Really great, affordable option.

I really have no issues. Great service, and convenient ways to pay. Love being able to see what I use on a daily basis.

You Rock Acacia Energy

(5 / 5)

I am so glad a friend recommended Acacia Energy to me. I am finally able to afford electricity without paying an arm and a leg for deposits and high bills. I love the fact they have a deferment program that allows me up to $75 to help cover electricity if I am not able to pay. The repayment is totally affordable and is taken out once a month. Of course I have a choice of paying more or paying the deferment in full. I would definitely recommend Acacia Energy to anyone looking to switch to a company that really cares for it's customers.

Amazing

(5 / 5)

I have changed electricity services about every year or two for the past decade. They generally start out well, then the problems begin. Now I've only been with 4Change Energy for a few months, but the prices are not just lower, they are the lowest I've ever had. And I love the fact that a percentage goes to local charities.

Love Proton Energy!

(5 / 5)

I have been a customer for over a year now and I am very satisfied with Proton Energy! I have a 4 person family and our bill is usually never over 100$. Great customer service and they work with you. I'm a very happy customer! I've used reliant and txu...all rip offs! If you are contemplating switching I would highly suggest it!!

great provider for us!!

(4.8 / 5)

We are a non-profit community provider in Odessa and First Choice was great. We are saving about 450-500 dollars per month. This helps with the budget. Wish we had this provider many months ago. We did start Aug 2011.

Never in the Dark

When our contract was up I called and negotiated a new rate and our loyalty was considered in the rate we received. What a blessing. It made me feel you appreciated my business.

Leave TXU Electric

(4.4 / 5)

So far my electric bill has been almost 1/4 of txu electric and they dont put you on ridiculous plans. I was paying about $400 a month for average billing.

Outside salespeople

(2.4 / 5)

Champion hires other companies to go door-to-door, selling their services. The person who signed us up told my mom that she should be getting a discount of up to 40% because she is over 70 and that she could get the discount after her first full bill if she signed a 36 month contract. The only discount that Champion offers is a 10% and that is only on a 24 month contract. They took the person's information, but as he does not work directly for them, I doubt that there is anything they can really do. Personally, I felt that they could have offered her the 10% discount at least for the 24 months, but her contract is too long. On top of all of that, her bill was actually $70 higher than with her original company. We're stuck for 35 more months, and then we are out of here. Champion made no effort to make things right, and they should and could have done better.

Bad Billing Management

(2.4 / 5)

Cirro screwed my account payment and then penalized me for their mistake. Thank God only have two months left with contract. Currently shopping for new electric company.

Good company until it is time to renew

(2.2 / 5)

Entrust called and sent a few letters telling me that my contract was up and it was time to renew. I decided to go with a different company that had a better rate. Entrust then hit me with a $200 early cancelation fee. They had told me that my contract was up. It turns out that I actually had 2 weeks left on the contract. Customer service was no help. When trying to talk to a supervisor about lowering the fee they just say that no one is available but that they will have someone call back but no one ever does. I will not recommend this company to anyone. $200 for being 2 weeks early is excessive and since I switched companies they will not work with me.

Not a happy customer!

(1.8 / 5)

I've been a customer now for almost a year. We've had issues several times. I paid it a couple of months ago before they shut it off and they disconnected it and charged the $25 reconnect fee. I called and complained and was told there was nothing they could do. This month they granted an extension until 5 pm. At 5:10 a $25 reconnect was charged even though it was not disconnected. I will be switching and would not recommend them to anyone. I have never had so many issues from an electric company in my life!

Do not do business with TruSmart

(1.4 / 5)

I've had AutoPay set up with TruSmart since I signed up. It worked for a year and then suddenly stopped working. I can't access my account online and I can't re-register as the customer service voicemail tells me to do because there is a bug in the registration that WILL NOT ALLOW me to register. When I try to pay by phone, it says my account is actually OVERPAID and I can't make a payment, yet I keep getting notices that my account is past due and my electricity will be turned off soon. I can't talk to a human because the phone service send me to a recorded voicemail which directs me to CALL THE SAME NUMBER I JUST CALLED if I want to speak to a customer service representative. This company is a BUNCH OF IDIOTS.

