STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKED A$$HOLES! This was a good company until my contract ran out. I went from having at most a $140 energy bill in the hottest part of summer to $400-$500 bills no matter how little electricity I use. They even charged me for a six month old bill that was suspiciously added to a current one. They said the credit card company rejected the payment six months after I paid it and then threatened to cut off my electricity if I didn't pay immediately. Just Energy is nothing but a crooked company with rates that aren't the least bit competitive.

Just Energy is the most scandalous company I've ever dealt with. They pull up to our development with a van full of "representatives" and swarm the area, taking advantage of anyone they can. The man that came to our home scammed his way through through selling a 60 MONTH contract with rates higher than I've seen nearly anywhere under the guise that it was "such a great deal". He showed, on his phone, copies of other residents' bills to compare and demonstrate their "savings" while upselling their "green units" as a discount…not the additional fee it actually is! Buyers make sure to read every last detail on your agreements and know enough to do your homework. Their early termination fees are triple most places. They offer a less than 8 cent promotional rate online yet sell door to door residents on a 12.4 cent rate. The representative that came to our house left a fake number with us so we got screwed out of the three day grace period to cancel after trying to reach this guy to get some questions answered. HE was all smooth talk during the sell and coached to call to corporate to sign up. When I had the time, ( it took days of calls and waiting to the ONE number they provide for assistance ) and was finally able to reach their cancellation department, the woman told me if they hear a call being coached, they refuse the sign up. All I was offered was too bad lady, you signed the contract. It's pathetic these people come door to door in the evening, when people are worn out from a hard days work, tell you they're selling you one thing when the fine print says another. This man talked over the phone call the entire time so there was no way of knowing what you've really gotten yourself into until after the fact. This company is about one thing, SCREWING YOU OUT OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY. If you want out, you've got to pay not only your monthly bill, but a disconnect fee in addition to $75 PER MONTH left on your contract… With 59 months left on ours, that's a whole lot of money. I hope enough people will stand up against these unscrupulous tactics and get these money mongers shut down.

I signed up for services with Just energy but within the 3 business days that the law gives i cancelled and stayed with my previous provider. Just energy started charging from the day i signed up, even when my electricity hadnt even switched yet, and i know that because my provider at the time called me and asked me to stayed with them, and that they hadnt doen the switch yet. Well, for "3 days of service" with just eenergy, they were charging me $100. i called and they said they were not gonna debit my account and they will erase my bank info so that payment doesnt get processed just in case. Well, needless to say, my bank was deducted that amount. i called customer service several times and after 3 weeks of me calling and calling i saw my refund. however, the customer reps were rude, and because their mistake and postponing my credit to my bank account, i overdrawn my bank account. i have called customer service and ask to speak with a supervisor, and they are never available. they say they would call back, and they never do. i emailed customer service, and same thing, no response whatsoever. it has been the worst experience. First, they charged for something that i didnt even used, then they say they will credit and will not deduct my bank and they do, and then they take forever to refund my money, and thats because i had to be calling and calling, putting up with rude people. i am just glad i didnt stayed with them, but it has costed me a lot of money just in overdraft fees because of that transaction and nvere getting my money back on time.

The key to getting with any company is doing your research, Just energy is one of the largest companies out . Regardless of ppls complaints in which every large company will have, they service over 5 million customers. Their a green company and also publicly traded so for everyone who gets on here trying to hop on the "Company Bashing Bandwagon" , stop the pointless complaining and get informed. Great company as far as I'm concerned

It is fairly obvious who works for the company or is it the company responding to so very many complaints by supplying false stories to make themselves look good? I had to deal with them under one of their earlier versions and it was horrible. Thought such a bad company had gone under until Just Energy showed up. Where I thought the old company was bad, they seem almost wonderful compared to this latest iteration. I can only say - STAY AWAY FROM THEM!

Terrible Company

This company is by far the worst company i have ever had to deal with. When i first set up my electricity with them they came out when they were suppose to. Although two months had gone by with using their service and i had received my first bill. On that first bill was a charge for the "actual" first month and a late fee for not paying it, tacked on to the second months bill. After arguing with customer service for over an hour, nothing was resolved i still had to pay the late charge and two electric bills at once. I was using a month to month basis so i could cancel at any time. At the time i canceled i would still have one more bill coming, and i specifically gave the customer service representative my forwarding address. Months passed, years past and today i received a call from a collections agency saying i never paid my outstanding electric bill. Called Just energy's customer service once again and they confirmed to have my forwarding address but to have no record of the FINAL bill ever being sent there. Its companies like this that should go under. It is there responsibility to send their notifications not the clients. I do not suggest ever using this company EVER.

I believe I made a huge mistake when I switched over to this electric company. NEVER had any problems until this one. First of all...Do not believe their sales man DARRELL THOMPSON!! He will lie (very convincing) so you can switch...we were stupid to believe him! Now I just found out that I am getting charged extra for not being enrolled in auto pay when I go to Just Energy website and pay the bill. Also, if I am over a certain amount of kilowatts I am charged for that too. I am just gonna wait till my contract is over then I am done with this company!! Do not change to this company!!

I was told there was an activation fee of 100 dollars when I went to sign up for Just Energy's electricity. So when I declined they told me they would send me a 100 dollar gift card if I signed up today. So when I accepted they told me they would be sending it in the mail within 6 - 8 weeks. I thought..Cool I can just use that towards another bill. Apparently you have to send in your first bill within a month of activation and put an address on there as to where to send the gift card to. WHAT?! Just send it to the address on file? Isn't that HOME?! So them failing to tell me that resulted in me having to pay 100 extra dollars for absolutely nothing. I ended up having to move to another state and they told me I wouldn't be able to get my gift card anyways because I cancelled my services with them almost immediately after activating with them. I told them I would write a review online about how poor the communication and lack of effort on their end was in resolving any sort of issue. Not to mention the hold time was always 15+ minutes. NEVER again will I be using this company. They will be lucky to even get me to pay the final bill.

