TXU's Simple Rate 12 plan is a fixed rate plan. What that means is that the kWh rates between the usage levels of 500, 1000, and 2000 are pretty close together, so there won't be any big bill fluctuations based on usage. Unfortuantely, the Energy Charge on this plan is still extremely high, 25% higher than some other's weve seen, and the rate in question doesn't seem in include transportation fees from the utility. What that adds up to is almost certainly an exremely high bill every month. The plan also has a very high monthly recurring charge of $9.95 a month, which is pretty standard for TXU. There are similar plans on the market for much, much cheaper.

Honestly, this plan looks pretty similar to TXU's Saver's Discount 24 plan. They're both 24 month plans, and they both have bill credits. The Clear Deal 24 plan's bill credit is also $30, but it kicks in at a usage of 800 kWh, as opposed to 1200. The Energy Charge is still extremely high, however, so you'll find to squint to find any savings from the bill credit. The plan also has a $9.95 base monthly charge, and the plan doesn't include any TDU delivery charges. It's a 2 year plan, so you won't have to worry about any market pricing volatility for awhile, but locking in at high rates doesn't seem all that attractive, either.

TXU's Free Nights & Solar Days 12 plan is one of an increasingly popular kind of Texas electricity plan we call Time of Use. In this instances, the energy in a household is "free" for a certain window of time, usually at night, and customers pay a higher energy charge during the rest of the time. This is a good plan for folks who, say, drive an electric vehicle and schedule their charging to happen in the middle of the night, or for technical people who will heat or cool their home during the night and raise their thermostat during the daytime hours. That being said, even by Time of Use standards, this plan is still very expensive with an exremely high energy charge during the non-free time windows. It's also one of the TXU plans with a very high monthly base charge of $9.95.

TXU's Flex Fowrad Plan is TXU's month-to-month/variable electricity plan option. Most electricity companies have a month-to-month plan. The benefits of this plan are that there is no contract, therefore no cancellation fees. The downside is your rate can fluctuate month-to-month by the provider, and that adjustment is rarely, if ever, cheaper. The risk is you can pay double the rate from month to month before you even notice.

Honestly, this plan Is just the 12 month version of the Clear Deal 12 plan from TXU. Same Bill Credits, same thresholds, just a different term and different cancellation fee. The Clear Deal 12 plan's bill credit is also $30, and kicks in at a usage of 800 kWh. The Energy Charge is still extremely high, however, so unless you're the owner of a small home who doesn't use too much electricity, the plan rate will feel high. The plan also has a $9.95 base monthly charge, and the plan doesn't include any TDU delivery charges.

I have had many problems trying to pay my bill on time due to work and health issues. These Representatives on the phone have gone above and beyond to do what they could to help me. I cant explain here. They have helped me get the bill taken care of when other companys would have just said, pay or go without. I really appreciate there help. TXU has excellent customer service when you call, but has scarily aggressive billing tactics. Twice I've paid one day after the bill was due and TWICE have received cut-off notices. My previous provider was a municipal utility, which was superlative and for which I used autopsy. I won't use autopay with non-municipal companies because of the rapacious actions these energy companies took during the February freeze. Like I said, I'm dumping TXU.

I have an office in 75150, because it is zoned in an industrial area, I have a commercial account. And because I travel for work, it's really inconvenient to come back to a dark office. I've been a TXU customer for about year and I HATE the fact that customers are set up to FAIL (e.g. autopay cannot be easily setup, certain terms have to be met. Disconnection notices are sent via SNAIL MAIL when my email address is on file) I'm tired of a company that does NOT listen nor care to help. I cannot wait to LEAVE.

Horrible to deal with and TXU doesnt keep up with their end of the bargain. I left a good company Reliant and went with this company due to they offered 2 $300.00 welcome cards told me I would have 6 months to use it. It expired in 2 months and they would not make right on it. I I was told I would receive call from President what a joke. They would call you and leave a message and when you called them back they never answered the phone even during their working hours 8-5. As soon as my contract is up I am going back to Reliant a much better utility company.

TXU has the worst system I have ever seen for accounting, bill pay, and customer service. I initially thought the rates were decent when I signed on over a year ago. Since then rates have increased dramatically and customer service is horrible. I have been using the autopay feature for 9 months with no issues. In month 10, the credit card was declined for insufficient funds yet month 11 the payment was process for both month 10 and 11. The same scenario happened again in months 12 and 13. After discussing with my bank there is no reason for it to be declined, the account is in good standing, and more than ample room on the credit limit. TXU was set to terminate the service so I arranged for a 1 time payment to the same exact credit card and it was processed immediately without issue. I called TXU to confirm payment and that autopay billing would proceed. NO. Autopay was cancelled when I made the one time payment. Besides all of this customer service was completely useless, could not answer any question I had about my bill, and I could barely understand them.

Absolutely horrendously overcharged. I payed more on average by $75 for a small apartment than any home owner I know. To top it off, after canceling my service they charged me for a full month to make it resemble the average.

I was always suspicious of them. I did switch to TXU and my worst nightmare started. They promised a $250.oo gift card to enroll. When I canceled the service four months later, I had not received the Gift Card and to this day still no gift card. Customer Service does not listen to you, but talks over you. They treat you like an idiot. The representative who signed me up took the liberty of signing me up for 3 years with out my knowledge or permission. I when I canceled the service they charged me $398.00 when I had been told it would be $150.00. That's when I found out that I had been enrolled in a 3 year term not the one year I requested. No one would listen and no one wants to help solve this problem. After the first payment after the canceled service, they turned the account over to a collection agency. The only way they would refund part on the cancellation fee was if I resigned with them. This company will cheat you out of your money. DO NOT USE THEM !!!!!

I have been a customer of TXU energy for just four months and my bill for an 1100 sq ft apartment has been just $30 cheaper than my bill was for my 2200 sq ft house with a different electric company. We made a conscious effort to turn off lights and even turned off the heat/air entirely a few days and our bill dropped a whopping $5.00. Have even spoke with co-workers who reside in two bedroom apartments and they pay half what I do monthly. Ridiculous!

Had been with them 22 years renew my contact and suppose to be lock in but every month was raise so look around found another provider. Then they contact me after the service was going to be cancel and I explained to them reason why but didnt care. Then what top it off I got my bill and wasnt due yet and they call me to pd my bill was out of town told them u look at my records you alway been pd and on time but lady didnt but I told her that I would contact them Monday morning so I did and the lady said she sorry but they wasnt suppose to do that and I explained to her why I left and she thank you and u have a great day.

My bill went up by $200 the very first month from my previous provider. $630.00 for a 2 bedroom 1000 soft house!! Seriously!!? This past month was down to $570. I paid $520 on it last week planning to pay the other $50 today and this morning my wife calls me and says the power is off. Thinking to myself, surely they wouldn't turn it off over $50 dollars so call them and yep, turned it off over $50. So paid the 50 right then and let's just say expressed my displeasure over the situation and not even letting me know ahead of time and she says they emailed me a disconnect notice on the 16th and called me that morning and the day before to let me know. BS. No calls at all on my phone from them. Checked my email and spam for it....nothing from them. They did not want to notify me. They wanted it to get disconnected so they could charge me a reconnect fee. Very unscrupulous people. How ironic that in less than a half hour after getting off the phone with them, the new bill for next month hit my email. Another $618. How odd that the bill has no trouble reaching my email, but not the disconnect notice. I am gladly gonna pay the $295 early termination fee to fire them. And gonna report them to the PUC. Stay away from these crooks. Hey, TXU....YOU'RE FIRED!!

TXU according to the commercials are the best priced around, well they are unless you actually use the electric in the home you live in. I signed up with them online and was told my bill would run 175.00 to 180.00 per month and then the phone call I got after the rep said the exact same thing. I said ok well I get my first bill it was 500.00 ! Are you kidding me? I'm not mathematician but 500.00 Is no where near 180.00. I call them because they turned my power off, no call , no disconnect notice, nothing. They demanded that I pay 200.00 before they turn it back on so I go pay that that turn it back on and they say " oh by the way you have to pay the rest of this month 300.00 plus next month another 500.00 plus reconnect of 90.00 by the 29th" that is nearly 900.00 ! There's no way. They then told me then "call before that And let us know I can't do anything about it now" great so I call them I can't pay much become husband has gotten laid off and my pay was cut in half.
They told me " well you have to pay 400.00 before we will help you"

Me " i was told to call you ifi can't pay by this date that's what I'm doing, I don't have any money"

Them " Not my problem, pay this amount and we will help you"

Me " I don't have any money how can I pay you if I don't have it and I was told to call you if I had a issue well I have an issue"

This went on for about 39 minutes with me trying to get them to understand I have no money to pay them they then informed me that they will turn my electric off again because there has been no payments in my account, I said thar they are wrong that I paid 200.00 they said yes we see that but it does not count, because it's PENDING. Pending??! . I paid that in August why is it pending???? They never did answer that one . So now I'm in jeopardy of having my power turned off again because they lied, are holding money in limbo, they are demanding money before they will help me. That's no way to run a company. They just don't care about anyone but themselves and the bottom line. Oh a d now I find out they put an "Switch Hold" on my account so if they turn my power off I'm outta luck to get any help or power at all because they will want the 900.00 and another reconnect fee. I really hope none of them go thru this and get treated this way ..... Or maybe I do so they can see what they put us through.

I called to change my rate, they locked me in at a 12.5 cents rate, I get the bill, for 19.7 cents, I called to correct, they told me, that was a promotion and that I could not change it, but my contract with them was 2 yrs, they will be charging $295 to get out of my contract early, and they went up on the delivery fee. DO NOT TRUST THEM, Liars!!!

Shady energy company will not honorShady energy company will not honor night and week credit. I was signed for electric power and the were night and weekend free power. I live in 1610 at tremore. I started the account in January 12, 2021. I get a bill on the third of each month, that is crazy. I came in washing clothes in my new apartment at least three to four times a day. my bill was less than one hundred dollars until the summer time. in the summer it was less than 115.00. In September my ceiling fans in my apartment stopped working and I was grateful for this because I knew my bill would go down, Not. I took all the light bulbs out of the ceiling fan and bathroom. the bill shot up. My dryer stopped working so I had to wash at a laundry room for four months. the bill still went up. I don't understand to this day why this docent look a bit suspicious and greedy. I began to unplug the stove and tv all the time. What is going on? Im not happy with being used. I have a baby and he sits in the dark with a few candles everyday. Can someone please let me know of a fair company..........PLEASE......NOW!!!!!!!!!HELP............

No matter the plan, it's over-priced! During the hotter months, leave my thermostat at 80 during the day and 75 at night and I'm paying more for a 1 bedroom apartment than all of my friends with 3-4 bedroom houses in Austin. In fact, when my lease is up next month, I'm moving out of this apartment, which requires TXU and into a house that does not require I use them. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT move into an apartment that requires TXU

They say they are here for you 24/7, which means people that dont speak good English, hard to understand and get answers from a computer not a supervisor and constantly say I understand but the system says. The bills is hard to understand, and calling to ask questions is laughable. 2x I called about my bill and the first time the guy kept making sound affects and I had to ask him to stop, and the second time the guy was a story teller, it was a month we will never forget it was so cold Im from Pennsylvania it wasnt that cold. Instead of giving answers to your bill they will try to disorient you with stories and sound effects. TERRIBLE customer service- looking for a better provider 1/10 do not recommend

I have an office in 75150, because it is zoned in an industrial area, I have a commercial account. And because I travel for work, it's really inconvenient to come back to a dark office. I've been a TXU customer for about year and I HATE the fact that customers are set up to FAIL (e.g. autopay cannot be easily setup, certain terms have to be met. Disconnection notices are sent via SNAIL MAIL when my email address is on file) I'm tired of a company that does NOT listen nor care to help. I cannot wait to LEAVE.

I would not recommend TXU to anyone. Their rates are insane, and their customer service is terrible. They lure you in with "50% off during peak months" but even in a 2 br 2 ba apartment your bill will never be below $300. When you call customer service to discuss why it's so high they tell you "that's just what it is", and tell you to apply for assistance if you cant afford the bill. Save yourself a headache and avoid Txu at all costs.

TXU has excellent customer service when you call, but has scarily aggressive billing tactics. Twice I've paid one day after the bill was due and TWICE have received cut-off notices. My previous provider was a municipal utility, which was superlative and for which I used autopsy. I won't use autopay with non-municipal companies because of the rapacious actions these energy companies took during the February freeze. Like I said, I'm dumping TXU.

