I used Ambit Energy when I lived in Dallas and really enjoyed the service I received. I also qualified for theirnfree energy program when I referred 15 people to the service. Now I'm in Austin and can't use the service BUT I was able to get the Free Energy credits transferred to my grandma in Houston who is still an Ambit Energy customer. That's so awesome!

This is 2018. I've had Ambit electric service since 2011. In all these years, I've never had a billing problem. Like the other companies, Ambit is a billing company. Oncor is the actual provider but I call Ambit if I have a problem. Lightening struck at my house about 4:30 A.M.in Feb, 2018. Among other damage, my transformer was blown so all electricity was out. I called Ambit. Within hours they had Oncor out here and before nightfall, the transformer was replaced. Before signing up with Ambit, I had tried two other electric companies. I had billing issues with both with errors on my account. Since joining Ambit in 2011, I have not had one billing error. I have to be conservative, but my electric bills have been something to brag about. Thus I'm happy with Ambit Service.

I have been so pleased with Ambit Energy since we became customers in the Fall of 2011. We had been with one of the largest retail companies in Texas for 34 years and I discovered that we were paying way too much for our electricity. I had to do something!! Right away we started paying less each month. After 11 months our light bill came over 70-80% lower! We now receive Free Electricity Credit every single month!! I am so thankful that God brought Ambit Energy to us!!!

I have been a customer of Ambit for going on 6 years. As I read some of these complaints on here, I can see that most complaints are from people that don't pay their bills on time. My billing is always accurate. I have never had a problem with monthly auto draft. Their pricing is always great. Plus I have referred enough clients that I receive a huge discount off my electricity every month. Most months it is completely waived. My last bill was only $9.10 . Their perks are outstanding.

I have never been more satisfied with an electric company I have earned the 15 referrals to qualufy for free energy every month. If you pay your bill on time you should not have any problems. I have no complaints as I'm loving the referral credits that I get on my bill every month. If there was a way to post them on here I would. What a program, a low fixed rate, travel rewards and other perks until you get to the point of getting FREE Energy - Where have you been all my life Ambit Energy !! Pay your bill on time and find 15 others to do the same and you can't be anything but Happy - Happy - Happy !! It was pretty much a no brainer to renew for another 24 months.

I don't know what happens to people in Texas, but in Northern California...Ambit has been awesome to me... Save over $100 a month for my business in gas and about 5-7% on my residential gas... I would love to recommend it... All my gas bill still going through PG&E, but my gas supplier is Ambit... No problem here...

Have been a 3 year customer of Ambit Energy. During the recent rains (July 15-16, 2013) my power went out at my home in NE Dallas. I was able to contact my Ambit Energy consultant directly with my problem. She was then able to contact her customer service department to coordinate the actions with Oncor to review the issues with the line coming to my house. My power came back on within 12 hours. I'm very happy with Ambit Energy!!!

I've been with Ambit for almost a year and they have done everything they said they would. I have a great rate!! While surfing the web, I was disturbed to see the people leaving bad ratings on this website - as I read them, I noticed almost all of them were people that paid their bill late!! I was told when I signed up that Ambit did not tolerate late bill payers and that if you continued to pay late, they would cut you off and ask you to go somewhere else, that is how they keep their rates lower than everyone else. They even give you a discount for doing autopay. Excellent company! Great service!

We signed with Ambit about six months ago after being with TXU for many years. Our bill dropped 30% and the service has been great. I switched to Ambit Energy 5 years ago after being completely dissatisfied with TXU energy as they were charging me 16.9 cents per kwh. Ambit provided a great rate of 9.0 cents per kWh and offered me the opportunity to earn free energy every month if I referred 15 customers. To date, I have received over $7,500 in free energy credit from Ambit. Thank you so much as it allow me to pay off all my credit card debt.Great company!

I have joined Ambit Energy for 2 years now and I have no problems. knock on wood! The renewal rate is competitive to other company and the customer service was great when I called in. I love the points that I can use to travel and book hotel. I am saving up my points to take a trip to Cancun. How many company out there can offer you that for using their energy. I have this great consultant that answer all my questions and concerns. I have referred 10 customers already. 5 more customers and I will get free energy. This is a great company.

We've had Ambit for almost 2 years and we've had no issues with them. Sure the price went up a bit but we expected that along with higher usage in the summer especially living in Texas. I can see other people have complained but we've had no issues especially since we moved up to the DFW area from South Texas where it wasn't common to "shop" for an energy provider. Ambit will also allow you to pay your bill online for free provided you're paying with your checking/savings account.

I've read a lot of the reviews on here and I am shocked. I have not experienced any issues what so ever. We've had Ambit for just over a year now and I'm truly loving the service. Are they perfect, no. But neither is any other company. As long as you pay your bills on time and pay attention to your renewal dates, all will be well.

