Additionally, you’ll pay the standard TDU charges and a $4.95 monthly recurring charge. This averages out to 8.6 cents per kWh for 1000 kWh of usage. And that rate falls to 8.2 cents per kWh for 2000 kWh of use, making it more suited for average to large Texas households.

Just like before, if you have an average or large household, you’ll benefit from low electricity rates.

There’s a $150 early termination fee here as well, so you’ll want to stay the whole 6 months. And you’ll also find a low percentage of renewable sourcing at 15.5 percent.

Affordable Electricity for the Average Dallas Household

First Choice Power’s Select Choice 6 is the final 6-month, fixed-rate plan. You’ll pay a slightly higher energy charge at 4.9 cents per kWh. Once you add in the TDU charges and the $4.95 base charge, your average energy rate for 1000 kWh of use is 9.6 cents per kWh and 9.2 cents per kWh at 2000 kWh.

While the plan offers the same percentage of renewables as the other two, 15.5 percent, it does offer a slightly lower early termination fee at $135. But if you’re in the market for cheap early termination fee electricity in Texas, there are better options.
