Champion review
I am very satisfied with the service I receive. I especially appreciate the weekly energy use email.
Finally Greatness
Original a bit irritated. They wanted a review after 3 days. I wrote a review. Since then, I have been very pleased. Set up auto pmts, easy. Great price. Weekly usage email with bill projection. This makes it easy to adjust usage. So far, it's great. No surprises.
Exceptional Customer Service
I contacted Champion Energy for new services, and not really knowing what to expect. I had so many options to choose from. The customer service agent Deirdre P., provided me with thorough and detailed information about the services. She was patient-even though I had 50 questions. Her tone never seemed agitated or frustrated! Her exceptional customer service and knowledge of the companies policies and procedures is one of the main reasons that helped me to decide to receive services. Keep being compassionate and kind to your customers Deirdre and you will be truly blessed. I have not received a bill to honestly answer how that process would be, but because I believe in the information Deirdre provided I will rate that area with a 5 star. Thank you again for your time!!
Great switch
Easiest way to switch from one elctric co to another. Customer service was really great.
Champion energy is the best
Champion Energy Services has been really great for me so far!! Customer service and price is a lot better than my previous electric provider for my apartment as well as a lot cheaper surprisingly. They have pretty good plans. I would highly recommend. Did not regret making the switch. Use my referal code for $50 off! EDINH001Or use the link:Champion.Energy/referral?refer=EDINH001
Champion in Energy
I have used Champion Energy for 6 years, I changed electric provider for a year because my landlord provided electricity in my apartment. But now I moved again and went back to Champion Energy and signed up for 2 years Free weekend because for that year of not using Champion, my electricity bill is really high, though the kwh usage is almost the same. What I love about Champion is the transparent electric bill, no hidden charges, no minimum usage, you get a usage history weekly so you have an idea how much you used and budget your electric bill. I am so happy I am back with Champion, hope you choose Champion too! Please use referral code STOLEN001 to get credit. Thank you!
Best Representative
Today I contacted the most helpful
Representative Mark H.
Mark H was the first person who actually helped me understand what the breakdown was going to be financially. I had called two other companies and no one gave the details simply as Mark H.
If I owned a company ( as I have in the past ) , I would hire him away from
Champion !!!
Thank You Mark H ! You made my day
BEST ELECTRICITY SERVICE
Ive used Champion Energy for a little while now. Great Service, and has always been low/reasonably priced. Have no complaints with them at all. I am really grateful to have them because my last energy company would have sporadic pricing on the bills... with some hidden fees and stuff. Luckily, I can honestly say that Champion Energy has done none of that! Honestly, you cant go wrong with this company.
Best Energy Provider So Far
It was easy to research and see how Champion had the best price per kilowatt hour. I created an Excel spreadsheet and entered the previous years worth of usage with my old company and then another as if I had been with Champion. Once I saw how much more savings I would receive, I did the same data analyst for my daughter. I convinced my daughter to sign up with them even before I was eligible to change companies! By the time I was able to sign up, (2 months after her) I ended up paying a penny more per KWh, but I still save! Were both very happy.
Best company
I havent had any issues and customer service is great!
Been really Happy with Champion!
We have been with Champion for a long time now and don't ever have plans to leave. The rates are extremely reasonable compared to past carriers we have used. Thanks Champion!!

Switch to Champion
Rates are lower than anything I've found and NO HIDDEN FEES
Low rates
I have saved so much on my monthly electric bill. I chose the plan that fit my needs.. Champion offers low rates. Great customer service too.
Satisfied
I loved speaking to a representative who spoke clearly and was easy to understand!
The best rate I've ever had
I like how they break down your weekly usage with two different graphs and then they give you a projected monthly cost. It helps you regulate yourself if you happened to use a lot the week before. I got an awesome rate so my bill is never High. And with all this cold weather lately my fixed-rate really helped me. Use my promo code to sign up and we both save $50!
Great Pricing and Services!
This will be my 3rd year with Champion Energy and it has been nothing but a breeze to work with them. Love the service, pricing and types of plans that they provide. I needed to transfer the service a little earlier than anticipated and when I renewed as well I got a even better price with the free nights. Only thing is they make you create a new account, which I would rather have all past information in one account Feel free to use my referral ID for a $50 credit! RJueJr73417
New Customer ( 2 Months)
Lower electricity cost is my driver, so far so good
Happy with service
My first bill was the lowest in two years. Could hardly believe it. Right off the bat, I saved the $9.95 monthly charge from other companies. Yes you will still have the 4$4.32 AEP service charge, which everyone has to pay, but other companies add that $9.95 delivery charge, so there was immediate savings of over $100.00.
Best company
We've been in Champion energy for almost 5 years. No problem at all.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us. We're happy to have you as a customer for 5 years!

Really straightfoward
My plan with Champion was reliable and really well priced. I was just so thankful to find an energy company that was straightforward and wasn't trying to deceive me with hidden fees and stuff. Their transparency is just miles above a lot of other companies. I would really highly recommend.

Champion Energy Can't be beat
I have been with Champion Energy for about 10 years now. Before I would switch every year or two to get the best rate or better customer service. Since I have been with Champion they have provided both and I have kept renewing with them each year. They do what they say. There is NO small print and nothing hidden you can't go wrong with them. You will not regret choosing them as your energy provider.
Champion Energy Simply Electricity
All went smooth and painless. Not too many choices and that made it easy! Fixed rate plan and no usage thresholds and all that commotion. They give you a weekly usage report and helping tips to conserve electricity.

Glad we can make things simple! Thanks for your leaving us your review.

Champion for best rates and bills
Switched from Reliant where our highest bill was in the $400s while being away during the days to Champion where due to Covid we are home all the time with everything on. Our highest bill has been $150 using more electricity than we did prior. They also reward $50 credit for yourself and for anyone that uses your promo code to sign up off their monthly statement which can help those moving into a new place or switching providers with a cheaper bill. I was skeptical at first as I've only used larger electric companies but now I will never switch as Champion has amazing rates and plans.

Glad to hear that we were able to lower your electricity bill! Our Connect-A-Friend Referral program is a great way to save more on your monthly bills, and lets those who enroll with your referral code reap the benefits as well. Thank you for your review!

Savings on savings
Have had no surprise fees and being with champion has honestly been a breeze. Renewal was easy and they level threw in $50 rebates for energy efficient lightbulbs as well as an Alexa.
Great Experience with Champion
I've been with Champion about 4 years now and I've never had any issues with them. Initially, I was with Reliant and prices got too high so I started looking and found Champion Energy. They had much more competative rates and their service has been great. I love all the plan options from free weekends to free nights.

Hi Jenny,
Thank you for your many years as a customer. We're happy to know you've enjoyed your experience with us and appreciate your review. That's right, we offer a variety of plans to choose from all with competitive rates. We also take pride in being transparent with our pricing without having any hidden fees or costs. If you ever have any questions please reach out to us at feedback@champion.energy.

Excellent service
I am a user of Champion energy turning 5 years this May, no complain or bad experience for almost 5 years. I chose Champion Energy for so many reasons. -Great customer service- I signed up online before I move here in the US, the customer service assisted me and was prompt to respond to my inquiries. I have moved from one apartment to another, and it was a smooth transfer. Just sent them email about my transfer request. I had no issue at all. -Billing- you have an option to receive a hard copy or go paperless. -Weekly report- is provided so youll know how much electricity you had consumed from the previous week. This is helpful if you want to budget your electric consumption per month. -No Hidden charges- you only pay for your usage, Oncor charges and the taxes. No minimum usage required! I have referred Champion to a lot of my friends, and they are happy about it. I would continue recommending it to others. I'm just glad I made a right choice and hope you'll do the same too! They are really a Champion in terms of providing electricity!
So far so good!
In the first month we have gotten $50 towards a smart thermostat, $50 towards LED bulbs and over $100 in new a/c filters. All free. Not bad! And ebilling and payment set up through my bank was super easy too. Website gives me all I need and I get weekly projections for my bill.

Absolutely! There are perks of being a customer of Champion. With our 24 month plans we offer $50 in free LEDs, $50 smart thermostat rebate and the first shipment of air filters is on us. We are glad to know you were able to reap our customer benefits! If you have any questions about our promotions or Smart Track report, please feel free to reach out to us anytime at 877.653.5090.

The Big Shock
Great website for ahpping for this utility and everything came through as advertized and promised. Great reports for monitoring usage and billing.
Switching to Champion Electric
Switching to Champion Electric was amazingly easy. Not only do they have great rates they make is easy to become a customer. Be sure when you shopping for rates remember to check the rates for power usage for more than 2,000 Kwh. Many of the power companies rates sky rocket about that magic number. Champion electric rates remain consistent.

Thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback Jim! We are happy to have you as a customer!

