Never Had a Problem
We've been with IGS/Dynowatt for almost 7 years now. Never had a problem, ALWAYS have had good experiences. Very good customer service. Flexible if you need a couple of extra days to pay. Always there if you have a question or problem. Had one experience when we lost power and Oncor gave us the run around about when the repairs would be made. Called IGS and they contacted Oncor on our behalf. Amazingly, there was a repair crew working on the transformer within a couple of hours. Rates are more than reasonable. Recommend to others all the time. Everett Aikman from Fort Worth

Saved me $1500 a year
The sales rep was very informative and friendly. He showed me not only the savings but showed me how to use less electricity. They delivered what they promised. Great company. Wayne Mitchell from Plano

Good company
I have never had a problem with them. They have been flexible when it comes to payments. Rates are good. I have never had a problem with them. Compared to Reliant and TXU (both of which have ripped me off), they are a very good company. They were recommended by our son. And we switched my father in law from Gexa to Dynowatt, and his bill went down. So I don't know what happened with these other peopleas far as issues with Dynowatt, but I will recommend them to anyone. Ervin from Houston

Dynowatt good experience

Dynowatt's 16 month fixed rate plan was one of the lowest rate plans the last time that I signed a contract. Transition was easy and fast. No billing errors over the 16 months. Great experience. Unfortunately, they are not one of the lowest now, so I will probably not renew.

Internet Limited, Inadequate Customer Service

I got on line in an effort to have my electricity service moved to a new apartment. First thing, I mentioned was that I wanted to move my service, as I have been pretty pleased with Dynowatt after a miserable experience with TXU. Buenavida, the agent that I chatted with, made me go through all the security checks, and then told me I would have to call to make the change.

It was 5:23 when I placed the call and was told to keep holding and the next available would be with me in a minute. The message was repeated over and over, ad nauseum. At 5:45, the message was replaced by a sound similat to that made by a tape recorder when it is rewinding. I never got to take care of my business.

I was going to transfer Dynowatt from my old apartment to my new, but considering the cavalier treatment, I think I will shop around. .

Slammed my credit reports

I have never used Dynowatt, never signed up for service with Dynowatt and have never paid Dynowatt. Yet there is a listing from Dynowatt, that they keep verifying on my credit reports. For $1,068.00 from 2011. I guess it's going to be small claims for us.

Loren Steffy Shines His Light on Raising Electricity Market Cap
In the past, I've had some pretty divergent opinions about deregulation and Texas Electricity with Loren Steffy, the chief energy writer at the Houston Chronicle. His latest article is no different, as I can't help but roll my eyes at the usual swipes he can't seem to help but take at the retail ele...

Texas Electricity News Roundup 5/18/2012
Here's a couple articles I've seen the past few days which I found interesting that relate to the Texas electricity market, along with my thoughts. Most of it is market cap related, but there's a welcome snippet at the bottom that would be great news for Texas. PUC Commissioners Continue to Push...

Texas Electricity Provider Map
Last week's purchase of First Choice Power by Direct Energy was yet another major acquisition of a Retail Electricity Provider by a major energy conglomerate. There's been around half a dozen of these deals in the past year, and in my opinion, things have gotten a bit muddled and confusing. So I wan...

What do customers think about Dynowatt?

That depends on who you ask. There will always be someone who feels wronged by a company, no matter how good they actually are. The average Dynowatt customer review is 0 / 5 stars. Keep in mind, consumers will go out of their way to complain far more often than they will to give praise.

Why is my electricity rate higher than when I signed up?

The rate you see when you sign up is the average rate at that exact amount of usage in one billing cycle. Some companies try to game the system by applying bill credits between certain usage thresholds. It works great if you are within the margins, but as soon as you leave that band you no longer get that bill credit and your rate per kWh can double. The PUC only requires that companies disclose their average rates at 500, 1000, and 2000 kWhs. Companies can get around this by giving you a $50 bill credit if you use between 1000 and 2000 kWhs per billing cycle. The only way to really know what you're getting into is to read your EFL. A 10¢ rate at all usage amounts may end up being cheaper than that 8¢ rate at 1,000 kWh!
