I chose Pulse Power due to the plan. But there was an added bonus in the plan I did not see until the first billing. The bill credit product adjustment lowered my bills each month making the summer heat not so bad.

I've had several electric companies in the past 6 years, they all cheated me out of money. Of the 3 or 4 that I have had, this one is the best, their rates are low and have cut my electric bill in half. They are legit. I went from paying any where from $225.00-$250.00 per month on average to $143.00 per month and my usage has not changed. This month I had a credit. Now I know that the other ones were lying on the bill, the wattages were elevated and the rates were exagggeerated. Wish I had chosen Pulse power six years ago.

I had an issue with billing, but I was able to call and was pleasantly surprised with how well it was handled. It got fixed in very short order, and I haven't had an issue since.

The company I would say is a good choice online billing & account information is a plus also they send a weekly consumption email if u sign up which is helpful. Now if u prefer customer service via phone it becomes a little bit of an issue due to the wait time to get an agent"if" u get one (sometime. Also given the circumstances with the virus and all if u need assistants payin the bill u can't get it through the normal places not sure u can get it other places either, not sure as to why but your on your own. In my experience other than those things generally it's a good company that needs to expand & find more ways of providing help.

Response was quick and easy. Once u are accepted the process doesn't take long to connect, just set a date and your all set. I would also like to point out that the rates are fairly low & easily maintained to keep your monthly payments affordable.

I signed up for this on 6/29 and on 7/27 I got a bill for a whopping $132 at 15.4 kwh and not the 5.9cent KWH. Which is .10 cents per KWH higher than my previous provider TXU. I thought they charged the highest rate in Austin TX.
Pulse Power just did a classic switch and bait, but it is also deceptive, because they bait you with 5.9 cent and a teeny-tiny clause "average price per kwh for 1000 kwh usage". I totally overlooked that, because I never in 65 years, based price on usage. I am 65 and the clause is deliberatlly too small and easily overlooked. It is like "Hey, 5.9cent!" and then whispering under your breath "if kwh is over 1000 usage,".
What Luis the rep (great customer service) on the phone explained to me on 7/28/20, is that if I don't hit >= 1,000 kwh, then I am billed the highest rate 15.4. I only get the 5.9 cent rate if I GO OVER/EQUAL to 1000 kwh. Now I am contracted to them for a year.
BUYER BEWARE. They grab you as the lowest rate, and in teeny-tiny print it reads 5.9 cent "average price per kwh for 1000 kwh usage".
I am totally screwed.

It was very easy to compare and shop through 'Texas Electricity Ratings'. However, as most of the electricity providers offer 'Contract buying'. I was not offered and had to pay out of my pocket for the previous contract.

We had enjoyed PulsePower as our electric provider for over a year with excellent service. Then, in July 2022, we moved into a new house. Since then our service has been awful. They tried to bill me for early termination of contract after the move. Took over an hour on the phone with a transfer to a supervisor required due to language barrier of service representative. Two months later, they stopped drafting my automatic payments and then cut my power off for non-payment with no notice of disconnection. I have been on hold now for an hour to speak to a supervisor? What happened to this company that is supposed to be Texas based. Customer service calls are answered by people whose middle eastern accent is so thick you cannot understand them (every call), and they can't understand me.

Takes weeks for someone to email or call you back. Expect to hold an hour or so more than once and the "hold your place in line" stuff, complete BS.
If you actually get a hold of someone, they will barely speak English. Count on getting a headache just trying to comprehend what the customer service person is saying.

Pulse power is a electrical provider. During the texas snowstorm I lost electricity for 5 days. On the 2 nd day it came on for a few hours. ( the electricity)the rest of that time no electricity. I was charged as if I had electricity on the whole time. Just received another wrong bill from June 2021, they estimated my cost, to double what I use. I also didnt live at this address last year. My July bill was 61 dollars my June bill was 140. I am very conservative and leave my thermostat at 82 during the day. I dont leave things plugged in except refrigerator, oven washer dryer. I was also not home for 2 days. This is not a good service.

