The Best Eletricity Provider!

(5 / 5)

I've switched eletricity providers many times in the past! Reason being they never offer me the same rate. They always go up on price! Well 4 change energy just offered me two more years at the same price I've been paying! Hands down the best energy provider ever!

My fault they made it right.

(5 / 5)

We pay our bill the same day we receive it, but as will happen with electronic bill pay, we filled out the bill pay at our banks website but evidently didn't actually save the bill pay but closed the website before doing so. Figuring the bill was paid we didn't do anything else. We got a late pay notice with a charge of about $26 more than the bill, for late fee and cancellation notice fee. I called customer service and because we have been a 4 year customer with no late payments they quickly credited the charges back to my account. I felt this was more than fair.

Good All Around Provider

Never had any issues with them in 2 years, rates are not the lowest but customer service and billing is very simple.

Account Improvement

(3 / 5)

I was currently with PE, but my plan was expiring. I went thru True Cost. I decided I would continue using PE for the next two years, using True Cost figures. After I was notified that everything was set, I was notified by Centerpoint that PE had rejected me. After spending my valuable time on the phone trying to understand why I was rejected, the account agent says that I was in the plan for which I had signed up.Center point somehow got a false notification from PE.

Wise Buy Monthly = Fraud Potential 100%

(2.8 / 5)

I've had PwP for over a year now without much of a problem - until my latest bill. Up thru Feb 2012, I was on their Wise Buy 12 plan - with no problems - and auto-drafting of my bank account. After Feb, I decided to try their Wise Buy Monthly plan - since I was told I couldn't get the price quoted on their website because it was for new customers only - 1st 3 months went pretty well - my montly kWh charge was $.09 - $.095 - nothing too bad. That changed this last bill - the $/kWh shot up to $.165 - a nearly 70% increase.

And, after going back-n-forth with their Customer Service department, they said that "fluctuations" are normal - per market actions. Their own updated Facts Label for the Monthly plan shows a $.075/kWh figure for Energy Usage - mine was $.127/kWh. My prior month for EC was $.056 - so it really jumped!!!

Pennywise scammed me

(2.6 / 5)

I was a content customer with Pennywise power for a period of 8 months paying an average rate of 9.1 cents per kwhr. I was on a month to month plan with them when I got my June bill my rate had skyrocked to 17.5 cents per kwhr. The justification from them was an increase in electrical demand by Texas residents, yet no other electric company on a month to month plan is any higher than 13 cents per kwhr. I got the run around from them when I demanded an explination. Needless to say I dropped them the same day and am moving to another company under a long term contract. AVOID PENNYWISE.

Not customer friendly

(1.5 / 5)

Be carefully when dealing with this company. Not looking out for customers. Point and case, when I signed up with this company, rates were 14.4 cent per kwh, they are now 11.9 cents per kwh. Do you think they are willing to lower my rate as an existing customer? After a hour of time and three representives, Angel, Abbey and Mike the resolution agent, nope not a chance. So they arent looking out for the existing customers, they are to stuck on you are cancelling the contract. No I am not cancelling, which is $250, I am trying to extend and take advantage of your new rates which would save my household $40-65 a month. I can not wait until Nov 13, 2010, that is when I am able to switch providers. Dont be fooled into they got low rates over lacking in good customer service in which there is none. There resolution is you are stuck with and you will like it or pay us the $250 resolution.

Floating due dates and non posting of payments

(1.4 / 5)

I am just about fed up with these people. They issued me a disconnect notice the day the bill is due which was irritating as anything because the due date was always on the 15th and that month they changed it to the 12th. But that was my first unpleasant experience with them and they did waive the late fee when I called them. Forgiven.... Then I made a payment through their portal like I have been doing since I signed up with these people almost a year ago yet "they never received it". It cleared my Bank of America checking account the evening I made the payment yet after 15 days of still fighting with them, they tell me BOA is famous for taking the money out of an account yet not paying them. Really???? I have never had that problem anywhere else and I have been with BOA since 1988. Had to make the same payment again using a credit card not issued from BOA. Double my payment and they said unless BOA sends the money (again) they won't post the 2nd payment on my account. Can't wait for my contract to be O.V.E.R!!!!

Such Liars

(0 / 5)

I was working in my yard when I was approached by two guys stating that they are working with Entrust a company that works with the state of Texas to assist customer with lowering their electric bill. One guy actually stated that I would still have the same electric company that I currently have but my bill would come from a different company (REALLY!!!!!) I live in LaPorte, I have already alerted the Police Department about this scam....and trust me it is a scam. If I see these guys in my neighborhood I will call the cops!!!!!!!! Just a smart word for the company DO NOT TRY IT WITH ME OR IN LA PORTE

TXU Stinks

(0 / 5)

Service and monthly fee was good at the start. We have had it over a year & 3 Months. Our largest bill didn't go over $238.00. This month $368.05 and called the increase TDU delivery charge & a gross receipts reimb,. charged us $6.77. This is outrageous. And said our contract was not out til 04/16/2016. The only reason we went with them was they said we had no contract.