I am truly baffled by this whole experience with a representative which they are trying their best. Unfortunately, it left me very disappointed with their services I was behind about few months on the bill and finally caught up by paying all of it in june plus extra 60 dollars to ensure for next bill. I was thrilled to pay it off to 0 plus 60 credit for July. Then i got the bill by end of July that said disconnection notice to pay 245 dollars I was like huh?? This must be a glitch! They literally turned it off and i was like wtf i paid it off then called them to find out why and stated my case that I paid all of it off with a credit also. They keep saying that I didn't. Yes i have proof that i paid all of it off. How did it add up to 245 dollars? I am sure that my bill should be under 40 dollars with 60 credit for July and where is my 60 dollars credit? A rep said because 30 dollars goes to May and 30 goes to July. I was like wait a min. Why May? It is already paid off in June like literally 0. A rep said right but you didnt pay for May. I was like huh?!? Please come back and add the money on june so i paid 250 dollars worth in June so that mean it is paid off right then why Does it have to do with May?!? A rep said because i broke the agreement... what?!?! How is that even possible if i paid all so i didnt break it. He said because you didn't call us first before you paid off?!? why would i have to?? Because it didnt stop and keept going.. it shouldn't cuz i paid it off so i am being penalized for breaking agreement that i didnt know i have to call you first which it is so ridiculous thing I ever heard in my life If i paid it off and it should reset that back to default which mean stop the agreement at a same time. All of that because i didn't call you. That was so shadiest and sneaky to get more money out of us, honest earning money barely enough to get by. A rep said i understand that it is rep's fault and have let you know that. Yea damn right. I aint going to pay 245 for it since i paid all if it plus 60 dollars credit for July. Can you please remove it? A rep said iam sorry i cant because I agreed to it. EXCUSE ME?!!?!? Dude, my balance is 0 and shouldnt be punished for your rep's mistakes. Well it is your payment arrangement that you agreed to it. Wait i asked for an extension not payment agreement. Ohhh that is how you milked more money out of our pocket. I disagreed with it. I am not going to pay it. All i have 10. Well i can put you on another payment agreement that will be in 350 total. Say What? Hell naw. It is only way to get ur light back on then make payments for 6 months plus you will have to pay for current month also. So i have to pay 2 bills per month. That is foul!!! I filed a complaint and they need to add program to the systems that once it is paid off then all of them are voids!!! About four years back, I was shopping around for electricity providers and had reached out to TXU Customer service to know about their plan. Then I took the service from Ambit. No I moved to a house and the previous owner was taking the service from TXU, I called them to connect the service then they told me that I had $26 and some change due on my account. When ordering my electric service the person on the phone did not speak English well enough to be trying to provide customer service as she could not understand my conversation. She set me up as the Owner of my apartment instead of as the Resident.
I have been trying to cancel the Business account that I am stuck with for several days and since the TXU customer service is provided by some foreign country I have given up hope for ever getting this error corrected. I start the service in August-2020 with them and based on their recommendations I start the service with summer saving but I end up with 968.00 bill for the first month and when I called and asked why the center point charge is the same or higher than my electricity charge they tried to convince me that all electric company have the same charges, which is not true. They will lie to you about your bill, they will make your bill higher every month and when you do decide to quit using them they will harass you every single week at least 2 or 3 times a week before the final bill is due. I have been a TXU customer for an estimate of six years and don't plan to make it seven. I opened my TXU invoice for February on January 28, 2021 and after seeing the amount of$544.65, usage of 3315 kw, I knew this was a mistake. I called TXU thinking the amount would getadjusted immediately, instead, their apologies were turning into excuses, realizing customerbloyalty didnt matter. Centerpoint came out the following morning, not my request, turned off my electricity for a metertest without any notice. I am on time with payments, so I knew that wasntthe reason, so I immediately went to the meter, where I asked Centerpointrepresentative why he turned off my electricity? He replied , he was doing a meter test, requested by TXU. After our conversation, I learned he had installed a new smart meter on September 20, 2020, the same date I transferred to this apartment. I confirmed the installment date with three TXU customer representative, two supervisors and a senior manager. I was told the smart meter is working correctly and I would have to pay the due amount, $544.65. This amount was double from All my past monthly invoices and the same after comparing current neighbors usage, with same floor plan.I spent several hours on my TXU account dashboard, where customers are told the information is efficient, able to track real time usage, showing an estimate during billing period and an actual at the end of billing period. I manually added all daily usage/cost for billing days and the total was half of what was showing on statement. TXU Supervisor & Manager confirmed the mistake, only to tell me they had to open a new investigation ticket withCenterpoint. I stated several times, I am a TXU customer, not a Centerpoint customer, and why do I have to wait on what they decide about my TXU account, when TXU is their customer, not mine.After my research, I found misleading information on several past invoices, needing answers to my questions, only to receive dishonest answers. Old Meter ID 9227319 was replaced by New Meter ID 88305995 onmy move in date,September 20, 2021, the date my start of bill cycle, ending October 20, 2020. Instead, my Original invoice for this period shows an Actual Read from old meter. My December original invoicel shows old meter ID with estimated reading. My January 2021 original invoice is the first invoice showingnew smart meter ID, along with bill corrections for Dec, Nov, two for Oct(all 2020), showing Actual Readings from new meter and new charges. TXU, states on "myaccount dashboard", your monthly bill provides your official usage asdetermined by your local transmission and distribution utility. I paid my original monthly invoice for October, old apartment that I transfer from, differentmeter and three days at new apartment, of which I had not moved in yet. November, December2020 invoices were changed, showing on my January 2021 invoice, with new actual readings, changing the meter information. I paid $300. on February's invoice, waitingfor Centerpoint to complete their investigation. I recently received March 2021 invoice, showing newcorrections, for February, along with new Actual readings for all past invoices at new address, Oct, Nov, Dec 2020,( third time on changes) Jan(second time on changes) & Feb. 2021(moved the amount difference to previous months in 2020. After many hours reviewing the invoices,phone conversations with TXU representatives and consumer support representatives, I amupset and will Not allow TXU to bully a loyal customer, especially when TXU is not following their own policies, taking advantage of loyal customers by giving the choices, 1) pay the amount they are demanding or 2) No electricity. I filed a complaint with Better Business Bureau(BBB) & Public Utility Commission(PUC), both have opened investigations. TXU needs to take responsibility for theirmisleading, dishonest and bad service actions. I paid All of the Original invoices and as a loyalcustomer, l deserve better than what is occurring.I have all original invoices, showing the changes and other documents pertaining to this matter and I should not be dealing with TXU's mistakes.

Folks I want to share how being lazy has cost me money, always put off shopping energy providers until I had another $600.00 electric bill (extra usage) due to my mother-in-law living her last days out with us (4 months, only thing I can justify a large bill with, and really nothing changed). I finally listened to my nephew and connected with Energy Ogre, I've had 2 full months with them and my bills have been $130.00 and $126.00, which just makes me sick for not looking into this sooner. A TXU Rep called to see what it would take to win us back and once I said we were now with Energy Ogre she said Thank You very much and hung up. SHOP ENERGY OGRE. Not knowing much about all the different energy companies that are offered in Texas I went along with this one. I was a customer for 5 years and was never told that I was under an average billing plan. Once I decided to go with a different energy company when my plan ended with TXU I was told that I owed over $700 because I used more energy than the company averaged out for me. Now as far as I know with average billing base on past usage a specific amount is set by the energy company that is paid every month and at the end of the term there is either a credit, an amount owed or you break even. My monthly payments were never the same. It always, so I was very surprised when I was told this. Of course, I could not pay the entire bill. I paid $25 a month but that was not enough for the TXU and my remaining balance was sent to collections around January 2020. In August 2020, I paid the entire collection and was told that it would be removed from my credit report. The collection was removed but the charge off the account was not and I called the company only to received a letter saying that the charge-off account will be removed 7 years from now. Ive only been in Texas for 3 months and this is company riffed me off. For being here months i paied them total of almost $2000 worth of electricity and cancel fee. When i opened the acct, ive been told cancel anytime. But once i found out my bills were constantly $400 + every month eventhough nobody is home, i decide to nolonger want to do business with them. They charged me $300 to cancel the service. If anyone file a lawsuit against this thrief, im after. Unbelieable.

1/27/2021 My husband I had called to ask why our bill keep going up? The gentleman told us our contract has been expired since October of 2020. We never got a paper stated that the contract is about to be expired. As a customer I think TXU should at least called to ask if we want to keep the services. I called today to see what can we do? I kept getting people that was rude and tell me if we dont pay than our service will be cut off. Then he told me to call 211. When I called the third time to speak to someone that works on Sales Dept. She was awesome and I wish everyone was the same way. The we got contract instead pay every month. I had forgot to ask her if we were responsible to pay the remaining balance. I dont think we should pay $300. When you change month to month basis to contract. Plus we still owe $230.03. I cant afford these outrages prices. I even told this supervisor that I couldnt pay these outrages prices. This manager had no Sympathy. I wasnt happy with the service. TXU used to be awesome. TXU is trash!!! I told the supervisor Im the only person thats working. My husband is disabled and he cant work. Horrible experience with TXU

Txu reports false info to the credit agencies. Bill is paid and when i disputed the account they report it as consumer disagrees versus reporting it as paid. FCRA AND FCA will be used in lawsuit against TXU.

I'm not a writer of bad reviews but Jesus Christ, TXU has irked me to the core. I moved to Texas in 2019. The apartment complex I moved into required tenants to contract with TXU. Of course I went ahead and made an account and signed a simple electricity contract. The contract was for 1 year. Once my year long lease at this apartment complex was coming to an end, I decided I wanted to 1. move to a new apartment and 2. no longer be a TXU customer. At this point, the only reason I wanted to switch electricity providers was because TXU was quite pricy for no reason. I knew there were much better options. Might I add, this was my first time living alone. I made the assumption that my year long electricity contract was over, and I did not want to continue service, so my service was over. I'll take responsibility for this one, though. Was my mistake. I was supposed to call and actually cancel it. My lease and electricity service ended at the end of July, 2019. As of July 2019 I was 100% paid off with TXU. Owed them nothing, apparently. Until a few weeks later, I noticed TXU pulled $250 out of my account. Thought it was strange, especially because the amount was nowhere close to what my usual electricity bill was. I knew it was some sort of mistake so I disputed it with my bank and they reimbursed me within a few days. NBD. But then it happened the next month, and the next month, and the next month, oh, and the next month. All in all for a total of 6 months. Obviously, something was up, so the second or third time this happened I called TXU. They explained to me that because I didn't cancel my service I was actually paying for someone else's electricity, whoever moved into my old apartment after me. I was shocked? Concerned?? So trying to get to the bottom of this I'm transferred to about 7 different people all who try to explain the same confusing story to me. I explained to them my situation where I told them, hey I forgot to cancel this service and again, that's on me, but asked "can you forgive this?" They said yeah. Key word SAID. They told me it was taken care of, this wouldn't happen again, I was completely paid off. All was well until I continued to get money pulled out of my account. About $250, but each time the amount was $20 + or - different. Each month I called, spoke to a new person who told me a DIFFERENT story on why I owe $250. It was never clear. Oh and forgot to add, several months that this happened they pulled this money out of my account so I couldn't PAY MY RENT ON TIME. I'd say I ran into 4 $50 late rent fees because of this. And one time couldn't buy groceries because of this. Every time I call, I am convinced by John Smith in the call center that this won't happen again. Probably after the 9th phone call to TXU it was suggested that I file a claim through TXU. So I said OK. They "filed a claim" and just never got back to me. So I finally called them about it and they said "OH we have great news! You actually don't owe us this money!" No sh*t! "But you do actually still owe us $97 because you didn't pay your last bill." OH REALLY? So they went on to explain that my last bill was paid but then was apparently refunded back to me (for no reason at all). After MONTHS of them saying I WAS PAID OFF. So after 6 months of dealing with this they're like "oh yeah you don't owe us THAT money! Silly! You just owe us this OTHER MONEY!" It absolutely is unjust for them to still be trying to charge me. It's now 6 months later and I'm still dealing with this. Spent an hour on the phone with them today. The "supervisor" put me on hold for 25 minutes to "find a solution." He came back on the line to tell me that there's no solution. OK perfect, TXU has wasted yet another (I know, shocking) hour of my life. In the past 6 months, I've probably called TXU 15 times. 0 of those 15 calls were productive. Since having this newly discovered balance, TXU has called me everyday. I just opened my voicemail and without scrolling theres 7 robo voicemails from TXU. Huh, its funny, I didn't blow TXU's phone up when I couldn't afford groceries because of them. Shame on TXU. This is astronomically absurd. I will NEVER be a customer again and will NEVER speak kindly on this company's behalf.