Yes the price of my service has gone up over the past three years, right along with the cost of living, salaries, and medical expenses. I really don't have to think about my service, it's there every time I plug in something and every time I flip a switch. I pay a little closer attention to how many "smart" pieces of electronics we have going and we pay our bill on time. I expect to get paid on time, I'm sure they do too.I strongly recommend AMBIT ENERGY.

I have had Ambit now for 6 months. Energy bills have definitely been lower, even with fees. I have no doubt some on this blog have legitimate issues. But you might consider that every power provider has a list of websites and blogs "hate-mailing" them. Business takes risks, and as a small business owner myself, even when you go out of your way to do right by your customers, sometimes issues come up in the system. I am always sorry when I have a customer that has been wronged. Frankly, there are some customers that I have tried to make right the problem but seriously asked for unreasonable accommodations. I know many of us are struggling. But honestly, many of these complaints sound like everyday life experiences.

I work in the utility service industry and have for decades. Easy switch, great rate, first class customer service. I have learned that most complaints about any energy provider comes from the customers who are either always late paying or just DON'T pay their bill. Of course when the lights get cut off, it's everyone's fault but theirs!!

I switched to Ambit Energy in September 2010 from one of the biggest service providers in Texas and lowered my bill 34% - a tremendous savings! They guaranteed the switchover to be flawless or pay my first two months of my electric bills. Everything went smoothly without even noticing. Very reliable company having a long-term commitment of energy source from one of the largest oil and gas companies in the world. People are very relationship oriented and care about you. Oh, they do give you a free weekend stay at hotel from choice of about 25 good 3+ star hotels. Got my voucher, but haven't gone yet. I know it's good as I know a some people who have. Highly recommend.

I had been with TXU for thirty years when I started with them they were Texas Electric and a people company and after that length of time they told me they could offer me a 12.2 kwh with a two year contract, you would think after that many years they could do better then that. I sign with Ambit for 9.9 and they have been great.

I've been a loyal customer for almost 10 years now. I had to switch accounts for my billing. In the switch, I accidentally attempted to pay the bill with my old account. Well, once I found out that I made the mistake, I was charged a late fee, disconnect notice fee, and a returned payment fee....Though these charges were only $57, I have a problem with them not waiving them because of my tenure and loyalty as a good customer. I have a house full and I shell out at times up to $500 a month or more for service. Quite disappointed.

When I decided not to renew my contract, my price doubled. I was moving apartments and didn't want to renew with them. Other companies have better pricing. My price for 15 days was the same as 30 days. I came to find out that my leasing agent and her friends were getting free electricity from Ambit based on referrals. I came to find out that this was "illegal." Leasing agents can't recommend only one electric provider. So, we the other customers were paying for their electricity. Their cost was being passed on to us.

I was actually a consultant for this company when they first started out. I signed up with them and I have been with them for years. However, I think our relationship is now coming to an end. My bill is suddenly astronomical! Within 2 short months, my bill doubled! I really don't know why! I have looked into my usage, my bills, my plan...nothing makes sense as to my why bill suddenly went from $90ish to just under $200 for an 800sqft. apartment. I think it might have to do with their usage variations, but I guess we shall see. My answer from them is still pending. They're relatively pleasant to speak with and try to be helpful, but if you are looking for a similar bill amount each month, this would not be my pick. Plus, their rates have increased, so you can probably find a better-suited provider in your area for less. Good luck!

I'm leaving Ambit after 4 years. I have really never had a problem with them, it just all came down to the best they could offer was a 10.4 average and I found a different company for 10.2. I have read sooo many reviews and Ambit has a lot of bad reviews, but so do so many other companies, including the one I'm switching to. If I regret my switch, Ambit I may see you in another year!!

I have been a customer of Ambit Energy for about 3 years and my electricity bills have been the lowest then any other company I have been through. Their customer service can be better, but overall, the money I save on my bills overshadows the less then professional customer service line. Whenever its time to renew my contract, I always gets something in the mail from Ambit. Also, if you created an online account, its actually listed there when its time tor renew. I have had my share of issues with Ambit but overall, the service is good.

I have been a customer for 2 years and have been satisfied with product. The lights turn on when I flip the switch to 'on'. So no complaints there. Where there is a huge issue is the customer service. Since joining..I have called in to customer service 4 times for various non-critical issues. I have NEVER spoken to anyone. I always call during working hours. The recording always says 'we are very busy..you are next in line"..then plays horrible music over and over again. Each call last, on average 45 minutes. Waiting waiting and waiting. If you want to get your blood pressure up, have the need to get frustrated or yell..I would recommend calling Ambit Energy "customer service". What a JOKE.

