Cheers for Just energy

(5 / 5)

First of all my electric bill has been about 15% less overall than my previous electric company's bill. Secondly, I was recently laid off from work and have had a lot of problems making ends meet. Just energy has actually cancelled late fees and given me all the extensions I needed during these hard times. Also their rewards for customer loyalty aren't half bad. I highly recommend them.

Great rates and charitable giving

(5 / 5)

For Change is a refreshing change! I get the lowest rates I can find and give to charity! Every time I'm approached by a competitor, they ask my rate. When I tell them, they say there must be hidden monthly fees! For Change doesn't have any hidden fees! Their customer service is great and they show up when they say they will! I love For Change!!

unfair pricing

(1.4 / 5)

When my contract expired I choose to let my service default to the month to month plan which was 2 cent/kw less. I called them to make sure I was on the month to month now and they told me they would continue charging me the higher rate of my 24 month plan even though I was on the month to month plan.

Beware! True review not free advertisement by them...

(1 / 5)

Please don't sign up with them! They are unethical liars and thiefs! This company should be shit down by the government!!! I will report to the BBB!!!
Anyways after being a loyal customer- paying close to 300 a month for 18 month the bill more than doubled- to $626- for a 2 bedroom, one bathroom with 2 people?!?
When I called to tell them something was wrong they tried to make it look like it was normal to have that big of an electricity bill and even I stayed calm (because I wont pay- luckily there wasnt enough money in my account when they tried to take (steal) it so will change my debit card). they got very defensive which made it even more clear that something was wrong with that price. No explanation nothing just someone that seemed slow and detached...
Well I switched to a different company and now pay $150 a month. They billed me for the half of the month until I switched another $450 I am refusing to pay!
It's absolutely rediclueles- the 2 largest electricity bills I received my whole life in the winter 2 month in a row... I guess they jacked up the rates. They need to because their customers are running away fast. I noticed that most of the reviews are negative besides the one with the promo code. Do I need to say more?!

They will ruin your perfect credit rating

(1 / 5)

When I moved, not only did I pay my final bill (which was marked " final bill" ) but I also gave them my forwarding address. TXU then sent my name to a collection agency for $30.00. When I complained, the tXU rep apologized and promised to correct the error.
Imagine my surprise when I saw the $30 still sitting on my credit reports five years later!
TXU doesn't care about consumers . The worst utility company in Texas.

They should go to jail !!!!

I moved in the home of my deceased mother from out of town.I chose this company, paid my deposit and begin service.A few days later someone contacted me and asked if I knew someone with my last name. I told them that the person was a relative. They asked if he still lived there and i said no as he didn't.They told me that i had to prove that he did not live there and that i didn't live with him a certain time. I answered them.shortly thereafter they stuck me with his $2,100 bill, turned off my power and kept my deposit. All because i was related to someone that supposedly owed them.

What in the HELL?!

(0 / 5)

Where do I even start here? Two people show up at my home at 6 pm. I'm sorry, what are 90% of Americans doing at 6 pm? Either cooking dinner or eating it! To start with the guy talking doesn't introduce himself, doesn't say what company her works for (I only know because of his shirt, seriously the ENTIRE time he never once mentioned the company.), doesn't even say what they are doing at my home. He starts off by saying that there has been a rate increase in my electricity (I'm sorry, how does he know who my provider is?) recently and he'd like to see a copy of my bill. Ok let me just pause here. EVERY door to door electric scam starts with asking for the customer's current bill. It's nosy and intrusive! I tell him that I only get ebills and also I'm in the middle of cooking dinner. This guy, he says, "Oh ok, well we'll come back in 5 minutes." WHAT?! In what universe does it take five minutes to cook and eat dinner?! I tell him no, I will be cooking at least another 45 minutes. He says, "Well we'll come back in an hour and why don't you print that ebill and have it ready for us?" I can't even BEGIN to tell you how irritating it is to have someone who's trying to sell something sit and not only inconvenience you but also boss you around! So I go back in, finish cooking, feed myself and my kids and completely intend on ignoring and knocks at my door. We finish dinner, I get my kids bathed, it's now 2 hours later at 8 and no one ever came back. Though honestly, that THRILLS me. I sure hope these people never, ever show up at my door again. EVER.

My husband and I bought a house 2 years ago. Our electric bill was just as much as our mortgage. A friend of his told him about Ambit Energy and how low their electric bill was. We were so ready to make a change. We have probably save at least $2000.00 in the past six months. Thank goodness for Ambit!
