Excellent service

(5 / 5)

Love the fact that in the year i was with them i had zero issues. Prices are also excellent. Not the cheapest but most of the time you get what you pay for.

so far, so good

(5 / 5)

I have only had Power express for a couple of months but we are happy with the service, the plan and the price. It's so nice to have a choice.

Very easy to work with and it was a simple change of a natural gas provider.

Great Company - Great Rates

(5 / 5)

After switching to 4Change Energy, we have save a considerable amount of money on our electric bill. First time any electric service provider has offered to renew our plan at the same great low rate. As retirees, this is a major plus. Thank you.

My First Monthly Bill from Veteran Energy

(5 / 5)

I was anxious to get my first bill from Veteran Energy because it seems that every electricity provider is somewhat different in how the monthly billing statement is presented. I've found most utility bills to be pretty confusing. It seems there are always at least some surprises in the beginning until you figure out all the line items which comprise your total charges.

In other words, it's often hard to fully understand what you signed up for until you've already signed up.

Not so with Veteran Energy.

I happened to use about 1,100 kilowatt hours during my first month's billing cycle which made me automatically entitled to a generous credit under the plan I had signed up for. There were absolutely NO CATCHES WHATSOEVER. The bill was simple, concise, and honest with no "hidden charges" that I wasn't already expecting.

I've already received top-notch customer support from team leader Roberto (ext. 13272) and Lynn (ext. 3276). Roberto originally signed me up after thoughtfully explaining how everything works and Lynn later went over my first bill with me and explained all the different payment options available and helped me set up automatic monthly drafts from my checking account.

She even congratulated me on receiving my credit!

Lynn and Roberto definitely went over and beyond and I'm already spoiled. I wish more companies had such high-caliber professionals providing customer support.

I deeply respect that Veteran Energy makes generous contributions from their own profits to such a large number of wonderful organizations whose sole mission is to help America's veterans.

Because my cousin - Kenneth - was killed in Vietnam in the early 1970's, I chose the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) as my charity of choice.

I believe one would be hard-pressed to find a better electricity provider than Veteran Energy. **==

Very Pleased

(5 / 5)

We had a great experience with Green Mountain. We had the Pollution Free Conserve 12 Choice plan, a 12 month fixed rate plan. We selected the plan online at powertochoose.org, and the transition from our old company to Green Mountain was seamless. Prior to this, we had a decent introductory rate with Reliant, but our Green Mountain rate was even better. We were continually surprised at how low our monthly bill was. We never encountered any hidden fees or changing rates. Green Mountain took care of the transition service for us, so I never had to bother with canceling our old plan. I love their renewable energy mission - even more so when it's offered at a very affordable rate! I would stick with Green Mountain for another year of service if only we could keep those introductory prices. Definitely recommend this energy company.

Full disclosure: I actually never had any contact with their customer service because we never needed it! However, I didn't want to negatively impact this review by leaving it blank, so I gave it 5 stars like all their other areas of service.

GME 4 Life

(5 / 5)

I've seen a lot of negative reviews on this site. Some of them have ground to stand on, most of them do not. If you see one that says, "They changed the rate on me," it's because they chose month-to-month. I've only ever done 1 year contracts and I've been using this company for 4 years. They've lowered my bill to an affordable rate all while doing it green. I used to pay $215 a month for a 3 bedroom house on the "cheapest" energy company rate before I found GME. They lowered my bill to $87 and I haven't paid a dime over that since. My current bills are around $28-$24 a month for a 1 bed 1 bath apartment, and I couldn't be happier. It's companies like these that are working to make living affordable. Not to mention you get updates on how many trees you've saved, CO2 emissions you've prevented and that's gratifying in it's own right. There are cheaper companies out there, but I personally would rather pay a little more for a Earth friendly company. I want my grandchildren to know what winter is like. Great company, very affordable rates, ONLY GREEN energy company in Texas, and one of the best customer services experiences I've literally ever had. Forget these naysayers, I've done the research and I know what I'm talking about. I'm a disabled veteran who lives on a fixed income. I have nothing but time to do things like research ways to save myself money. http://electricityscout.com/texas/nacogdoches/ Check this link out for information about companies in my area. As you can see there is only one green. I hope this was helpful to you all, and I hope you continue to make wise decisions to better yourself and/or your families lives. God bless America.

True to Their Word

(5 / 5)

I switched to Champion because they had a better rate. However after switching, my former provider talked me into coming back which turned out to be a huge mistake as they lied (see review of TXU titled Liars). When I contacted Champion to try and come back they were extremely helpful and true to their word. They conducted a "market track" which I found out from Public Utility Commission cost them money to do but was necessary in order for me to return. Also they credited the early termination fee back to my account which they did not have to do. Each customer rep I spoke with was helpful and pleasant. It is refreshing to find a company that follows through with what they say they will do. If this proves to be how Champion conducts business I will be a loyal customer for a very long time.

Awesome Experience

(5 / 5)

I have been with a few providers for the past 6 years. I have never been so happy to see my bill. Kinetic has no hidden transmission fees, it's a flat rate, and a flat monthly charge. Customer service is so easy to call if you need ANYTHING!!! They all are from the U.S. so you can understand them. And they don't charge for customer service like Reliant Energy. I would suggest anyone to switch to this company. No secrets, hidden surprises, and very honest with their business.