I was sold a plan on the phone that was not what was described in the term that I received so I tried to cancel within an hour but unfortunately I was told that the service was already switch and I have to wait the next day to switch back to another provider but I was assured that I will have nothing to paid (or if anything a very small amount for the day of usage). Now I received a bill that yes show a small usage of $1.29 but on top of that they charged me a $9.95 of base charge!The same day I had a manager called back to apology and ask me if he could anything to get back my business but really now I don't think I will ever consider TXU and even recommend them to anyone!

The service was honestly fine when I was using it. However, I called and informed them I was going to be moving and instead of scheduling the service to be disconnected and the "Going to be Disconnected" issue on the website they kept my service going stating I specifically had to call and have the service disconnected! Be careful and look at more places! This one is just a trap in the end waiting to scam you out of as much money as they can get! Not to mention their customer service sounded like they were in India and I could only understand half of what was being said! Would not recommend!

Called in to renew my TXU Plan because my current plan was expiring 12/2/2020.. Spoke with customer service rep at 5:38pm. He told me about the Precise Saver 24 Plan. But I was trying to see the difference between the plan I have now and the Plan he was speaking of. The customer service rep was acting as if I was getting on his nerves with my questions, like he did not want to be bothered with me. I found myself telling him if I am cannot ask you questions let me know and I will hang up, call back and speak to someone else. By this time I had no interest in what he was talking about, over it literally. Been with TXU for 2 years, and this is ridiculous.

I don't recommend TXU. They charge to much. They have deffred payment add it up you pay more than you owe. The turned my service off 3 times, and I pay a portion to restore sevice. They recommened I call 211, but they couldn't help in time. I told them this keeps up I will got with somebody else. I have I am now with Green Mountain energy, they are wind powered and charge a whole lot less. My advice to people is don't use TXU, unless you don't know better or are wealthy. Bye bye TXU, I do not recommend you!!!!!!!

TXU is the very worst power company ever. I had to make formal complaints three times against them, not one person in the company is an American and they do not understand anything you say. Instead they keep talking and talking and talking then they hang up on you. They are over priced and do not write any notes on your account if it is not what they want to write I had been in a deferred payment plan three times and they cancelled it before I even was able to get one payment into them. they would set it up and then the very same day it was canceled and they would say I never entered a payment plan. I turned them in to the BBB and the commissioner ....I ended up having my power turned off and refused to have it turned back on, the supervisors called me day after day trying to make demands that I allow them to HELP me.. hahahaha no thank you.

You are not wrong about your contracts should have read before changing to apartment to house was told 8 cents flat rate per kwh to a certain kwh now find out I'm paying the average charge per cent at 13 cents a kwh, then called and gentleman on the phone trying to make me fill stupid then once explaining to him he still tell me I don't understand and repeats him self then just says thats the average every txu member pays. Then ask is that all and said no and thank you and then hangs the phone up. After decades of dealing with a municipally-owned utility, I moved into an area serviced by TXU. The experience has been terrible. There are outages with even minor storms that last for hours. Support is outsourced to the Philippines, and any call lasts 30+ minutes. My power was disconnected with no warning when a bill was apparently late. No call, text, email, or physical notice. $60 in reconnection fees. You cannot set up online payments on the phone. Filippino customer service workers repeatedly disconnect from the line, forcing you to call back in and repeat everything.

When I signed up in Dallas the spring of 2019 I felt like this was an excellent option as the previous owner had this service.. however twice I had my electricity shut off because of a mess up on their end and I lost everything in the fridge. I called back and explained and they said sorry it happens sometimes... I canceled my service with them in March, AND it is now July and Im still getting charged after a last payment was complete in May? I switched to this company over a year ago and it was the biggest mistake! My bill is about double every month what it used to be with my old provider and they charge a crazy amount for delivery charges! I'm very happy to switch back to my old company that was actually affordable!!! My winter Bill's would cost around $400 ($300 for the electric and $100 for delivery charges) I definitely wouldnt reccomend switching to txu unless blowing money is something you enjoy!

On Feb 14th I called to have my service transferred and I was informed they did not service the location I moved to. I then told them to cancel my service on the 29th of Feb. On March 2, I called to verify the account was closed, I was informed no. I told the rep I requested it closed on the 29th. The rep credited me for 2 days and told me the final amount I owe was $85.13, which I immediately paid. On March 3rd I received an email stating I owed another $42.19. I called and the rep was basically rude with me, stating they had to listen to the recordings. I advised the rep it was wrong for them to tell a person the final amount then later charge an additional amount. I also have the calls recorded as well. I will never recommend TXU nor use them again.

I got ripped off by TXU today. I signed up for average billing, and after 12 months my cumulative balance is $97! I am someone who never uses more than 1000 kwh on any month., and $97 worth of electricity is about 1000kwh at my rate. This basically means that throughout the year I was undercharged for my usage, and I got slapped with it at once at the end of my contract. When making the decision to sign up I read the information about the average monthly billing on TXU website, which is very misleading:"With this program, you don't pay less or more. Over the course of the year, you'll pay the same on this program as you would if you weren't on the program. However, the payments are pretty even throughout the year, so it's easier to manage your budget."My experience made me believe that average monthly billing did not work in my interest as a consumer as it was advertised. On the contrary, by lowering my monthly bills, and at the same time growing the my cumulative balance, TXU made me believe that I was getting a good deal

I have had TXU for 3 years now and their prices are a scam. I have tried both free nights plan and energy saver plan and there is NO difference in the prices. Last winter one of my bills was over $200 dollars one month. When I called to ask why the rep asked me about my appliances...which I told him where all natural gas. He told me that because the summer before was so hot in Texas that the company had to "buy" electricity and "oh well". TXU estimates all their bills, I know where my meter is and have NEVER seen anybody come out and read it...not once. I live alone in a small two bedroom house but my bills are always at least $200 or more. I was promised this last time to get 9 cents a kwh but in the contract and on the bill is actually a sliding scale....to get the 9 cents I have to use more energy...the less energy I use it costs more per kwh. So TXU gets their money no matter what! Can't wait to switch providers in February....

Was told it would be resolved the next day.
Next day happened , was told it would be taken care of THE NEXT DAY ...
Called again the NEXT DAT, and was told it would be fixed in the next 24 hours !! It wasnt until I made threats to make the issue bigger than what it needs to be and close out my account that I had my money back in my account in 30 minutes. Trash . It took 2-3 days to turn on our electricity because the previous tenant left without paying his bill so a hold was put on our apt unit. What another irresponsible person did does have a bearing on us. So why was it made to be a hassle for us? Secondly, the due dates vary ridiculously from the 2nd to 8th of the month, which makes submitting payment another hassle. When we were late a few times, we were denied the late fees to be waived. Finally, the rates were OK, but definitely not great. Will be switching to Frontier. I suggest others do the same.

I had talked to the scheduling department and was told that someone was coming within a week. After that time has elapsed, I called to see what was going on just to find out that my order was there but wasn't actually scheduled. After that was taken care of I finally received a date, the technician came out and couldn't get the thermostat connected to the WiFi. He said that it was the "internet password" even though other devices inside of the store, laptops, and customers cell phones had no problem connecting with the same exact password. I had called to request another technician at another date and they asked to speak to the one present. He had the audacity to say that I needed to call the internet provider to see if my password was correct after all the devices were being connected, even his cell phone was connected with the same exact password. He disconnected the thermostats and said that he had to come back out and that the center was going to talk to technical support and give me a call in 30 minutes. After about 45 minutes passed, I called back and was told that they had no intention of sending him or anyone else back out because since the technical didn't know how to connect the devices I'm considered ineligible. So since they were part of the package, I'm looking into another provider.

TXU Energy is the WORST. Sense signing up with this company, I have had nothing but issues. The most recent issue:Changing my due date WITHOUT even asking or informing me of said change and billing me 4 times on separate charges sense moving.When I contacted the customer service, all I kept getting was "I'm sorry, but we have no say in when the meter is read"I get that, but YOU do have the power to update my due date back to what it was and has been sense Feb. So sense my bill has already "generated" y'all refuse to change my due date. The only thing yall are saying you can do is set up a payment plan, but I will still be charged a late fee even tho I knew NOTHING about a date change. Not only that, but customer service tells me to call back for a one time curtsey fee removal for "when I get back on track with my payments". Um excuse me? I have paid on time sense signing up and have never been "off track".Yall changing the due dates to trick people into paying late and racking up the late fees for your benefit is so bad. Your employees leave out critical details and then tell customers there is nothing yall can do to help. Yall have told me lies about pricing and never seem to want to help or take blame for your mistakes.

A couple months ago noticed summer bill was higher then last year same month and used less this year 1311 vs 1300 kw added 85.00 this year turns out price rate was up to 13. vs 10 i think. finding plan this week and when TXU trys to charge me disconnect will be playing the tape for them and media.

I had someone come to my door and unfortunately I answered it - something I rarely do if I don't know who they are. She was from TXU and talked to me into switching providers. I told her I was very unhappy with my current provider because they couldn't seem to get my direct pay from my bank set up. She assured me it wouldn't be a problem with TXU and so I switched with those assurances. I provided the necessary information. Well - you guessed it - in 3 months time i've received 2 disconnect notices because I assumed that they were taking payments directly from my account. When I called them they told me that they had no idication or information about direct debit. I was suppossed to have gotten a $250 rebate credit card. I won't get that now I'm sure - either way i'm switching as fast as I can from this show. Oh - I did try to give them information over the phone but you can't talk to anyone but their automated agent they are so proud of. I waited 30 min. on hold waiting to give them payment information before I finally hung up. I'm beginning to think they don't want you to have direct debit so they can collect more disconnect fees. RUN as fast as you can away from this sorry bunch - lower rates maybe but they'll get to you in the end.

I was tricked into an 'awesome' free nights plan. Except this is actually the most expenisve bills I have ever received due to various charges and fees that were not estimated for me upfront. They sneak these charges in so they can bill you ridiculous amounts once you are trapped into a contract with them. Then they did not send me an email when my bill was due but were somehow able to send me an email 5 days after it was due, charging me a late fee and a disconnection notice fee after only 5 days when they are the ones that did not send me my bill to begin with. I cannot wait for my contract to end so I can leave this horrible company.

A quoted price of .87 per kWh ended up being .154 (almost double) for billed usage of 626 kwh totaling $62.90. TDU charges and "other fees" total $32.66. Total bill $96.99 to cool an 800 square ft apartment with thermostat set at 78-79 degrees. I will never use TXU again and cannot recommend them to any. I've been with them for years and they were fair. Now they're just outrageous. I changed plans but not feeling very hopeful. Customer service rep said he's in Nicaragua.

I am a prof, I wanted to move out after three months in the new year (after being their customer for a year) so I did not respond their renewal letter (as they push you to make a contract for one year and I knew I am not staying for the whole incoming year, and you presume they charge you if you do not fulfill the contract), then they charged me %50 more per kWh! from 7.2Cent to 10.8! for about 6 more months (I had to teach 3 more extra months). As they did not inform me in their letter about this huge jump in the rate, I believe they intentionally do that. I asked from a few other people who had plan with TXU and they said they had similar problem with TXU, so they are absolutely cheating and they definitely know what they are doing.just imagine they sell you something (even they do not produce!) %50 more expensive for 6 months.

My biggest complaint is that they will not adjust your billing date based on what works best for you. I called to request that my mothers billing date be adjusted for when she receives her social security check and they would not budge. Currently, her bill is due before she gets paid and she is constantly receiving disconnect notices and late fees because it is hard to budget on the limited means shes provided. Even though she is disabled and elderly, and its in the middle of summer in TX, they still plan to disconnect her because she cannot afford to pay the $30 they are requesting for the extension. I completely regret having changed her service to TXU. Dont expect them to accommodate you. They wont.

First of all I have to say this was one of the worst experiences ever. I would also like to add that these two gentlemen Rocky Rayos and Cosme Ortega out of Midland Texas went above and beyond for me trying to fix what happened to my electricity and why it took 3 days to get it back on after a mess up from the company. No offense due only to the fact these gentlemen were genuinely concerned and worked diligently to help me in figuring out what was going on and why. In my opinion the customer service was fantastic. The organization and something with dispatching is way off. Me and my two young boys went almost three days without electricity that was suddenly shut off three weeks after starting service. This was due to the wrong meter number as well as the wrong address. If these guys didnt care so much this review would not be good it would be horrible.

