I have been with Stream over a year. Never a billing problem and I am very happy with my rate and my contract renewal experience. I recommend Stream to all my friends.

Excellent service

(4.8 / 5)

4Change has the lowest fixed rates in my area and they offer $25 off on referrals. They also send emails showing a daily breakdown of usage and the estimated monthly bill amount. Excellent service!

We switched to Champion today based on customer service reviews and the low rates. We had to leave Reliant due to outrageous rates! Stay tuned to see how much our bill drops due to the switch.
With reliant our bill was $360-$490! Who can afford that?
Champion was very transparent and thats what I like to see!

Collections notice

(2.6 / 5)

Came home today to a collections notice from Amigo Energy. I have never had service through them. The collections department was closed, so I called Amigo directly. I was informed my bill was from Tara Enerfy from last April. I had changed to a new provider when my contract with Tara ended. I paid the next bill I received and thought I was done. In the past 14 months I have had no further communication with Tara Energy. So, imagine my surprise to learn I had an unpaid final bill balance that was being sent to third party collections effective 5/22/14. Of corse the notice was received after the cut off and after collections business hours. Had I received a bill, I would have paid it promptly, but they never billed me. The explanation from the customer service rep was that they recently changed billing systems and noticed many unpaid bills. So, I guess instead of refilling, they just sent it all to collections when they never billed to start with. I can't even get into the website to make payment, as the option is greyed out. Nice!!! Have scheduled payment through my bank, but it won't arrive u til a week from now. I'm going to be seriously pissed off if this hits my credit. Will be filing a complaint through the PUC.

Poor Customer Service

(2.6 / 5)

I have been a Reliant customer for over 8 years, and have been generally happy with their online account system and their various plans. However, when it was time to renew early in 2013, I had very few plans (no wind plans at all) available to me in my online account. When I called, the rep described a few more plans that were "only available through a customer service rep." When I asked for an online or mailed copy of the terms and conditions for my review before I signed up, he said that wasn't possible. He was able to answer my questions, but unable to provide the terms in writing before I signed up. After I gave the poor guy an earful (he was just reading from a script) and told him I was very unlikely to renew with Reliant after this experience, I asked to speak to a manager. I was put on hold, but after about 10 minutes I decided it wasn't worth it and hung up.

Reliant appears to have gone downhill in my opinion. In my opinion their customer service is poor, and their available plans are not that competitive. I am currently searching for a new electric company.

Horrible Customer Service

(1.8 / 5)

My experience with Abacus has not been good. They misdeposited a payment, and eventhough I sent them a copy of the cleared check and my bank statement, and after they told me my acct would be on hold, they disconnected service anyway. Then, they still charge me late fees, do not return phone calls, and the representatives are rude when I call to check on the status of finding my payment. This has been going on over a month. I did get reconnected within a day, but I had to call the utility company to check on the connection, they wouldn't. In addition, they are now giving me false deadlines just to appease me, and then not calling. It is frustrating. The supervisor told me to go straight to her, but she doesn't answer her phone or return phone calls. So, I get to talk to an agent, who relays messages to her, but can't do anything or know the status of my account, and can't promise me that my call will be returned. I do not recommend this company.

Do Not Use Cirro

(1.4 / 5)

I switched to Cirro because my brother recommended them. Big mistake. I signed up during a good promotion of 8.3 KWh in February. I called to ask questions. I was going to sign up for web exclusive. The rep said she could do it for me so I did. (Don't believe them because they will mess you up.) I thought everything was set up for March 13. On March 12th I found out that my contract was cancelled. I called and spoke to someone. I was having a bad day. The rep said a mistake was made and it was cancelled because the utilities commission thought there were 3 TXU accounts. So I asked about signing on line to get the Web exclusive. I wanted the $50 credit for the first bill. As the guy was talking he gave me a different plan and I wasn't paying attention. I received an email that stated I had the web exclusive plan. To make a long story short, I was signed up to a different plan. Part of it is my fault for not paying attention but I got the email that said it was the web exclusive. When I spoke to Cirro about it, the supervisor didn't want my email. He said the voice conversation said I agreed to the smart secure 12 plan not the web exclusive. (I think he didn't allow me to hear the whole thing because I know I mentioned the $50 credit.) You would think because of the misunderstanding, I would be given some kind of discount. Now no discount and a higher KWh. I should have stayed with Ambit. I(Since I see the low reviews for Cirro, I am going to drop them when contract is up.)

Bad experience!

