What’s New On Texas Electricity Ratings

by | Aug 26, 2009 | Industry News

Well, lots has been going on recently with Texas Electricity Ratings. For starters, we’ve made a couple changes on the site, and I’d like to take this time to run down a few of the changes we’ve made, as well as the different things I’m seeing in the electricity market from my spot behind the curtain, so to speak.

So for starters, lets talk about the site. The rankings have been updated, and we’ve seen a shift in the provider rankings that I think is noteworthy. We have a new #1, and that is Reliant Energy. Moving forward, I plan to have the rankings updated every other week, so we’ll be getting fresh information out there when providers and the PUC are updating their information as well, so this should be helpful for consumers mining for information or looking for new providers.

So, that being said, lets take a look at our top providers after our latest re-ranking.

Reliant comes in at number one. They’re solid and steady in most parts of their business, and their PUC complaint scorecard is pretty much as good as it gets. All of that combined to propel them to #1 in the standings. Taking a step back to #2 is Bounce Energy. They’re still offering competitive pricing and the most innovative user incentives around, but it wasn’t enough to keep Reliant at bay this time around. So congratulations to Reliant Energy!

Gexa and Green Mountain energy continue to be strongly ranked in the market as well. In fact, Green Mountain is almost always well reviewed, and I think they are the example of a company with a loyal customer base because they like the product they’re receiving. Gexa is also solid across the board, which is impressive because they’ve had to overcome a very negative reputation and connotation in the market from their first few years in the deregulated market.

At the end of the day, I’m continuing to stay on top things so consumers can get the most up to date information moving forward about the providers that are out there and what they have to offer us consumers.

Thanks.
