moving to a pre-owned house, we will see if we have electricity

For our particular situation, Power Express came out on top when using texaspowerguide.com. Signed up via Power To Choose. Online sign-up relatively easy, but had to call customer service to get a couple of questions answered.... customer rep polite but terse. Got confirmation email quickly after signup saying "You're all set". But a bit later (while we were out signing up other utilities) received another email from customer service that they could not confirm my identity and needed a picture ID. and a while later (still away from email) received 2 other emails one saying problem solved and the other saying that since I had not responded they were "closing the ticket". Sent a picture of drivers license and tried to call customer service to ascertain what was what, but they are closed after 6PM and on weekends.
With all the confusion, we will have to wait and see if we really did get signed up with Power Express at our new address.

Am now in need of anti-anxiety medication

(1.6 / 5)

Have 2 accounts with this company and have never been late on a bill. Customer service is frequently difficult to understand and can be rather rude at times. Service lacks any degree of personalization and you will have difficulty reaching anyone that would be in a supervisory position. A resolution specialist is of no help as they,to, provide the wrong information, thus, further delaying a resolution to the problem and creating a late charge for me. They are very inflexible and refuse to explain the reasoning behind decisions. This has and is causing me loss of sleep and so far the only way to rectify this is to pay them $500, because they refuse to issue a simple form requested by another company (won't explain why) These people have, literally, had me in tears.I will be "fussing" about all of this on facebook, etc... All of this originated with a customer service rep. giving me the wrong information.

Customer service worst, I m calling them from last 2 months to explain my bill, they said they will call back in 2 weeks, I callled again & again worst behavior from CSR, when I say I will cancel my contract they gave me fear to make my credit bad, we dont have that much use still get higher bills, when I called first for connection they say I can change my plan within 2 months but they show me different face after that

FALSE GIFT CARD PROMISES

(1 / 5)

This company gives you a false belief that you will receive a 100 dollar visa gift card but they fail to explain all the red tape and numerous ways to avoid giving you that gift card. Best to get out before your promotion ends because your price will almost double.

unclear rate plan

(0.8 / 5)

I locked in my rate for 2 years. In the small print, I missed the fact that they could charge me 16 cents a kilowat hour if I used more than 2000 kilowat hours! I feel that I was misled and duped!

Don't believe Champion's balanced billing

(0.6 / 5)

I switched from Gexa after two years with them. I was looking for a better price (most of these companies seem to be more interested in getting new customers than keeping existing ones) and because of good reviews. I had used balanced billing under Gexa and, while they did adjust on occasion, the billing was consistent. When I talked the Champion customer service as i was making the switch, I couldn't have made it more clear that my goal was to have the same charge every month. I like to schedule all my bills using my bank's computer pay system. When I received the first bill, it was significantly higher than I'd been quoted. I knew the estimate did not include Centerpoint delivery charges but the bill was still higher than expected. When I called, I was told that Champion's idea of "balanced billing" was charging me the same amount for THEIR portion of the bill but the Centerpoint delivery charges would vary every month by usage. I don't see how they can call that balanced billing. For the two years with Gexa, they based both the usage and delivery charges on the average monthly usage. Every month my bill showed an "accumulate variance", either positive or negative depending on the time of year. It allowed me to schedule the same amount every month to be paid automatically by the due date. If I'd understood their program, I'd have stayed with Gexa, even with slightly higher rates.
