Renewing with Star Tex

  My contract with Star Tex was about to expire, so I spent much time researching various plans and rates offered by providers in our area. I wanted to see if I could secure a better rate with a company that also scored well on customer satisfaction. After an exhausting search, I called Star Tex to clarify information on their website; all my questions were answered thoroughly in a patient and easy-to-understand manner by customer service agent Ashley. Based on past personal experience, as well as current information, I have chosen to renew with Star Tex.

The Cheapest Thus Far NO Gimmikks!!

  I lived in Austin for years you could not choose your electric company the prices are high in the summer due to the TX heat! I moved to Killeen and did a lot of research on the prices and company's Bounce delivered!! Not only are they the Cheapest rates there are no hidden fees and the rewards are Outstanding!! I got a $25 gift card for signing up on line I was able to choose my own plan and I used a promo code and after 3 on time payments $50.00 was knocked off my bill as promised!! Once you sign up you will be given your own promo code to give out and earn $50.00 again!! Awesome company and incenitives!!

By far the best in Victoria Area

  I've been with Nueces for approximately 6 years. I'm moving to austin and finding the reviews helpful so I thought I'd help people moving to Victoria by letting people know that this is a cooperative - meaning that they are a non-profit and they return any excess funds to the customers. Every year I get a rebate that amounts to a month of service (almost $200 in my case). Nueces is almost half the rate of the for-profit providers. Never had a billing issue or any other funny business and neither have any of my neighbors.

  I have been a customer of Ambit energy for over a year now. Reading all of these reviews my mind is blown. 99% of you seem to have forgotten to pay one of your most important bills of the month and blame it on the company. Blame your mistake on yourself. This is a quality company. I highly recommend it to anyone.

Startex came through

  After seeing that "most" companies are charging 9.95 fee for usage less then 1000kwh including Startex I found 4 other plans that did not and planned on changing. When I called in to changed I told them they would have to leave me with the current usage fee of 4.99 for usage lessfor then 499Kwh to stay with them and they said yes! I am sure every apartment owner is upset with these new fees but show around and call Startex before you switch and politely ask. Maybe they do want to keep their Apt customers after all.

  I don't understand how this company is rated a "1.3." I had a misunderstanding regarding my bill but it was clarified and I was credited on my account. My bill is extremely reasonable at $31 month and much better than Austin energy I hear people complain about. Compared to AZ with outrageous fees I can truly say I'm extremely happy with

Great Experience with Potentia

  When I moved to Houston, I didn't realize my
apartment would have the electricity turned off
(in Austin, the landlord covers electricity
until you start service). Potentia expedited
the process to get my lights turned on. At one
point, my bill was sent back to them, so they
emailed it to me with a helpful note. Their
online bill pay page is easy to use, and
switching to auto bill pay was also super easy.
I just had to cancel my service, which was
quick and painless, and they aren't charging me
a termination fee since I'm moving (though I
have a year contract). Best thing- they've
never put me on hold- a HUMAN answers the phone
when you call, and they've always been
friendly. Only downsides: not a large percent
of renewable energy on their plan (~6%), and
they charge a $10 fee if you use less than 1000
kWh in a month, which makes up for any money
you would save by using less electricity, which
sucks.

  We've been with bounce for over two years, and I must say that we are quite happy with our service. We have not experienced any outages and have taken advantage of many of the discount programs. Last month our entire bill was covered by referrals that we had made! Can't complain about that!

  I've been with Bounce for over 1 year now and have not had any issues. Prices are good, and they offer promotional programs like cash-back for on time payments etc. They also have a referral program to earn account credit.

Good, But Raised Prices - Time to Move On

  We had Stream Energy "Clean 'n Green" for the past
18 months. We signed up originally because of the
price. Everything went very well! No complaints
about any aspect. Once, we renewed our contract,
as the price at that renewal was still
competitive.

Now, they don't have competitive prices any more.
We're going to a lower-cost provider.

  First let me say the responses from Startex seem like corporate doubletalk. After some people contacted CS 3 times with an issue Startex says to write them, Really? I have been a customer over seven years but if the Min usage charge changes to 9.99 for <1000 then you will lose me also.
It is very sad to see this former great company push away loyal customers and not give personal helpful replies here. -1
