Smooth and Painless

(5 / 5)

The title says it all. I've had zero issues with the switch. Reliant was really poking my eyes out. I am very happy with the switch. Champion was not the least expensive, but I had read about other customers awesome experience and went with a company I thought would treat me right if I had any problems.

Help with selection of Military rates.

(5 / 5)

The Direct Energy Chat contact was able to walk me (an existing Direct Energy customer) through the selection of the available Military rates offered, and where the Direct Energy software left me at a dead end with no way to obtain the rate I wanted, was able to verify my Vet status and get me signed up for the renewal rates. The representative was polite, knowledgeable, did a Good Job!

I have had the lowest electric bills ever with 4Change Energy, lower than either Reliant or TXU.

Never a problem

(5 / 5)

We have had Texas Power for 2 years and have never had any problems. They offered us the lowest rate 2 years ago and met that rate again when it came time to renew.

Best Company EVER !!!!

(5 / 5)

I absolutely love dealing with GEXA and their customer service is the best I've ever dealt with. Will most definitely refer to my family and friends.

Awesome Energy Company

(5 / 5)

I have been with Gexa for over 8 years. They have the lowest rates around and the customer service is outstanding. I've dealt with Reliant, Texas Power and numerous others providers and I've never been treated so well. My rates were low in the beginning and have stayed low, much, much lower than any other provider. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Poor renewal offers

(3.4 / 5)

I had the Wise Buy 12 plan (fixed 12 month) and was happy with the pricing and the smooth online automatic credit card payment. However, when it came time to renew, they would not offer me the same deal they offer new customers, but instead offered me a renewal rate that was 13% higher (at the 1000 kwh usage level) and without the $50 bill credit offered to new customers. I called customer service and after 20 minutes on hold, they could not offer me anything better, so I have decided to move my business elsewhere. I know Pennywise isn't alone in this practice, but I don't understand the mentality that it is better to gain a new customer than keep an old one that paid bills ontime. Maybe it makes sense if you are trying to scam existing customers by switching them to a variable plan and hoping they don't notice. Or maybe enough customers are too busy to bother shopping around and just renew at the higher renewal rates without complaining? Oh well.

Ordering from Infinite Energy

(3.2 / 5)

As I was approaching the end of the contract I had with Star-Tex Power (Constellation), I approached IE because they offered a fixed low price for a lengthy period of time. On or about August 9, 2018, I called to enroll with them and asked for a start date of August 24 so as not to incur any charges from exiting too soon from STP. I was assured that would be done. At 4:00 p.m. that afternoon I received an email from IE thanking me for choosing them and informing me that I was already enrolled. When I contacted IE again, they informed me that their system automatically selects "first available." When I informed them that I was explicitly told that my service with them would not begin until August 24 (which they confirmed from their own record of the conversation), they had to begin a rather convoluted process of switching me back to STP for approximately two weeks and then reestablishing my service with them. In my opinion, this was completely unnecessary and should have been handled in a more conscientious way.

The "Spark" is Gone

(3.2 / 5)

Concur with earlier poster about the changes Spark has made. Have been a totally satisfied customer since 2007 using the totally paperless internet plan . They had reasonable rates and no additional fee if you didn't use "enough" electricity.

That has all changed - now rates are higher than other companies and they change a whopping $8.95 if you use less than 1000kw/month.

Can't see any reason to stay with just another greedy provider.

Good for 1 contract term!

(3.2 / 5)

I've been a customer with Simple Power for the past 11 months and I haven't really had any issues. Best part is that their billing is extremely simple and easy to understand. My contract ends in about 3 weeks and they want to raise the rate by over 25% even though I have always paid my bills within a week from the billing date and I've even referred a few people who signed up with Simple Power. I called and requested they reconsider the price hike and they wouldn't budge. I asked the agent on the phone if they even cared that I may switch and the agent was rude enough to say "your contract is up in a few weeks it is up to you to pick a different provider if you want to" and that is exactly what I will be doing by the end of the month.

Fees fees and more fees

(1.8 / 5)

They will send you a $20 fee just for mailing a paper they didn't even need to mail. Horrible customer service. The price and promotions is what drew me in, but beware. Would NOT recommend! Shop elsewhere! I've have a great experience with Star Tex Energy and I'm going back to them!

Horrible billing and customer service!!!

(1.8 / 5)

Potentia was fine until it was time to renew. They lost our renewal letter so we got forced into a month to month rate without knowing. Then got forced into paying that outrageous bill plus a higher fixed rate. When we were told we pay our outrageous bill in two payments they neglected to adjust it on the account as such and we got a disconnection letter plus late charges. Also between getting us switched from the month to month back to a fixed rate they told us they'd adjust one of our bills at our new fixed rate and give us a small credit which they did not do. Needless to say we are very unhappy!

Displeased Consumer

(1 / 5)

Amigo Energy's negligence has cost my family thousands of dollars. Due to their own ignorance in their billing they shut the power off to my property while my family was away on vacation. Upon returning from vacation I had to take another day off from work to clean up the huge mess left by the melting/thawing goods from our refrigerator/freezer(s). When I called the Manager at Amigo they admitted no fault and were unwilling to help with the cost of the losses. More to come on this story!

Terrible

(0.7 / 5)

Like others, I was switched to Cirro from Kinetic.
Their customer service is terrible. I recently
moved and used the opportunity to switch
providers. I had six days of service in one
billing period and they charged me a minimum usage
fee of $15. I talked to a manager and she was less
than helpful, telling me I had no choice. Don't
bother with this company.

RUN!!!!

(0.4 / 5)

In 4 months time, I was billed 2 months bills at a time, called 7 times, talked with 7 different reps with 7 differing stories, was assigned 2 different account numbers, with no verifiable explanations. 2 weeks ago I called to get my bill (they didn't send one to my address or my e-mail account). The rep couldn't find the account, said he'd "get right on it" and call me back. He didn't. Yesterday in my e-mail, got a bill for $233. Today got another one for $378.....at 5:02. Their offices close at 5. Their service blows- their communication blows. Their charges are "fuzzy&", adding up to $150 as an added charge I've yet to figure out. They said they "lost" my bank info, asking to make my last (2-Month) payment over the phone. Then this last (2-month)payment, the e-bill said they'd debit my account. They've lied, hedged, and duped us since we've used them....never again. Run. Don't use them. You'll end up feeling used, abused, and poorer for the experience.

False Advertising

(0.2 / 5)

When my contract expired, I went to their website for customer renewal. It showed an averge price/kwh of 6.8 cents for a 24 month contract. After receiving my first biil under the new contract, there is now an additional $99 dollar TDU charge that had never been charged seperate before. This makes the average price 10.4 cents per KWH. They falsely advertised the 6.8 cents a KWH. Called customer service and was told I signed up for 10.2 averge, but I have an email stating the 6.8 average. They would not work with me other than giving me a 14 day window to cancel contract without penalty.