I have been a customer for 7yrs, apparently my contract expired in March I got a bill for almost double of what I was paying, contacted customer service so that they could resolve my billing issues and help attempt to adjust my bill and was told that the higher rate was what I had to pay since I didn't renew my contact. I have paperless billing with them and was told I should have received a letter stating the contract was ending in January, what is the point of paperless if you can't retrieve the information when you're online. So my contract ends and the rates go up. Funny thing is when they want to solicit business they can call you all day but as a customer they can't call you about your contract and discussing rates instead customer service gets an attitude and speaks to you as you don;t have a choice but to pay the rates they decide to bill you for. Currently looking for a new company with better customer service that will treat you like you matter.

I have had TXU since I moved out of my parents house. Was referred by my father who had them for years because he hates leaving companies hes loyal. Which TXU dont care about loyalty why would they. Anyways I had a high bill they put me on a payment plan to lower my bill which is to add a payment to my next months bill. My next months bill was high again and I mean 459 dollas high. It seems there was something wrong with my AC which caused the issue. So I called again TXU guy made me get on a contract and told me this would lower my bill. Since I don't work. I received this months bill it should be less than 100 dollars but they added 350 dollar charge. I called to ask them to help lower this I would pay it but smaller payments I cant afford each month a bill over 200 dollars and they just say we understand but they dont help. Am I missing the email or text that there is no humanity or understanding of any kind? Did we just all become robots? I will pay what I owe but not all at once and they cant help. What a shame. As soon as this contract which I was forced into lied to is over I'm switching since they don't care about loyalty or humanity why should I care about being a customer.

Our bill jumped from $303.33 to $607.51, with ZERO change in kWh usage. ZERO! TXU sttaes its an Oncor demand charge increase on out TXU BILL and Oncor states its a TXU issue. In 2 weeks we have spoken to 6 representatives, 1 supervisor, submitted a dispute and no one can explain Nor can they correct the bill. There supposedly is no one who can explain or fix it the issue. The just keep reading the disclaimer about demand charges. We explained in GREAT DETAIL that if they would just pull the invoice history they would see the exact kWh on one bill and compare that it is a $300 diff. The same invoices we will be submitting to TX Public Utility Commission. This easy fix has become such a nightmare. We never had these issues with Reliant at our old location.STAY AWAY FROM TXU

I have used TXU for years and all of the sudden i get my personal information stolen and am a victim of identity theft and i have had over $1000 stolen from my account and two additional accounts opened in my name and they are making me go through months and months of processes to get my money back even though they clearly know my information was stolen. How can They let other people open accounts in my name to begin with. They keep pushing my dates back to get the status on my account and I keep having to recall them because when I miss calls they do not leave any voicemails to call them back. I live in an apartment with my child and my bills average 160.00 suddenly when the fall case. Check this, I turn off the appliances e.g. stove, washer, dryer at the breaker to ensure my bills are not high. Im typically gone for 7-9 hours a day and NEVER turn on the heat which is also turned off at the breaker. I use a space heater, FYI. I called several times to inquire why my bill in three years has sky rocketed. They had tried to throw out the holidays, family being over and cold weather!! First off, you stupid LIARS, my family does not even live near me and I have not used the central heating!!!! I threatened to call the news and a few days later a lady called from the txu executive presidents office to speak to me. She gave me a $50 credit- my bill was still over 100.00 that month. I know they are either price gouging or average billing because they were initially billing me for 14 days and I didnt notice. Then one day I compared my bills back to 2015because I keep everything, and I was paying 70.00 for 14 days and I thought it was for a 30 day period. I was paying around 60 a month prior. Currently, My average kwh is .08!! Once I switched my plan to 12 months and received a 100.00 reward bonus that bill shot through the roof into the universe and they cant tell me why. Once I get rid of these thirsty, lying thieves I will never look back. I called the last lady at the presidents office to cancel my contract as she hasnt called me back- its been 4 days! I hate companies that take advantage of people

I was a customer of txu at my old place and NEVER got my electric cut off or paid a late fee. When I moved into my new place I thought I would be a loyal customer to txu and get that service again, WRONG! They tried to make me put down another deposit of $250 after being with them and showing for a year I can pay, so I declined. A couple hours later I get a call from a supervisor saying that they could offer the service with no money down. I declined the offer because I had to get another electric service so I could get my keys to my apartment. So fast forward a month later and come to find out the new electric company messed up my apartment number and put the service somewhere else. So trying to be a loyal customer, I called txu back. I told the young man what I was offered last month and he asked for the phone number so he could look up the call. They looked up the call and heard that the rep was being a bit deceitful saying things under his breath so I wouldn't hear him. So they offered me the plan I wanted with a $100 down payment split into 2 payments. I told the young man that I didn't want to do that either because I was promised something else and I felt like they were taking advantage of me. When I woke up this morning I decided that I would give them one last chance to get things right, so I called txu to take that offer. Come to find out they didn't notate ANYTHING we talked about in my notes so no one even knew I spoke with someone the day before. So I asked for a supervisor. They wouldn't even go back to listen to the calls when I told them I spoke with someone. The supervisor was very unhelpful and wouldn't even try to satisfy a customer. They are NOT loyal to their customers so I nor my people will not be using txu again.

TXU is the CRAPIEST electricity provider. There rates are high, probably highest. You have read their fact label very carefully. On top of that, they will charge you $25 Return Fee if the automatic credit card payment doesn't get process the first time. Don't buy electricity from this company and if you are current customer you probably paying alot higher charges than other companies, and I would recommend to switch your provider.

If you are struggling in life~its only going to get worse. They tack on charge upon charge upon charge even when they get the phone calls as i try to make the effort to get caught up and try my best to be responsible.30+ years of faithful pmts. then cancer and divorce and 5 years of hardship trying to regain a footing. What other choice do you have? I've been loyal customer to TXU for more than 4 decades. They're trying to kick us off of our plan (SureStart). They say it's been discontinued. However, they cannot or won't tell me what mo-to-mo index plans they have. Their TOSA says they sell'em but no one in Exec Ofc can answer question. We don't won't a term or variable rate plan. We only want to pay for electricity that we actually use mo-to-mo. We don't have internet. I'm at the library w/unsecured wifi. I've been trying to get help from Exec Ofc since 10-18. They're not offering any solutions to help. I've opened e-mail acct at library (that I don't want) to file complaint w/Exec Ofc. I cannot respond to any e-mails sent. I've really no time to go to library everyday. Have left multiple phone msgs to Exec Ofc. VERY, VERY DISAPPOINTED w/lack of response, communication by phone & consideration for a long time customer!!!!

I called in a couple of days after service to verify the rewards Ill be recieving. They told me there was no tracking number or any verification Ill be getting. I called again a couple of days and months later to verify. They said the same thing. I just called in today apperantly talking to the rewards center and they actually sent me an email concerning the rewards. Lets see if I have to call back again concerning this issue. Only this call today did they tell me to submit and process my claim. Pull up the calls for my accounts since its being recorded for quality purposes and clarify to me what happened during those previous calls.

I left Reliant after not being able to get a plan with a fixed rate. They jacked me up pretty bad in the winter to about .15/kWh. When I called TXU I was sold a 12 month plan at .074/kWh. I was told if I didn't use at least 800kwh I would have to pay an additional $9.95 a month. I had recently moved down from RI and thought this was odd. Up there you get your rate and pay. Less you use, less you pay. They actually encourage being "green". Not penalize you for it. Fast forward to today. I receive my TXU bill and I used 200kwh less than I did last month but my bill is $20 more. I called and was told I am "not receiving my $30 credit for using more than 800kwh". I was never told I would be penalized $30 a month. Only $9.95. Out of an $84 bill, $30 of that is from not using enough kWh. This is insane and should be investigated by PUC as predatory. The 3 more months of this contract should be annuled due to breach of contract. I will never recommend TXU to anyone.

I have been with TXU for several years. My house is only 1400sf and the average billing has always been $90-$120. This winter it QUADRUPLED!! When I called they said it was because we've had a hard winter. Ok, it was cold. But it wasn't an ice age. So the winter passed and I paid the quadrupled fees for 3 months. Then i turned all the heating off and NO a/c turned on for 2 months. The bills were the same. I tried talking to customer service but you just get the runaround. There is only one person in this house and most weekends I'm not even here.There is no possible way that much electricity is being used. My neighbor's house is over twice the size of mine and they pay about $40 more than I. I'm tired of being fleeced. Green Mountain here I come!!

I moved out of state and left my family in the apartment, they couldn't pay because the customer service wanted to get my personal information from each one of them. The service got disconnected and when they tried to switch, the company put a hold on the apartment so that means, no other providers can service the place. They are also too expensive, I paid an average of 500 per month for only 3 people who rarely stay home

After moving to Texas 18 months ago, this whole electricity business was very confusing. We were used to an electric company that charged one rate that was reasonable, no averages to confuse people, etc. While trying to learn on the fly about all these companies to choose from and all the different rates, we settled on TXU for a 6 month trial to see how it worked out. Overall, we were ok with the price during the 6 months, but when it came time to renew, TXU's prices suddenly doubled. After calling their customer service, we got no where, that's the price, take it or leave it basically. So we left, found a better energy company, but low and behold, TXU kept coming back to us wanting to renew and they offered all these great rates, but we grow weary of companies that play that game, just offer us your best rate right now, bottom line and TXU failed to do that.

Where to start with TXU? I was told they were good and a great company by a couple of coworkers after thinking my previous company raised my bill months before. I talked with an agent and decided okay. Lets do this. I work all day and have nights to myself so what better than free nights and weekends? How wrong I was! For one person who isnt home from seven in the morning to eight in the evening my first bill came in at 400 dollars! I was outraged and thought there had to be a mistake. They explained cold months can do that. And my heater was the cause as well as my water heater.So I took their words and changed. I cut everything off one hundred percent. To my utter surprise my second bill came out nearly just as high! For ONE person!!!This time my bill was lower for my third month but still catching up on 800 dollars worth of electric bills (by the way they charge you delivery for electric!) I asked for an extension since i do still have other bills to keep up with, and this month only a remaining balance of 200. They told me the 194 that I put onto the account for this month was not good enough to have an extension of four days until I get paid to clear the account completely. You must ask for the extension as you pay or you have to make another payment and this time it was 80 dollars to leave a balance of 120 until then. As I explained I put 194 on my bill already of the near four hundred that they charged me and blamed cold weather. I tell you now stay clear of them. They will rob you blind and dont care if you do have to sit in the cold because if you run your heat during their free hours they manage to slide it onto the time you didnt use it. Find someone else as my last company did not have these hidden fees such as delivery of electric and did not charge me 400 a month when I was using more wattage with them than TXU

I have had nothing but issues with TXU. Started out by them telling me we will run a "soft credit check", and the man helping said it wouldn't show up on my credit report. It did. Then I set my service up and the next day I receive 7 missed calls from TXU saying they are changing my service date to the next day, no big deal I thought. They set my service up but I never received a bill, and I knew I signed up for paperless billing and had received emails the day they set my account up. I began to worry, so one night I just made an account online and my bill said it was due the next day. They had my email wrong. My email is my first and last name at yahoo, and they had my first and last name spelled right on the account but not on the email. So then I had to come up with the money that week, with no prior notice. Then the next month my bill is 3 times my first bill. So I call wonder what is happening and I spoke with a man "Jake" he laughed at my issue, while I was crying. The next man I spoke with was very nice and understanding, but the fact that I had that much of an issue and a grown man was laughing just was plain sad. I will never reccomend anyone to TXU and I will honestly tell them never to choose them as a electric porvider. They offer awful deals, plans, and promotions. On my last bill it said I was paying on average 14.1 cents per kilowatt!!! What?! I just got a new electric provider and I will only be paying 6.8 cents per kilowatt! How the heck can TXU do that?!

I just received a bill for $655 for the few days in January 2018 when the temperature dropped uncharacteristically low. My last bill in December was $249. That's triple what I've been paying. I have a 1500 SF house, not large, but it is brick and well insulated, and I never keep my thermostat above 68-70. The system is new enough that it's still under warranty and in good condition. I've been with TXU for 30+ years and have never received a bill like this. I've never been late on a bill, either. I'm retired and can't afford bills like this. It took me forever to get someone in the continental U.S. that I could understand. People contemplating TXU should rethink it. Everyone I know has lower bills than I do. so I'm going to change carriers as well.

However, during the transition from Sharyland to Oncor they removed it from my account and expect me to pay an outrageous bill. I called them and informed them that it was their error and that they needed to charge me for my average billing cycle only. Customer representative was supposed to call me back. I called and spoke with someone in customer service and she couldn't figure our why my bill went from $100 in nov to $412 in December. She transferred my call to a billing specialist and I couldn't understand him asked if he could transfer me to someone else. He was nice and the next person explained that once I reached a certain tier in my plan it kicked into another higher rate. I was charged three different rates. I'm looking for a new carrier. I have been with them for eleven years.