The best company I've had in a while
I came to Champion from Reliant, and not only did I get a $50 discount my second month, but there have been no surprise charges or hidden fees. Rates have gone up but my bill has not doubled as other companies did. I will be here a while. Use my code to get your discount!
Easy switch, Timely Billing
The switch to Champion was easy and without complication. They bill with plenty of notice to plan for payment. Customer portal is user friendly.
Finally a Great CSR
I want to express my appreciation for the help I received from Marie the last representative that was finally able to take care of my issue regarding my account. It would take writing a book to explain the hoops I had to go through before Marie was able to take care of it.
It all started when I did not pay attention to the fine print when I signed with another provider and found out that I would have been in deep trouble fulfilling their contract, as I'm retired and with limited funds, and the cost would have put me in a bad position 9 months out of the year.
Marie was able to clear all the issues and I'm back with Champion for another 2 years.
Thnak you Marie. Great Job!
Customer service

Never heard of them but very competitive to get onboard with and to renew
Called and agent offered a rate that was on par with others along with trying different promotions. Got pretty much same rate which is unusual since most firms I have used tend to jack their rates after they get you with the promo rate to sign up.
Very pleased with agent I was dealing with (Elizabeth), good experience all in all.
Awesome!
Just started Champion Energy Services last month and so far so good. It is nice to not have a limit to hit and then get charged for it. The price has been reasonable considering that it is not the hotter months. Comparing the rates has been cheaper already but lets see down the road!
Champion works
Was an easy switch from longtime overpriced provider. No issues, and I love the energy usage reports they send me each week. Reasonable renewal rates are keeping me in the gold.
Good company
I did see a difference in prices, i would recommend. Please use my code as reference in case you do sign up. RAlvarez59267
Satisfied, but with a glitch
Quite decent over the two years with their service. When it comes to renewing the plan, why does the rate go up by 40%? That means, the company does not seem to care for retaining the existing customer. SAD.

Thank you for being a loyal customer. Market prices increased this year across Texas due to many factors. Champion Energy makes every effort to remain competitive to offer the best possible rates for new and current customers.

Good service thus far - great $avings
Had Reliant for many years and after shopping around, Reiant would not drop their rate close to what I got with Champion, so I switched. Smooth, seamless transition, reliable service and I am saving between 30 and 50%!!
Have not had to deal with customer service, no did not rate them on my review.

Hello, thank you for making the switch to Champion Energy. We are glad that your search for better rates lead you to us.

Looking For The best Rate
The whole deregulation fiasco is a big pain. Confusing websites, offers and marketing make it really difficult to find the best deals around. Champion is not as good as what I had, but it is cheaper than the raise in rates I was going to have. Customer loyalty does not seem to be rewarded at all by any provider.

Hello, we understand your frustration with electric providers, but we assure you that Champion Energy is different. We have a referral program that unlike other providers, allows unlimited bill credits for you and anyone you refer that signs up with Champion Energy. We also issue bill credits to customers just for remaining loyal to Champion Energy. And unlike other providers, Champion Energy has 24/7 customer service, so we are there anytime you need us.

Good Value, High Quality
Champion was given consideration because of their good reputation. I selected them because their 2-year fixed rate offering was among the best for my pattern of electric use. I auto-pay the bill and tested that my banking info worked by pre-paying a token amount well before my 1st bill was due. The payment was quickly credited to my account and I've never worried about it again. They send nice weekly e-mails about my electric use with updated projections on my monthly charges. From my trouble-free perspective, they seem very efficient. They will be the carrier to beat in my upcoming renewal, but I will review other suppliers' pricing as well.

Gee, thank you for your feedback. We will do our best to earn your business and continue as your provider when it's time for your to renew.

Champion Energy, solid choice for electricity needs
The process was simple and transparent. They send a weekly usage report which is very helpful in understanding how your energy consumption varies, by day and time relative to the outdoor temperatures. The billing services is easy to understand and straightforward.
Champion Energy
I did a price comparison utilizing EFL's and my historic energy usage. Champion Energy's rates and breaks matched well with my profile giving me the most energy at the lowest possible price. So far the costs are tracking to my estimates and that means I am saving money each month. This makes me happy and a little richer. I have not seen any promotions and don't expect any so I could not give that category a 5 star. But, if one comes along Champion should get the 5th star.

Not for Senior Citizens
I don't doubt this is a OK company. I simply cannot believe that I cannot set my payment with the arrival of my Social Security Pension....in this case, 4 days difference! What an enormous problem this creates for us, and I've never come across this public relations insult before. They should be decent enough to post a WARNING before causing this ongoing financial nightmare to us. I have no idea what to do!
This is a common question. What most people don't recognize, is that the meter read dates are not controlled by the retail providers, rather those are set by the poles and wires company that reads your meter. Most providers generate the bill as soon as they receive the meter reading, so the timing of the bill is out of their control.

Still find the ability to understand the rate structures and compare them across providers to be very difficult. ideally I would like to plug into a table my monthly usage and have the providers spit out their charges

Not a bad company
I've been with Champion for a number of years, and I have always been impressed. But this year my contract expired, and to my discredit, I did not put the expiration date on my calendar b/c Champion has always notified me as the date approached. Not so this year. As a result one month's rate shot up so that my bill was about $55 higher than normal b/c the contract expired and I didn't know. I contacted Champion (which was very easy), and I was told that I had been notified several times. But I wasn't. I save EVERYTHING from Champion, and I never got the notices. I asked for them to renegotiate my bill for the one month I was out of contract, but all they would do is give me a $25 discount. So I will see how things go. Up to this point Champion has been a very good company, and assuming things continue to go well---that is, up front rates clear to understand, no hidden tricks on fees and such, good communication when I try to contact them---I will stay with them. I want to be fair, and maybe this one experience was just a fluke; I hope so. But I have my eye on www.powertochoose.com just in case I need to jump ship. As much money as these companies make, I don't understand why they don't give good customers the benefit of doubt when problems arise. How much money are we talking about here anyway? But maybe they need the money more than we do. Overall, I think you would probably be safe to go with Champion. Just keep your eyes open.

George, Sorry to hear that you missed your expiration date. We do our best to notify customers in advance with multiple notifications via email, your bill and your online account. We hope that you choose to stay with Champion. If you do decide to switch, please email us at feedback@championenergyservices.com and we'll take a look at your options.

Disappointed
I have been with Champion for years. Last month my bill was $116, this month $189. I called customer service and all I got was rates are higher and so is your usage. I have recommended Champion to many people, sister, brother, and friends. I was shocked that the customer service representative could have cared less. I get that my usage is up, but this is a huge difference. My contract is about up and how can I renew my contract with this type of service.

Shelly, Sorry to hear about this experience you had with one of our reps. Could you email us at feedback@championenergyservices.com so we can look into this further and revisit your contract options?

Same stupid deliver charge
I have been bragging on my electric bill. it's been great, great service, great prices then this month, it's over double! looking closer, I got slammed with the same "Delivery charge" that many people have complained about.

Rebecca, Sorry to hear that you feel like your bills have doubled from delivery charges. These charges are charges from CenterPoint passed directly to you, with no mark up. Please email us at feedback@championenergyservices.com to take a closer look at your account.

Good Company, but Rates and Pricing Not So Much
We've been with Champion Energy for just over a year now. They have great customer service, I think every REP should provide online live chat functionality. When we went to renew the price was hirer than most Texas REP's, and I think they will be busted bigtime for using BillMatrix to process online card transactions as BillMatrix charges $3.95 for using your card which is a violation of Texas law. I reported this violation multiple times to the CSR's but Champion shows no interest in forcing its provider to comply with the law. Though it couldn't be that hard for Champion to operate its own billing system.
Slapped with Delivery Charge
I have had Champion Energy for over two years with no issues whatsoever. Even recommended them to friends. However after renewing for the third time I see my bill go up by more than 30%. This increase in bill was attributed to Delivery charges. I called the customer support to inquire about this charge and was told that it was always in my bill but now it shows up a a new line item. What I fail to understand is my usage for the same month previous years were significantly less. I will continue to watch for my next month bill and if things don't improve.....I'll look into other options.

Shabbir, Our customer care team will follow up with you on this and take a closer look at your account.

We were with First Choice Power for 7 years. They started out great but then were bought out or merged with another company (from what we heard) and their customer service became awful. We are changing to Champion because of their awards for customer service for the last 3 years. So far so good. Making the switch was easy. The service representative was nice and also helpful. There were slightly cheaper electric plans with other companies, but the reviews for those companies were not as consistent as Champion's. We will see if giving up about .5 cents/KW is worth Champion's claims of being the best choice. We will update as we go along.

Thanks for being a new customer of ours. And we have been ranked high on our customer service in addition to other factors like price, payment options, etc. for the 4th year now from J.D. Power. We hope that your customer experiences are favorable. In the event you have any issues or concerns, email feedback@championenergyservices.com for prompt resolution.

Used to be competitive, now they are middle of the road.
My wife and I have been with Champion Energy for years, and have always been pretty happy with their service. In the past, before renewing, we'd check the rates on PTC just to see where their renewal offering was relative to their competition and they were always fairly competitive. Not always the cheapest, but they always had a plan that was competitive that we could feel good about choosing. This last renewal period, however, it seems that you have to scroll WAAAY down the PTC list to find the first Champion plan. Electricity is a commodity and I can't justify paying 12% more for my electricity for no good reason when there are 46 other plans (I just checked) that I can choose from that are lessexpensive. We called their service department and asked them if they could do anything with their renewal rate (given what other options are out there) are were told that they couldn't. It's more expensive to find a new customer than it is to keep an existing customer, but it seems like nobody has told that to Champion. I will be switching to Gexa (8.54 cents vs Champions 9.50 cents) in a few days when my contract is up. I personally think they are experimenting with how many existing customers will stay when they raise their price by a penny. As a side note, and this seems to apply to all of the providers out there, it seems a bit shady to get charged for using too little electricity and also for using too much electricity. Last month, we went over 2,000 kWh for the first time ever and got hit with a $60+ charge...we called Champion and were told that was a charge from Oncor. I don't ever remember reading anywhere that there was a penalty for using too much electricity in any plan we signed up under. But it seems that "gotcha billing" is the new norm in the Texas deregulated energy market. I can't wait to be a part of the class action lawsuit that will inevitably arise from this unscrupulous practice.
Dissapointed Champion was not competive to loyal customer
I contacted Jose at Champion about my renewal (3 year customer) to see if he could match or be competive with my bona fide 10% lower offer from another company. He could not or would not.
Adios, I am an ex customer now.

