Good team and service

(5 / 5)

Duke Energy has a comparison website that one can go to and check the different suppliers and their rates. I got Vista Energy thinking it's gonna save me money. Everything has been fine with the Vista representatives I've spoken to over the phone. Their service is fine. However, the way they do the rates is a little bit different than others. One has to dig into it to figure out if it makes sense or not 'cause at first they had the 'a dollar a day' thing. Yet, the actual kilowatt per hour rate is good. I had to do a little bit of math and it worked out for me. So, if you're considering Vista Energy then check them out and see if it works for you.

Satisfied with the Price

(5 / 5)

I went on TPL's power comparison site and I decided which one worked best for me and the term that we were looking for. Vista's price came up and I thought it was good, so I made the commitment. I am satisfied.

My StarTex Power

(5 / 5)

I have been a StarTex Power customer for about 4 years at 2 home addresses, one being an apartment and one being a home and a business. When I first heard of StarTex and changed from "The Bigger and Well Known" company, I was impressed with StarTex's superior customer service, then shocked at the immediate drop in my electric bills. When I was in the process of moving into my home, which did not go as planned, I worked closely with the SAME customer service representative who again did not waiver in her performance and met all of my needs without a hitch. Since StarTex Power had been so awesome with service and pricing, when I opened a business, they again, provided the best customer service and quote. I have dealt with only one other electric company in my life and I have to say there is absolutely no comparison between these two companies. If you are with anyone other than StarTex Power, you should, at the very least, try them for one year. No hidden fees either, just ask.

Great Rates and 100% wind generated

(5 / 5)

This is my second year after being with Green Mountain Energy since they began operations in Texas a decade ago. Breeze Energy is a relatively new Texas owned company. Their rates are terrific, especially in comparison with Green Mountain! No confusing hidden fees. All their energy is produced by wind turbines. You will get a weekly email with your usage and a monthly email invoice with usage for the month compared with the last 12 months. I'm very happy with them!

Awesome company

(5 / 5)

What attracted me to amigo was the free nights. I never heard of the company until i was looking to switch and did a rate comparison and theirs was cheaper.
Been with amigo 3 years and looking for a lot more to come

Renewal price was even lower!

(5 / 5)

I had never been able to choose an electricity provider before, so I was a little uncertain how it would work out when I first chose Gexa in October 2015 when we moved to the area. I was paying 15.0/6.9/8.4 with a $40 bill credit for >999 or <2001 kwh. We are coming up on the end of our 1 year contract, and I received an email from Gexa to review plans. I opened it and then also opened the comparison website that shows all other companies. Not only did the renewal rates beat what Gexa was offering on the comparison website, it far and away beat all the other companies at 12.8/5.7/8.2 with a $60 credit for any month between 1001-2000kwh (which is where we stay).

We have had zero issues with billing or service - and customer service has always responded to my messages promptly and courteously. Can't ask for more than that!

Great customer services, after comparison on several sites decided on going with reliant because they have better reviews, reliable company and they have best price for 12 months contracts right now.

Good Service - Good Rates

(5 / 5)

My husband and I moved from IL to Plano, TX in August of 2015. As part of our move, we were faced with a lot of choices regarding providers. In IL it's just ComEd, so it was difficult for us to decide on who to use here for this service due to the fact that everyone has different rates and in some cases a consumer may even pay a fine for not using enough electricity. What a joke! Before we signed up for this service, I read tons of reviews and called several places, as a result we decided to go with Champion Energy Services. So far, we never had any issues, no fees/fines that we incurred to date, the energy bill is predictable, they even send out weekly comparisons via email so you can track how much electricity you've used this week compared to last week. My monthly bill is pretty reasonable and very similar to what we paid in IL, except for in IL we also got an additional bill from the gas company. Here, electric bill includes my AC as well as heat, and is equal to what we used to pay in IL for just the electricity. Overall, I have no complaints so far and feel like we've made a good choice by using Champion Energy Services.

