  Proton Energy is a small, but effective provider.

If an end user wishes to have the 'dashboards' or other bells and whistles of higher priced companies ~then it's better to go with a 'bell and whistle' company; but remember, you pay for those things!

Proton has provided me excellent service thus far as a transferred customer from one of the big four, 'bell and whistle' companies who decided they'd in essence gouge anyone they could with absurd pricing... not to call names, but having grown up in TX, I expected my TX Utility provider to be the best for TX (they are not Texans anymore!)...

Proton is small; local; and not heavily staffed~ so when customer service is required, so too is patience...

I've read the negative reviews about this company, but they appear to be from people who want everything in the world to happen instantly and revolve around them (folks ~life isn't a video game where you get to hit reset), and have obviously never owned or operated a small business enterprise; it's not possible to please everyone, all the time.

I'm very thankful, in an overpriced world, to have a provider such as PROTON ENERGY, be available to the consumer to provide energy at competitive prices (actually significantly less than most other providers)... and I am more than happy to work with them to insure the success of their small business through continued customer loyalty they thus far have shown a desire to work hard to achieve.

Major kudos to PROTON for taking on the big guys.

Keep up the good work Proton Energy.

PS ~you can walk out to your smart meter and read it the same as you can do on the 'dashboard' of big companies by online viewing... seriously, how far is it to your meter? The walk might be good for you! :))

Great Customer Service

  When I call any customer service department I am sometimes surprised to find myself speaking to someone from India or China. Not with Reliant! You will be able to understand them and they will take ownership of your problems. You may find yourself talking about common concerns before you say goodbye or even promising to say a prayer. They have great people on the other end of the phones! And they may live just a few towns over.

The absolute worst!!

  We had several accts active with Amigo Energy (started with Fulcrum and the sold out) and they were messed up the entire time. From wrong names on accounts, bills going to incorrect addresses, to no one answering customer service lines. I will never ever consider using this provider again and would not recommend them in any circumstance.

Shove it

  We have been with TXU for 4+yrs. We have had to pay our $400 deposit 3 times. We called customer service and was transferred Over and over again just to finally get to a manager and we discussed this problem with her and mind you I have every bill pay conformation number, reciepts, bank statements showing the money was with drawled and every monthly bill since being with them and the MANAGER said: our records are not showing that you have paid your deposit so pay it or your electricity will be cut off due to non-payment!! Very unsatisfied. They dont even try to work with you. You call customer service and one person says this and the next one says that. They are unable to answers questions they should know the answer to. For the time we have been with them we heat our home with a wood burning stove...NO HEATERS...during the summer months our bill has never been over $140 with 3 window units and this winter our bill is $200+ every month and we arent even using half of what we use in the summer!!! Makes no sence anyone can look at my last years bills and see that this is not adding up right. Very unsatisfied. Won't recommend to anyone!

Ridiculous "Customer Service"

  My story actually starts a few years ago. I
had rented an apartment with my brother and we
had a horrible time getting TXU to turn on our
power. We were in the downstairs apartment.
TXU sent the connection order to Oncor for the
UPstairs apartment and then had the balls to
insist I pay for my upstairs neighbor's usage.
Nevermind it had already taken almost a full
month to get to THAT point... Now I have them
at my home (glutton for punishment I guess) and
they sent us a disconnect notice. Called them
and they said the payment was processed and
would not be disconnected. This was on
Wednesday. Monday morning, off goes the power.
Turns out the idiot rep had read SOMEONE ELSE'S
account information. How the hell does THAT
happen??? The next rep kept repeating the same
thing over and over. Finally we got to a
supervisor and he was super helpful - sent the
guy back out and everything. We were back on
in less than an hour. I had to ask if I was
really talking to TXU LOL!

  told on 12/29 elec would be on no later than. mon 01/03. said paying extra for priority. its now 01 /04 and still not on.terrible service.
