Lots of choices

(5 / 5)

I was confused about all the choices offered for electric companies as I am from Maryland & there aren't many choices there for providers. I went with Amigo on the advice of an acquaintance & was very pleased that it was so easy to sign up for service. I called their customer service line & was happy with the help I got.

18-month customer--very satisfied!

(5 / 5)

Our home is 1500 SF and it's only 2 years old. My husband and I set the thermostat at 72 in the summers and 68 in the winters. Our bills with Discount Power are the lowest in our subdivision and average about $55-$60/month. The one from this month was only $37. I'm not sure what the issue everyone is having, but our experience has been excellent with Discount Power. We enjoy our fixed rates and no additional surcharges like the other electric providers. Thank you, Discount Power!

I've used this energy company for a 2 years and just renewed for another year. No complaints whatsoever, and would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for cheaper rates and good service.

When I first inquired about plans and pricing, I couldn't have got a more helpful representative!! I told her what I was already paying and she found a plan for me. When she ran my information to see if I needed a deposit, I told her up front if I had to pay a deposit I would not be using their electricity. She laughed and said she understood. I did not have to pay a deposit:) when it was time to renew, they didn't raise my rates, they stayed the same. Great Great company.

This energy company is awesome! I had them at my apartment and then when I moved into my house, they found me a better deal and lowered my rate! It literally took 5 minutes and I wasn't on hold at all! I would recommend this company to anyone looking for a great deal. I think I have the cheapest electric bill out of all my friends AND you can get bill credit for getting referrals! Sign up and use my referral code and get money off your first bill! SBussey10355

These guys rock

(5 / 5)

Been with them - what 2 or 3 years now? I dunno - time flies when your energy service is hassle free. Was formerly with sparkenergy, and when they fell out of my service area for whatever reason it was, I don't know, I was sorely anticipating that I wasn't going to do as well again. But then found Champion - whoo hoo! Automatic/recurring billing via Credit Card, set it up and forget it, competitive rates which are promised and delivered, and no weird surprises or weird billing issues (a common complaint across many service providers). I could list all the problems I am NOT having, but it would be too too long! Glad I found you.

Great Service Good price need better billing online

(4.6 / 5)

Have had them since April, started with a 90 day bait and switch. I liked them so much I took a year contract plan. I wish they would post my bill online in my account. You have to wait for the printed bill to see what your kwh useage is for the month.

The last legit company in Texas

(4 / 5)

After 2 hours of searching through the cesspool that is the Texas electricity market, I came across TriEagle. I signed up for a 3-year plan with a rate I am quite happy with. The company does not add on every fee they can possibly lard on and even covers the TDU charge. They do things the way it ought to be done.

If not for its bogus $4.95 monthly customer service fee, I would consider them a perfect company. But you can't have everything, especially in Texas. It is early yet, but here's to TriEagle for doing things the right way (almost) and being the last legitimate electricity company in the State.

Best rate in Abilene TX

Best rate you can find in Abilene TX , as long as you pay your bill on time each month

Good two years

(3.8 / 5)

I signed a contract with Spark and was satisfied. They elected not to offer power in my area so we parted ways. I signed up with them because they were one of the last companies not to charge a monthly fee but they've joined in the collusion now. They even refunded a charge for the short time I was with them after the contract expired and the switch to someone else occurred.

No hidden fees, just confusing statement

(3.2 / 5)

I've read several reviews here about how this company charges hidden fees. This is not the case. The company breaks down its fees into two categories. One is the category it charges you for your electricity and the other is the "Utility fee" which is the amount it has to pay the company that generates the power. All other companies combine these together for one charge. So at first look, it seems you've been hit with a high fee. But when you examine closer, you see the two fees are simply categorized.

The average poorly educated Texan is incapable of making this distinction and feels they have been ripped off. The company offers very good rates and I was able to lock in a 3-year deal which I am quite happy about.

Solid company but gouges with fees

(3 / 5)

My experience with Cirro was that it had decent customer service and decent rates if you do not consider fees. It clearly price-gouges with a $10.95 meter reading fee. Electricity meters are read electronically, and we have had to pay extra for the smart meters. So there should be no fee whatsoever. However, a pass through charge is allowed but it is only $3 per month. Cirro charged $11 and lies and claims it is charged by everyone.

It charges are high for a low usage customer, therefore, I rescinded my contract as allowed. May be more affordable for high-usage customers.

Paymore Power

(2.2 / 5)

This was the most expensive electric company I found in Texas. Rates are too high. I was paying about 100 a month. I had to find another provider asap. I switched and I am very happy now.

Overpriced and now bad service

(2 / 5)

TXU has always been the go to provider for overpriced electricity. After they were bought out by a hedge fund, they declared war on customer service and hired customer service agents in Guatemala. I was told by an exec a couple years ago that they were ending that arrangement. But TXU is now just another electricity broker out to make a buck now providing bad customer service along with high prices.

Variable rate price gouging

(1.8 / 5)

After researching electric companies in Texas we settled on DynoWatt. The
first month variable rate bill was amazingly .071 per KwH; however, the
very next month the rate went to .262 per KwH. This has to be impossible,
a .191 per KwH increase would have netted tremendous losses to
DynoWatt since they would be responsible for the difference in pricing.

I believe when a customer signs up for a variable rate plan they price
gouge to force you to consider a secure rate plan thereby locking in
earnings for a year. It would be easier to review gains and losses once
they have the majority of their customers on a secure rate plan. After
locking into a contract I wanted to switch providers, since I had not yet
entered into my secure rate plan. It would have cost $300...UGH!!

The chat operator was useless in assisting me and just repeated the same
answers over and over as if she had them copied ready for pasting

Poor Customer Service

(1.8 / 5)

I attempted to setup service through Dynowatt and everything seemed to go well, however, I received a call the night that my service was supposed to be connected to inform me that something was incorrect with my order (I don't believe this was my fault in any way) and that they would have to reschedule. Not only would they have to reschedule, but in order to give me service as early as possible, they were going to charge me a "priority" fee up to $100. I declined and decided to go with another company.

In addition to the poor service, the lady on the phone did not speak English very well and was also very rude.

Overall, I would not recommend this company.