Pleasedcustomer

(5 / 5)

VERY Satisfied!!! I had someone from TXU come buy my house and he asked me to show him my last bill from Mission Power so he could tell me how much I could save if I switched to TXU. After he saw the bill, he couldn't stop saying the rate I am paying. He left abruptly without telling me my savings, because he couldn't even come CLOSE. Thanks Mission Power.

all I need is power at a good low rate

(4.7 / 5)

I joined misson about 6 months ago after my electric bills skyrocketed to $450 or more a month for a 1700 square foot home. Could not register online, I had to call to switch, not as convenient as other companies but the switch was seamless. The bill once I changed was shocklingy low compared to be TXU rate which had apparently been bumped over the years. Mission had the best price + term + rate and so far have been extrememly happy.

Love having the choice to go pollution free

(4.6 / 5)

I've had Green Mountain for three years now and it's been great. Can't complain. They're the only company I can find that only does renewable energy and also offsets all of their carbon emission from their operations. Haven't had any issues with billing. It's been about the same price.

Just as Competitive as Other Companies, Excellent Customer Service

(4.6 / 5)

I have used several providers since the beginning of Deregulation in Texas, this company has always been just as competitive and unlike many other companies, they actually breakdown the Energy and Transmission charges. To some it may seem like a "hidden fee" but other companies just bundle it all up, I like that I can see the two seperate charges. Once I was charged a $7.95 "monthly service fee" for usage less than 1,000 kwh, because my billing dates were not a full month, their customer service representative was happy to waive that fee. Our contract is expiring soon and we will be signing up again, hopefully for a longer term as we have been extremely pleased.

Reliant Is Good Provider

(4.4 / 5)

I have had good experience with Reliant. It appears that for long term customers, they offer special plans that are otherwise not available. I believe a lot of people's complaints result from their not understanding the pricing structure upfront and they may not analyze their actual costs and compare provider rates properly. Also, many people do not realize how much their actual usage can vary from month to month. To get the best understanding of company offers, the monthly power consumption in kWh from the previous year should be used to the calculate each month's cost under the new plan offered by each considered provider using the base cost of the power provider, plus the base cost of the transmission line provider and his other additional costs, the power cost of the power provider, the power related cost of the transmission provider and any other costs on the Electricity Fact Sheet. Using this method to calculate the total annual cost for each provider considered, provides a fair comparison. It is important to carefully read all parts of the Electricity Fact Sheet because of additional fees not mentioned in the pricing section.

Rate increase not communicated

(3.8 / 5)

Had Titan for a 1 year contract. Competitive prices. Satisfied with service. When contract expired, I intended to just continue having Titan supply our electric. However, I noticed the generation and transmission portion of my bill suddenly more than doubled, went from 5.8 cents/KWh to 12.25 cents/KWh. I called and found if I sign up for another year it drops back to 5.79 cents/KWh, which I did. However now I am saddled with a couple of months of significantly higher charges until the new contract takes effect. This is the kind of thing that just frustrates me to no end. At no time was I made aware that the price more than doubles on a monthly basis until I realized my bill was unusually high for this time of year. Remember, business goes where it's invited, and stays where it's well treated. Titan, if you want to retain customers you must treat them better than this.

Green Mountain Energy - The Cleaner Choice

(3.8 / 5)

Green Mountain Energy is the largest retail provider of cleaner electricity in the nation.
Last month I used 1,954 KWh of electricity which is the equivalent of 416 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions avoided and 463 automobile miles not driven.

I absolutely recommend Green Mountain Energy to others.

they all get your money one way or another

(3.4 / 5)

the reviews here for reliant energy are mostly unfavorable...yes, there are some cheaper plans out there, but doing the comparisons takes a great deal of time, and in the end, there are added fees or a difference in a disconnect or change fees that make up for a few cents per kw hour rate..i have been a customer of reliant energy since the start,as i had houston lighting and power before that who changed to reliant energy, who is now reliant energy an nrg company..sum total it comes to well over 30 years at different residences..their telephone customer service is ok,not great, but at least they answer the phone..if you have a problem, you are referred to centerpoint energy who actually handles the transmission of the electricity and any outages, and their telephone reps can be rude..reliant is basically just the billing name or so i was told,,in fact, centerpoint handles most of the electric companies you can choose from and they read the "smart meters"...if you rplan was changed to something "similar" to what you had (this has happened to me a few times)it is because of changes in regulations and lately , because of the new smart meters that can be read from the street..i am disappointed they no longer have the "wind driven" power, but if you want that, it is about 14.5 cents per kw with the other companies...overall reliant is as good as the others...i will have the newest "nights and weekends" plan when my contract expires, so i may change my mind!!

Excessive Transmission Charges

(3.2 / 5)

Been with Reliant for forty years but feel it is now time to move on at the end of the current plan. This month my electricity usage was $90.00 and the transmission and other charges dinged me for another $50.00. I haven't seen such high charges for transmission since I have been on this current horrible plan. I am a senior so I am concerned.

They're alright

(3 / 5)

Green Mountain has been my provider for the past five years. The only thing I don't really like is the amount you pay - at first it was fine, and now I'm looking to change. It's great if you're "green" and they provide information about how much emissions you've saved and how many trees to the equivalent you've "virtually" planted but I need less per watt hour. I'm going to move on. Good luck - they're not bad but I could do better.
