Our Take on Ranchero Power
Ranchero Power is a unit of Genie Energy, (NYSE:GNE) based in Newark, New Jersey. Ranchero and it's flanking twin, Southern Federal Power, both offer mid market prices, bill credits on tiered plans and low credit requirements.
With Ranchero - you get a pretty big company (GNE) Traditional account management (My account, bill pay, etc) and some pretty good rates.
On balance - Ranchero has a few good plans. A 3 star rating on the PUCT (not great - not bad) Avoid the bill credits plans and check out the flat rate offers and depending on the offer and time of year - a good deal can be found.
There's just not a lot of review data on Ranchero - under 100 Google reviews - but most are 4-5 stars. 1 review on our site, 3 stars on PUCT. There's just not a lot of data out there to make a call on this one