Moved into Dallas/Ft Worth area recently from area in state that had only one service provider and wasnt aware there were many electric service options. Built a home and transferred service from builder into our name. When I realized I had an option to choose other service providers, I picked one with much more favorable rates and cancelled our TXU service. I received a call the next day from TXU advising they were charging me a substantial cancellation penalty. I tried to appeal the charge and got an individual in the presidents office who was quick to pull out their recordings of me agreeing to their plan with uncompetive rates. The rate I am paying now is substantially less than TXU was charging. Unless they change their rate structure in the future I will never do business with them again and certainly will not recommend them to anyone else.

I bought a house in 2016 and chose a great plan through TXU. Our electricity was relatively affordable, which was great. When it came time to renew, I noticed that the new plan would increase my electricity rates by 46%. That's an absurd increase. I called to cancel my service, and informed the customer service representative of my decision. He then informed me that I could renew my EXACT SAME PLAN at the EXACT SAME RATE, no increase whatsoever. All I had to do was tell him "Yes, I want my original plan". Elated, I said to go ahead, since my rate had been affordable. A month later, I receive my first bill, and they signed me up for the INCREASED RATE, AGAINST MY EXPLICIT REQUEST AND INSTRUCTIONS. Needless to say, I will be calling first thing next week and will be glad to pay the $150 cancellation fee. I would rather pay $150 now than pay $500+ over the course of the year in increased rates. Screw you, TXU. You're a bunch of cheats and liars.

Spent 2hours 15minutes going through 5 with customer service representatives (who in addition to being quite arrogant, also speak in a non-clear english) trying to figure out how I can get daily usage for the month. 3 of representatives admitted having the same problem of not being able to see the data, 4th one first said that he couldn't see it either, then later when he could he said something on the lines of "it is your problem that you can't see it". When I asked him to send it to me via e-mail or regular mail he said that he can't do it. Spent another hour with his supervisor (very polite person) who was quite unprofessional in terms of taking an hour of my time to check their system problems instead of admitting the existence of the problem and finding a solution on their own time. After all the time spent I still don't have the information and only hoping that the "special ticket" he submitted will be resolved in the next 2 business days.
P.S. have the whole call recorded and able to provide it to anyone before they decide to get "services" with the company.

I called to get the issue handled and all's they could or would tell me is that they are 99.8% correct in all of their billing and that because it's been hot this year I had to of used the amount of energy that Oncor reported to them. I have had TXU for at least 25+ years. I came to find that the MarketEdge program was not always easy to comprehend and the bills were difficult to interpret. So after 30+ years of service with TXU, I made the decision to switch service providers. I am now with MidAmerican Energy, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, the company principally the holdings of Warren Buffett. The company is tops in customer service according to the PUC, and the rate is much lower for 1,000 KwH--I am now paying approximately 7.5 cents per KwH.

Lied about the energy charge and refused to return my calls! Was told that any cancellation fees would be "taken care of" in a couple of months, even though the brochure stated other wise! Received a letter confirming my plan rate, it was wrong. I called and rep said they set up the wrong plan and he would "fix it", never heard any more. Called in twice to customer service and ask for the right plan " Is this the number I can reach you at, I will have someone call you. Guess what? Received a bill with the wrong plan.I called and refused to pay it until the rate was corrected! Calls started this week from collections! I called discussed it all again and was told I had to pay the original bill! My response was I would deduct the cancellation fee and pay the remainder. Their response was "We will turn you over to collections." Note: The bill is for 16 days, at which time I returned to my former electric company. Way too much headache for $225.

In June I switched from Reliant to TXU. The person on the line asked what my last bill with Reliant was & I told him & he said let me do some calculations...came back & said they could have saved me $34.00. I listened to his speech, sounded good...switched. While I was talking to the rep, he asked if I wanted a smart thermostat. Said for $10.98 we could get one hooked up. Bill came out with the $10.98 on it... I was on line right before my 2nd bill came out & it was going to be about $50 higher than the last one. Called TXU back & they said they had another program that would be better for me & they switched me. When I got my bill it was still higher than Reliant & it had another 410.98 + tax for the thermostat. I called to find out & they told me that it was a monthly charge. Not the rep or the person who installed the thermostat said there was a monthly charge. Bill was high & now I am paying for a thermostat. (By the way, thermostat when out on Sun with it sitting on 85...remember TX in the summer! I called I thermostat & they tried to reset it. They had me take the face off to reset it...nothing worked. Asked them if they could send someone out since it was really hot in my house. Celeste was her name. She told me that since they could not reset the thermostat it was my unit. I should call a repairman out. I told her this was Sunday, triple rate...were they going to reimburse me. She said maybe but she couldn't say for sure but since it was my unit it would be my problem. About 11 pm, the thermostat started working out of the blue. Finally got it to 76...was not my unit.) I asked Celeste what would happen if we changed providers...would they come get the thermostat & she said no, it was ours at no cost. I asked her to repeat that statement & she said it is like a gift to you. Well, Monday, I changed providers & today I got my bill on line & TXU is charging me $150 cancellation fee for thermostat. I am contacting Public Utility in morning. TXU energy prices is like getting robbed. Not only do they charge you ridiculous amount but their Oncor delivery charge is off the roof! I had Green Mountain energy for 3400 square foot home and I downsized my house being an empty nester to a 1400 square foot home. I would've thought my electric would lower. Not with TXU! With Green Mountain, I used 2000KWH/month in the 3400sq ft home and TXU meter said I use almost 3000KWH/month! At 12.7cents per KWH plus the Oncor delivery charge that amounted to $350.00!!! I will NEVER AGAIN use TXU and I would strongly suggest everyone stay away from them! Save your money and find another provider. I tried to see my last bill, but the moment I discontinued their service, I couldn't log in to see my last bill. One way for TXU to hide their shady business practice. I'm not sure if Reliant would be any better????

I have solar panels that are capable of sending clean power back into the grid. Last year I had a plan with TXU where I received credit for my renewable power production and the plan had an eleven month term. When I went to renew, my plan was no longer available to me and their very rude department supervisor which handles renewable energy customers indicated I my rates would double if I wanted to remain their customers basically said take it or leave it. After I switched providers TXU sent me a letter stating I owed them a final balance. When I called their customer service number to verify the amount, my call went to South America where I was unable to understand the reps very broken English. So much for competitive clean energy plans and keeping their jobs in the United States. If you are shopping energy plans,,,look elsewhere than TXU, that is, unless you want a not-so-good screwing!

TXU energy are dishonest scammers. Signed up for home warranty and didnt read the fine print. Called about the A/C. Water from emergency drain pan draining outside. Call warranty number, they give me an a/c company to call and I make an appointment. Two days later, a/c guy shows up. No tools, no guages, just a pad and pen. Makes a five minute inspection and says the unit is dirty from poor maintenance. He writes this on a quote. I call him out saying it was a lie. I just had cleaned the coils, inside and out, the previous month. He says, thats what they tell me to say. He takes his sixty bucks and leaves. 24 hours later... claim denied. Fine print in warranty contract says corrosion and poor maintenance not covered by warranty. Basically, we enjoyed taking you monthly premium. Contact TXU and tell them warranty is a scam and I would like my money back... all of it. They say no, anything else I can help you with? I believed TXU to be a reputable company and wouldn't sell a scam, but they did. I was foolish to believe they could be trusted. I know most all warranty deals are scams but I trusted them anyway. Don't do what I did. Steer clear of TXU.

I had to call. Customer service 3 times just to finally get someone who spoke some semblance of English that I barely understood. Come to find out they were in Guatemala - could care less where they are - but I only speak/understand ENGLISH!! How utterly STUPID that TXU would farm out their Cust. I was promised a $150.00 gift card for switching to TXU then another $150 gift card at the end of my contract. Well, they have hidden terms and since the representative offered me a different contract to save me money, she never told me that would not be eligible for the rebate any longer, with the new contract. I was on the phone for over an hour and everyone there kept telling me that they listened to the call and that the representative never mentioned the rebate. After talking to several supervisors one of them said he listened to the call and he did hear that I was owed a the $300 but since I chose the cheaper contract I was not eligible. I was never told that if I went with a cheaper contract I wouldn't get the rebate. I will be cancelling my contract today and switching with a more honest company!!! This is the way that they get people to switch is promising them things and not telling them the hidden terms! BEWARE!!!

I was a customer when it was TU electric. I had never had any reason to change when Cirro had a rep going door to door. Who doesn't want to save money. Well it has been a nightmare that a courtesy call from TXU bailed me out of. We got one of my two meters changed but couldn't get my barn meter changed. TXU called to see what they could do to get my business back. They reduced the rate Cirro gave by 2.4 cents per kWh gave me a $50 gift card and it only took 10 minutes. Thankfully they have ended a nightmare for me. I will remain a loyal customer. When you want to shop rates. Check the out but call your carrier first. They most likely will match or beat the rate. Saves a lot of hassles.

I had service with you my bill I received on my phone was $49.50. I called to make arrangement because of an emergency but they to me they couldn't. I've had a pretty bad experience with TXU in the past year. I have a 2 Bedroom 1300 Square ft. Apartment and my bill is always at least $210. I'm a strategic college student, so I thought choosing TXU's free nights would be a great choice. It was not. We are basically being double charged in the day to make up for the "free nights". I then changed my plan, which was supposed to at least save me $100, but is costing me $225; although the TXU App is extremely convenient in checking our usage. Overall, I've had a horrible experience and I will be leaving TXU and searching for a more affordable and honest company.

Customer for decades. Switched from incandescent bulbs to CFL when they first came out. Lowered my bill by a hundred dollars. In this century switched to LEDS raised my bill by $ 150.00 monthly. Quessed meter charges. Made me buy a new $ 90.00 remote meter. Then a years later replaced it with a new remote reader that reads high in there favor. Blamed me even I had Electricians over here to check my euipment. Variable percent charges not converted to real numbers. Additional charges from ONCOR for delivery and line repair monthly.... Failure to properly switch electric discount plans as promised in writing online. Adding 3 percent charges to electric bill to give you a debit card to spend after a year. Looking for a new electric provider.

After being asked my account # and details by three different people transferring me, it became a bit frustrating. I simply wanted to know if the account for the house I sold was payed and closed, while my service was transfered to my new home. One gentlemen told me I had cancelation fees. Another gentlemen said I didn't because I transferred. It quickly became confusing and monotonous as my last transfer was a young man. I told him it was a bit reputicious to transfer and continuously ask the same account info and security questions while never answering my simple question. He just hung up on me. I had to call back and get a manager to answer my question. She was kind and helpful, but during the entire conversation, it sounded like a party in the background with coworkers joking and laughing in the background about daily affairs. I didn't say anything because they may hang up agian. I'm going to start shopping for a new provider.

I just recently cancelled services with TXU, as I was relocating to Fort Benning, GA. After terminating my service, I was issued a final bill for 8 days not covered by the previous billing cycle. TXU claims that I used 1604 kWh in an 8 day period. I have an 8.75kW PV solar panel system. I have never used 1604 kWh of energy in any 30-day cycle since their installation. What is worse is that their website (TXU's own site, not a 3rd party host) states I only used 711 kWh during that 8-day period. While still excessive for what is typical, this more than doubled the bill. I lodged a complaint with TXU who returned a finding that the reading was verified based on historical trends of energy usage at my residence. This logic is absurd as I have never had an electric bill or energy usage like that in the 2 years since my solar panels were installed. This is blatant fraud in an attempt to rob me as I am leaving the state.

If you can find any other electrical provider other than TXU, I highly recommend you go through them. This is unfortunately not the first time I have had issues with this provider but will be the last, I thought I would give them second chance but never again. I will waste money on solar panels and candles before these people again. I contacted TXU to install a brand new I thermostat because the one installed went out. I called to set up the appointment which was scheduled 3 weeks later due to the holiday season. I informed them we had been out of heat and we had a toddler at home and they said they were sorry but they were booked...okay fine...set up the appointment, technician came out, literally spent 2 minutes looking at the thermostat and stated its your heating coil and left....we then had to contact our home warranty to come out and check out the heating coil...cost us 65 dollars to guess what replace a damn thermostat that TXU was responsible for replacing for FREE (because we wanted their thermostat). Since we had already been without heat for 2 months we simply had no choice but to pay the 65 fee to replace the thermostat, because I was not going to wait another 3 weeks for another incompetent technician to come out. In that 2 months of waiting for TXU we had to spend 95 plus in firewood, and an additional 200 in electrical fees to utilize the space heaters to help out just to keep the house a decent temperature. Now we are out of 295 from electrical increases and 65 from a service fee that shouldnt have cost us anything because you sent out the most incompetent technician you probably have.