We've had Ambit for a year and half. We were with TXU before that. Ambit has been wonderful! Switching companies was easy and I've never had any problems with billing. I want to sign another contract but am having trouble finding a way to do that on their website. Also, I want to use my reward points but am also having trouble using them on the website.

I like the free electricity offer and the free travel. The consultant helped me sign up, and has kept in contact with me, which I enjoy. I am not a number, but somebody important. I never have had a problem with the billing, and saved myself over $82 a month, just by switching. My old company (Reliant)offered to match the rate I was getting, but I didn't want to stay with the company that could have offered me lower rates, and didn't.

My roommate and I are beyond fed up with Ambit and their lies. Literally EVERY agent tells me something different. One agent said we can pay $50 today Dec 6th and we can pay the past due balance on the 16th (rommate lost their job 2 wks ago and still pending unemployment). So we call today to finalize the arrangements and and now they said we MUST pay by the 14th or it'll be disconnected knowing we lost an income 2 wks ago. They refuse to work with your pay schedule. We're looking to get a lawyer on this scam of a company.

My bills are getting out of hand 300 plus dollars light bills on a 10.5kwp. Im in a 2 bedroom apt and barely home due to my job working. There is no way I'm using 2000 plus kwph a month. I had Ambit for 1 year and the rate was fair for a few months and then starting going up. There is no way to pay half before the due date and then pay the rest with out paying a fee. I paid $289 for February and now for March it's $363.91. And Oncor charges are ridiculous $112. So I am done with Ambit! Cancelled and not going back.

I have never been late paying my bill. I was less than 24hrs late on my bill for October. I paid my bill the next day which happened to be pay day and when I had scheduled to pay it anyway. When I noticed that it was late and a late fee had been added to my account, I called to address it. Seems like all their reps are remote, I could hear children in the back ground. The person I spoke with had "submitted for a refund to be allocated to my bill, and told me to pay the difference which was $12.26 less than the amount showing on my account." When I received the next months bill there was only a credit of $2.26 that had been applied to my account and the $10.00 late charge had been reallocated as another fee, which means I had a balance going forward from the previous bill, which also meant that they didn't actually credit me the fee's that they said they did, they just reallocated it to a different line item. When I called to dispute the charges, we went round and round with them not understanding that I never got the credit that they supposedly removed from my account. Which means as long as I paid what my bill showed I would always have a balance going forward. This company lies and cheats to make money. please don't buy into the hype, they are not an honest company to do business with.

I have been with Ambit Energy since 2017 and the bill has been inconsistent, I'm hardly ever home...I unplug things and rarely run my ac/heat. I transferred their services from one apartment to another apartment complex not far from each other and was hit with a cancellation fee and stated that I switched to another provider!!!!! I didn't BTW! I just transferred the lights! There's now an investigation. I've only been in the apartment for one month , today. I cannot pay a $200.00 bill. I'm rarely home due to working days through 7 p.m. and most weekends I'm out of town. Oh! And now AE is saying that I no longer have an account with them!!!! HUH! I have lights btw as well...apparently another provider has taken over, but neither I nor AE know who? So Over IT!

The plan price seemed okay so I went with them but gosh, the worst customer service and bill delivery system. My bill was always late, missing or non existent. Their agents are uninformed and basically just unequipped to do anything, they will not work with any situation, not even in the middle of a pandemic, for a healthcare worker with covid positive residents in the house after they failed to send the bill. I just moved in with my mother. I tried to read bill statement. It was the most confusing piece of paper I've ever read in my life. I do not appreciate getting a late fee for being less than 24 hours late on paying bill. $10.00 is robbery when you are paying basically on time. I also have noticed lately that whatever my light usage is I am paying half that amount in delivery charges... so for a $60.00 usage add $27.00 in delivery fee then and taxes....it is ridiculous....

Rates kept going up year after year, while payment via online using a credit card is charged "$2.50 - Electronic processing fee"

With all of the power transmission fees and usage fees, this is a pretty good deal for Ambit.

Kind of like how asian business only accept cash, no fees.

Granted, I live in an older, not very well insulated apartment with one energy efficient major kitchen appliance, but after the TDU fees and all, I pay $135/month on average. I also missed the fine print that you're charged $10 if you use less than 1000 kW, which was the case when I tried to lessen my expenses by turning off everything on surge protectors. I haven't had any issues requiring me to call customer service, I just attribute the expense to my selecting them as my option and not using the Power To Choose website. I'll soon be moving and changing companies as well. One with no minimum electricity usage.

