Best Choice

I chose Pulse Power due to the plan. But there was an added bonus in the plan I did not see until the first billing. The bill credit product adjustment lowered my bills each month making the summer heat not so bad.

Best Electric Company I have had in six years

I've had several electric companies in the past 6 years, they all cheated me out of money. Of the 3 or 4 that I have had, this one is the best, their rates are low and have cut my electric bill in half. They are legit. I went from paying any where from $225.00-$250.00 per month on average to $143.00 per month and my usage has not changed. This month I had a credit. Now I know that the other ones were lying on the bill, the wattages were elevated and the rates were exagggeerated. Wish I had chosen Pulse power six years ago.

DECEPTIVE ADs - bait & switch

I signed up for this on 6/29 and on 7/27 I got a bill for a whopping $132 at 15.4 kwh and not the 5.9cent KWH. Which is .10 cents per KWH higher than my previous provider TXU. I thought they charged the highest rate in Austin TX. Pulse Power just did a classic switch and bait, but it is also deceptive, because they bait you with 5.9 cent and a teeny-tiny clause "average price per kwh for 1000 kwh usage". I totally overlooked that, because I never in 65 years, based price on usage. I am 65 and the clause is deliberatlly too small and easily overlooked. It is like "Hey, 5.9cent!" and then whispering under your breath "if kwh is over 1000 usage,". What Luis the rep (great customer service) on the phone explained to me on 7/28/20, is that if I don't hit >= 1,000 kwh, then I am billed the highest rate 15.4. I only get the 5.9 cent rate if I GO OVER/EQUAL to 1000 kwh. Now I am contracted to them for a year.BUYER BEWARE. They grab you as the lowest rate, and in teeny-tiny print it reads 5.9 cent "average price per kwh for 1000 kwh usage". I am totally screwed.

Hard to remove early termination fee

When I signed up I told him I only needed electricity for a month as I was visiting friends house. They told me to simply tell them I moved out and there would be no early termination fee. I was charged $220 termination fee for three weeks of usage. With other electric companies I was able to tell them my forwarding address and that was enough. Pulse power requires Difficult to provide Documentation for move out before they will return the early termination fee. And even after providing that it took me nine hours and threats to Report them to the AEP before they finally removed the ETF

Bait and switch watch details

In 10 years of average electric bills from other providers I have never ever had bills consistently from $150 to $200 over $300 us. Pulse consistently went over these. till the final bill hit almost $800. from the other complaints I see maybe it was in the fine print I did not understand. each month our usage remained the same as in previous years, yet each month the bills each went higher.

I hope I don't have to call customer service again

New customer. Went to registration page on line and correct information rejected multiple times. Customer service rep talked so slow and was so dense she sounded high. Could barely hear for chatter in background. She didn't want to address whether their information they had was correct because any error was because I "made an entry error", although I had cut and pasted their information(!) from the bill. After several minutes of her talking about 6 words per minute we found, yes, they had put the wrong zip code in so I couldn't register with the correct information. No apology; no interest in fixing. Customer service that can only be described as "stupid".

No transparency

I have solar panels and yet, i till have a monthly bill average of about $80 to $120. They are charging me a delivery charge every month. This was not disclosed when I agreed to a 36-month contract with them. When I called to ask about this delivery charge, I was not able to get a straight answer from anyone. Finally, they tell me it's in the fine print of my contract. Well, thanks a lot for that. Let's be honest here, who really reads the fine print? This is, by far, the worst company I have ever dealt with. Total ripp off. Avoid this company at all costs, or it will cost you in the end.

Dont go to this company

I only went to Pulse Power for their solar buy-back plans. There is no way to talk to anyone in the company unless you know their phone ext so you talk only to customer care in a foreign country. I spoke to someone in the beginning who assured me that I am to sign up for a reg plan now and then can switch to a solar buy-back plan once the my system is turned on. That was a month ago. My solar system was turned on and since you cant change any plans online, I called back in where I was told that I cannot switch from a fixed plan to a buy-back plan at all. I explained that I was initially assured otherwise and they said they could email a request to the corp office for permission and Id rcv an email in 3-5 business days. Again, I specifically went to this company because they are supposed to have 1to1 solar buy-back plans. I cant be transferred to anyone in corp no how many times I ask. I was told by 2 separate customer care associates that they no one at corp has phones! Im currently locked in a plan that doesnt give me any credit for the solar panels I paid to have on my roof and I need permission from corp to even see if I can get on the appropriate plan. Meanwhile, the electricity I am producing is going into the grid and to Pulse Power so they are rcvg FREE electricity from me and charging me for my usage.

Terrible Experience

Dealing with Pulse Power has been a nightmare. Below is order of events if you care to read the horror story. For every call below I am on hold for a minimum of 30 min and each time I ask a question they put me on hold for 2 to 5 min to "check in the system".June 5 - I set up a new power account with a start of service date of June 9.June 9 - I move into my new house and there is not a meter installed, the rep I talked to said power would be on by the end of the day (did not happen). June 10 - I called back on Friday, same message from the Pulse power rep, I am skeptical, so I called Centerpoint to confirm. Centerpoint did not even have a work order from Pulse power to install a meter at my house. It is now close of business, so I do not have power at my house all weekend. June 11 - I get an email from Pulse Power saying they are setting up a new account (this is an error because I already have an account I set up on June 5). I cannot reach anyone because they are closed on Sat and SunJune 13 - I finally get a hold of someone at Pulse Power and they are unsure of what happened with the second account. Still no power at my house. June 14 - I call them again and turns out my account was cancelled "due to Competing Transaction" but they were unable to provide any details on how or why this happened. Note I did not receive any notice of the cancelation. Attached is email from the rep stating that my account is canceled and I owe $0June 15 - Centerpoint informs me Pulse Power is still the REP for this service address so I call Pulse again and get the email confirmation the once again my account is canceled and I owe $0. I now have multiple emails that I do not have an active account at Pulse Power and I owe them $0. So I call Reliant and they get my power started the same day. About a month goes by thinking all is good, until I get an email notifying me I have a bill on July 22.Several calls to Pulse Power and no one can seem to explain to me how a canceled account racks up a $196.15 bill in direct contradiction of the attached emails that I owe them $0. The rep I talked to "put in a ticket" but I have not heard back from them. I have emailed their customer support line and still nothing.

Beware of Pulse Electric

Beware of Pulse Electric, They start off low and jack up your prices, they love to disconnect your service so they can charge your reconnection fee. I do not recommend them. Go to Reliant energy