My bill has been a low $170 all summer and I got a bill in January for $243???? I spoke with customer service and ask why was the bill so high. I am on free nights. I was told that I was charged an additional fee because they sent a disconnect notice?? This is a joke! I can understand charging for an actual disconnect, even though, all they have to do is hit one key on their computer terminal to reconnect but why charge for sending me a notice? And why change $50-$60 ??

I originally came to this website to read reviews about potential companies, because I was looking to lower my bill. I was really shocked with all the negative reviews because I've had an overall good experience with TXU. I've been with the company for over 5 years and I'm only looking to switch, because my bill seems to have increased quite a bit over the years. I noticed that before I was paying a much lower price whereas now my bill stays over 100+ a month even when I'm not using it as much. I think it's just one of those situation where I may need to switch, since most companies give new customers the better rate to win their business, but then forget to reward their loyal customers with those rates to keep their business. However, rate increases and all, TXU has been great and I really hate that I have to switch just to get a lower rate since I'll be a new customer, when I would rather just stay with TXU and be a loyal customer. I would definitely recommend TXU to someone!

I would like to voice my opinion on the way that TXU treats it's customers. My 80 year old mother has a outstanding bill of 1801.62, she has mild dementia and they have taken advantage of her by setting up installment plans that she has no idea she has done and then doesn't remember to make the payments. They have added a 400.00 deposit to the account and now they are going to turn her electricity off for non-payment. I spoke with customer service and was told that if 801.00 was not paid in 24 hours her electricity would be shut off. Can you tell me how this is?????? How a woman on limited social security is suppose to pay 801.00 in 24 hours??? As soon as this is taken care of I GUARANTEE YOU TXU WILL BE HISTORY. I will make sure that I tell everyone about how uncaring this company is and how they take advantage of the elderly. Leave them with a bill that is outrageous and then offer no help to them.

The most horrible electric company I've ever used! They charged me extra fees that I had no idea about, and when I called txu after seeing my account go negative $50.00 noone could accurately give me a answer. Finally after two days on the phone and hours later they finally were able to give me a " ridiculous answer." The reason my account got charged $43.00 for ONE DAY of electricity was because they sent someone to view the meter at my apt and they claimed that I was getting charged less then what I should have been for the month. Then they disconnected my electricity saying I owed 40.00 and then on top of that I had to pay a reconnection fee for 25.00. It is absolutely ridiculous and I am in the process of switching light companies. I still don't understand how they can try and charge me 40.00 for one day a worth of electricity! I wouldn't recommend anyone to use TXU unless you wanna get screwed on your bill!

I am appalled by the method that TXU practices to gain additional monies. I truly feel that TXU behaves quite similar to unethical collection companies. They do not abide by Fair Credit Reporting. They do not keep accurate data. They will place you on hold and avoid answering questions before honestly admitting their wrongs.My account with TXU is a Paid In Full account...However they have re-aged the debt as a loan. Yes...TXU refused to remove this derogatory account from my all bureaus despite six years of incorrect reporting, however corrections noted on Experian are extremely defamatory. TXU did not keep good documentation of the account. Instead of reviewing the above noted and removing it, they continually play trial and error with reporting.According to the Experian report that I pulled as of 06/11/2016, TXU has moved the account to the Installment category, with a term of 1 month. The report now inaccurately states that this account was reported since June of 2016. My electric bills were never a fixed amount. This account was not a loan. $300 dollars worth of payments were never reported to the bureaus.Additionally, the Account History notes the account as a "Charge off" as of June 2016 and the payoff amount has been inflated.At this point, I am assured that their intent is defamatory. I paid the remaining balance that was due to a cancellation fee ($200) post paying a (250 deposit) when I chose to seek another company that would work with me. TXU adamantly refused to offer assistance with high energy bills,due to faulty air conditioning unit (with an ongoing Better Business Bureau Investigation) in the apartments I lived. I explained the situation to managers and offered the notices.Future energy customers. Beware! TXU practices are not aligned with Fair Credit Reporting. They practice highly unsavory methods to attain additional monies and lock you in a situation in which they are your only choice, due to horrific credit.

I was with txu for 2 years. I moved to a new house and told them I would like to continue using them. I paid $170 deposit and told them my address is the same as my landlord who lives right behind me but make sure you put an A at the end of the address. Anyway my power was cut off two weeks after I called them so I call back and was told that they switched over my landlords electricity instead of mine cause they did not put the A at the end of my address and that they could turn on in the morning but since I'm in a new location ( landlords house and mine are in same yard) that I would owe another $150 deposit. Argued and argued with this women till I decided to just cancel my service and give my deposit back which she was very reluctant to do. Back up to when I first called them to turn power on at my new house I told them to make sure and cut off my power at my old house at the end of the month. Well just got a call yesterday from txu saying I owe $188 for my bill at old house. To sum it up they didn't cut my power off and trying to charge me 18 days worth of electricity. I hate txu!!!

This should be shouted out stay away from TXU. Im a looong customer and decided to check rates. I found I was paying 12.5 average for khr. So i get this flyer and give them a chance to compete which they cant match...thats ok! So I sign up with the other company and the day of change I get a call from txu trying to keep my business and I thought this is a great company and they matched the offer. I get my first bill and guess what instead of the 7.9 per khr its 10.5 and the supervisors all said tough sh*t. So I asked about that recording that we say yes to when signing up because I repeated what the other company offer was. Turns out folks the recording doesn't exist. Its all BS. I was looking for a new electric company because my contract with another company was about to be up. a representative gave me very incorrect information so i signed up. i continued to seek information about what i had been told and within a few hours called to cancel. the representative originally told me I needed to wait to get papers in the mail and then I could cancel if I wanted to but when I called back to cancel within a few hours I found out that they would have already switched me so it would have been too late. I was on with customer service for 45 minutes trying to get a cancellation number and he wanted to know where to send my final bill. I told him there should be no final bill since I had only started the contract 3 hours prior and I had 3 days to cancel and I was canceling within 3 hours. Finally after a lot of back and forth with the agent he did give me a cancelation number because I insisted on having one. I will call them again on Monday just to be sure it is done.

I was with Reliant for almost 5 years and had grown tired of having crazy bills. I was being charged an outrageous amount in Delivery charges and my bills would often be 300-400 a month. So one night a TXU salesman stops by, takes a look at my Reliant bills and tells me that TXU is now servicing my area because they heard that Reliant was screwing people with the Delivery fees. He promises that TXU will be a flat rate and there will be no Delivery charges on my bill. I find out I will not have to be charged a deposit and decided to enter into a contract, to be charged the same, if not more in fees and Delivery charges. When I called the customer service department to find out why this is on my bill I was told that I was going to be charged the delivery charges no matter what. I informed the rep that I was told by the salesman that I would not have these fees to change over and she said that I was not the first person to tell her that and she didn't know why they were lying to new customers. I think these salesmen are trained to do this, they wouldn't promise people that there will be no delivery charges without being told to do so. As soon as my contract is up I am going to find an honest company to transfer to. This company lies to get customers and my bill is still outrageous.

I have had TXU for way longer than I should have already. Didnt have many problems when in my apartment my bill has skyrocketed and continues to be out of control. TXU's moving service and associates there really messed up our account and they've done very little about it Long story short, we purchased a new home and wanted to move our service over. Our initial move in date got pushed back, so I called TXU to cancel my oder to shut off service. "Sure, no problem," the rep said. "I've submitted your request, so you don't have to worry about losing power. We will no longer shut it off that day. Your new cutoff date has been submitted." Like a fool, I believed him, until my power went out on the day I requested it not to....It wouldn't have been as big of a deal to us if I hadn't just gone grocery shopping. I called and the rep I spoke to said she was sorry, and she knew it was a mistake on TXU's part, but that no one was available to come and turn our power back on. We argued with them for 2 hours before we gave up and spent the night without power. It was 12 hours before our power came back on, so when I went to check the fridge, nothing was cold anymore. The food in the deep freezer survived at least. At this time, I'm still in negotiations with their claims department, trying to get reimbursed for perished food items. Wish me luck. I could have made my own luck though, had I switched over from this company a long time ago. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone I know, not even the ones that annoy me.

I've had TXU for years...at 3 different addresses (were renting) and our bills were always within the same margins $140-$180. It wasn't until we moved into our new house that I had any problems with them. We've only been there for two months, and the first bill was $248. I thought, okay, it's a bigger house and it's been cold so we've been running the heater. But then I received our second bill and it was over $400! And $119 of it was the AEP delivery charge! I looked back in our previous one and the AEP charge was $98. I switched companies right away to one that happens to have a steady monthly charge of just $9.98 per month for delivery charges.

I love Txu I do not see how people say they have a monthly bill of 200 in an apartment. My bill never goes over 70 and I stay with heat or electricity on. I don't really understand the TDU charge seems high but overall I'm happy with my bill. When I called in to renew my plan I did have a little trouble (language barrier) I could not understand everything he was saying and he couldn't understand some words I was saying but we got through it.... If I could change something about TXU it would definitely be to lower what ever that TDU charge is and if you forget to renew before deline they throw you on the most expensive plan.... I recently received a letter from TXU stating they are going to charge me an additional 280.00 deposit. Yes I was laid off due to slowing economy and had to find another job. Times are tough and yes I was late a few times but always managed to pay my bill. Now it is December 22 and just received a letter from TXU stating they are adding an additional 280.00 on to my next bill for a deposit. So its already tough enough to keep bills paid but Merry Christmas TXU I will pay the deposit while there is no Christmas dinner or gifts for my children or grandchildren to open.

I am a single mother who has to get help on my monthly bill already (LITE UP TEXAS) and after I get help to lower my bill they jack the rate right back up to where it's as if I didn't get the help at all, TDU delivery charges my a$$....no other company here does that. I was looking at my moms bill from a different provider and she only pays for what she uses. When I call I get some guy who can't speak English being extremely rude! I haven't been happy with them since my first bill. Once I find a provider that serves in my area I will definitely be leaving TXU and they can shove their FEES where the sun don't shine! They will not receive a penny from me!! TXU- don't bother replying some robotic response, even on here your lack of remorse is disgusting. If you want to help CHANGE SOMETHING... I was set up on their Average Monthly Billing program for around two years and recently moved to a new house. After I switched my service to my new address and my first bill was $450! When I called their customer service line, the rep kept me on hold for half of the 20 minute call because she could not figure out why this had happened and had to get her supervisor to help her. Turns out they cancelled my average billing when I moved. She could not tell me how or why it was removed, just that it was an error and there was nothing they can do about it but re-enroll me and for me to pay the $450 of have my electricity turned off. My average bills were $100-150 before this so there was no way I could afford all of this. The only thing they could offer me was an installment plan. I had to make the first payment of $113 THAT DAY (even though my bill was not due for two more weeks) and then have $70 tacked on to 5 more bills-in addition to whatever they charge me monthly-which she could also not tell me the average I would pay even though I was on AVERAGE MONTHLY BILLING. I have been a customer for several years, and have always paid my bills on time and for them to screw up and not even take responsibility for their mistake is ridiculous. The rep was lost the entire time and kept putting me on hold to ask someone else what to do and say. I will NEVER use this company or suggest them to anyone and will cancel my service when my contract expires in February.

After 32 years of being a customer, I am finally looking at other companies. For the past 14 months, I have set up a scheduled payment between the 10th and 15th of each month. I have also been not even 30 days past due on any of the bills I received. So when I pay, I am paying the bill that was due in the previous month and I have never gotten my service turned off. Even with a disconnection notice, I schedule the payment, and the service continues. Until this last bill. I scheduled the payment online for the 11th. TXU decided all of the sudden that instead of sending the disconnection notice out between the 8th and 10th of the month, which is how it had always been for the past, they decided to send them out a week earlier. After asking their reason, and being placed on hold, I was told that because you have been late for the past year, they decided to shorten the date for this month. Regardless of the fact that I have been consistent in making my payments, following their policy when I needed some sort of service from them, defended their service when everyone I know has slammed them, and that I have been a TXU customer since 1983, they decided that I was a risk and that they might not get their payment. As you can see from the responses to the other reviews, which are all scripted, and in light of this situation, TXU has finally convinced me that they do not care about being a good, paying customer. They only care about getting their money when they want it. So long TXU. After 32 years of marriage, I think it is time we start seeing other people.