The billing and customer service departments are nightmares. I had an issue with adding a new checking account. I think what happened is I entered the number incorrectly. I called multiple times and was told my payment was fine. Then I get a call saying it wasn't and that I'll have a fee... even though the gal I talked to couldn't help me fix the problem. I couldn't figure out how to delete or edit the account information and it wouldn't let me add the account because I already had one with that number. so I call customer service and am then told I have a 12 month block that will prevent me from even paying with a checking account at all. The supervisor says there is nothing they can do about it. My deal is if I couldn't edit the account numbers or even see the account numbers I put in I don't know if they are scamming me or if it was my mistake. I asked what the account and routing numbers were and no one I talked to apparently had the ability or authority to see them... they just knew the payment didn't process... even though I was told everything was fine.

The short version... shady, not helpful, parrot policy customer service because the only thing anyone could say is the exact sentence over and over, and an overall lack of training with their employees. Also, I tried to get help through their Facebook page and they deleted my comment. So now I am looking for every review site so no one has to be as irritated and frustrated and the lack of resolution as I am.

Customer service as a consultant or customer is very poor. They change your plan when they wish and give you excuses for doing it. you get no help or consideration out of them if you fall short do to a any reason you may have. Mine was a wreck and had my back broken, out of work and it was of no fault of mine. They did not care that i was a consultant and in a tight time , there was no help from them or care just cut off the electricity. Got it back on and the bills come late so the charge late fees and threaten you with cut off. Do not recommend them to any one.

After being slammed by EnTrust energy, Ambit charged me a $199 "early termination fee." I called Ambit, Entrust Energy, and the PUCT and got everything straightened out EXCEPT Ambit's termination fee... they literally told me that the money was there's and it would be used toward future invoices... what am I, Ambit's loan service? I've been with Ambit since 2005 and this is how they show respect for a customer! I noticed a few attempts to boost Ambit's ratings by there consultant zombies giving good ratings, if you go to Ambit's Facebook site and try to post even a slightly negative comment, you'll be band, I think the same should be done here! I posted a copy of the PUCT's complaint I filed where Ambit was chastised for not taking care of business within the 21 days allotted and it was removed within hours of my post on a Saturday, Labor day weekend!

Recently my Ambit account was hijacked by Entrust Energy. Ambit sent out a second bill which included 600 extra kilowatts I'd used and a $199 early termination fee... understandable. After contacting Ambit I was surprised to find out this situation is quite common. I had paid my bill before realizing it was a new bill so I asked when I would get the $199 fee back; they said it would be applied to future invoices. Now unlike some, I pay my Ambit bill early... I also round the bill up to the nearest dollar, and I've been a loyal customer for over 7 years (almost 7000 useless travel points,) how do they say thanks, by keeping 1.5 months worth of payments. As I was speaking with the Texas PUC about the account hijacking I mentioned Ambits policy of keeping the "spoils" of my situations and applying them to "possible future invoices" and the PUC said "we'll look into this." This morning about 9am I get a call from Ambit wishing to address my PUC complaint and guess what... suddenly I CAN get my $199 fee back as a check, not a credit. In closing, don't get angry; call the PUC. If you don't have a leg to stand on with the PUC, you shouldn't be complaining.

I'm extremely satisfied with my monthly bill, but, as i received my bills, i paid them "promptly" but, with my prompt payment i immediately received a "disconnect notice?" Then trying to get someone on customer service was like pulling teeth? Took 20 minutes? Explained to them that i paid my bill promptly and why the disconnect notice? Customer service looked over my bill and said, well, there my bill was paid in full? Said they would check that out? Yeah, got two more just like that? I dug into my trash and found the post marked envelope from "them&" was mailed to me (from them) on Feb. 08, 2011 and i received the bill between the 9th and 12th...and paid bill promptly on the 14th of Feb....Billing period ended Jan 20th so that took them about 18 days to bill me?? Billing department must have monkeys doing the work to save costs? I have the agent that sold me on this company checking this crap out!

What I dont understand is why when your plan expires they jack up the rate per kWh. Every provider Ive had does it including Ambit. What about customer loyalty? Doesnt matter - its all about hail to the ol mighty dollar. Was an Ambit customer for 2+years and paid late a few times because the bill was so high I couldnt afford it. They charge enormous late fees and will disconnect your service at the drop of a hat then demand the bill + deposit of $400 or greater. I had to pay over $600 to get it reconnected. They turned it off during the summer here in Texas and I have children in my home. I dont think that deregulation should mean deregulating completely. The fees they charge usurious and she be banned. I dont think I save any more money now then I did when TXU was the only provider. I think the whole electricity industry is running a racket.

I have the date circled to switch. I have been using for almost 2 years and was an acquired customer through a buy out. I was signed up for an all green policy at a higher rate but thought it was worth it. When the company switched over, there was no all green plan but stated that theirs was comparable but not all green? I was not able to switch my contract without the high term penalty even if it was a different plan in the same company. Now my rate is high without the benefit of supporting 100% wind and solar power. I feel robbed. Can't wait to switch. I did like the ability to pay online and customer service was pleasant, just not helpful. Probably a green plan now, but I don't know that I trust them.