In addition, you are eligible for a $25 bill credit for each person you refer as well as your referral will also get the same credit towards their bill. If you would like to try it out, you can use the following referral ID, Tterzich51965, and we will both get the credit towards our bill.

Good luck with your choice!

GREAT COMPANY

(5 / 5)

I have been with Champion since May 2014. I have never had problems with billing or anyone in service.
The ordering process was very easy and I have renewed once. During renewal I was considering changing at which point my service rep worked up a spreadsheet for my comparison. She then gave me a competitive rate equal to new service. This never happens!! Champion takes care of their existing customers. Anytime I have a question I email my representative and she answers almost immediately.
And the referral plan is great too. But even without the referral plan or the best rate I wouldn't change because I like working with nice people.

Great Company that does what it says

(5 / 5)

Update from a previous review. I have now been with Champion Energy for a few months now. Still a great company and the customer service is out of sight. They send email reminders to keep you in the loop. They quickly get on a chat session with you. And best of all they are on the phone in a hurry. As a comparison my first month with them I used approx. 1700 kilowatts and I am on the 24 month half price night promotion. I used the same amount the previous month with my old company and my Champion bill was $40 less. Rates are really good. And as they promote---There is no fine print.

AMAZING Customer Service & New Rates!!

(5 / 5)

We just started to check into getting lower rates by comparing online. Our current rates were significantly higher. Through this research I ran across the reviews for TXU who is our provider and has been for 10 years, I was extremely concerned with the very poor reviews. I decided to email the address that TXU used in their review responses. Well my email was sent at 3:00 pm, the first read receipt from TXU was 3:01 pm, TXU employee Elaine Garza ID#XL1L called me at 3:42 pm and was outstanding!! Explained all our options, ran bill comparisons for several periods, explained everything on our bill by line item and how our new bill would look, get our new plan started with our last meter reading even though we were mid cycle etc.etc.etc. I've rarely had exceptional customer service and certainly did not expect it from a huge energy provider but I have to say she provided EXCEPTIONAL customer service!! She got us significantly reduced rates and I will be sure to provide feedback on these once we get our first bill.

Very happy

(5 / 5)

I have been with bounce now for 5 months and had a great experience. I switched to them when another provider jacked up my rate. My plan is exactly as Bounce promised and I even got a discount when signing up. I have called customer service on 3 occasions and never waited more than 2 minutes and each time they answered my question or resolved the concern. I have been with a number of other companies and no comparison.

Great company!

(5 / 5)

I have been with bounce now for about 3 months and they have been the best electricity provider I have had by far. I have been at least 4 others and no comparison. The last provider couldn't figure out why I left when they jacked my rate so high after the initial contract and wouldn't offer anything competitive. I talked with others who had renewed with Bounce and got a very different story. Very happy with the service so far.

Champion Experience

(5 / 5)

EXCELLENT!!!!!!! After a lot of research, spreadsheet calculations, consumer reviews I chose Champion because this company provides wonderful customer service at a very fair and low cost. I know I sound like a commercial , nevertheless, they were ranked HIGHEST in Residential Customer Satisfaction with Retail Electrical Provider in Texas 4 YEARS in a row!!!! http://www.jdpower.com/content/press-release/kVNNnIQ/2013-texas-residential-retail-electric-provider-customer-satisfaction-study.htm . And are ranked high on the Power to Choose website http://powertochoose.org/scorecard/Scorecard.pdf The only costs (besides the base charge and per KwH rate itself) included in almost all REPs bills are: Sales Tax (1% City) & Texas State Gross Receipts Tax on REP income & Texas PUC Assessment, these are the same for every REP. The primary difficulty in making apples to apples comparisons is that the companies dont use the same rate structure. However, excluding the three adders I listed above, which are the same for almost all REPs, the rate can be broken down one or more of the following 5 components:
1. Energy Base Charge, if any, for bills of less than a certain KwH level. This is the fixed charge for being a customer of the REP and is charged ONLY when your usage falls below the defined level, which is most often 1,000 KwH for the month.
2. Energy Base Charge, if any, for bills at or over a certain KwH level. This is the fixed charge for being a customer of the REP and is charged ONLY when your usage falls at or above the defined level, which is most often 1,000 KwH for the month.
3. Energy Usage Charge. This is the charge for each KwH during the month that goes to the REP.
4. TDSP (i.e., CenterPoint for us) Base Charge. This is the fixed charge for being served by the TDSP.
5. TDSP Usage Charge. This is the charge for each KwH during the month that goes to the TDSP.

