Best Rhythm Plans as reviewed by Texas Electricity Ratings

Simply Select 12

Our Rating:
Plan Term: 12 Months
Plan Type: Fixed Rate

On it's face, this is a good plan. It has similar kWh rates across the different usage thresholds, which means there won't be big bill shock if a customer uses 900 kWn one month and 1100 kWh the next month. The Energy Charge is also pretty competitive, and the overall bills for customers should be pretty low. Of course, Rhythm often requires customers to have excellent credit, so qualifying without a deposit might be difficult.
thumb_upPros:
This plan has a low energy charge, and decent rates, and no bill usage surprises.
thumb_downCons:
May have to pay a deposit.

Simply Select 6

Our Rating:
Plan Term: 6 Months
Plan Type: Fixed Rate

On it's face, this is a good plan. It has similar kWh rates across the different usage thresholds, which means there won't be big bill shock if a customer uses 800 kWn one month and 1200 kWh the next month. The Energy Charge is also pretty competitive, and the overall bills for customers should be pretty low. Of course, Rhythm often requires customers to have excellent credit, so qualifying without a deposit might be difficult. Also, customers ordering this plan in the winter or spring will expire in the summer heat, so keep the time of the year in mind.
thumb_upPros:
This plan has a low energy charge, and decent rates, and no bill usage surprises.
thumb_downCons:
May have to pay a deposit, term is short.

thumb_downCons:
You may have to pay a deposit.

Simply Select 36

Our Rating:
Plan Term: 36 Months

This is a good, predictable plan, if you can qualify. It has similar kWh rates across the different usage thresholds, which means no big bill shock if a customer uses 950 kWn one month and 1050 kWh the next month. The Energy Charge is also pretty competitive, and the overall bills for customers should be pretty low. Of course, Rhythm often requires customers to have excellent credit, so qualifying without a deposit might be difficult.

As a customer service rep myself I respect anyone I call into I know how it is I deal with it everyday. So I was shocked that I had a rep sighhh really loud because I had a dispute about a $300 bill then spoke to a sup for my issue and they agreed that "yes i get these calls alot with fees that charge after customers switch out with ended contract i feel its unfair to you guys that this isnt explained" and then refused to help me at all with even 50% of the charges like I get taking an L and having to pay something. But to be left with a balance for a charge that never was communicated when I called and asked about switching since my contract ended ++++ having awful customer service on top of this is appalling. I do not recommend this service the customer service shows they don't care at all and read every detail of what your signing up for cause they're scammers!

They online payment system is quirky at best and extremely ineffective on a normal cycle. It required me to re-enter my payment source multiple times - but then would not allow me to pay the bill using it! Then on the phone the agent spent time trying to upsell me on some bogus insurance plan! And said he'd do me a favor one time to not charge me an extra $5 service fee for taking my payment!

For July to Aug 2024 in a 2 bedroom apartment $870 bill, and for Aug to Sep $1500 bill for allegedly having a flex plan that he said was the worst one they have. While my 2 story four bedroom home never had a bill higher than $300 in the Texas heat!