For starters I live in a 1 bedroom apartment and I live alone. I received a bill of 220.00 and the next month it was 215.00!!! I called customer service and was asked if I had plug-ins and if I unplug my cell phone once it reaches 100% ?!? Of course I laughed and so did she, but I guess it was a script and it was a formality if someone questions their bill. With that being said I made contact with other companies and shared the amount of kws (1030) and was advised that if I had used that amount with their company my statement would've been less than 90.00 dollars. I've have changed my services and paid the early cancellation fee of 200.00 dollars for a grand total of 655.00 in three months. I just received my first full month statement from the new company and I now owe 74.00 dollars which makes more sense because that was what my payments were before I received the 200.00 dollar statements. The friend that signed me up with this company is no longer a friend. This company has 2 Class action lawsuits for over billing and it's public record.

Before we could move my GF had to sign up with an electricity company with her info. In the first apartment me and my GF didn't have any issues until we moved. My GF messaged someone on the website about moving and trying to finalize info. The person left the chat out of nowhere so it never got finalized but they could see when it took place and what was being said. My GF thought everything was all good and finalized, but we still had to pay electricity for the old apartment for an extra 3 months while we weren't living there. We also had to pay the current apartment complex $300 for OUR Electricity. After we realized we were having to pay electricity for the old apartment my GF called to let them know the new address and that we were still paying for the old apartment electricity so the guy took $20 off how much we owe. The next day the power randomly got shut off for us and we ended up having to pay $90 just to get it back. Three weeks later we looked at our account and of course were still being charged from the old apartment. When I called Customer Service, the dude was no help, saw the original message they had with my GF and when I was telling him about how we moved 3 months ago before I called. He just kept saying, "you requested to change places this month" and when I asked if he could help out with the amount that's due Today ($255). He said he can help set up a payment plan. He even said that the $90 we had to pay was from the old apartment complex electricity and that the majority of the $255 was electricity from this month. I wish I did a lot more research on Ambit before joining them. I plan on leaving them as fast as I can.

I was told to use Ambit at a complex I was considering. The complex made me get electricity etc before approval and I wasnt approved. Called to cancel Ambit. They said they did. Finally moved into another apartment and they hit me with two bills. One for the 1st apartment and mine and tried to get me to pay both!

Used them for a yr at my current complex. No complaints. Bills were between $75-$90. Renewed and 4 months in was on vacation for the summer and my bill was $109, $129 & $129. Now Im August they hit me with two bills, $129 and $206 and cut my electricity off! Its only Aug. 17th and my $206 bill Is for Aug 13-31st. HOW?

To top it off. When I renewed, they offered me plans that differed my original plan and only had the amount and name of the plan. Come to find out, the plan I, Chose, for my APARTMENT is a plan from 2022-2025!!! And to get out of this I have to pay them $299!

I called ambit energy last week and ask them how much my bill is to avoid disconnection ( because I never received a bill) the rep inform me it will be 242 and some change so I paid it over the phone. Monday comes around and my lights are off I called ambit energy and the first rep says that I had 2 disconnection notices and I only paid one of them off. The worst electric company in the world. We lived in Dallas, TX, and lived in a small bedroom apartment we didn't use a microwave or an oven and there was not a dishwasher in my apartment. We don't own a TV! We don't turn on the heater or AC unless the temperature gets too hot/cold. We were barely home and it was just me and my spouse. We turn off everything when we are not using the appliances/devices but we had to pay about $100 each month.A week before we moved out, a technician from another company said our meter has been reading wrong. After calling Ambit's customer service many times about the bill, they didn't even offer a solution that they can send people out to check the meter.This company is a bait and switch. They are the nicest when they're selling but when you have a concern they are rude at customer service and they just don't care.Here's a hint if you will be paying a lot for electricity when choosing a company: Don't choose a company that does philanthropy work and that has many programs such as referrals, or free summer energy (because nothing is free) because they will suck your hard-earned money and you're paying for someone's else electricity. The salesperson, Eddie Pina, that we work with was benefitting from the referral program and he ended up not paying for electricity. We had his personal number and he only answered when it was time for us to switch to Ambit. However, when I had questions about the bill. He ignored us and showed that he didn't care and did not even offer a solution perhaps having people come out to check the meter. Before switching to Ambit try calling customer service to see how they handle calls even before you become their customer to see their true side. I will never recommend this company even to my enemies.