No matter what you do stay away from Just energy ,they will ripp you off . Their sales person offered me 6.9 cents and rate below Nstar ,in a month or two I am almost trice as Nstar ,paid $1300 more than what I was promised and this final month probably another $1000 ,stay away please your your own good.

I have a 1700sq foot home. Paid $219 one month and $550 the next month. So I had everything checked I even changed my air filter and kept an eye on how we are using our electricity. So then I get another bill that's over $600 and I for sure know it should be lower than the previous of $550. I still haven't gotten my $100 gift card that u are supposed to get when u refer someone they are a bunch of scam artists! .

If you're thinking about signing up, don't do it. If you signed up and you're still in the 3-day cancellation window, cancel it. Wow...I've never been nickel and dimed so much in my life. There's a fee for everything! I'll pay the $150 fee to cancel my contract and go back to Gexa.

Just Energy send people door to door with sepal to say save you money when they really just want to rip you off and get rich. Promising and good rate and then having another one on the contract they have you sign. SO BUYER BEWARE, Just Energy is nothing but a COARTIST! That $.5.99 cap, is not a cap, it is added to your monthly usages, so in my case I pay by the MCF. SO the monthly rate based on the exchange plus the 5.99 is the really almost double the rate. If You hear the word Just energy run AWAY.

Well where to start first just energy shut off my dads power to his business and his home! The bill had been payed on time and everything in fact just energy even admitted it was their fault! Today is the second day he still hasnt had power its winter my dad is 80 yrs old handicapped and in very bad health. Just energy swears they put a rush on it to be turnd back on but like i said its the second day and still nothing! Also my dads business is boat n rv storage so we also have 72 people who cant get to their storage facuilities because of this! You would think they would move faster since this was their fault and they admitt that too!

I had no problems with just energy. I think the key to this is to pay your bill on time. My reason for switching was due to price. I am of the opinion that no electrical provider has better electricity than the other, therefore my biggest concerns are pricing and service. A lot of problems can be alleviated by reading your EFL and asking questions about things that you do not understand. During my contract I found their reps. to be courteous and friendly.

I hate hate hate hate this company!!!! I hate calling to pay my bill but since i got these dang a$$holes i can not log on online! I've reset my password HUNDREDS(obviously an exaggeration but a necessary one) of times and i call all the time and there is always just some excuse as to why it will not work. I hate paper bills as well and i guess telling them to stop sending those is virtually impossible.

Just energy is nothing but a bunch of liars. They promised my rate won't go up but it went up starting on the 2nd month. I called the customer service; bad customer service; telling me they can't do nothing about it as it was setup by a 3rd party and I am stuck with them for 12 months. Can't wait till this contract is over. Please do not sign up with them. I saw some bad reviews before I signed up; I thought some people just always complain.... and I thought I would get lucky.... but trust me... don't take chance... you will net get lucky with JUST Energy... they should be called... JUST LIARS...

Disorganized Incompetence

In today's day and age, they seem oblivious to technology, and every single person there is trapped in a box sized to house an M&M. When you sign up for e-bill, you, do, in fact get a bill by email. You can do NOTHING with it, but you DO get the bill by email. There is NO link by which to pay your bill or schedule your bill. This, of course, would NOT matter, because when you DO go to their website to pay, or schedule, your bill, you CANNOT. Their "Wal Mart" 3rd party billing company does NOT receive the data to populate the bill until some 2-3 days AFTER you receive your notification. THEN, once you continue to check back for 2-3 days and are actually able to access your bill and schedule the payment, you must re-enter your payment information EVERY, SINGLE time. For over a year I addressed these issues with them. "Add a link to the bill pay site in your email bill notification." We can't. "Delay the sending of the email bill notifications until AFTER the data has had time to populate your third party billing company's database." We can't. "At least retain my info so paying my bill is a simple click of the mouse?" We can't. These may seem petty, but they are petty BOTH ways. Simple fixes to make the customer experience more pleasurable AND their cash flow more flowing. They CAN'T. Nope....they WON'T. HE GONE! INCOMPETENCE.

I switched to just energy from TXU when a door to door sales rep came to my door and explained how my price will not change for the next 5yrs and that it would be one charge only!!! When I got my bill it was exactly that! I'm too busy to be worried about what company to switch to and with this company I don't have to worry about it at all. LOVE IT!

well like every body just now and then you get a phone call save on electricity buying this thermostat is a scam dont fall for it i went and check my previous months to see how much i was saving surprise i compare 10 months without the termostat and i came out with 150 dlls more than last year what a coincidence im being charged 15 dlls a month so my charges to cancel guess what another 120dlls on top of that with option to buy it for 250 dlls where they sell for 170 on the internet please i paid the price dont do it please tell your friends

Lie and Over Priced Energy

Just Energy LIE and is a FRAUD.. I have a rental property in Houston, TX that was listed for Rental and wanted to setup temp electricity for the property. I search around; did a price comparison in Houston, Tx and found Just Energy to be the lowest. They advertised a rate of $0.04/km cents for 3 months. Talked to the sales rep; he back and left a voice message confirming that my rate $0.04/km but when the bill came out, it was $0.08/km. I called Customer Services and they give me the run around. I told them that I have a voice message with proof of my rate but they flat out denial it as said they Never Advertised that rate Just Energy is very quick to cut off your electricity. On my conversations with the Sales Rep, I told them it’s a rental property and to send the bill to my home but they never sent the bill there. My services was disconnected and they charge me a late fee. Frustrated, I just wanted them out; I paid-off the bill only to find out that there is another bill. For a VACANT property with 2 month of Services; I was charged $262.79(all penalties and fees were removed, after my repeated phone calls to Just Energy). I paid it off thinking it was the last time I’ll hear from them; NOPE, I was Wrong. They sent me another bill for $82.86 saying that even though the services was disconnected there is still a final bill that I needed to pay. I wasn’t told this when I was on the multiple phone conversations with Just Energy Rep(s). This Electric company is a Fraud and they are out to rip you off. Do yourself a favor and avoid them..