Sorry to hear about your experience Steve. As a loyal customer we try our best to give you the best rate. In the future, email us at feedback@championenergyservices.com and we'll take a closer look at your account. We hope that you check us out again.

Good service but about to switch
I switched to Champoin two years ago based on relatively low costs, good reviews and JD Powers ratings. Have had a good experieince with them but based on what I believe are uncompetitive rates, I am looking hard at switching. With some companies offering 12 month rates at $.085/kw and Champion not able to offer me anything better than $.097/kw, why would I stay? As a 1780 kw/month customer, one would think you'd be a more flexible/competitive for my business.

Kim
Although we have been pleased with the service we have received with Champion Energy Services the past two years, it is unlikely that we will renew our contract that expires soon due to the higher rates and fees. There is now a $6.95 penalty for using less than 800 kwh hours. (In the past the penalty was for less than 500 kwh which was reasonable for our family and we rarely had to pay.) We try to conserve energy as well as water. Now it appears that if we try to be responsible, we will be penalized nearly every month.

Kim, The monthly fee we have for customers using under 800kWh is actually one of the lowest in this industry. When you're shopping around make sure to read the fine print to understand what you're paying for.

Disappointed in renewal offers
I switched to Champion Energy two years ago because my previous electricity provider was hiking prices up too high. I signed up for a 12-month fixed-rate contract with Champion Energy. My first year with Champion was great and I did save compared to my previous provider. Then when my contract was up my renewal offer from Champion Energy was even LESS than the previous year! I was very happy to sign up for my second 12-month fixed-rate contract. My second contract expires this month and I have to say I'm VERY DISAPPOINTED in the renewal "offers" coming in from Champion Energy. They are WAY TOO HIGH....so high in fact that I'm DROPPING Champion Energy and switching to a more reasonably priced provider. I hate to leave but they aren't even in the ballpark on their pricing this year.

Mr. H - Email us directly at feedback@championenergyservices.com and we will take a look at your account and renewal options. Unfortunately, rates are higher this year than your previous contracts. Sources like this site point out the reasons for increased rates in this industry.

Pleased until new base fee & usage minimum
We are seniors who were taught to conserve natural resources as children and, consequently, are very careful with our electicity usage. Since we rarely go over 500 kWh per month, we had to pay the $4.95 base charge at least 9 months of the year and now they have raised both the minimum usage and the base charge. Really. People who conserve are punished? That just does not make sense whatsoever. In a logical world, people should be charged more for wasting it. Fortunately, I have found a company that charges everyone the same amount per kWh and NO base charge. I can live with that. Since my account is drafted each month, it is not as if I cost them any more than anyone else.

Marilyn - Champion Energy has one of the lowest minimum use fees and we have have no intention of penalizing customers for conserving energy. Glad that you have found a provider who meets your criteria. Be sure to read the fine print of any hidden costs and we invite you to check us out again in the future in the event our fees change.

Stay away from their "balanced billing" plan
Overall, I would say I'm satisfied with the rates and the friendliness of their customer service. However, I got really hosed by their "balance billing" program. Most balanced billing programs adjust the monthly average as you go in a 6 month cycle (based on actual to-date usage) to make sure that at the end of the balanced billing cycle you are not left with a huge true up amount. It's of course based on the last year average but if anything significant has changed (in my case, a new pool), that can really throw things off. Bottom line is I ended up owing $1,000 at the end of my balanced billing 6 month cycle because of it. In fairness, Champion was willing to work with me so I could pay that over a period of 3 months and I even signed a contract stating those terms. However, I continued to get disconnection notices by mail and email. The agent - who was apologetic about the situation and very professional by the way - promised my service would not be disconnected. However, it's unnerving when you continue to get disconnect notices. Well, when I finally got the pink disconnect notice stating my power would be off in 1 week, well, I just went ahead and paid in full. The good: Competitive rates, friendly customer service. The bad: Balanced Billing does not adjust monthly based on actual usage to-date to ensure you are not stuck with a huge true up bill. Contract to pay true up amount over 3 months did not prevent disconnection notices from coming my way. Would recommend Champion Energy Services for their competitive rates and friendly customer service but RUN - DON'T WALK AWAY FROM "BALANCED BILLING" PLAN! :)
Terrible web site, but pretty good company
I have several times tried to use their automatic credit card billing, but have had all kinds of problems. Their customer service people are polite and helpful, but they just don't seem to have the bugs worked out. The web site allows you to log on and check your bills, but almost anyting that you do kicks you out to start all over. I just tried to renew my service contract while logged on to my account. I was taken to a new page asking for my zip code and account number. I had the same experience trying to change payment details. It is like they don't think this whole internet thing is really a good idea, or expect anyone to actually use their web site.

Thanks for the feedback Bill. We are constantly improving the user experience with our website and internal systems to make it easier for you to pay your bills and navigate your information.

Good rate, but poor business practices
I switched to Champion in late September 2012. I received my first invoice in seven days. I pay all my bills on-line or by automatic payment. I signed up for their Recurring Credit Card payment plan. I received an email on October 10, 2012 indicating that I had successfully enrolled in the Recurring Credit Card Payment Plan, but that I needed to pay the first invoice in another manner because the credit card payment would not be effective until the next invoice. So I paid using my bank's bill pay process. On November 26th I received a "Friendly Reminder" that my second invoice had not been paid. Since I had received the October 10th email I assumed it would have been paid already. I called and was told they had no record of me signing up for recurring credit card payment. To top it off I received a disconnect notice two days after the friendly reminder! Who did JD Power query to award this company with anything?

Sorry to hear about your experience in paying your first bill with Champion. This is not a normal practice. We are looking into this and will follow up with you directly.

Online presence needs work
In a deregulated environment the only difference between the services is the website interface and customer service. Champion really falls short on the web interface for the management of your account. The billing and web environments are not actually linked and I constantly get billing notifications through email which I cannot find within the web environment. Automatic payments are limited and has to be configured only at the time before a bill is paid and not at anytime. Even the links within the PDF bill don't properly redirect to the correct webpage for automated billing. I can't wait for my year to be up so I can move to a company that has a web interface from at least this decade. I do have to admit that customer service is prompt, courteous and helpful.

Ricky...have we got some news for you! We are working to change our billing and payment options and our online Manage My Account. Watch your email and bills for more information later this year!

They Have Been Great But Their Rates Are Too High Now
I switched to Champion over two years ago and have been extremely well satisfied. There has never been a problem and the one time I called customer service my question was taken care of immediately. But, I have to leave Champion next month when my contract is up. Why? Their rates. I was offered via email about three weeks ago a renewal rate a little less than what I was paying. I intended to accept the rate but didn't get around to renewing at that time. Then last week I got another renewal offer that was much higher than what I am currently paying. I was told their initial offer was no longer valid and the higher rate is now their current offer. Nope. Bye, bye Champion.

Renewing customers are always offered our current rates -- whatever rate is available to new customers. Rates change on a regular basis, as the wholesale markets change. I'm sorry that you are no longer a customer, and hope you will consider us again in the future!

Great company; wish they had longer Green plans
I've been with Champion for two years now, and am about to sign up for a third. When I first signed up for them, I was looking for the following company characteristics: 1) Decent rates 2) A 24-month 100% renewable plan 3) A solid track record After a lot of research,I did not find any companies meeting all three criteria, but Champion came closest. Switching from TXU to Champion was smooth, and in the first three months I saved enough to cover TXU's excessive cancellation fee. Online payments are simple to set up, and their website makes it easy to look at current and past bills and track usage. I haven't talked to customer service because I haven't needed to. And really, that's the point. An electricity provider isn't something I want to have to monitor every month, but I don't want to pay over the odds for what is just honest business practice. For me, Champion hits that sweet spot on price versus security.

We'll take a look at offering longer green energy plans.

Champion Offers Great Rates
I am a first time apartment renter / bill payer and I chose Champion based on the several good reviews I saw on the company. So far I have been satisfied with the service and communication. After signing up, I have had to make several calls to verify online account information, and the customer service was great! They answered all of my questions and responded positively to any concerns. Their online web client is slightly clunky when trying to change info, but a quick chat with their reps fixed all issues I had and the account changes were immediately viewable. I have signed up for ACH transfer payments, and that went as smooth as possible, being deducted from my account next day! As far as rates go, The company seemed to have some of the lowest in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area I would definitely recommend Champion!

Glad you are having a great experience! Watch your mail/email for exciting news about our new online account management system, which we'll be launching in April. Don't forget to use your referral code when you recommend Champion. You and your friend will both earn a $25 bill credit.