Keep in mind that some REPs bundle one or more of these components together and so you just use 0 for those charges when computing your bill. A lot of companies tend to have hidden fees. Champion is completely transparent.
Champions website is easy to use; the weekly email usage reports that show daily kilowatt usage / daily temp. in a graph keeps me current on my to usage. Setting up my service was easy and straightforward online at http://www.championenergyservices.com/.

Finally, I like how you can recommend friends and BOTH of you get a $25 referral credit if they use your referral ID. Overall, Champion is a quality company and I highly recommend them. Please use my code only if you like what I had to say. Thank you for your supporting a local Houston Teacher.

Can't believe my savings

(5 / 5)

Had two gentlemen come to my door and say I was pre-approved for a lower rate on my electric bill. I was hesitant at first. They showed me a side by side comparison with my current billing company TXU (comparing apples to apples) & how much I could save. I was shocked TXU was charging me so much and being month to month they informed me my bill could increase every month. Also i was being charged a base charge. I didn't even realize that, now after looking back at old bills, sure enough TXU were gradually increasing my rate each month and had been charging me a $5 charge just to receive my bill. I switched over a few months ago and today googled Entrust Energy to get their customer service number because I lost the one the rep gave me, he said I could call in and switch to average billing if I liked, I ran across this page & felt like I should leave a review. The rep was so nice & left me with his cell number if I had any problems down the road. I have since sent him a lot of neighbors because they were being overcharged as well. Happy & paying around $90 less for a bill I receive anyways. Great company.

They lowered my bill!!!!!

(5 / 5)

Wow I had these two guys in blue shirts knock and ring my doorbell, one of them was in training and the other was a manager. They asked me for my bill and I didnt have one because I was paperless with green mountain, the trainee froze and didnt know what to do and the manager logged in to my green mountain account on his phone, I was getting 16 cents average!!!!!! What a ripp off.... it took us 5 minutes to call houston and make the switch and I got 7.3 for 2 years! They broke down my bill with a side by side comparison and they showed me a 134.85 dollar savings per month! Highly recommend

I'm SO glad that I switched to Bounce

(5 / 5)

Having been a TXU customer for 15+ years I was very hesitant to change providers. When my 2 year contact was up I received a letter from TXU stating that my contract was expiring. My new rate was ridiculously high (they did say to call or log on for offers, but, why not just offer a competitive plan to me in the letter?). So, I checked this website and could not believe Bounce's rates (and no monthly fee with a certain amount of usage). Then I saw that I could even get American Airlines miles - that sweetened the deal. When I compared bounce's rates to TXU there was no comparison - Bounce beat TXU on every level. During the past 2 months I have saved over $150+ vs. what I would have paid with TXU. I wish I had changed earlier as it's the same electricity coming into my home. Do the research and save big money.

Kinetic Energy is the best

(5 / 5)

I have been using Kinetic Energy for 2 years. I have tried Amigo, Spark, and TXU. There is no comparison. They are reliable, dependable and you get no surprises.

Their Customer Service is easy to reach and honest. They actually called me about a month before my 12 month contract expired to help me and ensure I continued to get the best rates.

No high pitch sales people and no stretching the truth. I got the best rate and they did exactly what they promised. They treated me like they cared and wanted to keep me as a customer.

I highly recommend them. You will be very happy with this company.