door to door scam artist lied

please be aware ---I just nearly got scammed into signing with these people by a door to door rep who flat out misrepresented himself. His story was that they were sent to check on the residents of my apt complex to be sure that we had not been 'unlawfully hit with the 2% rate increase' and that I should have received a notice via mail that they were coming to do that...he then asked to see my electric bill, I noticed he was with Just Energy who I had never heard of before and told him I was with Gexa Energy and asked why he (Just Energy) would need to see that, he then said they were sent by the state. I was skeptical but got a copy of my bill anyway- he started 'educating me on my electric bill and what I was being charged for, got my name and address, no harm there, then my phone #, then tells me he is going to call it in right now and get it fixed, and that they would call me right then and need to get my information including social security # but that I could go in the house and talk with them because he didn't need to hear my sensitive information. I went in and called my apt mgr instead and she came and informed him that we were contracted through another provider and if he wanted to solicit her residents he would need to follow the proper channels and speak with the property manger. I could have unwittingly signed because he played it off like he was cooperating with the state and my energy company to fix 'a problem with my bill'. After reading the reviews I can see why thier salesman have to resort to such tricks to gain a customer, he was not telling me to switch providers, he must be pretty slick or people are not so smart, I saw his list of residents who had apparently signed.

They lied

Just Energy used to be "US Energy" but they changed their name due to the bad name they earned in the market place from lawsuits and complaints to the Public Utilities Commission and various state attorney generals. They have an option to pay 1/2 of your bill and then pay the balance in 10 days. I phoned in and set that up only to have my electricity cut on 2 days later. I phoned in and they said they were having communication problems between the collection department and the billing department and it was an error and they would turn back on the electricity....it took them over 48 hours to get it back on during which time my food spoiled. I issued a complaint to the PUC and to show their lack of integrity Just Energy lied to the PUC saying I had not made an arrangement on my past due bill. They have no class but they are a CANADIAN company so there you go. I sued them and got the money for the spoilage. I'd stay away from them if I were you....no trust there with them.

It is crazy there website is the sorriest I have ever dealt with. I set up auto pay and it went through for a few months then something happened and they were unable to charge my account. I was charged a late fee instead of being notified that the payment did not go through so that I can pay it. I went to the website to pay and the website would not allow me to pay. I went to set up auto pay and nothing. I went to one time pay and nothing. I called there customer service and realized why they rather you be late they charge you $4.95 to process your account. I am well if you website worked I would not be calling you but it doesn't. I went through this 2 months trying to set up auto pay and just got feed up that I just decided to just switch electric providers. I can't update my own payment method. I have to pay each month. That is fine but when you have so much to do and live alone I can't be managing every single payment that goes out.

THEY WILL CUT YOUR ELECTRICITY OFF QUICKLY.

I have had electricity with Reliant and Direct Energy - and been happy with them. They upped their rates, so I shopped around. But, last year I was offered a rate that was very low with Just Energy. They have threated me with disconnection the very next day after a bill is due. I have never seen such quick threats to disconnect in 20+ years of electric companies. Bad way to treat your customers. And Just Energy is very quick to cut off your electricity. I found out the hard way. So quick in fact that it border lines on illegal. They sent notice for a bill due on the 16th via email. I have been busy and didn't check it for a few days. Then I was sent a envelope in the mail...not another email or a call. No that would be too nice and friendly of them. This notice I received it in my mail on the 22nd. Unfortunately, I simply forgot to get to my mail and didn't realize it was a disconnection notice and not a reminder. Just Energy cut my electricity off on the 30th - that is just 8 days after the notice came in the mail. No calls, no messages, no additional notice. I paid by phone and it was back on shortly, I was glad for that. I have had homes and electric bills since 1995 not a single company was so quick to cut my electricity off. I was shocked. I called to find out how I could prevent this in the future. They said automatic billing. Fun. Please, if you like to keep the food in your frig cool, do not sign up with them. I beg you...do not. In the state of Texas there is a window of 10 days notice before cutting off you electricity. The notice got to my house on the 22nd and no lights on the 30th. But, since the bill was due on the 16th and the notice mailed on the 19th they claim that they are within their rights. My question is who wants to be treated by their electric company this way? I don't. And do you really want to risk coming home to no lights for missing a payment by a few days? I think not.

My husband went to pay our bill on thursday. On friday our lights were off. I called customer service with my conformaiton number only to be told that it can take up to 3-4 business days for my lights to be turned on. The customer service rep tells me it is becuase my husband didnt pay at ACE CHECK CASHING! Yet when i called to find out where i could pay the bill at since my credit card was stolen the customer service rep just said any check cashing place. So my husband went to the closest one ot our home. Friday was my sons 18th birthday party at our house that we couldnt have becasue they turned our services off. We even talked to a manager who also informed us that they can NOT turn them back on til 3-4 business days for the payment to process. WTH!! I am switiching services ASAP!! They were rude and very unhelpful. Even with the people from the Check Cashing telling them the payment was paid and proceseed they would NOT listen NOR help us. THANK YOU JUST ENERGY FOR SCREWING UP MY SONS 18TH BIRTHDAY!!!

