Awesome Experience

  I have been with a few providers for the past 6 years. I have never been so happy to see my bill. Kinetic has no hidden transmission fees, it's a flat rate, and a flat monthly charge. Customer service is so easy to call if you need ANYTHING!!! They all are from the U.S. so you can understand them. And they don't charge for customer service like Reliant Energy. I would suggest anyone to switch to this company. No secrets, hidden surprises, and very honest with their business.

Nothing but lies from Reliant electric

  I am a brand new Reliant customer. I signed up yesterday morning and after paying my deposit, I was told that my new service would be turned on by the end of the day. This was great news, as my family of 8 is staying in a hotel until our utilities are all on at our new home. At 6pm yesterday our home did not have electricity on yet, so I called Reliant again to inquire about when the power would be on. The representative assured me it would be on by 11:59 pm. I said great, and went to bed. This morning I awoke to an email from Reliant stating that my power could not be turned on until my deposit was paid. I paid that directly on the phone when I signed up yesterday morning. So another phone call...This morning Reliant is telling me that it may be tomorrow before power is turned on now because there is no meter at my home. This was clearly explained to them in my initial first call with them yesterday morning that there was NO meter and the representative said no problem, your power will be on by the end of the day. I am getting the run around from this company and horrible customer service and have been their customer for less than 48 hours. This is unacceptable to be told twice that my power would be on, and then now be told for two different reasons their "excuses" for why it isn't. So now I do the math on 2 more hotel night stays at two rooms a night for my large family and it isn't ok. Reliant, this is a very disappointing way to start off new service with a new family of customers.

rate switching and price gouging

  During the peak of summer Veteran Energy more than DOUBLED MY RATE without making me aware, resulting in a one month electricity bill for my single family home of $795! When I called to try and correct the matter they went into a sales pitch for new plans and services but were unwilling to correct the price gouging of the previous month. Their explanation was that is was within their legal right to do so and is all they could do was sign me up for a new plan going forward.
They use their "Veteran" angle to make you believe they care about their customers but it is clear they do not.

The reviews here are accurate; wish I had looked here first!

  Thank goodness my contract has ended with this "company". I only wish I had reviewed this website first and avoided the hassle. First and foremost, the people who write about not being able to talk to anyone in Customer Service is VERY ACCURATE. I cannot tell you the HOURS I spent on the phone with agents who had no clue what was going on, and there was NEVER a supervisor available. I frequently spoke with agents in Longview, TX and it sounded like there was always a party going on in the background rather than a business. I was told different things on the phone everytime I called, but no one ever wanted to put anything in writing. I now know it was because they were lying non-stop so they could deny what they said later. The biggest problem in my scenario is that I have a RESIDENTIAL agreement with them, but I was charged 12 months COMMERCIAL delivery charges because they said it was Oncor's decision. The building where I reside was at one time a church with a parsonage. They can see it is only residential now. I was the one who had to do all the leg work and conduct follow thru with Oncor. In the meantime, Cirro just kept pointing the finger at Oncor and robbing me commercial rates. So I have a "residential" agreement, but am really being charged commercial rates. Hmmm....can you say fraud? And even after I pointed all this out to them, they still sent me another residential agreement? Next letter is to Public Utility Commission. Everyone makes mistakes, but a real business has someone there to talk to to work thru problems and then honors what they tell you they will do on the phone.

$310 Cancellation fee even if you move

  We used them in texas for 3 years. I moved to Ohio. When we signed the contract the person who came on the door said when you move the contact terminates and there is no termination fee. When we moved and sold our house and cancelled the service, they sent me a bill with $310 for contract cancellation fee. I called the CS and told them about the move, she asked me to send the doc proving the move and assured everything will be settled. I got call another day for the same reason, I explained the person on the phone, he said that you will get a final bill with $0 balance and gave me the confirmation #. Even afetr this they kept calling me everyday (automated calls ask you to press #1 and put u on hold for 3mins to talk to real person). These people were very rude and kept asking for $310 even if i explained that the account is settled. I don't know what to do as they are complete liers.
Don't ever even consider their service. They knock your door give you the best rate which is only good for 6months. Don't sign anything just by bilieveing the person who knocked on your door or on the phone.
