  I love my fixed rate for my electricity but now that my contract is up next week my renewal rate is double which means I will be leaving. I guess one year of great rates is all I get.

Management Change? Billing farce

  I used to be very happy with Bounce Energy; reasonable rates and the occasional promotion BUT I suspect there was a management change late it 2011 and some financial VP has sought ways to cut costs and push up profit. Because they only accept electronic fund transfers from two banks my online checking (Ing now Capital One 360) has to send paper checks. This worked fine until early 2012 when checks that had been posted after 5 to 8 days started to take 30 days and even 45 days. I was, and still am, convinced that they cut back on accounts receivable staff or deliberately held checks to get late or disconnect fees. I always paid on-line the day I was notified a bill was available and never waited for the paper bill but when I got a warning my bill was due and unpaid had to call three times with a credit card. Then things went back to normal it seemed but it was worse. A few months later I had a disconnect warning and when I called was told they had stopping sending the COURTESY emails. Now I just send them a big chunk of money before the bill is due, after paying last month I still have an $82. Anyone who doubts this can have proof of date checks issued and date cashed, I even wrote to the TDJ who I assume don't care about consumer ripoff if it's hard to prove they hold checks.

Hidden "Deliver" charge after 2 years-BEWARE of renewing!!

  I recently renewed my service because I absolutely loved the service and were the most competitive energy company out there. I renewed my service as I never intended to go anywhere else. Then recently I looked at my previous two bills wondering why my bill was so much higher. Then I see these "Delivery" charges on my account that are almost equal to my entire bill itself. I CANNOT believe this, and after I called and spoke to a representative, they said that the new contracts now have a delivery charge and the old contracts are no longer being used and if I wanted to change that I would have to pay a 150.00 charge. I referred this company to everyone and now I am warning everyone. I am extremely disappointed at how they take advantage of their faithful customers.

  I've had TXU for years...at 3 different addresses (were renting) and our bills were always within the same margins $140-$180. It wasn't until we moved into our new house that I had any problems with them. We've only been there for two months, and the first bill was $248. I thought, okay, it's a bigger house and it's been cold so we've been running the heater. But then I received our second bill and it was over $400! And $119 of it was the AEP delivery charge! I looked back in our previous one and the AEP charge was $98. I switched companies right away to one that happens to have a steady monthly charge of just $9.98 per month for delivery charges.

  Worst customer service ever. I can't believe I am locked into a 6 month contract with these people. They started my service a month late on a random date, sent me the wrong bill for another customer, I have no clue what they can possibly be doing over there... This is a joke of a business.

  I pray I could get out of my contract. The Regional distributor in McAllen TX lie to me giving me a rate and not telling me about the other charges so it made the bill more expensive. That's how he gets his customers and at the end we pay more. Don't be fooled!!!!!!!!!

Horrible Customer Service

  Have a commercial building in McAllen Texas. I had ordered STARTEX to stop service due to a new tenant coming into the building. Low and behold STARTEX failed to stop service and tenant ran up a bill under my name. Then had a bill collector hounding me for the bill and was extremely rude and offensive. Having to clear up a problem created by STARTEX that should have been avoided by them. Definitely would not recommend and will never consider them due to bad service, ignoring my requests, and extremely rude unprofessional behavior.

Not What They Advertise, AT ALL!

  To make a long story short, they charged me double the amount I expected to pay. I only used about 800kw for the first month and since I never kept my balance at $35 or higher they feel its okay to charge for that. Isnt that absolutely ridiculous?! Anyway, it might be okay with other customers but to me it was unnecessary to keep putting money into my account to keep it at $35 or more in order to supposedly pay 20% less than their competitors. I highly doubt it.

  As I am trying to pay my bill, your crappy new system cant not "find" my account with the account number I provide that you text me with everyday. Also can not find my account with my phone number, that I used to set up the account. I need to pay to avoid disconnect but NO OFFICE IS OPEN until tomorrow? What kind of company has such limited customer service hours? SWITCHING RIGHT AWAY.

  They do not follow the Average Price per kwh they quote on the Electricity Fact Labels. I entered a 3 tier price energy plan for 12 months. From month one even with $100 credit the cost per kwh did not average to .024/kwh and when I did go over 2001kwh the average cost quoted was .074kwh. Instead I got billed at their prime rate of .12406/kwh . My bills were the highest ever. DO NOT CONTRACT WITH THIS DECEPTIVE ADVERTISING COMPANY.

This is the first company I deal with that does NOT follow the Fact Sheet that all companies provide to let you know what your average price per kwh will be.
I had to early terminate this company before they robbed me this summer. Im super happy with my new company that does follow the power fact sheet.
