  Easy to get started. Automatic billing. Our electricity bill is the lowest it has ever been even living in an older home and a hotter climate. This plan also allows us to donate to the American Red Cross

True to Their Word

  I switched to Champion because they had a better rate. However after switching, my former provider talked me into coming back which turned out to be a huge mistake as they lied (see review of TXU titled Liars). When I contacted Champion to try and come back they were extremely helpful and true to their word. They conducted a "market track" which I found out from Public Utility Commission cost them money to do but was necessary in order for me to return. Also they credited the early termination fee back to my account which they did not have to do. Each customer rep I spoke with was helpful and pleasant. It is refreshing to find a company that follows through with what they say they will do. If this proves to be how Champion conducts business I will be a loyal customer for a very long time.

Company sucks

  Often had only 9 days to pay after receiving bill. There is a separate fee for everything including paying on line or by telephone There is a fee to tell you that you are late and 2 days later a late fee. This company is a rip-off and not recommended to anyone.

Terrible billing and Customer service

  I would not recommend Cirro Energy. Although their rates are seemingly low, (I was never sure why we did not get the promotional rate on all our bills), their billing procedures and customer service are really poor. I have had to call them almost every month to correct errors. They say they are corrected but they reappear the next month. I got different answers from different CSRs; they don't seem to know their facts very well, and are not well trained. For some of them English is obviously not their first language. I finally had to get with a supervisor to try to get it all fixed, which took about three weeks. She never did call me back, I had to call her again, and my latest bill was still wrong! I am not calling them this time, I'll just pay the incorrect bill and I will switch providers when my contract expires. My advice is to avoid Cirro and go with another provider, even if their rate is a little higher.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHAM OF A COMPANY!!!!!!!

  We got our first bill and paid it on line, they credited it to the wrong account, two weeks later they cut off our power. We tried to contact customer service, what a nightmare. We spent hours on hold only to get transferred to another line. After they finally credited our payment to our account it still took twenty four hours to get our power back on. I don't care what it cost, I'm done with these people.

Bait and Switch for renewals

  We had been CPL customers for the previous two years with no problems. When it came time to renew, I called to see what they could offer. Customer Service says $.062 per kWh. I immediately told them their offer sounded awfully low. The assured me the offer was correct and included all fees except tax and meter charge. When the first statement came, the rate was '$.117 per kWh. Seems the failed to mention the AEP transmission charges. No other electric provider prices electricity with a separate transmission charge. I cancelled. Now CPL wants a $300 early termination charge. I've filed a complaint withe the Redas Punlic Utility Commision and pland to take my case to small claims court. For the rest of you, STAY AWAY from CPL, there are too many other excellent providers to waste time with their bait and switch lies.

Liars

  Where do I start? I left TXU for another company because my bill had gone up drastically. After making the switch I was contacted by TXU to try and win me back. I told them why I left and they said I should have received a letter back when my contract was almost up so I could renew and continue my low rate. I told them that I never received any letter. The rep then offered me a plan that was better than the other company. I told him that I did not believe I could accept because I was past the 3 days to rescind with the other company and was afraid I would be charged $150 termination fee. He stated again and again that I "legally had 6 days." So I said yes to the offer and what happened? I called Public Utility Commission and was told it is 3 days not 6. So I called TXU back and told them I wanted to rescind their offer because I was lied to. And what happened? That rep told me the same thing that I had 6 days. She said it even after I told her what PUC said. Plus the disclosures TXU sent me also said 3 days. So now I have to wait up to 30 days while the other company does a "market track" so my service won't be interrupted which means I have to stay with TXU until it is complete. Moral of the story don't trust anything that TXU sales reps say.

Liars, Crooks, barely legal,

  We have several accounts with them and set up yet another with them. They did not notify current electric
company and got double billed. Also started billing for a security light that does not exist. Transferred
credit to wrong account and disconnected the other account. We told them we did not want it reconnected
They said OK but billed again with a reconnect fee. Power not reconnected. Then told this is in suspension and they kept billing and adding reconnect fees. They say this is all legal and have to
wait for another reconnect to disconnect and pay more fees. it will be worth it to pay the penalty on
all the accounts and never have to deal with them again. Hours every month trying to straighten out
the mess and every representative telling me something different. Unable to talk to a supervisor.
wish they could be stopped.