I haven't had any billing issues or auto-payment glitches thankfully.
Except for... SIX days with no electricity. An actual message to PulsePower's customer service about no power on Feb 15, 2021 and they charged me for usage on Feb 15th. We lost pets due to the below freezing temps in our home and to have a report show we had power was a slap in the face. I sent a message to PulsePower only to be told "it is an average sent by ONCOR." so basically the blame game. I wasn't asking for a credit or any special treatment just acknowledgement that PulsePower knew we had no power and it was a mistake. Oh no that was too hard. So I let the CSR know I was not happy with the lack of empathy and sent the report I was using from our monthly bill to make my complaint.
NATALIE had the nerve to respond telling me to sign up for smartmeter reports from smartmetertexas. I DID NOT ASK for how to determine a darn thing.
I signed a 12 month contract knowing there was a chance the company I chose wasn't the right one for us. I will be moving providers the day the contract expires.
To think, Cirro showed my parent empathy when ONCOR cut power for 24+ hours on a 100+ F degree day by removing charges on her Cirro bill that were from ONCOR and ONCOR even reimbursed her for lost groceries in the freezer.... SHAME ON PULSEPOWER!
Absolutely no empathy training for the PulsePower reps. Not everyone wants a reimbursement or needs help with a late payment. Sometimes we just need a company to acknowledge a horrible thing happened and they care. I bet Natalie is terrified of reptiles and so her lack of emotion was more on par with YAY MORE REPTILES ARE DEAD! Who cares that it was painful and confusing for them.
Okay done. and DONE WITH PulsePower.

In 10 years of average electric bills from other providers I have never ever had bills consistently from $150 to $200 over $300 us. Pulse consistently went over these. till the final bill hit almost $800. from the other complaints I see maybe it was in the fine print I did not understand. each month our usage remained the same as in previous years, yet each month the bills each went higher.

I was set up on Auto-Pay for the past ten (10) months. This month my account was not charged and I received a Disconnection Notice and a late fee. I contacted them through their portal and they responded with a response that was totally not related to my complaint. They also never answer their phone. Terrible customer service. I will not be renewing in December.

Be very very careful and read the fine print. All of it. They are a bunch of scammers. I will be switching as soon as possible and dont recommend. The price per kW is a calculated average based on there projection of your usage when you have free periods. This make the actual rate horrific while making it seem reasonable. The classic bait and switch. Or just plain old lying.

I called to setup an account starting 3 weeks later. They told me to reply to their email with my domestic violence letter to wave the deposit. I did so 20min after getting the email. I never received the email to setup an online account or anything, so I called the day it was supposed to be active. They lost everything! Said my request for electricity expired (without any notice or anything) never received any of the 4 emails I sent them (actually had to send it over 60min Ed for them to get 1), said they didnt have another email I could try sending to. After 3 hours on the phone with them (3 different reps), they continued insisting they have no manager, supervisor or anybody else or other way to contact them. They also decided that any requests for power must be made no more than 10days in advance of the start date and thats why I couldnt get set up. And instead of sending a letter signed by my legal representation, they decided Id have to fill out a form providing information on the police report, officers badge and contact info, court case, judge and other information and documents (which most dont exist since we were able to settle outside of court) within those 10days (days, not even business days) for the activation of my electricity to be considered.
I had to go with a different company that was a lot cheaper anyway.

I originally joined because it said it had free night and it was suppose to be 17.3 cent per kwh. However, they are charging me 21 cents, additional there is no way we are using as much power as they say we are cause no one is ever home.

Dealing with Pulse Power has been a nightmare. Below is order of events if you care to read the horror story.
For every call below I am on hold for a minimum of 30 min and each time I ask a question they put me on hold for 2 to 5 min to "check in the system".
June 5 - I set up a new power account with a start of service date of June 9.
June 9 - I move into my new house and there is not a meter installed, the rep I talked to said power would be on by the end of the day (did not happen).
June 10 - I called back on Friday, same message from the Pulse power rep, I am skeptical, so I called Centerpoint to confirm. Centerpoint did not even have a work order from Pulse power to install a meter at my house. It is now close of business, so I do not have power at my house all weekend.
June 11 - I get an email from Pulse Power saying they are setting up a new account (this is an error because I already have an account I set up on June 5). I cannot reach anyone because they are closed on Sat and Sun
June 13 - I finally get a hold of someone at Pulse Power and they are unsure of what happened with the second account. Still no power at my house.
June 14 - I call them again and turns out my account was cancelled "due to Competing Transaction" but they were unable to provide any details on how or why this happened. Note I did not receive any notice of the cancelation. Attached is email from the rep stating that my account is canceled and I owe $0
June 15 - Centerpoint informs me Pulse Power is still the REP for this service address so I call Pulse again and get the email confirmation the once again my account is canceled and I owe $0. I now have multiple emails that I do not have an active account at Pulse Power and I owe them $0. So I call Reliant and they get my power started the same day.
About a month goes by thinking all is good, until I get an email notifying me I have a bill on July 22.
Several calls to Pulse Power and no one can seem to explain to me how a canceled account racks up a $196.15 bill in direct contradiction of the attached emails that I owe them $0. The rep I talked to "put in a ticket" but I have not heard back from them. I have emailed their customer support line and still nothing.