TXU uses scare tactics like early termination fees to intimidate customers into staying with them. The customer service is nonexistent and the rates are extortion. Customers need to wake up and put an end to being locked into these ridiculous contracts and choosing between high energy bills or providing essentials for their family. Is it possible to give TXU a rating of -100? They are insisting that they disconnected my power which they did NOT. When I try to go online to pay my bill, they won't let me pay unless I check a box agreeing to pay a reconnection fee on my next bill. They don't even list an amount that I will be charged!!! I am just supposed to blindly accept whatever they want to charge me. If I don't agree then I can't pay my bill online and will be assessed late fees! Who do they think they are? The mafia!

I don't know what is going on with TXU and their service and their bills, but their rates have changed and their billing cycles have changed. Before my bill used to be due on the SAME day every month and now my bill is due on a different day every month. Sometimes it is due on the 5th or the 8th or the 10th etc. My bill should be due on the SAME date every month! My bill this month was 211.00 dollars and my AC has NOT been in over a week. The did the meter read on the 18th and turned around three days later on the 21st and emailed me saying I had already reached my 100.00 threshold budget and had my anticipated bill for next month as 166.00?! You're telling me that in three days I used up 100.00 in energy without having my AC on?! My contract expires with you all next month on the 19th I do believe and do NOT have plans to renew with you all yet I'm being told I'm going to get charged a 150.00 to 300.00 early disconnection fee for NOT renewing my contract? How are you going to charge me AFTER the contract expires?! That's not an early termination fee, that's a rip off! Your website took down the chat option and has now removed the chat option from its Facebook page as well. I refuse to speak on the phone to your customer service reps because even though you claim to record and monitor calls when we as customers ask for the calls to be played back, you all refuse to look into them for verification. I want my meter reread and want you all to explain to me why my bill is due on a different day every month and why Oncor is charging me 65.00 for delivery charges? Am I on the best plan for the amount of energy we use? I have NEVER had a bill this high in the month of October! Last year at this time my bill was around 140.00, which was acceptable and this is NOT considering I'm on the same plan! I'm thinking of going with Green Mountain Energy or some other company that has better customer service ratings.

Did TXU ever solve an issue or just give excuses like I have been getting from the three different customer service supervisors I've talked to the past three days. I moved to a new city and was told there would not be an early cancelation fee, now there is a $150.00 early cancelation fee on my final bill. They refuse to remove it. they gave me excuses that contradicted each other and was told by the last Rep that even if I faxed them a copy of the contract the new tenant made at my old residence, they would not remove the fee because they made their decision and can't prove that I'm not lying to them.

Took TXU to get sales tax exempt status for our main ESID over 5 months to get corrected. Then once corrected, under-usage charges show up on our corrected bill. We were told that this would not happen and our Sales Representative cannot get in contact with Management as has changed. We had TXU in the past and have never had a problem. My husband deployed so I moved back in with my parents so we cancelled our plan, no problem. Since we had no issues in the past, when my husband returned, we decided to go with TXU again. We had no problems with the first bill and paid roughly what I was quoted. Now the second bill is due, it states we owe almost $300. That is almost triple what we were quoted and the first bill. There is no way between my husband who works during the day and myself use that much energy in a month. When I called about the situation, Leon was not willing to help, solve the issue or even answer my questions. Matter of fact, I still never got the answer to a question that I asked three times. I asked to speak to his supervisor but told me they all left at 10pm. TXU is a pretty big company who should have management there during all hours. I feel that Leon lied to me several times and was not willing to help. He told me this months bill was from the middle of August to beginning of October. I made a payment in September so I am not sure how it could include August. Then he tried to tell me that he told me what date the meter was read (when he never did in the first place) but couldn't remember the date. He obviously has no idea what he is talking about and his information was all over the place. I asked about different rate plans that we could be switched to or how to get out of our contract and he could not answer the questions or he did not want to transfer me so my questions could be answered. If you are in customer service shouldn't you know most of the information (or important information about the company you work for) or try to find out the information for the customer? He was not willing to work with me at all and told me to call back later. I am very disgusted with the customer service I received from Leon and TXU. I requested to have another meter reading because I do not think this is right and again was told to call back later and that he could not do the request. They obviously do not care about their customers or how they treat them. I am very disappointed with the company all together.

Absolutely the worst service I've ever experienced in my life. Will NEVER recommend them for anyone to go through and will NEVER use them again. We moved to a different state, so we had to end our service with them. When we received our final bill, they charged us over $200 in "miscellaneous" charges on top of our $203 electric bill that wasn't even due yet. Not any cancellation fees. "Miscellaneous" charges. And when we asked them to break down the miscellaneouscharges for us for why they would charge so much extra, they were not straight forward at all. We still don't have answers on why our bill is $443. It's never been that high! If you want to save your time and the hassle of dealing with bullcrap like this, DO NOT go through TXU Energy. I've been a TXU customer for some time about a yr and I have to say this little SCAM they're trying to pull on me is the worst I've ever seen. For my payment of August which should be due at the start of September was paid. It was a total of $130; yet somehow I'm getting charged $115 for September when it's been a week after my last payment. When I called their customer "service" call center not only did we have to put up with the rudest but in my opinion the dumbest people I've EVER had the displeasure of knowing. I tried explaing that how was it possible that they're charging us for a billing period that is yet to be over? To which they replied it's your August bill. How? We didn't have any late fees we'd always paid our bills on time. Not just that but somehow we had already accrued for OCTOBER! To make matters worse we asked to speak to a supervisor we got a person that couldn't add 1+1. TXU is trying to charge me, according the supervisor, twice for August, and according to the represenative early for September. So which is it? Charging me for electricity I haven't used or charging me twice for August?The only answer is this company is a fricken SCAM can't wait for my contract to be over and going back to CPL.

I am new to Texas and utilized TXU because it was previously used by the renting agent. I signed up for a guaranteed rate of 13 cent per KWH along with "free" electricity between 7-10 in the mornings and evenings. You can imagine my surprise when I received a bill for $328 for my 1400 sq ft house. Given that I utilized the "free" hours to run anything major and kept my A/C at 76 and, I called in to speak with a representative to review my bill. Disaster soon set in once I tried having the representative do the math along with me to prove I had essentially been double charged. I was then put on the phone with a supervisor who had no time to speak to me and simply told me I was not being charged 13 cent per KWH, but 18 cents and the bill was correct and to have a nice day. After being hung up on, I then called in again to speak with a sales specialist to confirm I was supposed to be charged 13 cent per KWH. Once the representative did confirm I was supposed to be receiving that rate and I explained the situation, it became nothing but a runaround. I opted for my 60 day out clause and found a new provider.

We went with TXU due to the fact that One of my friends told us they had some decent rates. After being with them for about 6 months I am ready to cancel my contract with them, and call the utilities commissioner. I've had nothing but problems and high bills every month. and then while I'm out of work for my pregnant wife and I've tried to settle the bill and work so I can pay my other bills until I go back to work, I get told no, and then in the middle of my contract you guys want to charge me a deposit, because you guys want to claim that you've sent 2 disconnect notices, which only one was sent. You guys aren't cheap and your service sucks. I will be canceling my contract and I'll be damned if i send you a deposit.I've done my best and I paid my balances all up and current, but this company has no moral ethic nor do they want to be a part of the community. They are a MONEY SUCKING machine. Nothing more, nothing less.They wanted 670 dollars this month, after I paid them 507 last month. More than my car payments. I will be paying the ETF and going back to Green Mountain.

The problems started in my first year of use. I signed up for the automatic debit plan, because the rates were better. Imagine my surprise when TXU billed me twice in the same month! I called to complain because it caused an overdraft of my account, and was told that they said in the contract that the money could be withdrawn from my account up to 5 days before the due date. I then asked why they didn't set the due dates consistently so customers would never get charged twice in a month, to which they had no answer, they just continued to belittle me for not having sufficient funds to pay an electric bill twice in one month (I must say, I make far above the average salary in my area, I certainly had the funds to pay for next months bill... it's just that the funds had been transferred to my savings account because I did not expect to need to pay a second electric bill that month, I guess that they move around the due dates for bills to get late fees from loyal customers -- why else make a bill due on the 6th and the 30th of the same month?). So I removed myself from the automatic debit plan and went with a plan where I could pay as the bill arrived. My bill nearly doubled as soon as I switched from the automatic debit plan! I was so irate! But staying was easier than researching a new electric company at the time, so I stayed and figured I would change when I move to a new rental. It helped that my bill was always due between the 1st and the 7th of the month, I could at least keep from getting late fees by paying the bill when my first check of the month came through.After finding a new rental I called TXU in early August of 2015 to discontinue my electric service on the 17th. Apparently they don't take kindly to you quitting their service, because I got a bill going through the 27th. When I called to speak to customer service agent they told me there was nothing that could be done, that someone must have entered the 27th instead of the 17th, so I asked to speak with a supervisor. When I got transferred to a supervisor I got told that there was no record of my call to disconnect service and I owed the whole bill. Then, just to put the icing on the cake, I noticed my due dates for my bills (despite this not being a problem since July of 2013), was August 3rd and August 31st. So, yes, they have no record of me calling to cancel my service, but for the first time since July of 2013 they bill me at the end of the month instead of the between the 1st and the 7th? Plus they then get me for an extra 10 days of electric (who knows what I was paying for? the landlord remodeling?). I tried to ask the supervisor why I would be billed on such an odd date if I had not cancelled my service and he would just say it was the regular billing date. I tried to ask that if my service was disconnected by another individual hooking up a different electric company (which was the excuse I got as to why the bill ran through the 27th) why TXU would not contact me to tell me my service had been disconnected (you know, because maybe I wouldn't know that was going on? what if I still lived there?), to which I was told my only contact would be a final bill. I tried to ask for the supervisor's manager and got told that there was no one else to speak to, despite numerous attempts. You can't tell me there is no one else higher than you, unless you are the CEO, and I highly doubt the guy right under CEO is call center supervisor.I guess when you have already made it clear that you are going with another provider they have no problem being rude to you or trying to get you for extra money. Note: my internet provider I did not call to disconnect until a few days after we moved out. I expected to pay in full for before I called, but they pro-rated me the 3-5 days I was not living at my old residence! I can't even use their service at my new location as I moved out of their service area, yet they were still nice enough to not charge me for while I was not living at my old house. I didn't even need to ask for a supervisor! So, I highly doubt there was "nothing" that could be done about my extra $50 charge for the 10 days I wasn't living at my former residence, TXU just didn't want to do anything for a former customer that was switching providers due to their lousy customer service.

Just switched because of my bill going up more than double! Just got off the phone with one of the "customer service" guys who wondered why we switched.Then blamed me for it happening. We called them when the bill spiked the first time and they told us nothing about a contract expiring...in fact told us nothing had changed that the service had to make up for an overage that month. It bought them another two months of gouging me. I was told that they can't notify people when the contract expires......I wonder if they would notify me if I had left the contract a month early. Hey TXU ! it is alot cheaper to keep a current customer happy than it is to attract a new customer.It's no wonder why you are bleeding customers and money. Do yourself a favor and research the deals that are available and you will find that TXU is way overpriced. TXU will talk about different rates at different times of the day and act like they are working to save you money but this isn't the case at all. Call Champion energy and get the best rate and best customer service (yes - you actually talk to a person). In three consecutive months my bill went up 20%+ until it reached $250 (for a 1400sqft house). So I called to get a better rate and got no where. So I canceled my account and went to Champion and TXU charged me a $300 cancelation fee!! (At least they did let me know that my account was subject to the cancelation fee but refused to wave it or match the rate I was quoted by a competitor). Unreal!! I'll angrily pay the fee as long as TXU gets no more of my money and/or any of my friends' money. Be smart.

I've had it. After 21 years of mis service it finally dawned on me that I'm being gouged. Raised the thermostat to 78/79 during the day and 74 at night and, yet, this month's bill was 29% higher than last year to nearly $300!!!!!!!!! I'm moving to Champion where they're rated top notch and TXU is rated so low here on this site. In addition, I learned they're having financial problems and it's no wonder why. They've been gouging folks for decades and when de-regulation hit them they didn't learn their lesson and it's catching up to them. I say get out before you get a letter saying they're going out of business.

I would never recommend this company to anyone. Not only did they not call after a 18 month plan was expired and switched me to a month to month charging almost double per kilowatt, I called to ask about a new plan ( figuring I was at fault for not realizing my year and a half plan had expired and I must have missed the phone call and email ) the young lady told me there BEST plan was 13.9 cents per KWH. I explained that I was fairly certain they had plans at little less expensive, and asked three times for there best plan for a small family using an average of 1400kwh per month. Then she kept repeating to me that the free nights and weekends would be the best plan. I again told her that that plan was not good for the times my family is using our electricity and asked one last time for their best plan. Finally with a 13.2 kWh I was frustrated and said thank you very much and said I would be canceling service. When I did find another company who on my behalf called and cancelled my service, then the harassing phone calls started all day asking why I was leaving, I explained It twice to two different agents, after the 4th call I had had enough. Finally when the last bill came in, here came the miscellaneous charges which were only $6 less the the actual usage charges for only 23 days of service totaling $425. $425 for 23 days!!! I'm willing to pay for what I actually used and the cost to disconnect the crappy service, but I'll be filing a complaint with the public utility commission of Texas unless we can resolve this issue.

