Great Electricity Usage Tracking Tools & a $50 new customer credit to Boot!

  I live in Houston, Texas and have been a Reliant NRG customer for the past two years after using powertochoose.org to find the best rates that fit my lower energy usage profile. Best Electricity Company!!!!

  I switched from Reliant to Bounce Energy a couple of years ago. Bounce has great low rates, excellent customer service and I receive rewards just for paying my bills. So far I have earned a $50 and $100 bill credits. Bounce Energy is AWESOME!!!!!!

  I'm only on this site because it's time to renew and rates have gone up slightly - just seeing what else is out there. It's interesting to read all of the bad reviews for StarTex - most of which seem to center on customer service. I've been a customer for three years and haven't had any issues with power delivery. As such I haven't had to call customer service. So - take that for what it's worth. Power delivery = great. Customer service = haven't had to deal with it so by default I'd have to say it's fine. If you're looking for a good rate and reliable service I'd recommend StarTex.

Improved Customer Service

  At first I was hesitant to call Discount Power due to the experience I had with them in 2011. However, after holding on the phone for an hour to speak to an Apna Energy agent, I figured I owed them a second chance. I was shocked to find that I got to speak to a representative immediately who later informed me that the management had just changed. The representative was friendly, informative, and knowledgeable about all the questions/concerns I had. He set up my account rapidly, and I was off the phone within 20 minutes!

I am big about customer service and that is something Discount Power has tremendously improved on in the past two years. I would definitely recommend them now after their management change !!!

Great Company, Great Customer Service!

  Have been a StarTex customer since 2008 and have never had a problem with them. Was thinking about getting a little cheaper rate but then read the reviews of the cheaper companies and saw their horrible reviews and decided to pay a little more for good service. My meter broke a few months ago and I was charged an under min fee that I called today to get credited b/c they are estimating my back bills, so I told them I shouldn't have to pay those fees if I'm now paying those months in full and StarTex said they would credit them and I'll see the credit on my next bill. So far I'm a satisified customer and will stay with them another year.

Extremely competitive

  10-7-13: I've read a lot of the previous reviews prior to posting this one, and, while I feel bad for those customers, my experience with Champion has been excellent. They wouldn't be the JD Power rated Top electricity provider three years in a row if they weren't doing a lot of things right. Here's been my experience:

1.) The weekly power tracker emails are easy to understand and extremely helpful.
2.) Whenever I have questions, the customer service people are pleasant and easy to work with.
3.) They have a referral program where you get a 25 dollar bill credit if someone uses your referral id when signing up.

On average, there rates were extremely competitive with every other company I shopped.

Ease of access & payment! Competitive for a long time!

  I have had Texas Power for 5 years. Due to my ability to keep track of contract expirations & negotiaion, I have been able to renew my rate at a competitive level everytime! The customer service is good, and billing is easy! Btw, no price hikes here!

1 Year - No Issues

  Switched from Gexa to Brilliant in 7/2012 due to Gexa pricing going through the roof. Had no issues for the year. Everything set up for auto-bill. No surprises. Not staying with them for the 2nd year simply because of pricing. Rated billing & acct mngt 4 stars instead of 5 simply because they did not get a web portal for the account until 12/2012. With everything on auto-pay, though, never really missed it. Not rating Customer Service because I never had to use it.

Great company for 6 years

  I've had Amigo since 2006 and they have been fine - even gave me the $25 referral credit after I contacted them though they said I didn't put in the right code. Only bummer thing is the $2/mo fee for using a credit card. But changing now because rates are too high... I'd definitely recommend.

  I have been with StarTex Power for 2 years and my contract is up for renewal. I have been happy with StarTex the whole 2 years until I saw that the new rates they're offering their existing customer are too high. Sad to say but I'm most likely to sign up with another provider.
