Glad I switched

  I've had a great experience and don't understand all the negative reviews. My bill is what they said it would be: $35 for usage under 500kwh. I gathered my previous years usage and stuck it in their rate formulas and found it was lower than Stream energy. So far that's been the case and I'm glad I switched.

Short but good experience

  I only went through the ordering and cancelling
process with Startex Power, but it was a
pleasant one. The online ordering system is
very fluid and doesn't feel cumbersome.
Unfortunately I needed to have power within 24
hours and was unaware that Starpower DOES offer
that service, and we signed up with another
company and had to cancel the service with
Starpower. The customer service person was
very friendly when I made this request and she
did explain to me about that 'priority service'
but understood my situation and cancelled the
service with no penalties or issues.

I recommend startex power simply based on the
fact of great customer service, their modern
online services, and their good rates. I'll be
switching to them once my term with this other
company expires.

Bringing back compassion in customer service!

  In a world where many are quick to complain but less likely to praise, my husband and I humbled but the experience with Veteran Energy. We were dealing with a nightmare of a situation with our previous electricity provider where we were left without power in freezing temps for 24 hours. We were unsure where to turn due to an internal error by the previous company. We were stressed, exhausted and frustrated to say the least.

My husband researched and found that Veteran Energy provides a discount to military and veterans. Great bonus first off considering most rates per kWh and hidden fees we were able to find after digging into many of the rate plans found. After contacting them and speaking to Cameron we instantly felt we were in good hands. We had to place a call back at our request and spoke to Marcos and then his supervisor Roberto (for a positive reason). The integrity (yes we are saying this about a utility company), dignity, compassion, patience and dignity shown from start to finish left us truly humbled by our experience. We are truly thankful for the time, attention to detail and quickness of each member of the Veteran Energy team we spoke with. Each one of these representatives from Veteran Energy reminded us of what customer service truly is. They are a great asset to this company and represent the face of the company well. In a world where it seems most companies have forgotten what customer service is it was a breath of fresh air to have this experience with this company.

Thank you to each one of you (Cameron, Marcos & Roberto) for the outstanding customer service we received and for making this such a personable experience! Thank you for restoring the trust and faith we had lost! We are so glad to be a new Veteran Energy customer!

Solid choice for Renewable Energy

  Green Mountain doesn't have the cheapest plan by far, and not even the cheapest renewable plan, but they do have stability, consistency, and reliability. I've been a customer for several years now (coming up on my third contract renewal) and I'm very wary of switching away from GME even if it means potentially saving $1000 a year on power. Their website is easy to use and intuitive. Averaged billing great.

The ONLY negative I ever experienced was when I was not paying attention and missed the contract renewal. Once you switch to "month by month" expect to be paying almost DOUBLE the rate. To be fair, they did send me ONE letter about this, and from what I'm reading many companies are much worse about not nudging the customer to renew a contract so the company can reap those sweet, sweet month-to-month rates. So stay on top of that contract renewal!

Best rates and Great Customer Service

  I switched to Breeze Energy 2 months ago. My previous provider had supper low rates for the initial 12 term but wanted a really jacked-up rate to renew. Breeze offered the lowest rate plan of the 18 providers I checked for my usage profile. Strange that even though the price of natural gas is so low a 100% wind provider has the lowest power rates. I set up my credit card for autopay on my first payment. For some reason the second auto payment didn't happen. I called Breeze, the representative was very helpful, he confirmed that I was set up for autopay and credited back the late fee. I checked my account on line and the credit was there. Their weekly usage e-mail showing current and previous weeks comparison of usage is also a nice feature. Well see what happens to the rate at the end of this 12-month term but so far Im very satisfied.

Great for people that watch their budget!

  I have been with 4change for a couple years now. When I moved I saw they had a fixed plan up to 2,000 KW. Not knowing how good the AC would work, I chose the fixed plan. It is nice because it is a low set amount every month. So, no big surprises!

Champion Energy, solid choice for electricity needs

  The process was simple and transparent. They send a weekly usage report which is very helpful in understanding how your energy consumption varies, by day and time relative to the outdoor temperatures. The billing services is easy to understand and straightforward.

6 months paying market rate

  Called them today to verify my bill and was informed that I was paying market rate since I was on a month to month basis. Last March or so I got a call from Bounce that my contract was expiring and would I like to renew with a 2 year plan for long term savings. The one year plan had better rates at the time so I went with that deciding to risk the market. When I told the gentleman that today he said they had no record of that contact (as if that's a story anyone would make up) and he was sorry for the inconvenience but there was nothing that could be done. I knew my bills were higher this summer but we had record heat and I chalked up to that. I didn't even know they had a month to month plan which I would NEVER knowingly choose anyway.
They've been good in every other respect but this is was their mistake and I paid for it. Going to have to go somewhere else.

Overpricing

  I have only been with Power Express for 2 billing cycles but so far I have not received / seen the cost savings that I was promised when signing up with Power Express from my previous supplier Direct Energy

Too Pricy

  Went with payless power when i moved be cause i was needing lights on asap first couple days were $2.02, and max $4 than all of a sudden got hit with a $9 charge for one day of power. me and my boyfriend are hardly home and haven't used the washer dryer dishwasher etc i red the reviews before i got payless power and i should have listened. $9 a day for a couple is crazy i used to live in a 2 story house with 4 people and we averaged about $5 to $6 a day and that was in the summer. Will be switching companies asap

Run, they will take all your money

  I am on their "prepaid plan" which was suggested by one of their reps. The deal was great but then I notice I was using more money to keep my lights on but literally wasn't at home . I work 6 days and my off day I sleep. After getting my invoice in an email; I spent over 209 dollars for an apartment. When asked about a cheaper rate with using more than 500kWh( which is apt usage) I was not given the correct information. I'm looking for something better and would never recommend this company to a soul. I will be reporting to the BBB.

What you don't know will cost you money!

  I signed for free nights. My first bill was $64.00 for 5 days! They were charging me 11.5 per kWh. My next bill for a month's service was $386+! When I called to ask about the $146.87 "pass thru" charge that was not on my first bill, the rep ignored my question and copped an attitude. When I signed up for the service, no one mentioned that charge I switched back to my former plan where I pay 9.6'per kWh.

Just Energy is a ripoff. You better read the fine print if they stop you in HEB to tell you how much you will save!