Good All Around Provider
Never had any issues with them in 2 years, rates are not the lowest but customer service and billing is very simple.
Happy !!
I found champion on Texas Providers of electricity. There rating was good and took a chance. I had reliant and was fine until contract expired.1st month off contract 16cents/kilo, 2nd month jumped to 21 cents/kilo, what a ripoff. I called them 4 times to see what offers i could get. The cheapest over the phone was 16cents/kilo, I told them I was not happy and I would leave the company. They directed me to the company website and the best there was 14 cents/kilo. Goodbye Reliant and hello Champion at 10.4cents/kilo. No problems with billing, bit of a long wait to get a live person to pay over phone, but overall very happy.
Average
Had Champion for six months. Rate was very competitive, but online payments were not possible due to a dysfunctional website which never worked. Consequently I switched providers. Additionally Champion only uses 3% renuable energy, and I have switched to a provider using 100% renuable energy.
Recent 2 Star Reviews
Champion, okay, but expensive
All the power companies are gouging customers with the latest rate plans. They push the 24 month plans locking in customers. Gas prices will decrease next which should generate lower priced plans, but changing to a lower costed plan prior to the end of the contract will cost $250.00. There is no prorating.
Champion Energy accounting
switched providers again due to price. someone scrwed up order resulting in an extra $144.00 delivery charge. It took four calls before a supervisor was able to adjust the overcharge. However they did not adjust the applicable taxes. Two more calls, not finished yet. People who answer the phone can't do anything. Supervisors are apparently not onsite with the telephone reps so everything gets done or not by internal emails.
BILLING ERROR
Unable to contact Chanpion to renew my contract. Would not answer the phone for two days. When finaly renewed original contract was voided and new account established resulting in $150 delivery charge by Centerpoint Energy. HAVE BEEN ADVISED IT WILL TAKE 45 DAYS TO CORRECT
Bill to high
For the past 2 months my electric bill has jumped over from 60 dollars or to 100 more.and its only 2 in my household i chose this company bc of the lower rates.if this continues ill search for something in my price budget im extreemly upset about the price jumping were not doing anything different for this jump in my price.
Not what I expected
I wish i didnt signup with champion energy, i am not sure I had a good rate, my bill doesnt reflect that at all.

Suddenly canceled service
After 6 months my year long contract was suddenly canceled with no warning and the only notification was a minor note on a bill. Got dinged for $150 cancelation fee (when I didn't cancel anything).

Ripped off
I had signed up with Champion Energy then got a call from Green Mountain. Green Mountain offered me a better plan than the one I had before. I called to cancel with Champion, then I was told that I had passed the 3 day cancellation period, so I said "ok, then I'll stay with you". Next thing I knew Champion sent me a final bill for 4 days of service with a $275.00 bill. NOT something I expected :( In the span of 2 months I spent close to 850.00 in utility bills from both Green Mountain and Champion Energy.

Wed love to get more details behind your 2 star review. Can you please email us at feedback@champion.energy with more information and let us know what we can do to make this 5 stars?

Contract expires and price gouging begins
I switched to Champion Energy because I read to good reviews and my bill did go down for the time my contract was valid. However, my contract expired and no one told me until I received a ridiculously high bill. I immediately contacted their customer service and was told, "Well your contract expired, we sent you emails to inform you." I checked my emails and there was NO email from them. With all that, I was willing to resign and asked that they make the rate retroactive to the bill they sent. I was told that is not possible and they don't do that. They are more that willing to gouge up the price but are not willing to help. The customer service rep was repeating responses from a play book and offered no help whatsoever. I am very disappointed with their reaction, or lack there of, and lack of concern. If they are such a customer friendly company, maybe they need to train their customer service reps, or have supervisors around who can make decisions. Very sad....

Hello MC,our records indicate that we sent several renewal notices to the email we have on file for you, however we'd like the opportunity to show you that we do care. Can you please email us at feedback@champion.energy and let us know what we can do to make this 5 stars?

Switched to Champion when previous rate expired-Champions rate was .01/kwhr more, but my cost DOUBLED compared to last year's bills. Not happy.

Outside salespeople
Champion hires other companies to go door-to-door, selling their services. The person who signed us up told my mom that she should be getting a discount of up to 40% because she is over 70 and that she could get the discount after her first full bill if she signed a 36 month contract. The only discount that Champion offers is a 10% and that is only on a 24 month contract. They took the person's information, but as he does not work directly for them, I doubt that there is anything they can really do. Personally, I felt that they could have offered her the 10% discount at least for the 24 months, but her contract is too long. On top of all of that, her bill was actually $70 higher than with her original company. We're stuck for 35 more months, and then we are out of here. Champion made no effort to make things right, and they should and could have done better.
Poor service
Switched a few months back, nearly 7 months now. They cannot get my bill right, they keep apologizing but nothing happens. Of course the bill is too high, they don't seem to ahve any hurry in fixing the billing.

Sorry to hear that you are experiencing some billing issues. Can you email us your account information to feedback@champion.energy to investigate this further? Thanks!

Bad Billing Practices
Twice this year we have mailed in our check and they have sent us a notice that we were late in paying. Today when it happened my wife called them and told them that we mailed payment (through a postal box) 7 days earlier. Didn't matter. Not their fault. Well, it isn't our fault either. So now we have a late fee and a hit on our credit. Plus, she then paid by phone and they told her that if (when) the mailed check comes through that they will apply it as credit to next month's bill. Problem is that we do not have an extra $180 sitting in checking. But that's our problem. We have been with them for years and have never paid late. Plus, we have recommended them to many others. But no more recommending them since now we are being treated like slackers. I suppose they are all heartless and soulless corporations these days.

Sorry to hear about your experience. The late fee has been waived and there is no impact to your credit. There was an option to void the duplicate payment over the phone. To discuss further, please call us at 877.653.5090 and we will do what we can to make your situation right.

Unbelievable!!
First, I was told when I first signed up for the service that this was a budget billing account, meaning the amount is the same each month and then I would true up at the end of the contract if there was anything owed. SO, I set up my banking to pay the amount I was told and now this is the 2nd time they have disconnected my power for 21 days past due, this time it was $52, the last time it was $35 and the last time I discussed this in detail with them and they said the account was fixed and would not happen again. WELL, IT DID TODAY!!! I have several issues with this. 1. Why is the bill more than what I agreed to when I signed up for this account? 2. WHY on earth would they disconnect for such a low amount which isnt even 30 days past due? 3. WHY would they disconnect when temperatures outside are near 100 degrees? I explained to them I have animals and I cannot be left to go 24 hours without power. The customer service was lacking. THEY DID NOT CARE. Why is your policy to disconnect 21 days past the due date? IF I can cancel service and go with a different provider, I will. I explained to the CS Rep that I lost my job 3 months ago and I am only on my 3rd week at a new job and would be paid on Friday and that I had NO money to pay today, he didnt care and was very rude when he said as much. But if my bill is supposed to be the same amount each month and you can clearly see I pay the exact same amount since the first payment, WHY on earth would I be treated this way? No compromise, allowing me to set up a payment plan to pay Friday or anything. It was their way, period. VERY Dissatisfied and WILL NOT recommend anyone to Champion energy. I am glad to see so many people are happy with the service but be forewarned, the CS Reps obviously don't have a clue about their product otherwise, this wouldn't have happened to me a 2nd time. ABSOLUTLY RIDICULOUS!!

Good and Bad over 12 months
Over the past 12 months I've experienced the good and bad of Champion Energy. The Good:Rates are competitiveInitiate and transfer electric service smoothlyBill and apply payment on timeHelpful usage toolsCustomer Service is professional, courteous, and answers on less than 3 rings. The Bad:Upon transferring service to a new location, a new account was opened. The current term plan failed to transfer to the new account. Although Customer Service was polite, 5 calls later over a 2 week period resulted in no change, despite many unfulfilled assurances. I was then informed their "contract dept" couldn't keep up with demand.Obviously, I was forced to elevate the situation, and have decided I no longer wish to conduct business with a company that doesn't have the resources in place to properly service my account. Hard costs are one thing, soft costs (demands on my time) are the deciding factor.Perhaps you'll have a better experience.

Sorry to hear about your experience. This is not the norm at Champion Energy. We invite you to give us another shot when your new contract is up for renewal.

Empty promises
This past summer, a Champion Energy rep "encouraged" me to contact her at renewal time and indicated she would work with me. I had replied to a survey and stated that price was paramount for me. When I contacted her, all she did was quote me the rates and state that Champion Energy's "system" could not handle any deviations. I was terribly misled.

Threatened to cut my service when I was 5 days late
I have been a customer for over 4 year - never a late payment. I mistakenly entered the wrong date on bill pay (one month later). The first notice (5 days after the due date) was an email disconnect notice. Wow. I paid the bill immediately and sent an email to that effect with a note that I entered the wrong date. One week later I received a paper cut off notice. I contacted two email customer service addresses (one on the cut off notice and one on their website) to tell them how I was unhappy with how they handled this issue. No one has responded. Really? Pathetic.

Wanda, Can you email us your account information to feedback@championenergyservices.com to look into this further?

I have had Champion for well over a year and was so happy with this company. I had been bragging recently to some friends and said I would gather my bills. Last month and this month seemed little high but I thought it was the colder weather. I went over every bill from the time I switched to Champion and discover in Nov 2013 I began having a delivery charge, on November bill it was $103 but this month it was $170 on top of my normal bill. This was not on any other bill! This makes Champion completely out of the league for competitive rates in this area. Very upset and looking for another provider!

Margaret, Sorry to hear that you are unhappy with your bills. Please know that delivery charges are charges directly from the utility passed to customers without any mark up. You can see how this is calculated here - https://www.championenergyservices.com/my-account/how-to-read-your-bill/delivery-charges-FAQ.asp. Please email us at feedback@championenergyservices.com to take a closer look at your account. You might have renewed from an unbundled product (where delivery charges were part of your energy rate) to our new products where charges from the utlity are completely transparent on your bill.

New Charges
As with several other customers of Champion, I was really happy when I made the change to Champion. Now I am regretting it. These additional charges from Oncor are boosting my monthly bill around $50.00 a month. Look at your bills, PLEASE. It does not say Oncor it says TDU Pass-Through charges. You may be riding on an old contract that does not have these charges so buyer beware when you renew. In the past Champion did not have these charges, I scan and keep all of my bills so when looking back on the older bills these charges were not there. This totally defeats getting a really good KWH rate. I will be looking to cancel my contract with Champion and moving onto another provider. Note to Champion.....some times it is just better to raise YOUR rate to absorb these Oncor charges rather than placing an additional charge on our monthly bill. So disappointed and I have been a long time customer. Many friends are cancelling over this also.