Four months after I canceled with Ambit due to moving out of my apartment, and into a house I received a collection from the credit bureau which drastically affected my credit score. I had $0.00 as a total amount due, with zero invoices of the amount that I "supposedly owed" on the Ambit portal. I do not understand how I was supposed to pay for something I did not know about. I have never missed a payment on anything including my credit card being paid in full every month. If you choose this company, expect hidden fees that you will not know about once you cancel. Had electric with Ambit called in and they would not talk to me about my account. I am the president of the corporation and the one who set electric up at Ambit but was told I was not An authorized person on the account. Customer service rep was a foreigner and could not be understood they need English speaking people who can communicate and have customer service skills. Avoid Ambit at all cost

After little change in weather suddenly my bill jumped to $400. I have never had a $400 light bill in all my years of paying bills. Two months in a row Ive been charged it now. Our water heater and stove are on gas to begin with. And that didnt change at all. I called and could barely understand the customer service rep and basically they just said that they would send someone to check the meter, on my dime, and that I still had to pay the bill.

WORST customer service I have ever experienced. Had disconnected services in July 2021. Now March 2022. They continued to send a bill for 9 months with late fees and taxes and late fees on top of late fees. Could not get off their customer list. Our company had two leadership changes in the last 3 years and they still had old contact information. This leadership is not originally from TX in general and had no idea who these people were. Ambit customer service would NOT help in any way to resolve this issue because we were not listed as contacts. (Like how do we find out who they are. We are not from around this area of service. ) I would NOT recommend this service to anyone, especially one that adds late fees and service charges to late fees and service charges, when you have exhausted efforts to disconnect from their service.

I live alone and this is my first apartment, I was suggested by my property manager but my mistake. I have a 2bdr,2bth so guest can have some where to sleep when they come over. I also have a two jobs so Im literally never at home but every month for the past 3 months my light bill has been $250 and once again Im never home and no one uses that other room or bathroom literally EVER and Im never home. One of the worst company ever. High bill. Charge too many fees. When talked to customer service they kept saying that my new "plan" will take affect in 1-2 billing cycle. I canceled with them and went with direct energy. I went from paying $200 a month to like $70-80 LOL. WOW. I have a tiny apartment so ambient energy just robbed me so much. Don't go with them.

For starters I live in a 1 bedroom apartment and I live alone. I received a bill of 220.00 and the next month it was 215.00!!! I called customer service and was asked if I had plug-ins and if I unplug my cell phone once it reaches 100% ?!? Of course I laughed and so did she, but I guess it was a script and it was a formality if someone questions their bill. With that being said I made contact with other companies and shared the amount of kws (1030) and was advised that if I had used that amount with their company my statement would've been less than 90.00 dollars. I've have changed my services and paid the early cancellation fee of 200.00 dollars for a grand total of 655.00 in three months. I just received my first full month statement from the new company and I now owe 74.00 dollars which makes more sense because that was what my payments were before I received the 200.00 dollar statements. The friend that signed me up with this company is no longer a friend. This company has 2 Class action lawsuits for over billing and it's public record.

I'm a single male living in a one bedroom apartment paying a bill of 80-90.00 dollars a month and the next month is 220.00 and the following was 215.00, I called and the rep told me that I should unplug my phone from the charger once it's fully charged and then she asked if I had any plug-ins and I had to laugh to keep from getting upset. So now I've switched service's and now I owe them 255.00 and I had to beg for an extension. To whoever gave them a 5,4 or even a 3 star had to be at the top of the pyramid!! The friend that signed me up for this B.S. Scam is no longer a friend and she can't even look me in the face to apologize to me because she knew it was bs from the beginning.

My roommate and I are beyond fed up with Ambit and their lies. Literally EVERY agent tells me something different. One agent said we can pay $50 today Dec 6th and we can pay the past due balance on the 16th (rommate lost their job 2 wks ago and still pending unemployment). So we call today to finalize the arrangements and and now they said we MUST pay by the 14th or it'll be disconnected knowing we lost an income 2 wks ago. They refuse to work with your pay schedule. We're looking to get a lawyer on this scam of a company.

Before we could move my GF had to sign up with an electricity company with her info. In the first apartment me and my GF didn't have any issues until we moved. My GF messaged someone on the website about moving and trying to finalize info. The person left the chat out of nowhere so it never got finalized but they could see when it took place and what was being said. My GF thought everything was all good and finalized, but we still had to pay electricity for the old apartment for an extra 3 months while we weren't living there. We also had to pay the current apartment complex $300 for OUR Electricity. After we realized we were having to pay electricity for the old apartment my GF called to let them know the new address and that we were still paying for the old apartment electricity so the guy took $20 off how much we owe. The next day the power randomly got shut off for us and we ended up having to pay $90 just to get it back. Three weeks later we looked at our account and of course were still being charged from the old apartment. When I called Customer Service, the dude was no help, saw the original message they had with my GF and when I was telling him about how we moved 3 months ago before I called. He just kept saying, "you requested to change places this month" and when I asked if he could help out with the amount that's due Today ($255). He said he can help set up a payment plan. He even said that the $90 we had to pay was from the old apartment complex electricity and that the majority of the $255 was electricity from this month. I wish I did a lot more research on Ambit before joining them. I plan on leaving them as fast as I can.

