NEW OWNERS!

(5 / 5)

UPDATE: Calpine recently acquired Champion Energy and we were concerned that the service and rates we had come to love would slowly fade away. We can report that so far nothing has changed and there have been zero hiccups with the new ownership. We are so grateful for this.

Beware, WTU will rob you

(1 / 5)

If you are unfortunate enough to have chosen WTU, don't let your guard down for a second or they will rob you. My bill this summer increased about 300%---come to find out my contract had expired so they put me on a "variable rate" which actually means "invariably high rate." I'll own up to getting complacent; i should have been more aware of the length of my contract, but this kind of behavior seems like it's just designed to take advantage of people. Also, expect aggressive collection calls the second your bill is late, as well as a $30 collection fee. On a side note, i had to sign a new 12 month contract to get a reasonable rate, even though i will not still be at my current address by then, and the representative i spoke to could not offer me any firm guarantee that i would not be charged a $135 cancellation fee if they could not transfer service to my new location. Since it I didn't have the money to put down for a deposit with a different provider, I had to resign with WTU even though i hate them! Again, personal responsibility, but I bet what happened to me has happened to a lot of WTU customers. Don't make the same mistake I made.

Bad hombres

(1 / 5)

A rep from interest energy came to my door And wanted to know if if I was being charged a fee for delivery of my electricity I told him I was paying $87.28 a month for it and he said if I signed up with his company that I would only be charged $5.30 a month with a cheaper wattage rate although the wattage rate was true everyone has to pay the delivery charge no one can devalue that you're always going to get that so this whole spiel was BS they cannot make that charge go away or charger a cheaper rate for that. It was a ploy to get me to sign up for it after checking the reviews I saw how bad this company was that immediately called them and canceled my contract also this contract is for three years $300 penalty if you cancel before that time

Horrible billing...Horrible customer service

(1 / 5)

Ambit really messed my billing for multiple accounts which i have for 2 different rental properties. They disconnected the electric the same day that I called to question a weird, never seen before charge on a bill. When I called day later about the disconnected service, the rep said that she understood what happened and waived the disconnect /reconnect fee. She never sent the order to reconnect service to AEP. The following day electric service was finally restored after my tenant was without electricity for nearly 2 days. Ambit reps could not tell me why the service was disconnected or why the order was never sent for reconnection. HORRIBLE billing & customer service. They couldn't care less if you remain a customer.