Teresa, We have absorbed increased Oncor several times in the past when these charges were bundled within your energy rate. With the new contracts everything is completely transparent. We want everyone to look at their bill, whether it is with us or their other provider. At Champion we have nothing to hide. The details are on your bill and if you want to see specifically how your delivery charges are calculated you can view it here - https://www.championenergyservices.com/my-account/how-to-read-your-bill/delivery-charges-FAQ.asp. Please email us at feedback@championenergyservices.com to review your specific account.

Hidden "Deliver" charge after 2 years-BEWARE of renewing!!
I recently renewed my service because I absolutely loved the service and were the most competitive energy company out there. I renewed my service as I never intended to go anywhere else. Then recently I looked at my previous two bills wondering why my bill was so much higher. Then I see these "Delivery" charges on my account that are almost equal to my entire bill itself. I CANNOT believe this, and after I called and spoke to a representative, they said that the new contracts now have a delivery charge and the old contracts are no longer being used and if I wanted to change that I would have to pay a 150.00 charge. I referred this company to everyone and now I am warning everyone. I am extremely disappointed at how they take advantage of their faithful customers.

Frances, The delivery charges that we receive directly from the utility have always been on your bill with no mark up. Previously these charges were located in 2 places on your bill - - part of your energy charge and a separate line item. On new contracts we have changed the way this is displayed on your bill to have all delivery charges as one line item. We would like to take a closer look at your account to review it with you. Please email us at feedback@championenergyservices.com

After renewal, the bill skyrocketed!
I was pretty satisfied with Champion energy until my contract expired & I didn't get change to renew it on time. Since then I did sign another contract with them for the lowest possible rate but my bills are astronomical now!!!!!!! I wish I didn't sign new agreement with Champion. This is crazy, highway robery!I know it's summer & this is Texas, but our bill was never this high, ever! Our bill is double for this past month comparing to previous summer months. I will definitelly shop for new company before this contract even expires. Feeling cheated. I used to recomend them, but not anymore!

Melisa, Sorry to hear that you feel this way. Can you email us your account information to feedback@championenergyservices.com so we can take a closer look at your account and why your bill may be higher? We want to make this right. Thank you.

Delivery Charges Substantially Higher
Not happy with the $150 delivery charge on this months bill. I renewed my contract last month and locked in at a lower rate. While my usage was higher this month I expected the bill to be lower because of the lower rate. (.097 vs .122). The bill was higher.
Please explain $150 delivery charge and why it is not any any of my previous bills.

Your delivery charges were not raised. Your current bill may look slightly different than your previous bill as the structure of our products changed. Delivery charges are passed through directly from the utility. Regardless of who your provider is, all providers pass these charges directly to customers without mark up. Previously some of these charges appeared on 2 places on your bill - bundled in your energy charge and as a separate line item. We made it more transparent to customers by listing it directly on the bill. If you have additional questions, please call us at 877.653.5090 or email us at feedback@championenergyservices.com.

Fallen from grace
I've been with Champion Energy since 2009 and have always been VERY happy with my rates. I have always bragged about Champion and referred them to anyone who asked who I used. But sadly, they have driven their prices up and I will no longer remain a customer. I understand all electric companies have seen increases but even with that, Champion has gone from one of the cheapest to one of the must expensive and the no longer bundled TDU rates don't help. Their website has a lot of great features and is easy to use, the bills are easy to pay and keep track off and as of late they have been emailing me weekly usage rates so I know to expect what my bill for the month will be...if you are willing to pay much more for these things than it would still be worth it. But I have faith that my new provider can provide me a quality website and bill payment and I will be paying significantly less for it. I would return to Champion in a heartbeat if they decided to become the people's Champion again one day and return to being a low cost provider.

Sorry to lose you as long time customer. While we always strive to have fair prices in the market, we can not always be the cheapest. There are providers out there that can price really low, but have hidden fees that get ya later. We hope that you check us out again in the future.

What in the world happened?
We've been hit with huge delivery charges after a renewal. Was very happy with Champion until this point. Suddenly, we're paying over $60 for a delivery fee? The "note" explaining these Delivery Charges does not match up with the cost of the fee. According the per Kwh charge, should be about $5. But it is over $60. We were expecting great rates, but this exploded the rate to almost double the cost. That's very deceptive. Champion says "no hidden fees" on their website. When we renewed we never expected to see this. See where someone else posted about same problem. Wonder if this is 1) legal, 2) normal cost with other services. 3) ethical

Since you renewed the structure of our products have changed. On your previous contract the delivery charges (Oncor) were bundled into your rate. To be more transparent of your charges we have separated your energy charge from your delivery charges. This is why it appears higher than you were used to seeing. However, it nets out the same. If you can email your account information Feedback@championenergyservices.com we can explain it in detail for your account.

Started out good
I have been with champion for 4 years. They have good customer service and had great plans. But because they have gotten bigger overthe past few years, they no longer care about giving good rate plans. Their rates are no longer any better than reliant or txu. That is not how you keep good customers. I had rates in the 8's the whole 4 years but now the best they can do is 9.6. Really? I am very disappointed with how things are going and will try a different provider. Hopefully I will be one of the few and pick a decent provider.
Billing Penalty Miscue
I was threatened with disconnection even though Champiuon had my check (which was mis filled-out by me) They treated me as a deadbeat payer, I called and emailed customer sevrice to find out what the issue was and they ignored me. Just told me to pay. I repayed. Then they 2 weeks later informing me the check was address to the wrong company. The wonders of communicating with customet dis-servce. One department doesn't communcate with another. By the way, I am a long time customer and not happy with my treatment

Beware! Your Credit Rating will be impacted if you miss just one payment
Overall, I was happy with Champion Energy Services until I inadvertently missed making a payment for one billing cycle. Our Champion Energy Services account was under my wife's name. I was always paying my bills on time and I had never missed a payment. One time, I made a mistake while setting up a payment using my Bank of America Bill Payment Service. I actually paid the wrong company while my intention was to pay Champion Energy Services. That was my mistake. What was shocking for me was that the one time I missed making the payment was reported to credit rating agencies. My wife's credit rating (the name on the account) was lowered because Champion Energy Services had reported the one time late payment. My wife asked me what happened. Initially, I responded by saying that the bill was paid on time. It took me a while to figure out that I have made a mistake. This is a serious issue. You may not be aware of that your credit rating has been ruined. In my opinion, Champion Energy Services should have made some effort to contact us before reporting us a delinquent. They should have also looked at our history of payments and take into account all this before reporting to credit reporting agencies. One mishap; your credit rating ruined! Since this very serious issue, I had to rate them very low.

Tesh - If you could email us at feedback@championenergyservices.com with your account number we can look at this further. We wouldn't report you to a credit rating agency for one missed payment. And we are pretty thorough in communicating with our customers via email or phone prior to the extreme measure of reporting to an outside agency. Look forward to hearing from you to get this resolved.

Champion charges for paying on line
Am I the only one that is brother by having to pay a $3.00+ fee for paying electronically? I've paid my electric bill on line for years without any fee and did not realize Champion charged for this convenience. Probably would not have choosen Champion had I known.

Hi Betty, We do currently have a fee for making a one-time credit card payment online or over the phone. We are working with our vendor to eliminate that fee. There is no fee to make a one time or recurring bank draft, or to set up a recurring credit card payment. You can find more information on this online at www.championenergyservices.com/paymentoptions, or give us a call at 877-653-5090.

Never sent me a bill, cut off my electricity after admitting it was an error on their part!!!!
I signed on with champion last year, no problems until now. I have not received a bill since I moved into my new apartment, I called to check my bill and they said I was late on my payment. I was told they had accidentally starting sending my bills to my e-mail account ( I do not have internet service ) and that my electricity was going to be shut off within 24 hours. As an unemployed father of 4 children under the age of 6, I am unable to pay a $72 bill until next week and they would not allow me a few days to get the money together. Now our electric has been off for 3 days and my children are burning up! I paid a $350 deposit and they shut my electric off for a $72 bill!

Bradly, Sorry you have this bad experience at your new apartment. I see upon review of your account that everything is now up to date. Please contact customercaremanager@championenergyservices.com if you have further issues.

Regrets - just another tricky reseller
Rates are comparable to local service.
They bill separately from our provider.
Unreasonable payment terms (15 days) AND I had issues trying to pay on-line, every time. Got so aggravated each month I just said screw it and lety them wait for the USPS.
Watch the contract. They bail on you and stick you with a large "TERMINATION FEE." Wish I could tell my customers to buzz off and send them a bill - I'd be a mogul too.

Hi DR, sounds like you are a commercial customer in Chicago. In that market, commercial customers receive one bill from Champion Energy for their electricity supply, and a separate bill from ComEd for their delivery. (Residential customers in Chicago receive one combined bill from Champion). Customers in Chicago can pay online using Automatic Bank Draft (one time or recurring) and a customer care agent can help you set that up.

Bad service and inept service personnel
Had Champion Energy for my daughters college apartment. Put in a transfer notice for service at new address. After several confirming phone calls from Champion power was to be turned on Friday. As of this writing no power at 11 a.m. Monday. After many calls to the service department over the weekend and promises of calls from supervisors and emergency orders for connection ....no power. If and when they do get it on we will be shopping for a new provider. This is south Texas during the summer.

Randy, sorry about your experience. The ERCOT system (state-wide system that manages all move-in transactions) was down for a system upgrade from June 8 - June 11, and move-ins were not being processed across the state (for any retailer, not just for Champion). That should have been explained more clearly over the phone. I'll have our customer care manager contact you to discuss your concerns.

