I wanted to repost my rating

(5 / 5)

I wanted to repost my rating, because I have not had any issues whatsoever with Champion in the five months being with them. Also, I had used one of the referrals here and got my $25.00 off my bill like they said I would. I wan't to thank all of the people that has used my referall code to save even more off my monthly bill. So, BIG THANK YOU!!
(I just signed up with Champion energy. I was with Sharyland and they deregulated, causing me to find a new provider. I tried to do my homework and found this review site. I am impressed with the reviews and what set them apart was someone with Champion monitors all reviews and responds to all of them. Good or bad. I called them to get service, but they didn't have Sharyland yet. I left them my phone number and thought no one would ever call me back. I was wrong! Paula called like she said she would. She looked at all the plans and got me setup in no time. Also while doing my homework, I found that they were on the JD Powers award web site and was the top of the list. I hope I don't sound like I am advertising for Champion, I was impressed with all I found. I hope I find that I made the right choice.)

no problems at all with Champion

(4.8 / 5)

My 12 month contract is up and I have had no problems at all with Champion. I just renewed for 24 months, because I feel I will continue to be problem free. You can read my past review to see why I originally chose Champion and I still feel the same as before. I have not seen any of the price increases on Champions billing, except for Sharyland increases. Champion has all charges broke down for you to see, unlike some REP's who bundle everything together so you won't see the increases. Thank you for reading my review.

Well I just signed on with Champion.

(4.4 / 5)

Well I just signed on with Champion. Sharyland deregulated and I had to find a new REP. Did my investigating. Found Champion had JD power awards and someone always responds to every review on this website. So I called them and they were super nice and got me signed up. I used a referal ID I found here to save me $25 on my bill after 60 days. So, please use my ID to save you and me another $25.

VERY Poor customer service. The call center is located in the Phillipines, or timbuctoo....no help there. Online customer service was worse........snide remarks from online personnel. I will sign with a new electric service provider ASAP.

Source Power and Gas:Needs to Learn Customer Service

(2.6 / 5)

I switched to Source in April 2013. I was thrilled at the lower rate. Everything was fine until I got my first bill, which was due more than a week earlier than what I thought I had set up. I'm disabled. I do not receive my income until the 5th of the month. When I called them about it, they said they only give a 14 day time period to pay the bill. They never said that to me when I was signing up and discussing that I needed my billing due date to be the 5th of each month. It took a lot of haggling to get my original agreement implemented, and then they acted like they had really done me a big favor. So, that lasted from May to August billings, and when I go to pay my bill on the 5th, I discover I have a late fee for being past due.... because they have suddenly upped my due date to the 3rd of the month, without any notice. Then suddenly after 21 years of disability under the State of Texas, the state changes disability providers, and gives all of us on disability a 14 day notice of the change, and that our checks for the month of September will not be direct deposited, and will be reduced by as much as 75% of our disability income for the month. So I call all my creditors and are able to make arrangements with all of them for a delayed payment until the next month without any late payment fees or disconnections... all except Source. I have 21 major health problems and one of them is fatal. Source to this moment has refused to grant me an extension to my next due date, Oct. 3. They are at this moment cutting my electricity off as of September 22, 2013. I am a 63 year old woman who lives alone. This act of non-humanity in extenuating circumstance beyond my control is nothing short of evil. For a brand new company, their lack of simple humanness is incredulous. I will be changing back to Reliant, my former electric company of many years come April 2014 when my contract is up. With "customer service" like this, who needs it? You'd think a new company would have much better business savvy to not only attract customers with better rates, but actually be a top notch company in customer service to retain them. Basic law of life, if they don't treat you in a compassionate manner in business, they don't need your business. They will not be getting mine back. I have candles. What little food I have will ruin. At least I'll still be able to take hot baths... my water heater is gas... and my gas company told me on the first call and explanation of my predicament, "no problem, and we'll waiver a late fee". You could learn something from this Source. Otherwise, word will get around quickly about how lousy a company you are, low rates or not.