Firstly ready the replies from TXU is hilarious , that person repeats the same thing over and over and doesn't have a clue, waiting to see the response for this comment. So i have been calling TXU for the past 2 weeks, trying to get a best plan for me, they cant even explain how the costing works properly, every time i call i get a different response. I used to be a TXU customer 2012 and prior but never really checked my bill, that FREE NIGHT PLAN is a scam now coming to think about it, i just recalculated the kwh i used on my previous bills and it was about .15 cents per kw EXCLUDING the TVU charges which made it over 18 cents per kw, WOW!!! definately not going to sign up with them again because of their DISHONESTY!!!!

I have been a TXU customer for really as long as I can remember - at least since 2011. We recently moved to another house so it seemed the easiest thing to do would be to take our TXU service with us. Wrong! You see, they discussed with us all of their great money saving plans they seem to be so proud of, but then neglected to put us on a plan at all. Instead, for the last 3 months we have been on month to month service paying something like 15 cents per kwh. Its just good to know that a company would show such concern and all around good customer service to long-time customers. (That was total sarcasm.) I am currently shopping other providers because if they can basically go out of their way to screw long-time customers, I'm pretty sure I don't want to be their customer at all from now on.

I was on vacation for about 5 weeks this summer (june 5th-july14th)...traveling with my fiance while the kids were out of school. I returned home on 2 different occasions for no more than 3 days to check on the house. During this time I kept 2 porch lights on and had the a/c turned off (besides the 3 days I had been home). I received my bill for that month and it is $178! How is it that the month I was gone my bill was higher than any of the other months I had been home??? I will not recommend txu and I definitely will not use them again. Talking with other friends...they have had similar issues. If you use them monitor your meter!!

I attempted to sign up with TXU using their website, and had made a plan choice, entered all sorts of information, and such. When I finally got to the page to enter personal contact information, the page looped back to the start of the process. I assumed the order had failed and decided another company deserved my business more, so I signed on to OurEnergy with no problems.On the day of plan switchover I discovered that TXU had actually received my order, and bumped out OurEnergy. This is a big problem - customer contact information should be the very first part of an order process so that TXU can send notification of the order status to either email or phone.Furthermore, compared to GEXA and OurEnergy, their customer service wait times are stratospheric.I estimate I wasted 2 hours of effort on these knuckleheads.

Oncor/TXU estimating my kwh usage right after my smart meter display goes blank yesterday morning. Now I will be stuck with me getting pegged for possibly 150+ each day for the next 3 freaking days, until oncor replaces that meter!!!! Meaning Im potentially using 150+ kwh per day when I know I DID NOT. I always keep track of my electricity usage. There is no freaking way I couldve used 150 kwh yesterday when I know I had turned the AC off for hours at a time and instead used my fans to cool off. I explicitly asked the customer service rep if the meter had the blank display will it still give an accurate reading. I was told yes. that was an outright lie! Im really pissed off right now.

After 6 years I finally noticed the late fees being charged (my mistake) and I was being charged late fees for electronic transfers from my bank to TXU. After spending a lot of time on the phone with customer service I was told I must pay using one of their methods. I pay 6 companies using electronic transfers and TXU is the only one that has a problem with this method--just in the last 11 months I found out they had charged me $127.00 late fees. In all fairness $47 was valid. I will be changing to another company ASAP.

You'll save yourself money if you read this. It's kind of sad to see that everyone on this site thinks one electric provider is "different" from the rest. I'm not here to rate a company but rather let you in on a little know-how. After all, I used to work for an electric company so I know how the game is played. Forget the "reputation" of a company's customer service. That's the way a dumb consumer thinks. (Well-established electric companies LOVE these customers. I repeat, they LOVE them.)Rather than follow the masses you should realize all electric companies are the same. The only thing that's different is the price which they offer you. So the smart consumer knows how to shop. The old saying is true, competition gets you low prices. The smart consumer goes to www.powertochoose.org. There you can shop for the lowest prices in your ZIP code. The key to getting a good plan is that it fits your usage. That means that you can get a plan that looks great, lets say an average price of 6 cents/kwh @ 1000 kwh. But if you aren't careful, you'll be pretty pissed when it turns out you use an average of 2000 kwh and end up paying 10 c/kwh. The easiest way to check your usage history is to ask your current provider. You think that your Electricity provider is robbing you? Switch. Do you believe that they must have read the meter wrong? Trust me, they didn't. But switch anyways because you are probably paying too much. Accept the fact that providing electricity is a BUSINESS and their main goal is to charge you as much as possible, period. This means it is YOUR responsibility to make sure you are not overpaying. Just as you would buy a car, or a house, the responsibility of getting a fair price rests squarely on your shoulders. Don't go blogging on the internet about how much you got screwed over instead of actually doing something about it. You're better than that.tl;dr Get the best deal at www.powertochoose.org

We signed up with txu when we moved into our new house. We were told free nights was our best bet. What a joke. Our bills were insanely high. I started heat/ac down during the day and tried to only run it during free times. Along with dishes and laundry and baths...anything that uses the water heater. Didn't make any difference in our bills. So we switched to reliant. Our bills are $200 each month!!! A third the amount of txu! And I have just been setting the heat/ac at whatever is most comfortable. Washing and drying clothes and doing dishes and everything the same but not any specific time of day. It was cheaper to pay to cancel our contract with txu and switch. We got our money back in less than 2 months with the much lower bills!

I have been with TXU for many years and in the last two years, my electrical bill has been extremely high in the winter months. I set my thermostat at 66 degrees and I still have a high bill. My heating and air conditioning unit is fairly brand new. TXU blames the high price on Oncor delivery charges. I never had this problem before TXU started separating their coxt from Oncor. Ridiculous. As soon as my contract is up, I'm switching.

When I switched providers last year, I thought I was getting a better deal with TXU because their rate per Kw was the cheapest. What I failed to notice was that they charged a TDU delivery charge on top of the rate they advertised. I did a comparison with all my monthly bills from the last 3 years and I am using approx. 10% more electricity last year but paying an extra 45%! Partly my fault for not reading the small print so I want you not to fall into the trap.

I have been with TXU since April 2014. The staff is completely incompetent, unhelpful and unclear. It is almost impossible to reach an actual human being when you call them. I am on their "free nights" plan and have been charged double to triple the amount for my electricity on this plan than I ever was charged with Ambit energy. They tell me it is because I do not use enough energy. So I am charged more for using less.... Interestingly enough, none of those guidelines were not explained to me when signing up. There have also been frequent power outages. Signing with this company has been a miserable experience. And I am unable to change my plan or do anything about it because they said I will have to start up on a completely new plan (a new 12 month contract). I am forced to continue over paying for electricity and dealing with crappy service and power outages until my term is complete. This is the worst company I have ever been in contact with. They lie by omission and then manipulate your situation. Save yourself some money and stress and do not use this company.

I have been paying 250-350 per month in a mobile home where only my husband daughter and myself lives in we work from 7am to 5/ 6:30ish went out of town for TWO weeks no one at home to fine our bill total of 606.97 for 3 people and not even my daughter is3 its an abuse my parents own a restaurant and dont even pay half or this

Just got off the phone with a wonderful customer representative,it was easy she gave best deal. Considering i was thinking of switching, glad i called instead. Very satisfied, wish i called last month i would've saved a ton of money. Been a customer 20 years now.

People let's be honest and out our feet back on the ground, If you have a busy household with kids and all kinds of activities during the day, than probably TXU free nights it's NOT for you... BUT if you're someone who's not at home during the majority of the day and can make "adjustments" to your lifestyle (do laundry during the night, pump up the AC in the early hours of the mornig to cool down the house for the majority of the day during the summer, than this plan is IDEAL for you... I signed up for this plan in June 2014 and during the entire summer not a single bill went over $96 per MONTH and now that's fall season my average bill has been $69 a month... Of course you want to make sure your house is well insulated and have the best "enery savings" appliances, bulbs, etc... THANK YOU TXU, I'l looking fowrard on staying your customer for years to come.

I thought long and hard about the free nights promotions and decided, because I'm gone all day, it would be a great deal. I would turn my air off during the day, shut off all my lights, and unplug appliances I didn't need plugged in until 9:00. I would then run my air cold, do my laundry, run the dishwasher, etc. When I got my bill, my bill was almost $300!. Even when I had another company that charged me 14 cents a KWH, and I ran my air at 76/78, my bill was lower. I called several times to try to get them to come check my meter because I thought there was a problem, but they never did. This promotion is a total scam. DO NOT GET CAUGHT UP WITH IT.

I previously reported exceptional customer service and was waiting on my new bill to see if everything they promised came through. Our bill looked exactly as we were told it would and was 50% lower with the new rate plan they put us on!! I'm not sure why all the bad comments since our experience was awesome!!

I have been a customer for TXU and had the best experiences. The bills were always accurate, topped with the discounts based on usage. The energy dashboard on their website is so useful and lets you know your usage and control you electricity costs. And when I had to disconnect my service because I was moving out of TX, they were so friendly and co-operative and modestly explained the next steps. Thank you TXU.

We went with TXU due to the fact that One of my friends told us they had some decent rates. After being with them for about 6 months I am ready to cancel my contract with them, and call the utilities commissioner. I've had nothing but problems, High bills every month. and then while I'm out of work do to an Injury and I've tried to settle the bill and work so I can pay my other bills until I go back to work, I get nothing but the run around, and then In the middle of my contract you guys want to charge me a deposit, because you guys want to claim that you've sent 2 disconnect notices, which only one was sent. You guys maybe cheap but your service sucks. I will be canceling my contract and I'll be damned if i send you a deposit.

Why am I reading cookie cutter responses to the reviews?Almost all of the complaints sound like a song set on replay.I found this site because I was considering referring my daughter to TXU for the free nights promo but after reading the reviews.....I'll just bring her on board to Green Mountain.I had TXU but like the honest rat I am, I jumped ship after my contract was up, going with Reliant for a lower rate.Once my contract with reliant was up my rates increased again and, me being the predictable rat I am, jumped ship again landing with Green Mountain.So far so good.If I find a lower rate without ridiculous fees I will jump ship again.

I signed up for TXU for my new home after utilizing the powertochoose.org website which compares rates of many providers. TXU's offer was 10.1 cents per Kwh, which at the time was the most competitive. However, what TXU really charged me was close to 15 cents per Kwh. I read the facts labels and clearly could see my quoted rate, what I failed to notice was the fine print. What TXU does, is carve out transmission (TDU) charges from their electricity rates so they can falsely advertise a rate that is much cheaper than what is actually charged. TXU's defense statement to this is that all providers pass on TDU charges to customers. While this is true, the huge and insultingly obvious difference is that the TDU charges are included in the rate for most electric providers. I even gave TXU the opportunity to keep my business and remedy the situation, but after three very long and frustrating calls I received nothing in the way of a reasonable offer. This company and its tactic are in my opinion fraudulent and I will never do business with TXU again. Please learn from my mistakes and avoid using this provider!

Just recently moved to Texas and saw that TXU had what i thought to be decent rate. However when my first bill came it was over $400!!!! For 2 people living a 2 bed, 1000 sq ft apt. we are both gone from the hours of 8am to 9pm. When I called, instead of working to resolve the issue, it was a continuous cycle of telling me we can track daily usage or TDU policy or some other red herring answer. Never was a proposition made to fix the situation, only more answers that never addressed the root of the issue(s). I will NEVER recommend this company to anyone. I have never been more dissatisfied with a product or a service in my entire life. Also, for the TXU employees that are tasked with responding to these reviews with generic answers that offer absolutely no help, haven't you seen a pattern? Not a SINGLE satisfied customer....seems like someone would eventually get the picture that you guys are failing miserably in providing a good product at a good rate with a good customer service team for support. Yet, it all stays the same and the poor reviews keep rolling in. But good for you! you got my 400 bucks right?!

Received our first bill and there is a97 dollar tdu charge. Never saw that with direct energy. Also our electricity bill with direct energy was about 200 a month and with tdu it is 400. Apparently they average bills sometimes. Well the neighbors have a pool and we don't, so clearly averaging isn't going to work for us. I'll be calling tomorrow to cancel. Don't do business with this company!!!