Poor Customer Service and Billing
My personal home and businesses used Champion
Energy for over a year. I moved to a new home
that did not allow me to choose my energy
provider. When I moved I paid my final bill. 6
months later I get a call from a collections
agency saying that I owe Champion. I have never
received an email, phone call or a letter
stating that I had a balance that I needed to
pay although the customer service rep said they
tried to contact me. Tried to resolve it with
the customer service rep but "it was out of her
hands". Well I guess my other businesses will
be out of their hands as I will cancel my
service. Was told I would get a phone call to
see if someone could help me but guess they are
too busy to get back to me.

RJ -- sorry about your experience. Please email us at feedback@championenergyservices.com. I'll look into the situation and work with you to get this resolved.

Poor service
I came home to no power. Called an electrician out and they found that my power was shut off. I called Champion Energy and after 2 calls I found out that someone e-mailed them to cancel my service. I was on the phone with 4 people over 3 hours and they could not help me until they investigate. I was promised a supervisor call back from Ms. Anita twice which I never received. I did not cancel my power and had no reason to. Champion screwed up and I suffer. They absolutely did not care and gave me no idea when I will have power again.

Randy, I apologize for your experience. We received an online notice requesting service shut off. We appreciate you being with us since 2009. I'll contact you regarding a renewal offer, as your contract is expiring in May.
— Champion Energy Services on May 7th, 2012
Go's higher & higher
Starts out a good low price. then as you stay with them they will go higher and higher before you know it you will be up to 14. something. no good.
Crooks -- overcharging
I had picked Champion Energy because of their low rates. That is until my contract ran out and I went to another provider. Even after the 12 month contract had expired I was charged using their month to month billing price. This was still very low, so no big deal. I went with another electricity provider and recieved my FINAL bill ( 16 days ) which was more than the whole month prior. I finally got my bill in the mail and noticed they had charged me 3 times to amount per kWh ( 21.444 cents per kWh )than I have every been charged. I guess that is thier way of saying thanks for your business and here's your stab in the back for leaving us. I'll NEVER go back to these guys again....I don't care if they are the cheapest listing, because I'll pay in the ass when I leave them. I'll also be reporting this over charge to the BBB.

Al, Thanks for posting this and giving us the opportunity to explain. You can contact us directly to discuss this at feedback@championenergyservices.com. We never base a customer's rate on whether they are switching to another provider. Off-contract rates are calculated based on a published mathematical formula, or an "index." When customers are off-contract, they are charged a price tied to the daily wholesale price of electricity. When daily prices of power are up, your rate goes up. When they are down, the rate goes down. A history of this rate can be found here - www.championenergyservices.com/monthtomonth -- and will show that prices change with market conditions, not based on when the customer expires. The best way to avoid fluctuating month to month prices is to stay on a fixed price contract, regardless of who that contract is with.

Great, great provider!
I wish we had switched sooner. Easy to follow bill, great rates, and awesome customer service.
Great price, bad service
I have no problems with my bills from this company. They were always
right, always low, and always forgiven for their lateness when I forgot to
pay on time. Which I do often.
The thing is, they're really hard to get ahold of when you need to talk to
customer service. And the pay-online feature WOULD NOT work with my
computer (I have a mac), so I was constantly having to call and try to
figure out why. They may have finally solved this problem, but I'm moving
anyway so I'll probably switch.
Recent 1 Star Reviews
Champion shady billing
Just to let everyone know the outstanding reviews Champion received is a lie unfortunately. Do not be entrapped by their services, I have been arguing with them for the past three months about a mistake they made on the bill where they were suppose to give me free weekends and tried crediting me for only 65 kwh meanwhile I used closer to 475 kwh when I did the math with oncor. Theyve been overcharging me and trying to switch the bill around to make it seem like they are crediting me for the mistake the billing department made and the customer service representive made when I specifically asked him to switch me to a free weekends account. Something so simple and of course they got it wrong. I will post my bill so you can see the numbers that make no sense and the robbery they get away for the solar buyback rate they have going on it is a nice racket. I switched from Rhythm because of the rave reviews and prices were spiking what a regret. I will be cancelling my contract tomorrow paying them another 250 dollars just to get out of the contract and find another company because of the amount of stress and condescending nature of this company. Stay far away! Youve been warned!
Sorry solar buyback rates
Be aware that they charge full retail on what you get from them at 15.3 cents per kWh. Champion Energy Services only paid 3.3 cents per kWh when my system returned it to them during peak hours in December. I dread the summer. Almika Energy is much better if you live where they are a provider. I am stuck with them for now.
Over billing - found in violation after complaint filed
Champion egregiously overbilled me from June- July 2022 with a failure to disclose my change in rates. I filed a complaint with the Public Utility Commission and they were found to be in violation. Search for the google review to see the decision letter.
Bad Customer Service and Pricing is Misleading
Call to inquire about bill, customer service rep was nasty and negative. Offered no options or help for what she said "Is what it is?"
Twana
Ive never paid this much for electricity in life.
Not happy
I was on the phone for about a hour or so trying to get them to honor a bill that THEY sent me. The lady kept putting we on hold then came back saying the same thing. They charge you whatever they want to and there is nothing you can do because if you don't pay it your lights are off. This company is VERY shady and crooks. I hate I renewed with them in August. But the deceit didn't began until December. This is really sad that they treat customers this way. I am going to pay because I don't have a choice. But I will be watching my bill very closely going forward. Until its time to renew then Im gone. Also I will be contacting The Public Utility Commission.
No compassion for your customers!
How long does it take to get electricity turned back on when you have an infant in the home and the weather is about to drop to freezing tonight? I talked to several different people who told me that since I have a smart meter it would take 2 to 4 hours to get it back on. I mean do I need to send a picture of our 5 week old or isnt there some kind of emergency protocol for situations like this. Im beside myself that you dont care about your customers more than this. Ive never had my electricity turned off. Due to me loosing 3 family members I forgot to pay my bill. I immediately paid as soon as I realized what happened. Can you not text message your customer in this situation before the electricity is turned off? Im so upset with Champion right now. I know you can follow through with Oncor also. Why wouldnt you under this situation. Never again! I wouldnt recommend anyone deal with this company who only cares about money and not also the well being of their good customers
Customer Service Lies
I have spent 2 months now trying to be refunded for a $7,000 overpayment due to a decimal point fat fingering. I realized my error immediately, called their support team, and have been been lied to over and over with regard to the plan to fix it. I've spoken with over 10 reps and they have a different story every time including it being a bank issue (it wasn't, as I did pay that amount since the system didn't block that drastic of an overpayment), I was told 3 times now that my check was being overnighted and it has never showed up. No one can ever give me a tracking number. I'm told it can only be done via hard check vs. an electronic payment. The one rep who did email me has fake phone numbers in her email signature. I've never dealt with worse customer service, and that's including Spirit Airlines, the IRS, and the DMV...and we all know how terrible they are.
I'd give them zero stars if I could
Was a customer for years. Long hold times, and policies that penalize the customer, makes renewals a mental beating. they make it easier to leave them as a customer than to fix your problems. I happily paid the $250 early cancellation fee to get away from them, and I am cheap.
Amazing how bad the customer service is at Champion Energy Services
I have been trying to update my credit card information for Auto Pay for two weeks now. I finally got to a live person after having been disconnected while on hold several times and they transferred me to an automated system where I was on hold for 10 minutes with no service. Your customer service is a "black hole" which is causing me to consider moving my electric service.
Billing problems not fixed
They have serious problems with their billing system and have not fixed it. They are wrongly charging me additional $30. for their mistake and won't remove the charge from my bill. I can't even get a payment to go through now. Problems are worse than before. They are not taking this seriously and are ignoring my repeated attempts to resolve it.
Not Satisfied as a Long Time Customer
I was with Champion's Energy for the last 6 years. Since last month, I started receiving emails regarding the contract renewal. I checked on their website where they have different rates for a new customer and the ones who are due for renewal. I was shocked to see higher renewal rates. I recently switched to a different energy provider who offered a better price. My monthly bills are in the 60-90$ range. My contract was set to expire in the third week of June. For only 20-25 days, they charged me a $250 cancellation fee and send me the huge bill.I called the representative who was not helpful at all. I explained to her that I was with Champion's energy for 6 years and it's not like I am breaking the contract in 6-10 months. For only 20-25days I am being charged 3 times more amount than I pay monthly. The representative was not helpful. She kept telling me you signed the contract and you will have to pay this amount. I asked her if she can transfer me to someone who can help me with this issue and she said she cannot transfer my call and she cannot make any changes to my bill. This was the most awful experience in the last 6 years. In the end, she told me will escalate my request and someone will contact me within 24 hours. At one point, I was happy with them however after speaking with a representative I realized that I was wrong. I will not recommend them to any friend or family member.
HORRIBLE!
Since Covid the website doesn't work, phone service is non-existant, and don't even get me started on the lack of customer service which is a total joke because there isn't any.
This company needs to get there employees off unemployment and get there as___ back to work, period.
I am canceling service as soon as my contract is up.
Use another service unless you want to get mad every time you want to pay your bill or talk to anyone.
HORRIBLE!
Non existence customer service and deceptive prices
It was impossible to get through to an agent. Also your prices were different from advertised prices.
Horrible Customer Service
I renewed with Champion Energy a couple of months ago because of there rating was very good with JDPowers, however, if I had to do it today I wouldn't.You cannot get anyone on the telephone without waiting for at least an hour (which I have done once) and forget about a chat on line because they will never answer you. The website SUCKS big time. I cannot log in and cannot get anyone on deck support to see why. If I hadn't renewed with a new contract or could cancel without a penalty I would. Bottom Line DON"T USE THEM !!!!
Terrible customer server - The worst I've ever experienced for anything
Called 50 times, emailed , even tried the chat line. No one responds. Ever.
Why are my costs increasing when I signed a contract
My costs are 25% higher this year, had to call 3 times to get someone who could even get me any information. Called Oncor, numbers are much different from Champion since I had to call in 3 times to Champion to even get someone to talk with me I am going with Oncor's numbers. Spoke with Gabby who passed me to Oncor with the incorrect phone number, then Adrian who hung up on me, then Cecelia who didn't believe Oncor. So disappointed that I signed a 2 year agreement, can't wait to change providers
The worst of EVER (RUN AWAY)
This is the worst energy company so far I used. The increase my bills over 120% within a year period. Even when I use less of their stupid energy which I can tell by now using both AC/heat in my home and when I out of the state. This company is fraud and I hope those of you ready this wont make the mistake I did by not reading about them and how bad and greedy they are and again they are the worst with fake rate that they don't apply.
RUN AWAY PLEASE
Go somewhere else these people are HORRIBLE!!!!??
My account with them has been screwed up since day 1. They admit over charging me around $300 but I cant get it back. They give me a new run around every time it never makes any sense. They are impossible to deal with and dont care. Champion Energy is big mistake and recommend staying as far away as you can from this train wreck!!!
You better not miss a payment are you will be cut off !! NO EXCUSES
I have had their service for 3 years I have never been late one time. then the covid 19 hit and I got behind by 148.00. which I made payment arrangements to pay 74 dollars then which I did and then 74 dols in two weeks but someting came up and I could not pay it and I called them. I am 69 years old but that made no difference. so now I got my new bill and the 74 dollars now I owe 198. You would think a company would look at the customers payment history and for 3 years never been late one time and now late one time and they are going to cut me off. what happen to customer service. business's are dog eat dog. My contract has ran out even though I am late the representative has asked me do I want to renew my contract. Are you kidding me you want cut me any slack on my bill and they want me to sign a new contract. I don't think so. bye champion energy. treat your customers terrible and they will find another company there are plenty of them. when you realize that there is so much competition out here maybe you will change your attitude.
Liers
This is the worst Electric company. They lied and bill you for not what you use but what they think you should paid. I started with same electrical stuffs with nothing change even less usage and never used AC coz my house is very cold yet they increse it from month to month that I was so agree that when I asked to cut it off they said I shud pay $150. They are fraud the way they charge for bills. I rerated ever switching to this useless Electric Company. Plz don't make same mistake I did.
Renew immediately or you LOSE!
I have had Champion for two years on a contract. The bill before this one was when the contract ended. I had over $300 in credit. Being an old lady, 77, I was not aware that I needed to renew that. So, I just got a new bill with a balance of $299.29. I called and told them I would renew the contract if they would correct that and was told that the state would not allow that to happen...."regulations". I will be switching as soon as I can get someone with another electrical service, probably constellation, tomorrow morning.