Ambit Energy does not care about their customers. I overpaid on a bill and they would not cancel the transaction so that I can make the correct amount payment. I was only trying to pay the current amount due. The online paying system took the full amount that still was not due until 18 days later. My leasing agent from my apartment told me to sign up with this pyramid scheme that at the time I didn't know was a pyramid scheme. Well my first bill was $400 for one month. The reason for my review is I signed up for services supposedly went through a month had passed before they told me they canceled my account didnt reach out to me by phone by email or by mail I had to call myself and ask for my refund only for them to tell me my refund will be issued on a card and will come in the mail 10-14 business days. I have had Ambit Energy for over 5 years and continue to have issues. Now I desperately need to get OUT of my 3 year contract. This company is a joke. Your bill is low for a few months then almost triples in cost after and the only explanation and assistance you get is these are fees that come from center point engery & they have NO control over it but also charge there own fees they cant help with either. I was told to call 211 and get assistance from a utility assistance program. I can pay my bill I cant pay double my bill in fess someone else is charging its ridiculous!! I was told to use Ambit at a complex I was considering. The complex made me get electricity etc before approval and I wasnt approved. Called to cancel Ambit. They said they did. Finally moved into another apartment and they hit me with two bills. One for the 1st apartment and mine and tried to get me to pay both!

Used them for a yr at my current complex. No complaints. Bills were between $75-$90. Renewed and 4 months in was on vacation for the summer and my bill was $109, $129 & $129. Now Im August they hit me with two bills, $129 and $206 and cut my electricity off! Its only Aug. 17th and my $206 bill Is for Aug 13-31st. HOW?

To top it off. When I renewed, they offered me plans that differed my original plan and only had the amount and name of the plan. Come to find out, the plan I, Chose, for my APARTMENT is a plan from 2022-2025!!! And to get out of this I have to pay them $299!

I called ambit energy last week and ask them how much my bill is to avoid disconnection ( because I never received a bill) the rep inform me it will be 242 and some change so I paid it over the phone. Monday comes around and my lights are off I called ambit energy and the first rep says that I had 2 disconnection notices and I only paid one of them off. (Which made no f******* sense to me) so I got a supervisor she said I would have to pay an additional 215$ plus reconnect fee to turn back on I informed the supervisor that when I called last week they said it was only $242. So the supervisor says she will reconnect my service for a one time courtesy and it will take 2-4hours to restore and I have til Friday to pay $215 or it will be disconnected. So I waited 5 hours and my lights are still not on. Called ambit energy again spoke to a rep saying that I have yo wait 24-48 hours.. this is ridiculous I would not recommend ambit energy I wont to change another electric company but Im stuck with ambit because of a switch hold! Also it seems like my electric bill gets higher and higher every month.

Outrageous prices. Customer service is useless. They can't do anything to the account. They have this feature where you are supposed to be able to see your monthly usage broken down, but it never works. The worst electric company in the world. We lived in Dallas, TX, and lived in a small bedroom apartment we didn't use a microwave or an oven and there was not a dishwasher in my apartment. We don't own a TV! We don't turn on the heater or AC unless the temperature gets too hot/cold. We were barely home and it was just me and my spouse. We turn off everything when we are not using the appliances/devices but we had to pay about $100 each month.A week before we moved out, a technician from another company said our meter has been reading wrong. After calling Ambit's customer service many times about the bill, they didn't even offer a solution that they can send people out to check the meter.This company is a bait and switch. They are the nicest when they're selling but when you have a concern they are rude at customer service and they just don't care.Here's a hint if you will be paying a lot for electricity when choosing a company: Don't choose a company that does philanthropy work and that has many programs such as referrals, or free summer energy (because nothing is free) because they will suck your hard-earned money and you're paying for someone's else electricity. The salesperson, Eddie Pina, that we work with was benefitting from the referral program and he ended up not paying for electricity. We had his personal number and he only answered when it was time for us to switch to Ambit. However, when I had questions about the bill. He ignored us and showed that he didn't care and did not even offer a solution perhaps having people come out to check the meter. Before switching to Ambit try calling customer service to see how they handle calls even before you become their customer to see their true side. I will never recommend this company even to my enemies.

