Reviews from Woodway:

My experience with 4Change energy

(5 / 5)

I have been with this company for a year. I have found them to be a company which is honest and open with my bill each month. I have had the lowest electric bills in many years and I believe it is because 4Change is a company with integrity and will not pass on extra charges to your bill without you knowing about it. I have been very pleased and have renewed my contract for another year.

Effortless

(5 / 5)

I just signed up for bounce energy and it was seamless. I was able to get a great rate on Green energy, far better than my friends who are faithful TXU customers for a decade get on their "spacial rate". They also have a great rewards program.

If you use a refer a friend code than you get $50 off your bill and so does your friend.

Enjoy!

Maybe I should have stayed with Champion

(4.6 / 5)

I found Champion on PowerToChoose two years ago when we moved to Texas. They got great reviews and offered competitive rates. The customer experience was really good - I always knew what was going on with my account, there were no surprises or glitches along the way. When renewal time came around this year, the rate increase was pretty substantial, which was to be expected to some extent because everyone's rates are rising. I cross-shopped and found another company that beat Champion's rate by a significant margin, so I switched.

Suffice it to say the customer experience with the new company hasn't been nearly as good as it was with Champion. Not everybody makes it as easy to business as they do. Don't take this for granted - it is possible to take a big step backward in this area by switching to another provider.

Rates still matter but, looking back, I'm much closer to indifferent on whether or not I should have renewed with Champion. Staying with them would have cost more and would also have avoided some headaches. If you're considering Champion and their rates are close enough for your liking to the cut-rate providers, there is definitely a case for choosing them. If they just made the renewal offer a little more attractive it would have been a no-brainer.

Decent rate and the lights are still on

(2.6 / 5)

Now that I've covered all the nice things in the title...here's the rest of the story:
My previous provider raised rates - I looked for a better deal on PowerToChoose and found this company. I filled out my enrollment with a requested switch date. They did indeed switch on my requested date...but the first I heard from them about it was ~2 weeks later when they sent the first bill (here's how much you owe us...oh BTW welcome new customer). They are not set up for BillPay through Bank of America and it's a confusing situation: MidAmerican Energy (apparently a utility in Iowa) is set up in BofA's system, but MidAmerican Energy *Services* is not, and they both use the same logo with a typeface so small I defy anyone except company employees to recognize the difference. I found this out after a call to "customer service" and got a bit of attitude about not having discerned this on my own. Anyway, I am now set up to send them paper checks through the BofA BillPay system - seems like we could do better in the year 2018, but it will get the job done.

I can't really complain because, like I said, they're giving me a pretty decent rate and the lights are still on. There's really not anything wrong here, but from my perspective, I'm not impressed with the way they run the business. I expected more from a Berkshire Hathaway company...but then again, who am I to question Warren Buffett's business strategy. Maybe the lesson here is that customer relationship management is actually an unnecessary business expense and this is the kind of customer service we should expect once the rest of the business community discovers this for themselves and follows suit.

Sheisters and cheats

(1 / 5)

Worst experience ever. Give you low rates then jack the price sky high once they lock you in a contract. I cancelled earlier. Even with the $200 cancellation fee, it was cheaper to cancel and switch to Ambit than stay with those crooks. I wished I could give them 0 stars but unfortunately 1 star is as low as you are allowed to give.