Hi Sara,
We send out renewal reminders starting 45 days in advance before the contract expiration date to help give a heads up to our customers before their contract ends. An agent will be in touch with you soon. Thanks!

Worst Customer Service!!!
I never chose Champion Energy the lady manipulate my father to change our company when I was working, when I try to get back to my other company I received the worst customer service, the lady who answer the phone use bad language and was super rude respond to my inquiries. I had a lot of issue in two years but decide just to pay my Billing account and wait for the contract to finish, the Weekly report is insane total opposite of what the lady said to my father and he believed so youll know that how much electricity you had consumed Its overpriced They are helpless and totally out of budget your electric consumption will be more and more every month with Hidden charges- you will pay for your usage, And more charges and the taxes. I Never referred Champion to my friends, and I would never recommending it to others. I'm just glad I made a right choice Yo get back to my previous company. This is the worst company with the worst customer service.

Hi Karla,
Sorry to hear that these issues werent resolved and resulted in you leaving us. We strive to provide the best customer experience for our customers and would be happy to discuss this further.

ALL THEY WANT IS MONEY
This company dosent care about their customers, they care about the money. They were going to shut off my moms electricity, they refused to grant a 4 day extension until she got her SSI check. She dumped Champion energey before they could shut off her electricity. But then they sent her a bill for 400 dollars. They dont care about anything but getting their money

OUTRAGEOUS price increase
I've been a business customer of Champion for years. Out of the blue they increased my rate from .058 to .25016. They claim that is the "going market rate" for this area. A simple search online shows otherwise. This is theft.

Champion Energy makes every effort to alert our customers of their contract expiration in advance of the end date. Once the contract expires, the account will roll over on a month-to-month variable rate, which is visible at any time on our website. We believe in being 100% transparent. Please reach out to us at social@champion.energy or 877.653.5090 if you would like to discuss the matter further.

Fair rates
The rates are a fair deal but the early cutoff rate is to high.Customer service was not that great.

Not quite sure what early cutoff rate you are referring to? Feel free to email us at feedback@champion.energy to address all your questions or concerns. Thanks!

Worst systems I have seen in 50 years
After being with champion for two months (starting Jan 2017) A new property was being developed a mile down the road and in the process of them trying to get power ... our power was shut off for days!!!When I tried to call champion, it was impossible to get a hold of someone and then took them days to get it figured out they explained that it was because of human error and due to addresses and such and promised to make it right with us ... but we've never seen one penny of reimbursement for losses In that process They started a second account for us and said they would have to delete the old account... everything was fine as long as we were going along under contract After calling over 30 times in the last weeks to find out about a notice that was sent to a five year old email address that had to picked up out of Oncore's digital archives, the customer service person said well I see your current email address (Which is the correct one and he could explain how they got the old address and why the notification for going out of service was sent to that address that was not given to them by us in the first placeSince he was the first person we had gotten a hold of after all those calls and 27 minutes on the phone he told me he would have to have someone call me back. I said I rather stay on the line and he said he was sorry but he could not do that and HUNG UP ON ME. Wow!!! I highly doubt that I'll get a callback... The young man said since we are out of contract we would be paying nearly double for our electricity and Said he cannot backdate it to when the contract ended a week ago. Wow again!!! So the longer they wait to get a hold of me and resolve this they will continue to charge me double for my electricity this is outrageous... I don't know what you would actually call this it's not extortion... it seems somewhat like I'm being hijacked or held hostage but however you slice it it's incredibly poor customer service.Call the Texas utilities commission tomorrow when they open back up ...By the way I think this is the second review I have done in my life.I remained calm on the phone and was just trying to get this resolved ... Wasnt upset with the guy... just asked if he could put a supervisor on the line... but clearly being calm and kind doesnt work with these folks.
Champion Energy Year in Review. Zero Stars.
I have been using Champion energy for a year now, and I cannot wait for my contract to be up so that I can switch. I live alone, in a tiny, one bedroom apartment. My daily usage is of some lights, a TV and a computer. My first two months the bills were around $80 which seemed fair. Then the bills started to climb and by mid july, my bill was around $140. I called to ask why that was, because my AC doesn't work and my usage patterns hadn't changed. And to ask why the weekly reports said differently, with many odd energy spikes happening at night when I was asleep. The woman on the phone, Katherine, exasperatedly told me it was because it was summer or that it "must be my fridge" and tried to wrap up the call asking if "there was anything ELSE she could help me with". I told her there had to be a mistake and asked if there was any way to check. She said they could send someone to check the meter but that's it. I said thank you and she just hung up.Two weeks later I got an email saying the meter was fine and nothing else.In september I got an email welcoming me and saying I was enrolled, as if I hadn't been for six months. Then even when the temperature started to drop, my bills stayed high with odd usage spikes even when I wasn't home. Until this month, one month before I would need to renew my contract, my bill is going to be $250.In this same city, my sister's four bedroom house with a pool costs half that.I have no idea how this company has such good reviews.
Deceptive and Harrasing
When first signing up for Champion energy I was quoted a price and my bill was fine, that is for the first six months. Then suddenly my bill increased and doubled with no explanation. I decided to cancel my service after paying my final bill and have since been harassed via email and phone by Debbie Mulefu for what she is saying is an early termination fee. I never agreed to extend my service and its too bad that they are being given such a high rating. I believe that too is rigged and a lie. Apparently Debbie is unaware that once a consumer request that the company discontinue calling and emailing them it becomes harassment. Hopefully this email will make this clear or the $150.00 fee that they are trying to charge me will be paid ten times more to me for harassment. I have reported the company to the BBB and suggest everyone else do the same to ensure that these companies are transparent to consumers.
Weird
I called them to get a rate, decided to go with Cirro, but got a bill for 4.95 that said I owed them 1days fee. I didnt pay it.

That does sound pretty strange. Can you email us your information to feedback@championenergyservices.com so we can investigate this? If you aren't our customer there is no way we would be billing you. Thanks!

Busted
I had my electricity off all day yesterday, according to my activity and how much it cost, it was the same as previous days. They say they give you ten dollars to sign up which translates as we are going to actually keep ten dollars of your money and you cant touch.

We're sorry to hear that you are disappointed. Please send us an email at feedback@championenergyservices.com to investigate this further.

Worst electricity company ever
I should of know I was gonna have problems the first day they told me my service was gonna start on the "18" and when the 18 came up there was no service, when I called they told me there was no transaction or notes on my non existing account. I've made payments through them, not the automated system, through THEM! and the following month I have a pending bill for last month, I check my bank account and there is nothing drafted. Even tho they specifically said the payment was processed! And when I ask they just say "there is no notes about that"

Hi Lesley, We're so sorry to hear about your experience. Can you please email us at feedback@championenergyservices.com so we can investigate this further? Thanks!

