Lowest price per kWh I found at the time. With a smart meter changing service was a breeze. Never had a billing issue but they do have a $10 service fee monthly that counters the low rates in my opinion. If you factor that in and they are still lowest go for it.

I was dropped by Breeze energy leaving Texas market and I was switched to provider of last resort (POLR) that I didn't want in less than 12 hours after first notification. UNHAPPY! Decided on First Choice and chose at Power-To-Choose. First billing messed up by TNMP but First choice corrected it promptly. The real test of good customer support is when things go wrong. I was happy with First Choice response and ability to reach and talk to their customer support. Bill corrected, happy again.

Cost chart was an eye-opener as green mountain energy occupied spots 2,3,4 regarding electricity costs. My bill is about 30% cheaper - NOW, since switching to GME!!! I was motivated when TXU Energy was going to "change" electric rates GIVING ONLY ONE MONTHS Notice. Switching to GME Has proven to be a WISE Decision.

My experience with your customer service department was not good by any means. First of all you can't understand anything they are saying. I am assuming this is outsourced to a foreign country. Secondly, they did absolutely nothing and said that a supervisor would call me back in about an hour. It was 3-1/2 hours later and the supervisor was even harder to understand. Although the need for customer service was long gone at that point, I am so sorry I switched to TriEagle because its going to be a long year and I think I did a 2-year term with one of my account. I will not recommend TriEagle due to this horrible experience.

I've been with TriEagle for many years. My present 36 month contract expires in June of 2020. I plan to renew at that time. I was originally attracted by the simplicity of the plan. A flat rate (mine is 8.6 cents) and a monthly base charge of $4.95. That is all there is to understand. Many of the other companies have many gimmicks to try and confuse you as they overcharge . There is no Santa and I wanted a contract that didn't read like a variable annuity from a third rate insurance company. I don't care about "free" weekends, free nights, free miles, free points, no charge if a Holiday falls on a Thursday during a full moon, etc. Those are designed for gullible people. Just give me a great rate and no HIDDEN charges. If that's what you are looking for I doubt you can find any better than TRIEAGLE. I've only had occasion to call them a couple of times in seven years but my questions or concerns were answered quickly and courteously. Keep up the good work and the simplicity of your plans TRIEAGLE.

Weve been with 4change for almost 3 years and never had a problem with 4 change until last month. I was going to pay my payment late so I called the account manager and he told me that I could not pay it late that I jad to pay the full amount. Or my services will be disconnected. Okay, so I borrowed the money and paid it on the date of notice. Four days after I paid it I came home to no electricity. I called and the account manager toldme that it was disconnected because the late fee of 28.00 was not paid.
I was paid the 28.00 had my electric turned back on but wanted to speak to a supervisor. To let them know how I was not informed of a late fee when I paid my oringinal amount on the day of final notice or I would have paid it as well.
The account manager told me that the Supervisor was unable to speak to me at that time so I asked if one could return a phone call to me and she said yes...a week later I have yet to receive a phone call frome anyone from 4change. I was upset about my electricity being shut off but was more angry about not having 4change return my call. Just a bad situation all the way around. However, before this one incident 4change has been great to have. I will stay with them and hope that in the future they will take their customers complaints a little more serious.

I have been with Direct Energy for 8 or 9 years now and, except for a few minor issues, have been pretty happy with their service. I use the live chat feature most of the time but, if I have to call customer service, I am usually not on hold too long at all and it doesn't take long to resolve whatever the problem is. The rates are a little higher than some lesser known providers but given the lesser known providers ratings, the higher rates are probably going to be worth it. In fact, my contract with Direct Energy expires this month and I had been shopping around for an electric provider with a lower rate but decided to go ahead and stay for that reason. All the providers offering lower rates had terrible ratings and customer reviews. I also found a few outrageous hidden costs and fine print nightmares among some of the lesser known providers. I would rather pay a few cents more and avoid having to battle with some other company's customer service department about a promise they made at signup they failed to deliver afterwards.

I have been Direct Energy customers for 3 years, when I decided to move to my new house I called them (30 days before moving) to transfer my service to my new location (75056) but the representative told me the service is not available on that area and they don't charge me for early termination. When I saw my statement they charged me $135 for early termination, I called again and the representative checked my new zip code and agreed to waive this fee. Finally today after checking my credit card statement I saw they charged me $135. Really frustrated with their customer service.

After reviewing so many providers I settled with Gexa based on the average price per kwh. It turns out Gexa was the only one I reviewed that did not include the additional fees into their average cost therefore causing my first bill to be $150 more than what I paid the previous month with my old provider. I called Gexa and they moved me to a new plan that fit my budget better but I still owed that large bill and had I known this at the start I would not have picked Gexa as my provider. Now I'm stuck for a year.

I am able to manage my usage and I get daily notifications. Significantly lowered my rate
I had a personal account rep who took care of everything. Very knowledgeable. I was able to signup seamlessly and literally cut my bill in half.. Previous provider was Just energy. Was great till they jacked my rate up to .22 cents/kwh.
Now I have a great plan and with a fixed rate. No service issues to speak of.

Today I called Champion Energy and to my surprise I was immediately connected to a live person who spoke English as their first language. I did not have to go through numerous pre-selected options, none of which ever address my concerns. I did not have to repeat my request numerous times because the representative had poor comprehension of the English language. It was so refreshing to have my questions answered in a matter of minutes.

I was with Reliant paying 12.2 per kilo my plan was going to renew going up to 14.4 TriEagle gave me 9.2 per kilo for 2 years. They did all the paper work to switch, Great Service. My first bill went down 60.00 Dollars.

Good company for electricity. However....
Great company for my electricity. Had no problems or hidden fee issues. However, I will not be renewing with them because their renewal rates are higher than "new customer" rates on the open market. For the life of me I do not understand why companies essentially want me to discontinue my service by upping the rates when I am a known quantity who always pays on time. I guess they don't care about loyalty.

Griddy is great for saving money.
I've used Griddy for a year. I've saved over $300 from the previous year when I had a contract. The contract that I had gave me a discount only if I used a certain amount of electricity, which I only did in the summer months or a cold month in the winter. With Griddy, it's easy to see how much electricity every minute of the day. Most of the time it's cheaper than the contract pricing. I would also recommend a Wi-Fi thermostat so you can control your usage even if you're away from home.

Beware of extra charges
I have been with Infuse Energy for more than a year. I enrolled in autopay to avoid any extra fees. All good until my bank changed my card twice in a row within 2 weeks. Infuse energy charged $35 twice for declined transactions + $6 late fee and $10 disconnect notice fee. Autopay is for peace of mind but in this case, it is not. Instead of a notification for reminder, they charge extra for declined transactions. Not a good business practice

I hate choosing electric companies
When I moved to S TX I had to decide on an electric company. I've used TXU for years, decades, actually. I chose Entrust, and have been pleased with my rates, but who knows? I'm in half the space, for about $10 less, so...??? I like that I get a weekly report of my usage.