Overpriced

(2.4 / 5)

Very overpriced. I never had an issue with Reliant but they would not work with me to lower their outrageous rates. As soon as my contract expired they jumped me up to $.15/KW. Good company but not worth paying double the price.

Terrible Company

(1.4 / 5)

They messed up our address repeatedly and we ended up getting threats to have our power cut off if we didn't pay our bill. We never received one since they messed our address up and had to call them to see what was going on. They told us their were late fees and charges added, but didn't say we had any time to pay our bill. Why should we pay for their incompetence on messing up the address!!?!

Switched immediately to another supplier. Customer service rep was demanding immediate payment or we would lost electricity.

Terrible experience all round.

fed up

(1.3 / 5)

1st calls to customer "care" (located in the Phillipines where TXU representatives are hard to understand)were wasted. TXU rep could not help with my problem. Online customer "service" was worse....they said to call customer service. Finally after several calls and emails, I got a person who could help me. I'm now researching a NEW retail electric provider.

Money not being paid to correct accounts!

(1.2 / 5)

We have had Cirro for many, many years! I have been paying for two different properties with one check for YEARS. I have had NO problems when my payment went to Dallas. Since October,2017, they have messed up the payments. I write on checks which property goes with which amount. Plain an simple. Right? Wrong. They have messed up our two properties Oct. Nov.Dec.an now Jan. I have talked 1to 1 1/2 hours on phone Oct, Nov., Dec. an this month. I also sent them what checks were wrote. How much monies went to each property. I also wrote the date they ran the checks thru! We are paid in Full for both properties, but they keep putting money to other Accounts!!! They keep sending out Cancel notices, which if happens they will be sued an pay expenses! We are paid in FULL for both, if they would just READ CHECK! Since this happened I guess good came from the mess. We switched an will be paying 3 cent LESS a kilowatt. An only a 4.50 extra fee. Wont be paying as much an less Agrivation! YES! I would not recommend, has done a Loyal Customer that paid in Full an on Time wrong!!

Scam Company

(1 / 5)

Horrible company. They do present with the lowest price but will nickel and dime you erroneous amounts and harass you for calling them and pointing out this bleeding of money. My guess is the goal is to make customer angry enough they leave mid contract and OE still gets the cancel fee. PUC states they have several complaints on them. The president is Tanweer Ahmed, VP-MOid Ahmed, Reg Rep/Manager Sheed Faiz, Iftkhar Ahmed is listed as operations manager. The only multi star ratings come from those of same origin of decent.

Disappointing is an understatement.

(1 / 5)

TXU's moving service and associates there really messed up our account and they've done very little about it Long story short, we purchased a new home and wanted to move our service over. Our initial move in date got pushed back, so I called TXU to cancel my oder to shut off service. "Sure, no problem," the rep said. "I've submitted your request, so you don't have to worry about losing power. We will no longer shut it off that day. Your new cutoff date has been submitted." Like a fool, I believed him, until my power went out on the day I requested it not to....It wouldn't have been as big of a deal to us if I hadn't just gone grocery shopping. I called and the rep I spoke to said she was sorry, and she knew it was a mistake on TXU's part, but that no one was available to come and turn our power back on. We argued with them for 2 hours before we gave up and spent the night without power. It was 12 hours before our power came back on, so when I went to check the fridge, nothing was cold anymore. The food in the deep freezer survived at least. At this time, I'm still in negotiations with their claims department, trying to get reimbursed for perished food items. Wish me luck. I could have made my own luck though, had I switched over from this company a long time ago. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone I know, not even the ones that annoy me.

BILLED after account closed!!!

(0.9 / 5)

unbelievable - after my good supplier sold to Cirro. Switched and paid Cirro, over paid even. SO CIRRO sent me a bill after couple of months saying late payment and that I owed them six cents...... What they got paid on time, over paid by 1.07$ and now this
I switched to Reliant as they have their billing act together
