  Rates that make you smile instead of cry, and the friendliest, most helpful customer service around. Switching to StarTex was the best decision I made in a long time. Wished I could have kicked Reliant to the curb YEARS ago. Been with StarTex almost 2 years now, and still couldn't be happier!

Summer Energy is a good company.

  I've used over 7 electric companies since moving to Texas. I've been with Summer for over a year now and would recommend them to all shoppers. They have excellent rates when you compare them to other offers. Their rates are all-in rates....while I was with Reliant I got a TDSP charges line item that was routinely 50% or more of my bill. Summer's prices are more in line with what you actually see when you get your bill.

  I have been with StarTex for 2 years now. I have never had any issues with them; they provide wonderful customer service, send bills and expiration notices in a timely manner, and provide easy on-line payment availability. I have recommended them more than once to friends. However, my contract is about to expire and I am sad to say I will have to switch for a more competitive rate. Their offer for a fixed rate is over 10% higher than other companies, and their promotion is a simple $10 gift card.

  We've been with Ambit for just over 4 yrs. We have saved a great deal of money over what we were paying with our former company. The customer service has been wonderful. We have a local rep to call if we ever need anything or have a question.

  Ordered Bounce back in February. They have reasonable prices and I liked this friends fly free thing. To be honest, I thought it was a to good to be true and I would have to jump through 5000 hoops to get it. About 2 months after I ordered, I called them and after waiting on hold a while, I spoke a very nice lady who said I had to be a customer for 3 months before I got it. They could have told me that when i ordered, but oh well. I wanted to use it for my wife when we go down to Disney World. Sure enough, I finally got it and now my wife, kids and I are headed to Florida next month. Saved me about $500.

Billed for disconnect notices?

  My bill has been a low $170 all summer and I got a bill in January for $243???? I spoke with customer service and ask why was the bill so high. I am on free nights. I was told that I was charged an additional fee because they sent a disconnect notice?? This is a joke! I can understand charging for an actual disconnect, even though, all they have to do is hit one key on their computer terminal to reconnect but why charge for sending me a notice? And why change $50-$60 ??

Won't renew but had great service at a good rate

  I have enjoyed 8 cents a killowatt for 12 months. My contract is up in a few days and now their cheapest killowatt per hour is 11 cents. So I'm shopping around.

Not so bad until you run into a problem!

  Weve been with 4change for almost 3 years and never had a problem with 4 change until last month. I was going to pay my payment late so I called the account manager and he told me that I could not pay it late that I jad to pay the full amount. Or my services will be disconnected. Okay, so I borrowed the money and paid it on the date of notice. Four days after I paid it I came home to no electricity. I called and the account manager toldme that it was disconnected because the late fee of 28.00 was not paid.
I was paid the 28.00 had my electric turned back on but wanted to speak to a supervisor. To let them know how I was not informed of a late fee when I paid my oringinal amount on the day of final notice or I would have paid it as well.
The account manager told me that the Supervisor was unable to speak to me at that time so I asked if one could return a phone call to me and she said yes...a week later I have yet to receive a phone call frome anyone from 4change. I was upset about my electricity being shut off but was more angry about not having 4change return my call. Just a bad situation all the way around. However, before this one incident 4change has been great to have. I will stay with them and hope that in the future they will take their customers complaints a little more serious.