I received a huge final bill from the company where the rates had shot up even more between the last bill and the switch over date. Please do not sign up with this company! With the promise of lower electric bills i signed up with the door to door salesman. First mistake! After a month my bills doubled. I ended up moving and it just got worse. The first month i Received my bill from my previous address...i paid it in full. Then i Received a disconnection notice for my new address. When i called i was told that no billing arrangements had been set up??? How do you provide service & not send a bill? So i paid the bill and their Rediculous charges. Now I'm facing another sky-high bill and another disconnection, along with a threatening bill for collections stating that i owe $ from my previous address. Nothing about this company is honest, and they dont give a shit whether you struggle, they are in the game the Deceive people and steal $$. I will not be paying this obsurd bill this time they can shove it. I am lodging complaints with anyone who will listen. These are not fair or honest business practices.

DO NOT USE JUST ENERGY!!!

I believe that Just Energy and their promotion company conspired to mis-apply my payments and therefore DID NOT SEND THE TWO (2) $75 VISA REWARD CARDS which I should have received. Briefly this is what occurred: (1st) The Just Energy promotion company opened an account prematurely, July 5, 2012, while I was under contract with TXU although I clearly informed him that I was calling to get information on Just Energy's various plans. Two days after he opened the account I became aware of the situation and immediately cancelled the Just Energy account and paid in full for those two days of service while I was under contract with TXU. After my contract ended with TXU, I opened a Just Energy account,8-23-2012. During the first six (6) months. my payments were miss-applied three (3) times! The first payment was applied to the account that was erroneously opened when I was under contract with TXU. (2nd) A payment was processed exactly $20 less than the amount of the check. (3rd) Both of these situations resulted in penalties - however all penalties and fees were removed, after my repeated phone calls, because the mistakes were clearly made by Just Energy and not my mistakes. I made numerous phone calls in my efforts to receive the two $75 Visa Reward cards and followed the instructions provided by the Just Energy employees. The Visa cards were not sent to me. Next, I wrote letters, with supporting documentation, to the Just Energy payment processing office and corporate offices on two separate occasions - NEVER HAVE I HAD A REPLY, NOR HAVE I RECEIVED THE TWO VISA CARDS WHICH I CLEARLY EARNED BY TIMELY FOLLOWING THE GUIDELINES OF THEIR PROMOTION OFFER. KNOW THAT I ALWAYS PAY MY BILLS IN FULL AND PRIOR TO THE DUE DAY. JUST ENERGY CHEATED ME. ALL THE MISTAKES WERE MADE BY JUST ENERGY. THIS WAS CLEARLY ACKNOWLEDGED AS THEY REMOVED ALL PENALTIES. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!

Fraudelent or just plain stupid

We had a Just Energy rep come to our front door and my husband ended up signing up with them. We got our first bill due date was 8/23/13 a little over $200.00 which is about the same as what we paid with the company prior. Then we got another bill due date of 8/26/2013 over $600.00. Contacted Just Energy to find out why we had 2 bills due 3 days apart. The rep stated that they had failed to send the first bill on time. I asked her so I'm supposed to pay a gigantic bill because you failed to do your job, she stated I had a 13 day grace period. Within that 13 day grace period I have switched back to the company I was with before and have filed a Complaint with the Public Utility Commission of Texas. I today, got my final bill almost $1300.00, I think I may conveniently forget to pay them.

JUST ENERGY IS A VULTURE LOOKING FOR PREY:

When I called to check their rates and programs I got a very good salesman and no matter how many times I told him I wanted to think about switching overnight he just would not take no for an answer. He finally said don’t worry you have 3 days to change your mind before any of this takes effect. DO NOT BELIEVE that scam because that was June 12th and over two months later I am still trying to get everything straightened out and get my $114.43 back that they took out of my checking account. Technically they said I had an account with Just Energy less than 10 hours. Every time I call customer service all I hear is YES, I DO UNDERSTAND, yes and I see you have been calling, this process takes 7 to 10 business days, nothing happens you call back - well that takes another 3 to 7 business days, then we go back to yes I understand but this will take another 3 to 10 business days. We are talking about EFT it does not take 5 minutes to have funds electronic transferred thought the world much less in the US. Why don’t they just confess to the public they do not have the funds to refund a person’s money? PLEASE DO NOT TRUST THEM find another provider for electrical service.

I was always very skeptical about choosing a supply company, and read a lot of bad reviews, but I still decided to give it a try. Now that I have been a Just Energy customer for well over 2 years I have to say it was the best decision I ever made for myself. Now that I understand how this program works and all of the terms, I'm able to see that a majority of these bad reviews are from people whom are confusing Just Energy for different supply programs. The terms are simple and easy to understand and my rep was very professional and polite. I did take advantage of the option to lock my gas and electric rates a few months back and now my energy cost are so much lower than the utility, and my cost won't change for the rest of my term. This company is so awesome and honest. I have recommended it to all of my friends and family. I really hope people get their facts straight before posting complaints about this company cause it is making them seem oh so silly.

When I first singed up with them there was no customer service office, all I go was a computer, now there is an office to talk to. I asked to be billed the first of every month because that is when I received my pay. they did not do that and when I asked about it they said they could not change my due date because the meter readers did not match they billing date and they could not change. Now the cost is going up from the beginning rate to 12 cents. Just as high as my local company that I can pay in person and ask questions face to face. I would not recommend Just Energy to anyone.

Not so bad as electric providers

We have been with Just Energy since February 2011. We got a rate of 8c per kwh for two years. We failed to note our anniversary date with them and the rate went up to 12c per kwh when contract date expired. We have been getting hugh bills this summer with the last one being $457. I was very pleased with customer service when I called and asked about payment as my husband and I are retired and living on a limited income. The lady I talked with was very helpful and said we could pay half by the due date and the other half 10 days later. We are looking for another provider since we cannot afford these large bills. We will look for a locked in rate and we will check out Just Energy rates.

