Terrible Experience
I had signed up for electric service with Southern Federal in 10/22 at my girlfriends house reading in the documents that there was a cancellation fee if we changed providers but not if we sold the property. My girlfriend decided to sell the house in 11/23 at now they are trying to charge me a $249 cancellation fee when we just sold the house because the deed name on the closing documents is different than my name on the electricity contract. I was never informed that the deed holder had to turn on the electricity in their name in order for them to abide by their contract, nor can I find that newly made up restriction in print on any of the documents. It clearly states that if the property with service is sold, then there is no cancellation fee.
SFE owes me an refund for 23 days I have h not received it nor have they responded to my emails.
SFE owes me a refund of $1400 for an overpayment on a finale bill for over 23 days. I have called and emailed them since October 12, 2023.
customer service says the check has been mailed every week.. I email the representative who I was in contact with twice, no respond from her.
I had changed from their electric service because their rates had jumped to an much higher rate.
I have not received the check nor have they responded to my emails requesting an trace of the check.
It does not take over 23 days to mail an check from Houston to Plano TX
Very poor service,,,
