Reliant Flextra Credits 12 plan Reviews & Rates | Order Online

Reliant Flextra Credits 12 plan is a 12 month n/a electricity plan from Reliant with rates from 17.5 to 20.7 cents per kWh.

Who should buy this plan? The plan is flat, so there aren't any bill surprises month to month, but that energy charge is extremely high. This plan makes sense for people who can meticulously schedule all their appliances/devices/cars to operate on a strict weekly schedule where most of that stuff is done twice a week. I can see folks that are meticulous with planning and scheduling squeezing all the benefits out of a plan like this, however it's hard to see most normal people capitalizing enough to offset the high energy charge.

The Monthly Recurring Charge is 0.00, and the Early Termination Fee is 150.

Reliant Flextra Credits 12 plan Review

Plan Rating

Based on features, terms, and pricing, Reliant Flextra Credits 12 plan earned a rating of 1 / 5 stars.

Pros and Cons

Pros: Up to 8 free days of electricity a month. Cons: Really expensive energy charge that probably negates the free days.

Our Review

Reliant's Fextra Credit 12 plan...hoo boy, where to start? This is a pretty complicated plan with a complicated formula to determine the average kWh charge. But the long and short of it is that the plan will give your 2 highest usage days a week, up to 8 days a month, "Free" (caveat: if it's not a full billing cycle of 1 month you'll get less days free). On the surface, this seems like a good deal, but the energy charge is EXTREMELY high, so Reliant is giving you free days, but making up for it by charging high rates on the days that aren't free. The plan has no base monthly charge, and has a $150 early cancellation fee. It is a 12 month, or 1 year, plan.

More Details

This is a 12 month plan that credits customer two days a week of free electricity, those being their two highest usage days. The plan has a $150 cancellation fee, and a no base monthly charge. The fine print on this plan is quite extensive, so I will simply note it straight from the EFL: Your average price per kWh each month is determined by using the energy charge above and the predetermined formula Price per kWh = (Base Charge + (Monthly billed kWh usage x Energy Charge) + (Free Days kWh usage x $ 0.00) + CenterPoint Energy Monthly Charges + CenterPoint Energy Delivery Charges + $0.00 CenterPoint Energy Free Days Delivery Charges)/ Monthly billed kWh usage *Free Flex Days are the two (2) highest usage days each week, up to a total of eight (8) Free Days per monthly billing period that is 28 days or longer. For billing period of fewer than 28 days, Free Days shall be prorated as follows: 1-3 billing days = 0 Free Flex days 4-6 billing days = 1 Free Flex day 7-13 billing days = 2 Free Flex days 14-20 billing days = 4 Free Flex days 21-27 billing days = 6 Free Flex days 28+ billing days = 8 Free Flex days The charging window for what qualifies as a "day" is the 24 hour period from Midnight to Midnight.