I signed with just energy for a cheaper bill according to them. Two months after signing with them my bill kept going up and up. Turns out they were charging much more than duke energy. My first bill was 20.00 more than normal. SO, I started using less electric and not cooking as much thinking that would help. Ha, silly me a month with less usage and no ac and my next bill was even more!!! These people are liars and will tell you anything to get your business. Don't end up like me, duke is a pain in the butt, but better than these liars! The government should be ashamed sending these people out. Some help that's supposed to ae.

I've had a great experience in signing with Just energy. They are the largest green energy provider in north America. They can't please everybody but needless to say they have A- with the better business bearau. I completely reccomend Just Energy because I don't have to keep renewing my contract every one or two years. They also have all inclusive rates no charge on supply and delivery on my contract. Get Just Energy.

I was told I did not pay my last months bill and it was up to me to prove that I had..getting the bank to confirm it- which ended up taking up my whole day. Then they said it was my fault because I had not written the account number on my check. "This is a deceitful and bad company...stay far away. Morally corrupt and if they can get away with stealing your money they will do it. Check every bill..what ever you do don't sign a contract with them.

At first when i read people reviews, I did not believe those reviews at all. Then, I started to recheck my current and past bills. I got charged for something that it was not supposed to. I called them to find out why. One promised after another and guess what - my problem still did not get resolved. Every time i called I got the same answer - WILL CALL YOU BACK OR STILL INVESTIGATE - for the shake of this company - It was only 50 bucks. This company business was tricking customers. They did not even meet the standard for "the ok business" and that was why they had no RATE on Better Business Bureau. I am sure with a kind of business they are running - targeting on tricking customers for a couple of bucks, in a very near future date they will go bankrupt because of NO customer. The people who ran this company maybe they did not even have a degree because if they did they should know the very BASIC rule when running a business was CUSTOMER. If "CUSTOMERS ARE HAPPY YOU GET THE BUSINESS" - in this case as you could see their reviews - how many customers were happy :( I was glad I refused the offers of those phone calls from their reps asking me to renew my contract - THANK GOD FOR HELPING ME MAKING THE BEST DECISION, TAKING ME AWAY FROM THOSE HEADACHES, STRESS... IF I WAS MAKING A WRONG DECISION TO STAY WITH JUST ENERGY I WOULD HAVE A HANDFUL OF THOSE. I HAVE A BETTER THINGS TO DO THEN WAITING MY TIME TO DEAL WITH THE COMPANY LIKE THIS. THEY CAN HAVE MY $50 AND GOOD LUCK WITH THEIR BUSINESS.

A NIGHTMARE to say the least. RUN !!!!

I don't even know where to begin. My bills are always incorrect for starters. The bill I received yesterday via email wasn't even mine, it was for a commercial account although it had my account number on it. I almost fell off my chair before I realized the mistake, almost 1000.00 for a small home. Several months ago I signed up for auto debit so I wouldn't get late notices HAHAHAHAHAHAHA I still received late notices, guess what folks?? Takes two months for JUST ENERGY to set you up for auto pay (which they don't tell you) so unless you are totally on top of everything you get a late notice with fees...took me an hour on HOLD before I finally spoke to a rep I could not understand well. To top it off, I started receiving PINK late notices on bills that had been paid for months ??? I can't even explain this to the rep because we can't communicate well enough for me to explain the mass confusion. TODAY I said to hell with this S*** I switched energy providers, I will FIGHT the cancellation fee although I know they will most likely win because they are so unprofessional and you finally give up !!! How in the heck do they even stay in business???? I have never been so upset with a utility company before... Unprofessional is such an understatement. Please don't use JUST ENERGY !!!!! You've been warned !

I tested them by leaving out of town or 21 days... with all lights and ac off... and my bill was even higher than when i was there the full month... JUST ENERGY HAD MY HUSBAND SIGN CONTRACT His name not on my bill!!!!

Friday 5/.31/13 a guy came to our home and my 80 yr old husband was here and he convinced my husband to look at our gas/electric bill and had my husband sign a contract! for 5 freaking years!!!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? the gas/electric billis in my name alone! My husband does not have authorization to sign anything for me...I RECEIEVED TWO E MAILS FROM JUST ENERGY WITH CONTRACT SIGNED BY MY HUSBAND..WITHIN FEW MINUTES OF HIM SIGNING IT......I HAVE 3 business days to cancel so I canceled within 1 hour!..I immediately contacted JUST ENERGY via phone and some guy assured me he canceled contract and gave me a confirmation number! I will check with them monday and if I do not get a e mail assuring me of cancellation, I will contact attorney general and my attorney! I also e mailed these ppl back too....what a scam! A friend of mine also had issues withthese ppl and her gas/electric billwas highest ever in all the years she had with the original utility! DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING!!!

I had just energy in my old complex and it was good. Then I moved to a different apartment complex and had trouble with getting it switched. And then my bills was good again until 3 weeks ago its 2013 now they claim they was billing me the wrong meter and now that want me to pay $400. For someone else mistake I will not pay for that if I been paying a bill on time for last 8 months in my new apartment. They was try to trick into thinking you did something wrong. Really!!! Don't switch to them please save yourself a headache.

They offer the lowest price for the first month, which is 0.08 for only first month and from second bill it is based on market price. But even for the first month it is a lie. They always sending the first bill for 4-5 days, since they are going to give you the bill from the second bill as higher price based on the market price. they said this is because you order was at the middle of the cycle and it is out of our hand. We send you bill at the time that center point check your meter. But I don't believe it. The other thing, you have to be careful with the customer service, they will tell you something and then again that charge will be appear at your next month bill. Again you have to call them to dispute. They will waive it but as a favor not this was their fault. This way some people will be tired and not calling them. Just imagine how much they can earn if they make such mistakes in their thousands customer bills.

