Just Energy is definitely going after a specific market segment in the electricity world. Per their website, it appears that they only offer extremely long term energy plans for residential customers, although they recently added a month-to-month plan (for a fairly high price). While I think most of us never considered signing a 5 year contract for electricity, the rate for that contract was not far off the competitive landscape. They also are very intent upon green energy, allowing the customer to select a percentage of how much of their electricity should be from true green sources, from 20% to 100%, which is a neat feature. They have online rate estimates, and you can manage your account online, which are all nice features. The question is really whether you want a 5 year contract. Their PUC complaint scorecard was fairly poor.
