  I love this product. It is affordable and easy to track, thou a 2 day lag in account accountability of electricity used it is still as easy to track the usage at my rental property while it is waiting to be re-leased. It has helped me notice that extra lights were left on by mistake when I had not been in the house for about 2 days. A great tool for short term use but I can see using this for long term as well if I needed to monitor my electricity usage more closely.

Satisfied for over a decade.

Sometimes you just get lucky!

  Soooooo, ya gotta have electricity, right?
I had no idea who to choose, but I had make that decision.
I reviewed the rates and special offers of dozens of companies and decided 4Change Energy was the one for me.
Little did I know how very happy l would be with my new electric company!
My rates were very low, and soon an email came to me each week graphing my energy usage and comparing it to the week before. I could SEE how I was using my electricity! It one of the most useful tools I've ever encountered for tracking and adjusting my electric consumption. In fact, I now have such a good handle on my electric service, my electricity bill is LOWER than my water bill! That's FABULOUS!!!
Now, I need to figure out how to lower my water bill...

Great Electricity Usage Tracking Tools & a $50 new customer credit to Boot!

  Had no issues with champion. Quick and easy billing, simple to start/renew/find information on my services. They send a weekly summary with a comparison to the previous weeks usage, and an estimation of your monthly bill based on your trends, and several other tools if you click around!

  Excellent energy company. Competitive rates overall. Not the cheapest company but there are no hidden fees and the customer service is excellent. The best part is the easy online bill pay and the weekly usage emails. Its a handy tool to regulate how much power your family uses. Ive saved quite a bit of money just being able to see my usage and changing some simple things. Great customer referral plan. Use my code KNupson55057 and we both get a $25 credit on our bills. Overall a great company to work with.

  I had been with TXU for 3 years and and with Mega energy before that. While TXU has some great tools for taking control of your energy expenses, their pricing is not competitive. My rates just kept going up! Bounce is competitive and has just as many tools to help you control your energy expenses. And the perks are an added bonus!

StarTex Turns off Online Account Management

  StarTex has a strange policy of turning off the online account management if you do not pay your bill in time. It seems to me that during these times, the online account management tool should be more helpful. Turning it off when you are needing to pay your bill seems contrary to good logic.

  Reliant emails you a weekly report on your power usage that includes hourly use graph & monthly bill estimate. excellent tools and not difficult to compile with SmartMeters. Gexa literally does nothing but send you a monthly bill. good rate but no tempting promotions.

Good and Bad over 12 months

  Over the past 12 months I've experienced the good and bad of Champion Energy.

The Good:
Rates are competitive
Initiate and transfer electric service smoothly
Bill and apply payment on time
Helpful usage tools
Customer Service is professional, courteous, and answers on less than 3 rings.

The Bad:
Upon transferring service to a new location, a new account was opened. The current term plan failed to transfer to the new account. Although Customer Service was polite, 5 calls later over a 2 week period resulted in no change, despite many unfulfilled assurances. I was then informed their "contract dept" couldn't keep up with demand.

Obviously, I was forced to elevate the situation, and have decided I no longer wish to conduct business with a company that doesn't have the resources in place to properly service my account. Hard costs are one thing, soft costs (demands on my time) are the deciding factor.

Perhaps you'll have a better experience.

Warranty scam

  TXU energy are dishonest scammers. Signed up for home warranty and didnt read the fine print. Called about the A/C. Water from emergency drain pan draining outside. Call warranty number, they give me an a/c company to call and I make an appointment. Two days later, a/c guy shows up. No tools, no guages, just a pad and pen. Makes a five minute inspection and says the unit is dirty from poor maintenance. He writes this on a quote. I call him out saying it was a lie. I just had cleaned the coils, inside and out, the previous month. He says, thats what they tell me to say. He takes his sixty bucks and leaves. 24 hours later... claim denied. Fine print in warranty contract says corrosion and poor maintenance not covered by warranty. Basically, we enjoyed taking you monthly premium. Contact TXU and tell them warranty is a scam and I would like my money back... all of it. They say no, anything else I can help you with? I believed TXU to be a reputable company and wouldn't sell a scam, but they did. I was foolish to believe they could be trusted. I know most all warranty deals are scams but I trusted them anyway. Don't do what I did. Steer clear of TXU.

like a bad break up

  When gexa and I first met, everything was magical... Low rates, great service, efficient web tools... When it came time to move, at the end of our full year service plan, we planned to bring gexa with us, but wanted gexa to match other low service rates in our area. Gexa could not compete. After we decided to terminate service with gexa, they jacked up our last bill (charging us the same amount as a full month for just 10 days of service,) cut us off from online service, charged us late fees during the time that they instructed us to wait for our final bill and further, refused to reread the kWh usage of the 10 days and then explained that payment extensions are only provided to current customers. It was obvious that gexa was a little bitter! Stay away from this service if you ever plan on moving! Now, time to figure out how to come up with $222 before gexa sends me to collections

Good company, great tools to track your usage

  I had been with reliant for a year and never had any issues. Their web-site had great tools that will let you track your usage by day, week, month and set up alerts etc. A lot of tools to track and manage your usage. Their customer service is also great.