Beware of the Just Energy sales tactics especially if you are a senior citizen. They misrepresent their company as being part of the state, use scare tactics saying new technology will cause rising costs in electric service and belittle your intelligence with " you obiously are not informed, and don't watch the news." The salesman Did Not introduce himself as a Just Energy employee in spite of his "$40. Logo Jacket" I was polite, but not interested. He left muttering that he would mark me down as not wanting to save money. This company reminds me of an online scam. Shame on unproffessional business practices.

Just Energy is the worst electric company I have ever dealt with in my life. I have had electric service all over the country and from many different companies some with a monolopy and they could not compare to how bad JUST ENERGY is. I even had a nasty man call me saying he was from Just Energy but the phone number on my caller ID was from KOCH BROTHERS COMPANY. KOCH BROTHERS COMPANY was not happy that this guy was using their number somehow and I hope they got to the bottom of it when the lady told me they would do a complete investigation. I don't know how he did it but I do know Just Energy refuses to give a real phone number that you can call them at or an address where you can write to them. I also got screwed by not getting a $100 VISA card I was promised to sign on and so did my son who recommended Just Energy to me. STAY AWAY FROM JUST ENERGY. EVIL IS TOO NICE A WORD FOR THEM. THANK GOD MY CONTRACT IS UP!

I had a sales rep come to my door and told me I could APPLY to see if we qualified for their services. I asked the person more than once if I really was just APPLYING and not actually signing up for anything and she told me yes. So here I am thinking I'm just going through the process to see if we would get "approved" all the while I'm actually being signed up. They tell you you have 3 days to decide whether you want the service or not. So I call to cancel right away. Of course it's a Saturday and their "canceling people" aren't there (how convenient). So I call back on Monday and cancel and am told everything is good. LITTLE DID I KNOW.. the moment I was "approved" my previous electric company got terminated. I now owe my previous company quite a bit of money for terminating, PLUS I will most likely owe Just Energy since apparently we have been using them for the past few days. And to top it all off, we may have to go without electricity for some time until this is all sorted out because we canceled Just Energy and our previous provider was canceled too, leaving us with NO ONE. This company is a scam. The salesman are lying to you! Your bill will be over $80, the salesman cannot guarantee you that it won't. He also told me the company I was with was charging me double per kWh which was a lie. They also start deducting from the $200 immediately. My bill for 3 days was $25. I read the reviews and I still let the salesman talk me into it. Oh, before I forget you will have a 5 year contract. And I don't work for TXU. The salesman told me that they investigated all the reviews and they came from TXU. PLEASE save yourself the headache! Stay with the company you are with!!!!!!

From my experience, the Just Energy representatives are highly unprofessional as well as rude. My fiance signed us up for this company after she had been promised LOWER fixed rates for our gas bill. Our gas bill has increased by 5x the normal amount since signing up with this company!!! I've talked to over 5 representatives trying to get detached from Just Energy and have gotten nothing but HUGE gas bills as well as hours of time wasted trying to talk to them! They seem to care about nothing but getting money no matter what it takes! DO NOT EVER SIGN UP WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!

Beware Beware Beware. Because i pay bills mid month (not the 1st) the bill is always about 3 weeks late. Disconnect notices almost monthly and 3 times (in the past year) working at home, boom power out! I have never ever been disconnected before. The call every month threatening to disconnect. I know I know I should have switched away. I am now doing that and bill went from $200 to $622. Not on any plan, some true flat rate bs. I don't think so, nope you will not see that out of my pocket.

Thank yo Just Energy and also everytime I talk to any customer service agent they are in USA NOT OUTSOURCED like TXU ot Direct Energy who is a subsidiary of Centrica a Brittish company. My money stays here in USA where I live and I LOVE JUST ENERGY for their GREAT PRICES and GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!

If you call and spend 30 minutes on hold, they will remove a small portion of the fees as a credit on your account. Maybe anyway, or maybe they just tell you that to get you off the phone. I am stuck for another 4 and 1/2 years but will be moving the very day my contract expires.

Upon signing up with Just Energy, the agreement was that I would receive a $75 rewards card within 8-12 weeks. After mailing in the rebate form over 4 months ago, I still have not received it. When I call to check on the rewards card everyone gives me a different phone number/website/or email to obtain the status. Then 5 months after having service I started noticing random fees on my bill. Each bill I spend 45 minutes on the phone, sometimes I get the erroneous charges fixed. They are charging me $5 each month because I won't agree to let them automatically deduct my bill from my checking account. I don't trust them and would never agree to that. They make their money by "cramming" fees to their customers.

Don't Sign Up for Automatic Payment

Customer Service (cs) with Just Energy is the absolute worst I've ever seen. After agreeing to have my payment taken out of my bank account each month, I asked her if I should go ahead and pay my bill since it was past due. She said "yes". I said "are you sure they won't take it out of my account" and she said "no, they'll see you don't owe anything". Well guess what. $380 taken out of my account 10 days after I had paid the $380. Now it's a month later and I still don't have my money. The 1st two weeks they kept telling me "it will be put back in your account between 3-5 days." Baloney!! Finally after the third week someone said "they won't put it back in your account, they're mailing you a check which could take 3 weeks". Still waiting for my check.

They messed up our address repeatedly and we ended up getting threats to have our power cut off if we didn't pay our bill. We never received one since they messed our address up and had to call them to see what was going on. They told us their were late fees and charges added, but didn't say we had any time to pay our bill. Why should we pay for their incompetence on messing up the address!!?! Switched immediately to another supplier. Customer service rep was demanding immediate payment or we would lost electricity. Terrible experience all round.

