Reviews from Wells:

Great

(5 / 5)

I switched when they first started. Our first bill was cut in half. Last year during the heat wave our highest bill was $150. Very pleased with Stream. You just have to make sure you lock in your rates when the time comes.

No issues with this company. I got on their
variable plan when .12 was cheap and it's gone
down every month so far.

Very satisfied.

Beware their "late fee scam"

(1.5 / 5)

Give yourself a good 5-7 business days prior to the due date if you
bank on-line, since they refuse to set up an electronic relationship
with anyone but Wells Fargo. 3 times I've gone through this. If you
send your payment through another bank along with your other
monthly bills, leave lots of lead time, otherwise you'll get a nice pink
greeting from them in the mail along with a late fee charged to their
next bill. Then, when you call to see what happened and ensure that
your service is still on, they make you feel like you, as the customer,
have done something wrong by banking on-line, and not going to one
of their preferred payment systems (mail, call their payment number
over the phone, or wells fargo). Excuse me for not wanting to jack
around with 20 different service providers and desiring to handle and
manage my bill payments through my own bank on-line. As soon as
my current contract expires, I will be leaving this provider.

Good rates - terrible billing!!!!!

(1.4 / 5)

We have 2 accounts with them. They email saying they haven't received payments yet we know we have sent (we know they are there as we do it via online bill pay with Wells Fargo). They then charge late fee on next month bill. They also send montlhly invoices inconsistently on monthly bills. They stopped on one after several months. Horrible billing/accounting department!!!!! My wife and I will pay more to avoid the hassle here. They are always nice about it but terrible systems or something...

Rather unhappy

(1.4 / 5)

I've called multiple times asking question about my bill, and can never get a straight answer. Nor can I get someone on the phone who is easy to understand. I've asked on a couple of occasions "I'm sorry, I'm having a difficult time understanding you through your accent. May I please speak with another representative?" and I ALWAYS get hung up on.

When I went to pay my very first bill from them, I asked if there was somewhere I could take my payment so it wouldn't get lost or stolen in the mail, and was told "Can't you just look it up online? I don't feel like giving that info out at the moment." REALLY??? THAT'S YOUR JOB!

Not the best way to keep a client - unfortunately, our land lord set us up with them, so we are going to stick with them through the duration of our lease. If we resign the lease when it runs out, I'm going to request an energy company change.

This company needs an attitude over haul. Big time.

Horrible

(0.8 / 5)

As I sit here and review this on my phone, because Tara Energy has AGAIN cut off my service for "non-payment", I am furious. I use Wells Fargo bill pay and somehow Tara Energy can't seem to get their act together and credit my payments appropriately. The first time this happened, I had no idea there was a problem until my service was shut off. After waiting half an hour to get a human being on the phone, I was instructed to send in my bank statements to prove I had paid and then I was told to "call them back to make sure they received everything." Are you kidding me? I have to call you to make sure you do your job? Well as it turns out, they didn't and only when I called to follow up did they get the payments applied. First time: 2 hours of my time.

Now today service was cut off again because payments were not applied correctly. I have a bathroom remodel in progress and now this error is going to cost me more time.

I just wish I had known there were going to be these problems before (I used to work for a large trade association in Texas and I actually helped get this outfit endorsed. I will be letting them know.

Impossible to work with!!

(0 / 5)

ive been trying for 3 weeks to get my energy started and i was told to fax in a refernce letter from a fellow user to get my deposit dropped. Ive faxed it in twice now grom different places same number they said was correct and they have yet to "recieve" it. They hang up on me when i call to speak with supervisor and its the most frustrating company/business ive ever had work with. Im very disappointed and dissatisfied. If i ever get it to go through i probably wont use them. so far NOT so good.
