Great Company that does what it says

(5 / 5)

I signed up in July of 2015. The advertisement for Champion said great rates, great customer service, and NO fine print. I can say 8 months into my 24 month plan that everything they advertised is TRUE!!! What a breath of fresh air. I have had no complaints at all. Very easy to get in touch either by phone, online, or chat. They are right there. They do what they say they will do. What could be better than that.

I have been with Champion for several months now. You always expect something that is too good to be true to blow up in your face. However this company is the exception. They have delivered on everything they promised-Great customer service; no fine print; competitive low rates, instant help either via phone, chat, or the internet. WOW. I am totally blown away by them. You cannot go wrong with Champion.

Verde Energy

(5 / 5)

Verde Energy is so far one of the best companies i didn't have to pay any deposit and they gave my $100 in bill credits for my electric bill and there rates are low they cut my bill in half after switching to them. Go Green my Texas peoples you wont regret it.....................

Great Company that does what it says

(5 / 5)

Update from a previous review. I have now been with Champion Energy for a few months now. Still a great company and the customer service is out of sight. They send email reminders to keep you in the loop. They quickly get on a chat session with you. And best of all they are on the phone in a hurry. As a comparison my first month with them I used approx. 1700 kilowatts and I am on the 24 month half price night promotion. I used the same amount the previous month with my old company and my Champion bill was $40 less. Rates are really good. And as they promote---There is no fine print.

Great Company that does what it says

(5 / 5)

I had been at my previous electric provider for over 3 years. I always had to wait at least 45 minutes to get someone on the phone. I had had enough. What a breath of fresh air Champion is. They have really great rates, a lot of different plans to choose from, and best of all you can get someone there in a hurry. No waits on the phone, instant correspondence via email. So far I couldn't be happier.Give them a try. You won't be disappointed.

Excellent

(5 / 5)

We've only been with frontier for a short time but are so very pleased with the experience so far. They're rates our great, customer service is fantastic, and signing up was quick and easy. Already we've save a LOT of many by switching over. So glad we did.

Great customer service

(4.8 / 5)

Customer service was very nice to deal with. I had to delay my start date at the last minute and they took care of it nicely with a return phone call when it was all taken care of. I like them. I hope they keep their rates low so I can keep them. If you get a paper bill and pay by check, or if you get ebilling and pay online there is no service charge. It'll cost you 4.95 if you get a paper bill and pay electronically.

Used to be awesome, now billing nightmare

(2.6 / 5)

I've been a StarTex supporter since 2008. They were awesome - had the lowest rate, and offered great customer service.

However, they were purchased by another company and things have gone downhill with their billing. I was double billed once (which was actually Oncor's fault) but it took months to straighten out because of StarTex's inability to generate a bill in a timely manner. Even though I had no bill to even pay, I got collection notices and daily phone calls about not paying the erroneous bill.

Most recently, I moved, and even though I was assured my rate would stay the same since I stayed in the same service area, my rate went up 1.45 cents per kWh. I called and they generated a new bill, except kept the same rate. I called again, and they generated a new bill, but this time, they only gave me a credit for less than half of my usage. I had received a new meter, and they only credited what was on the new meter.

My contract is up in less than a month and will be finding a new provider. It's a shame they were bought out and the customer service has gone down hill so much. As they say "StarTex, where customer service is always free" - what they don't say is that it's not always right.

too many more months left

(1.4 / 5)

What can you say when they tack on a non-auto pay charge onto your bill with out informing you. ???
What can you say when they change their accounting software and you have to re-sign up and then their software doesn't allow you to go back in,????
What can you say when you call to complain that the mailed statement doesn't match the online statement.
What can you say when you call them - they tell you that you owe $35.38 and it will be auto-paid on your next cycle???
What can you say when the customer service agent tells you to go back to the previous bill and look at it online only to have to tell him that it won't let you go back and retrieve any previous months and you go back to Sept 1 2014 in the search criteria???

What can you say when after the bill cycle they find out they made a mistake and tacked on $107.24 to your billl???
What can you say when you call and are told to press 1 if you want to keep your place in line and they will call you back. And what do you say when you call back 4 hours later and ask why you were never called and tell them to remove you from the list....???.
What can you say when you ask what the cancellation fee is and are told $250 regardless if they are a company who gives extremely poor service??? And
What can you say when you tell the customer service agent to please transfer you to his manager - and he says okay and then immediately hangs up on you?????????
You say enough is enough get me out of this contract with NO PENALTIES.

Poor Service

(1 / 5)

They do not respond to emails and the phone never rings to customer service. I am always getting a recording about high call volume. Also, the rates have not decreased from my previous carrier as promised when I signed up.

HORRIBLE!! Don't do it!!

(0.6 / 5)

Anyone looking to change electric companies should NOT use TriEagle Energy. I had a SUPERVISOR threaten to shut my electric off over $4.46 they left off my bill. All that after spending a total of 50 mins on hold, talking to 2 other employees, waiting 3 days for a supervisor to call me back (which they never called so I called them back), already paying the bill the fee was added to after the fact, and of course never being 1 day late on any bill I've ever had. The supervisor was a smartass with an attitude. Pretty poor customer service.

****Update**** All that happened on my last bill. Here's an update on my new bill. My paper bill reads $71.00 of new charges, $4.46 previous balance. Total $75.46. I login online to pay the $71.00 and it shows the amount due to be $75.59. I'm willing to bet that's a late fee percentage for the unpaid balance. I guess they offer a low rate so they can hit you with hidden charges after you've been billed then charge you interest for not paying. Haha. Take $5.00 and multiply that by every customer they have...........

TERRIBLE!!!! Crooks with an attitude and not ashamed of it.

Leaving at end of contract

(0 / 5)

I have been with TXU for many years and in the last two years, my electrical bill has been extremely high in the winter months. I set my thermostat at 66 degrees and I still have a high bill. My heating and air conditioning unit is fairly brand new. TXU blames the high price on Oncor delivery charges. I never had this problem before TXU started separating their coxt from Oncor. Ridiculous. As soon as my contract is up, I'm switching.