Signed a one year contract to match my lease (thank God only one year). Signing up was very easy and quick, however when I started getting my bills I was being charged almost $20 a month in BS fees. $10 for paper billing, several dollars for manual payment (mailing in a check), fee's for online payments, etc... They were very rude when I called them on the fee's (and it took several calls and hours to finally get them stopped and partially refunded). After all this our rate is still more than two cents higher than most other plans. I cannot wait to get rid of this shady supplier!

I checked my bill this month after several months of receiving them. They have randomly placed $18.00 worth of fees on my account. All of a sudden there is a "manual Pay fee" which is bogus since I always pay online and then there is a "OPT out of Ebill fee " for $10.95. I aksed about a previous bill in which I was charged $9.95 for choosing Ebill. So, they get you comoing or going..... I will be taking two courses of action. BBB as well as report them to the FERC. Actually make it 3. I will be calling my local news station " Take it to Akin " to see if they would like to run a story on the SCAM that they are running...... I have several months to go on this contract, but after that I can assure you I will not be back with this company and if I have anything to do with it, put them out of business or make them pay huge fines....I will also contact my lawyer to see about a clas action on these scammers. DO NOT PUT YOUR FAITH IN THIS COMPANY!

We spent hours on hold only to get transferred to another line. After they finally credited our payment to our account it still took twenty four hours to get our power back on. I moved and orginally called about Gexa energy but the lady informed me I could get cheaper energy. Which is with this crappy company. First bill was $68 with the $9.95 service charge for 4 days worth of service with 3 kwh of usage...are you kidding me? Everything has been fine for the last 4 months until this bill. A $3.50 charge for not choosing to do E-bill and a $4.95 charge for bill pay because I use the automated service and not the auto pay. I called to ask them and the customer service idiot informed me he could help but could only keep me on the line for 5 minutes because of other customers calling in. Mind you I was on hold myself for 45 minutes waiting on someone to answer the phone. Poor customer service. I should of listened to the reviews the day after signing up and I should of cancelled my service that day. Customer beware!!!

JUST ENERGY IS TERRIBLE!!!

I signed up with Just Energy from The Power to Choose website. They were supposed to turn on my electricity on July 13th, but did not. Only July 16th-I still had no service and they would not expedite my installation request and said July 19th was the earliest they could get it set up. I ended up having to switch to Reliant Energy who got out the same day as I asked (July 17th). I talked to the director along with others at Just Energy and they ensured me that they cancelled my request on the 19th. Today, I got a bill in the mail from Reliant Energy for only 2 days - Just Energy never cancelled the request for the 19th and took over my service anyway (without my knowledge). Now I cannot switch back to Reliant because my account is frozen for only being activated for 2 days. DO NOT EVER SIGN UP WITH JUST ENERGY!!! It's the biggest mess that I've ever had to deal with. They make claims and will not even give you a confirmation number so there is not way to even have evidence of anything that happens. I am on the phone now waiting to talk to someone and it's already been 30 minutes and I haven't gotten through to anyone. The wait time to speak to a representative has been over 30 minutes EVERY time i've called. If you don't want to sit on hold in tears dealing with idiotic people for hours of your life - DO NOT GO WITH JUST ENERGY!!!!!!

I signed up with them for one of my rental units. At the time of sign up, all I was told was my rate. I rented my unit two weeks after signing up and called to cancel my service. I was informed that it would take 3 days and that my renter's electric would be turned off. I was told I should have called them a week earlier. No one had given me this information when I signed up. When I signed up, I did tell them that this was a rental unit and that I would cancel as soon as I rented it. I held on the telephone for twenty minutes before I was able to talk to someone and they hung up on me. Please, Please, do not sign up with this company.

I simply stayed with my provider yet, I just recieved a bill from Just Energy for $98 whereas my provider bill for energy is a mere $58. Just Energy (via, phone) claims I am still a customer of theirs but I am NOT...Thank Goodness. It's been a hassel and all I can say is do NOT sign up. I'm grateful this company doesn't have access to my Debit account.

$310 Cancellation fee even if you move

We used them in texas for 3 years. I moved to Ohio. When we signed the contract the person who came on the door said when you move the contact terminates and there is no termination fee. When we moved and sold our house and cancelled the service, they sent me a bill with $310 for contract cancellation fee. I called the CS and told them about the move, she asked me to send the doc proving the move and assured everything will be settled. I got call another day for the same reason, I explained the person on the phone, he said that you will get a final bill with $0 balance and gave me the confirmation #. Even afetr this they kept calling me everyday (automated calls ask you to press #1 and put u on hold for 3mins to talk to real person). These people were very rude and kept asking for $310 even if i explained that the account is settled. I don't know what to do as they are complete liers. Don't ever even consider their service. They knock your door give you the best rate which is only good for 6months. Don't sign anything just by bilieveing the person who knocked on your door or on the phone.

I always pay my bill ahead of time, have proof that they have received and cashed my check days before the bill is due and have received at least 3 cutoff notices. When I call I am put on hold, once for over an hour, then they tell me to pay my bill sooner! I have asked for someone to return my calls to no avail, customer service reps do not care and say "oh well". I would stay away from these folks, they just don't get it.

Pushy door-to-door sales people

This company's representatives pose as agents of a regulatory agency here to determine if you are being billed properly for your area. They ask to see your electricity bill. I resent that kind of duplicity in door-to-door sales.

Happy Camper

They have a lot of offers, variable plus fixed 1 year up to 5 years. I ended up choosing a 1 year fixed with them, as I have a 1 year lease. Green was 2c more but I opted not to for the time being. A friend told me about them. Although, I chose them because the price was great, got a bonus gift card, and they are a big name. Customer service call was almost flawless, got put on hold for a few minutes while they checked credit.