Changed billing with no warning
When I initially signed up the price was great and then without any notice my bills doubled. The rate was changed and I was never notified. Lost my trust in this company

Hi BJ. We're sorry to hear that you are disappointed. Can you please send us an email at social@championenergyservices.com to investigate this further?

Disappointed in Communication and Customer Service
I have been a Champion Energy customer for 15 months. I am a loyal customer, and I pay my bills on time (automatic payments), - I've even had previous energy companies offer to be a credit reference. I haven't had any problems with Champion Energy until recently. I looked at my bank statement and noticed the payments were increasing by significant amounts each month. When I called to discuss this, they told me my contract was up 3 months ago, therefore I'm now paying the very high variable rate. When I asked why I wasn't informed of this, Maria got an attitude and told me they emailed me a renewal notification. Well turns out they've had my email address on file wrong from the get go (they switched the order of my first and last name). Their lack of information has unfortunately, cost me quite a bit of money I wasn't expecting to pay, as my bills at this time last year were significantly lower. Times are tough, and when I asked if there was anything they could do to assist or any sort of credit they could apply, With her attitude, Maria said she couldn't do anything. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, she got Lydia on the phone and Lydia was not apologetic and kept insisting they emailed me, so this is my fault. The only option I had was to start a new contract or have my electricity turned off today (Friday) until I could get another company to come out on Monday. Reluctantly, I renewed as I can't go without electricity for 3 days, but I'm moving out in 3 months so I'm going to have to pay $150 early termination fee to cancel. Needless to say, I will not renew with Champion when I move and I certainly won't recommend to anyone I know. I was extremely disappointed with the customer service experience. I would expect much more from a company that has such good ratings and reviews.

We are sorry to hear about your experience as this is definitely not the norm. Can you email us your account information to feedback@championenergyservices.com so we can look into this further? Thank you.

Too high!!!
1st 2 years was ok. Champion decided to be greedy increased rates added extra fees & unreleastic charges. We are no longer charged for our electricity usage but a million more fees. Ridiculous. Champion decided Greed is better then Customers. I called customer service about all the new additional charges. Representative did not care!!! Its all about sucking more money out of your customers. Needless to say. I cancelled my service with Champion and signed up for service with a better company. Champion please do not reply to my review. Save the PR. You did not care when I contacted you previously.

Sorry to hear that Nessa. We have actually eliminated fees rather than adding fees.

Beware...Bad Company to deal with.
A very bad experience dealing with these people I feel that they lied to me and mislead me. My bill did not go down but instead went up. When I canceled with them I was hit with a $1700 early termination fee.
Service Delivery Charge.... BEWARE!!!!!
In the winter months [or so it appears], the service delivery charges on my electrical bills skyrocket. All year i have been charged, on average, approx. $3.00 per month for the 'service delivery charge'. Then in October, i start getting charged around $45+ per month for the same 'service delivery charge'. This is a ridiculous charge/amount. In summary, Champion Energy WAS NOT CLEAR when I signed up for/renewed my contract for service on what to expect with these fees and, how this will drastically affect your monthly bill/average kWh charge [AND APPARENTLY, ONLY IN THE WINTER MONTHS???]. They advertise their overall rates being cheaper than Reliant and TXU but that is simplify not true when you consider the significant increase in service delivery charges they say they pass on to us 'at no markup'. In my opinion, this is just a way for them to make money since winter months are typically less in kWh usage since many people use gas for heat. In summary, i signed up for a fixed kWh rate of .06100 and yet, my December bill reflects a 9.821 per kWh because of all the 'fees' they tacked on to my bill. Shameful... additionally, their online chat never works. Every time i try to use it, i get a message "online chat is offline, please call 800-xxx-xxxx". If you are not going to staff a customer care center to accept online chat, take it off your website.

Larissa, All customers are charged delivery charges from the utility and all electric providers charge this to the customer with no mark-up. In your case, Oncor's monthly customer charges are $5.25 a month plus their deliver charges of 3.33¢ per kWh. You can read more about this here - https://www.championenergyservices.com/my-account/how-to-read-your-bill/delivery-charges-FAQ.asp. The difference between the 6.1¢ energy charge that Champion charges you, the 9.82¢ average price per kWh factors in the "all-in" rate based on your usage. Also, sorry to hear that you had issues with our online chat. It has been updated to only show when our agents are available to chat.

Horrible electric provider
Was with TXU and decided to switch to Champion Energy because they claim to have cheaper rates. They lied my electric bill is higher than it has ever been. I have never had a bill so high and the discounts that they claim do not help what so ever. I will be switching back to TXU and dropping Champion Energy do not believe what they tell you.

Craig, There are many providers out there, some with lower rates and others with higher rates. If the cheapest rate is what you are going for, Champion Energy will not always be the lowest. What we can give you is a fair prices in line with the market, transparent billing, free payment options and exceptional customer care to name a few. We believe in transparency - giving customers the facts with no gimmicks or gotchas. Email us your account information at feedback@championenergyservices.com and we would be happy to take a closer look at your higher bill.

Great experience
It has been a much better experience compared to all the past electricity carriers we have used. The rates have been very reasonable. We have been satisfied with the service so far. It has been really helpful to be able to watch our weekly usage by email notifications.
The best company I've had in a while
I came to Champion from Reliant, and not only did I get a $50 discount my second month, but there have been no surprise charges or hidden fees. Rates have gone up but my bill has not doubled as other companies did. I will be here a while. Use my code to get your discount!
Easy switch, Timely Billing
The switch to Champion was easy and without complication. They bill with plenty of notice to plan for payment. Customer portal is user friendly.
Great switch
Easiest way to switch from one elctric co to another. Customer service was really great.
Great Job!
Twana
Ive never paid this much for electricity in life.
Customer service
Mark H. was great help, he is a people's person, very respectful and kind. It is always a pleasure to engage with people that know how to talk to folks. Mark H. you are the best " Keep up the good job" excellent communicator.
Most appreciative
My name is BRANDON Hunter I spoke Paul. The absolute best customer experience ever. Swear to God please give extra consideration to Paul he should be a trainer.

Thank you!
Champion Rates are often a good choice as a cheap electricity option for Houston apartment dwellers, because they have a low monthly fee and a steady rate.

You made my day
No compassion for your customers!
I like to do far
This company offered the lowest rates so far. And I researched it pretty well. I am happy so far.
Overall Great Service and Pricing
Continuous great service even after the major freeze back in February of 2021. Communicated everything that was happening and biggest thing is i did not receive a ridiculous bill. New customer portal is a lot better as well!
Been really Happy with Champion!
We have been with Champion for a long time now and don't ever have plans to leave. The rates are extremely reasonable compared to past carriers we have used. Thanks Champion!!
Review
X
Champion Energy accounting
switched providers again due to price. someone scrwed up order resulting in an extra $144.00 delivery charge. It took four calls before a supervisor was able to adjust the overcharge. However they did not adjust the applicable taxes. Two more calls, not finished yet. People who answer the phone can't do anything. Supervisors are apparently not onsite with the telephone reps so everything gets done or not by internal emails.
Switch to Champion
Rates are lower than anything I've found and NO HIDDEN FEES
Low rates
I have saved so much on my monthly electric bill. I chose the plan that fit my needs.. Champion offers low rates. Great customer service too.
HORRIBLE!
Satisfied
I loved speaking to a representative who spoke clearly and was easy to understand!
Ever.
Great Pricing and Services!
This will be my 3rd year with Champion Energy and it has been nothing but a breeze to work with them. Love the service, pricing and types of plans that they provide. I needed to transfer the service a little earlier than anticipated and when I renewed as well I got a even better price with the free nights. Only thing is they make you create a new account, which I would rather have all past information in one account Feel free to use my referral ID for a $50 credit! RJueJr73417
GREAT PRICES
EASY TO APPLY, GREAT PRICES, GREAT AND EASY CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY EVEN GIVE $50 IF YOU SIGN UP AND USE MY REFERRAL ID WGarciaRodrigu87309
New Customer ( 2 Months)
Lower electricity cost is my driver, so far so good
Not what I expected
I wish i didnt signup with champion energy, i am not sure I had a good rate, my bill doesnt reflect that at all.

Hi Maoline,

Happy with service
My first bill was the lowest in two years. Could hardly believe it. Right off the bat, I saved the $9.95 monthly charge from other companies. Yes you will still have the 4$4.32 AEP service charge, which everyone has to pay, but other companies add that $9.95 delivery charge, so there was immediate savings of over $100.00.

Thanks!

Really straightfoward
My plan with Champion was reliable and really well priced. I was just so thankful to find an energy company that was straightforward and wasn't trying to deceive me with hidden fees and stuff. Their transparency is just miles above a lot of other companies. I would really highly recommend.

The way these companies calculate the rates is incomprehensible.
Tried to compare companies but so many hidden charges in the companies rates just went with my past experience with this company.

Suddenly canceled service
After 6 months my year long contract was suddenly canceled with no warning and the only notification was a minor note on a bill. Got dinged for $150 cancelation fee (when I didn't cancel anything).

We are sorry to hear that your contract was cancelled unexpectedly. We would like an opportunity to look into this and try to resolve what happened here. Please email us your account information at feedback@champion.energy so we can review this closer.

Champion Rates are often a good choice as a cheap electricity option for Houston apartment dwellers, because they have a low monthly fee and a steady rate.