1.0 star rating 12/4/2017
I was moving from San Antonio to Temple. I signed up with TriEagle thinking it was a fair deal. After the move I realized it was not. I called was told I only had 48 hours . It would be $750.00 to cancel companies that have these ridiculous fees there is a reason! Besides charging a base fee$4.95 now they added a TCRF fees of $5.96. I only have 1 year left I can't wait! Do yourself a favor pass on TriEagle. Look at all of their negative reviews terrible company!!!!!

THE WORST ELECTRIC COMPANY EVER!!!!

(1 / 5)

This is by far the worst place I've ever had my electricity through. They bill you so many bills a month with an amount due in big letters, but they really want you to read through the bill and find the amount in small letters to pay instead. Customer service is rude and all they do is connect you to other people and never answer your questions.

scam artist

(1 / 5)

I was signed up for green mountain energy with out my consent. Once I realized that my electricity was not under the desired company I reached out to them on several attempts to get this sitiation handled. spoke to several agents and supervisor along eith advising them that I never gave anyone permission to sigbn me up under this plan. no one was able to resolve my issue and they also continue to send me bills after I stated that I was not supposed to be signed up with there plan. all of this happened because of a agent that was stationed in the grocer store

Misleading information

(1 / 5)

I've been with first-choice power for a a long time now I've also recommended them to my family and friends however I don't feel that I did a right choice. I made a payment 2 weeks ago and spoke to a representative who stated to me that First Choice was giving their customers time to make their payments due to the hurricane so I told her I still wanted to make a $200 payment. And here we are two weeks later and they want to tell me they're going to disconnect me because they won't wait too freaking days for me to pay the rest of my bill like seriously I've never had any problems up until today. I'm so upset I will be looking for another company to go with. I never thought first choice would let me down like the way they did today.

Bad experience

(1 / 5)

I called to make a payment arrangement and everything seemed fine and staff was helpful up until I called to make a payment on the scheduled time....the operator said they could not take payment that no arrangements showed up in the system. I asked to speak with the supervisor in charge . This supervisor informed me the same information...I argued my case and asked that they honor what was arraigned originally...the supervisor argued back and said she would have to put me on hold to review the recording of the original Telephone call with their representative and I. The supervisor gets back on the phone and let's me know that that representative should never had told me such Payment arrangements would be made. Therefore she could not honor the original agreement or take the payment originally agreed to. That in order to continue my service I would basically be forced into another agreement. This is after the fact over an hour and a half maybe two clarifying that she refused to honor our original agreement. So being forced to a new agreement or getting cut off having kids i had no choice at that instant timeover the weekend. I switched to a new Electric company on that Monday and refuse to pay amigo electric company based on this incident now itso the only thing I have bad showing on my credit THANK YOU FOR NOTHING AMIGO ENERGY....

LEAVING TXU after 6 years!

(1 / 5)

I don't know what is going on with TXU and their service and their bills, but their rates have changed and their billing cycles have changed. Before my bill used to be due on the SAME day every month and now my bill is due on a different day every month. Sometimes it is due on the 5th or the 8th or the 10th etc. My bill should be due on the SAME date every month! My bill this month was 211.00 dollars and my AC has NOT been in over a week. The did the meter read on the 18th and turned around three days later on the 21st and emailed me saying I had already reached my 100.00 threshold budget and had my anticipated bill for next month as 166.00?! You're telling me that in three days I used up 100.00 in energy without having my AC on?! My contract expires with you all next month on the 19th I do believe and do NOT have plans to renew with you all yet I'm being told I'm going to get charged a 150.00 to 300.00 early disconnection fee for NOT renewing my contract? How are you going to charge me AFTER the contract expires?! That's not an early termination fee, that's a rip off! Your website took down the chat option and has now removed the chat option from its Facebook page as well. I refuse to speak on the phone to your customer service reps because even though you claim to record and monitor calls when we as customers ask for the calls to be played back, you all refuse to look into them for verification. I want my meter reread and want you all to explain to me why my bill is due on a different day every month and why Oncor is charging me 65.00 for delivery charges? Am I on the best plan for the amount of energy we use? I have NEVER had a bill this high in the month of October! Last year at this time my bill was around 140.00, which was acceptable and this is NOT considering I'm on the same plan! I'm thinking of going with Green Mountain Energy or some other company that has better customer service ratings.

Promotion Lies

(1 / 5)

They will offer you a $150 credit card if you make the first 3 monthly payments on time. I have made every payment on time for the last 8 months and still have not received my incentive. If I ask by calling them, they claim they run out of gift cards and they are on back order. I cannot wait to terminate their service.