SUPER DUPER LOW PRICE. OMG!!!

I've had Just Energy for 3 months, and I've been astonished with the price primarily. I have the 40% green option and even with that, my bill has never been more than $20. Before this my bills were always between $55-$60. I'm very happy with the savings I'm making!!!! I am telling everyone about this company. I would recommend it 100%.

Just Energy Scams

I am not even a customer of Just Energy, but a person who previously was a tenant of this location was, so Just Energy is trying to get me to pay them $1000, took ERCOT, PUC, and Texas AG along with lawsuit to get them to back off.

Change of Heart About JustEnergy

I had originally given a poor review and wished the death of this company. I change my mind. I had a contract for 16.3/kwh when the rates were in the 20's 3 years ago. I finally decided I would pay the fee for ending the contract early and called them about 3 times and sent several emails asking how much the fee would be and then letting them know that I was going to another company for a better rate if they would not reduce my rate without penalty. They did! My rate went from 16.3 to 10.5 immediately, as I said after about a month of calling and emailing. Also, it wasn't as low as I requested. I wanted 9.0 which was what I saw as the average for the competitors. I am satisfied with JustEnergy at this point.

THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IN THE BUSINESS

I PAID MY BILL ON TIME, THESE FOOLS SENT A SHUTOFF NOTICE. CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPT AND WAS KEPT ON HOLD FOR 2 HOURS. THEY HAVE THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. I RECOMMEND THAT NO ONE EVER SIGN UP WITH JUST ENERGY, THEY HAVE NO SERVICE.

i used to work for just energy and the whole company is useless. there are so many employees committing fraud its pitiful. if i could say anything nice about the company it would be that there 5 yr proiection plan is great but the green energy option raises your bill every month.

I do not have their service nor will I ever have their service. Their employees have harassed me and my family to switch with no regard for the fact I have told them multiple times that I am not interested. Why would I want to switch to a company that treats people like that? I was told they would continue the harassment until I switched. The Texas PUC along with the HCSO have been contacted about their abusive practices. If you switch that is your business I just want you to know the mentality of the company that you are dealing with.

I am a customer of Just Energy and and employee as well. The only time my bills are high is around Christmas time with all the lights we have on. My contract is almost up and I will resign with them; not just becasue I work there but because they do save me money. If you are being over charged...look at your usage and multiple...do the math. It is not that complex. If you are not getting an actual meter read...then call centerpoint. complain to them since all Just Energy does is bill you for what is used. We don't service you or read your meters. Get Educated!

Worst Customer service billing experience ever

I have been with this company for over 4 years and finally will change providers. They continously cash my electronic payments then state I didn't pay my bill. I then forward the 3 month history of them actually cashing my cheques and then they change my account status to current. Every month the check is cashed early from my bank and they send me a dissconnect notice every other month. One time they send a bill for over $13,500.00 for usage... My bill averages $250.00/month. It took multiple calls to get them to reverse the charge and correct the bill. They have terrible billing and customer service. This is the first time I have ever actually rated a company but my experience has been so bad for so long I hope a potential future customer can learn from my experience. I will also be forwarding a written complaint to the State energy board. I have never been late on a payment in 4 years but they have disconnected me once due to their own internal accounting issues.

I have been with U.S.Energy Savinngs for over 2 years, which is now Just Energy. I have absolutely no complaints on any level & have a good rate of 12 Cents Per K.W.H. & I did sign up for 5 years, 2 years ago. No problem with customer serv., or anything else. I would have to give it a 5 rating as far as I'm concerned.

Run for your Lives!!!

Signed on with US Energy Savings, with a fixed rate, and the first bill was wonderful, much lower than my previous provider. The next bill wasn't recognized, because it now said Just Energy, so I put it in my junk mail pile. When my lights were disconnected, I learned that Just Energy WAS my electric provider. I saw bills that increased monthly from $300 to $400 to $500 to $600, and cancelled. My final bill with the cancellation is now over $1200--over $800 of that is the cancellation fee. I am a single woman on partial hours and I just feel ROBBED by Just Energy.

Concering Just Energy

I am a customer and an Employee of Just Energy since 2008. I have also taken advantage of their green energy program. I am not writing on here to convince people to take this program, it truely speaks for itself. Although our NY market is relatively new and I have not seen the end of a 5 year program. I am aware of their high percentage of customers, North America Wide, that resign after their term ends. I'm sure most people realize that people are more likely to call and complain than they are to call and make a complement. I'm just not sure people are fully aware of what this company is capable of.

I have been with Just Energy since May 2009 - I have found them cooperative and pleasant. They explained to me my alternatives. They have unfortunately been blamed for "Ercot" charges. They offer a bundled rate - their contract is very fair. I have read it. Those that complain do not realize how much the would be paying with their old supplier. In the words of Ron White "You can't fix stupid."

I Pray They Go Out Of Business

I pray they go out of business so that I can get out of this contract. They held my bill in June and July 2009, a couple of the hottest months in Texas and I have to pay a total of $1500 in electrictiy bills. PUCTX writes to ask them for a deferred billing plan but I will be charged late fees because they held my bills!Also, they are now one of the more expensive providers. PUCTX as usual is very unhelpful and is not about consumer protection. I pray JustEnergy/USEnergy goes out of business so I can choose a provider at a better rate. Of course, with them charging nearly 8 cents more per kwh, they can afford to stay in business longer than most.

I pray I could get out of my contract. The Regional distributor in McAllen TX lie to me giving me a rate and not telling me about the other charges so it made the bill more expensive. That's how he gets his customers and at the end we pay more. Don't be fooled!!!!!!!!!
