Happy with our switch

  We have been with Power Express for 2 months and thus far our electric bill is 1/2 of our bill with another company for the same time period last year. Easy to make the switch and electronic payment is awesome.

I Have a Question

  I signed up with Champion from my previous state prior to closing escrow and moving after researching Texas Energy Companies via internet. This is my first year in Texas and the process of choosing your own Energy Company is very new to me.

I have had no problems with my relationship with Champion.

I am on a (1) year contract due to expire and am leaning towards renewing with Champion. But can you please explain something?

My contract rate is .087. But a blurb on my invoice reads "The average price you paid for electricity this month is 10.926 cents per KWH. Why the difference?

Love having the choice to go pollution free

  I've had Green Mountain for three years now and it's been great. Can't complain. They're the only company I can find that only does renewable energy and also offsets all of their carbon emission from their operations. Haven't had any issues with billing. It's been about the same price.

Renewal Rate was High

  I have enjoyed working with this company however when I asked them for a more competitive renewal rate they were unable...so for this good paying customer its off to TriEagle who seems to have their customers happy with their renewal rates.

New to you

  Initial setup experience with 3rd party group made me feel a little leary. After setup everything seems to be working well. I really like the weekly updates showing anticipated monthly bill based on weekly use. Price is same with everyone just hidden charges here and there. It all amounts to the same. Like my experience this far.

Pennywise Warning for All consumers

  So i locked in a rate last year, everything is done via email and zero mailing.

When my contract expired my rate went from 9 cents avg to 12.9 cents average. I didn't receive any notice other than an email which was overlooked. Customer service call confirmed their was nothing they would do for me. My month to month bill jumped to double what my contract plan was. I dont take kindly to people screwing you after being a customer for a year. Dont plan to go back either

TXU Free Nights Program Canceled

  I made a complaint on this web site back in November 2013 about TXU Energy Free Nights program. I am a solar customer providing energy to the grid in daylight hours. I was being charged for both the energy I consumed in the daylight hours and the energy I delivered back to the grid. I could not get satisfaction from TXU so I complained to the PUC. I sent smartmetertexas.com data to illustrate my issue to the PUC. Smartmetertexas.com data is the actual TDU data from all Texas residents with smart meters. TXU has corrected my bills finally effective 12/24/13. Merry Christmas to me! Interestingly enough the Free Nights program has been canceled as of today 1/8/2014.I suspect I had something to do with that. I think there was something very wrong with the billing on the Free Nights program. Anyway, I analyzed my own data, won my case, and would love to analyze yours too! Contact me at lucihundley@yahoo.com if you would like me to analyze your data for you. TXU will correct it if you have been improperly billed. But you must have data. If you don't know how to get it and analyze it I can do it for you "Feeling" like your bill is too high is not good enough. Data is needed! And I can get it for you! TXU is NOT using TDU data to bill you for Free Nights. They are using algorithms and percentages. But the Electricity Facts Label says they will use the ACTUAL TDU data. You will win your case if you send TXU the real data. And I can get it for you!

Great Prices - Not much else

  So I switched to breeze on powertochoose.org because they were one of the lowest prices around for 100% renewable energy.

I thought it was strange that it made me pay a deposit of $200.00 because no other utility, phone plan, energy company, or anything has made me pay a deposit and I have a pretty high credit score.

At the end of the contract period, Breeze wanted to increase my rate far higher so I went on powertochoose.org and found another provider. No worries, glad we have competition.

However, after my service switched and a few days passed, I did not get my deposit back. So, I called Breeze energy and Jesus was there to help me... only Jesus apparently couldn't understand me and I had trouble understanding him ... I had to give my account number several times and he kept getting the numbers wrong.

Language barrier was very frustrating and I'm quite sure it was not me. I've traveled the world over and spoken to people with many dialects who did not have trouble understanding me. Jesus, on the other hand, was a struggle.

Then I found out that Breeze has a policy not to mail deposit checks until the end of the month and Jesus told me it would be November before I would get my deposit back - when my services ended in September.

I don't know why they need to hold onto my deposit check for a month but... seems a little sketchy to me.

Bad pricing and billing

  First, let me start with the positive. This company has good customer service. The reps are friendly and tried to help with the situation. As for their billing and pricing it is awful. The bill makes no sense. I set an account up for my mother's house and I get my service from Green Mountain, so I know what to look for on the bills. The issues with the bill are nothing compared to their pricing. They offer a low rate that DOES NOT INCLUDE charges for minimum use and add ons from the utility. So instead of getting a great deal as promised, I am paying more at my mother's house than my own. I complained to the BBB and the PUC against this company, but little happened as a result. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

Pretty good rates if you can tolerate unsatisfactory customer service

  I will say from the beginning my situation is unusual in that my property has two services, one for the home and a separate one for guard lights. It took many months of communication with customer service, supervisors, and even a letter to the company president before they were able to (a) realize I had two services, (b) put them together in one account so I would receive only one bill. Their email notifications of bills still do not add both amounts together for the correct bill amount, and they are unable to make both service plans end on the same date, making me choose new plans twice instead of once.

Not worth the discount

  This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. The customer service is horrendous. I can go on about how they shut my power before my due date on my bill then charging me a reconnection fee to increasing my deposit by $300.00 and only giving me 2 days to do it. Just stay away.

Changed billing with no warning

  When I initially signed up the price was great and then without any notice my bills doubled. The rate was changed and I was never notified. Lost my trust in this company