West Texas

(1.4 / 5)

I have not been happy with being charged a late fee plus a 25 dollar collection fee is not paid by the due date { mind you which is changed. If you pay the bill in full early they will give you another due date earlier. Talk to representative and requested copy of all charges for year. but statement did not include the date due. They change the date due every month just about so they can charge you a late fee plus the collection recovery fee. I sent letter of complaint to the Attorney general and better business bereau but they did not do anything about this problem. and just close the case.

Awful!!!

(1.3 / 5)

I switched to StarTex after Texas Power began raising our rates into the $.22 range without notice that our plan had expired. StarTex was great at first, bills stayed low then found out they had been estimating for months. Long story short, ended up paying over $700 in one month ON TIME and they still disconnected us the day after I came home from the hospital after major surgery. It took hours and numerous threats to "supervisors" for them to admit I had payed my bills on time & they never should have disconnected our service in the first place. Even the Oncor employee that came to disconnect us said that he has heard lots of complaints on StarTex. They claim to have great customer service but it is among the worst I have ever seen right behind TexasPower. Swithched to Champion and hoping for a better experience.

Worst experience ever.....Never again will I use them.

(1.2 / 5)

This has been the worst experience ever with the electric company and I had to file a complaint with the Public Utility Commission of Texas to even get an answer. Been living here for 2 months with electricity and even got a bill for a $150 deposit. But all the sudden we got shut off May 1st after we payed $300.00 March 6th then $150 April 17th. They said as of March 8th this meter was on a switch hold so we had to fax them proof we just moved in here on March 16th. At this time we was told it will take 24-48 hrs once fax was received. We waited and STILL at this very moment (5 days have pasted) we have no electricity but on May 1st at around 7:00 pm they confirmed they got the fax... Every time I called all they could say "we emailed our back office and are waiting for them to send back a response". Then when I would check up on it after a few hours they would repeat the same stuff. They say they have no other means of communication to this "back office" other than an email. For 5 days of begging, crying, and pleading with them still nothing. And when I ask them how have we had electricity for 2 months they cant tell me how cuz they don't know, but yet my meter is on a lock down due tempering as of March 8th.Today I finally got someone from there to call me back after I filed a complaint on them today just to tell me the paperwork I sent wasn't matching the county records? Well no shit we go through a "RENTAL" agency. They can't seem to understand that this is our "LANDLORDS" the people we pay rent to.... I would love to just switch company's but I need a deposit to get set up with someone else.... Direct Energy has my $450.00 ... In order to get that money back I would have to wait 4-6 weeks? I finally got them to call my Realtor so they can explain. ... I mean hell I have only told them 20 times to call the phone number on the cover sheet from the fax where it says "If there are and problems please call this number (***)***-****". I will be switching if I do ever get my electricity turned back on......... its 4:21 pm May 6th still am waiting.....ugh...

Do not trust this company!

(1 / 5)

Very unreliable! They are good for the 1st year but after that, they offer me the $78 flat rate plan based on my average electric usage from the past year. Guess what? I recieved a bill worth more than $200! They never explained to me that the $78 flat rate is only for the first 500kwh, anything over that will be outrageous. This is the first time Ive paid over $200 for the past 18yrs. They did not mail me the contract details but they claim that they emailed it to me. I told them that I did not received it. It turns out that they have a wrong email address in thier system The plan was not clearly explained to me. I even told them to play the telephone recording when they offered me the plan. With lack of explanation. I switched back to my original energy company the next day since lve used them for the past 9 yrs. They offered me a lot of incentives just to switched back including reimbursement of the $250 early termination fee by Stream energy. I regret using this company. Never again!