Four months after I canceled with Ambit due to moving out of my apartment, and into a house I received a collection from the credit bureau which drastically affected my credit score. I had $0.00 as a total amount due, with zero invoices of the amount that I "supposedly owed" on the Ambit portal. I do not understand how I was supposed to pay for something I did not know about. I have never missed a payment on anything including my credit card being paid in full every month. If you choose this company, expect hidden fees that you will not know about once you cancel. After little change in weather suddenly my bill jumped to $400. I have never had a $400 light bill in all my years of paying bills. Two months in a row Ive been charged it now. Our water heater and stove are on gas to begin with. And that didnt change at all. WORST customer service I have ever experienced. Had disconnected services in July 2021. Now March 2022. They continued to send a bill for 9 months with late fees and taxes and late fees on top of late fees. Could not get off their customer list. Our company had two leadership changes in the last 3 years and they still had old contact information. This leadership is not originally from TX in general and had no idea who these people were. Ambit customer service would NOT help in any way to resolve this issue because we were not listed as contacts. (Like how do we find out who they are. We are not from around this area of service. ) I would NOT recommend this service to anyone, especially one that adds late fees and service charges to late fees and service charges, when you have exhausted efforts to disconnect from their service.

I had Ambit for 1 year and the rate was fair for a few months and then starting going up. There is no way to pay half before the due date and then pay the rest with out paying a fee. I received a statement the week of 1/27/22 in the mail, with a $0 past due amount and current amount due on 2/9/22. Today, 2/8/22, I came home to no power, and when I called Ambit they were rude and said I would have to pay the past due balance and the reconnect fees to have my power restored! I asked them to LOOK at the last bill they sent and even though it was acknowledged that the bill was not due till the next day, and the past due was $0 they refused to help- then ignored me to where I said hello?? As there was silence on their end - only to be told to pay the past due balance and reconnect fee to restore power within 24 hours. Seriously?? Even my middle school age daughter who heard my conversation with the supervisor said they need to check on that, thats not a supervisor. THEN, when the supervisor hung up on me, and I hit redial - the person who answered said I had called TXU and didnt have any record of my account! I called back again, using the same number and it was indeed Ambit. This was a horrible night all due to Ambit, and all the groceries in my fridge and freezer and the groceries I purchased on my way home from work are ruined. I have had service for over 2 years With this company, and know what the statements look like, how they work, and I am not an idiot. They covered up their mistake and made me pay the price for it. Dont use AMBIT!!!

The Ambit site has had some major glitches in the last couple of months. When I went to pay my bill by using my saved bank account, the page froze as if the payment didn't go through successfully. I went through the payment process again this time typing in my card. It charged me twice so I called the next day when it appeared in account activity. They said they could only send me a check in 7-14 days or I could just let it roll over. As I had a full month before my next payment, I declined this offer to let it roll over. I know that refund to my card was 100% an option for any major business and sending a check or "pre-paid card" isn't ethical business practices. I talked to a supervisor who finally said I would have a refund in 24 hours. It never came. I called today and apparently the supervisor decided to INSTEAD go ahead and apply the amount to my account which I had specifically declined. Every call has an automated message saying that the call will be recorded for "customer satisfaction"... They refused to go back and listen and just kept saying nothing was possible at this point because the amount had been applied to my account already. I have gone ahead and reported this incident to the Attorney General. I have to switch energy suppliers in a month and that will be a hassle well worth it.

I have been with Ambit for about a year. I am on autopay and have used the same credit since I opened my account. Today, my electricity was turned off for non-payment. I called and was told my credit card didn't go through when they tried to charge it. Never received an email or notification of the issue. I have never been late paying my bill. I was less than 24hrs late on my bill for October. I paid my bill the next day which happened to be pay day and when I had scheduled to pay it anyway. When I noticed that it was late and a late fee had been added to my account, I called to address it. Seems like all their reps are remote, I could hear children in the back ground. The person I spoke with had "submitted for a refund to be allocated to my bill, and told me to pay the difference which was $12.26 less than the amount showing on my account." When I received the next months bill there was only a credit of $2.26 that had been applied to my account and the $10.00 late charge had been reallocated as another fee, which means I had a balance going forward from the previous bill, which also meant that they didn't actually credit me the fee's that they said they did, they just reallocated it to a different line item. When I called to dispute the charges, we went round and round with them not understanding that I never got the credit that they supposedly removed from my account. Which means as long as I paid what my bill showed I would always have a balance going forward. This company lies and cheats to make money. please don't buy into the hype, they are not an honest company to do business with.

I was told within a 30 second call on a Friday that my energy would be shut off due to paying a bill 1 day late. Within 5 minutes of that call, I paid my bill. After paying my small bill amount, I was then told my energy would be turned on within 2-4 hours. It has now been 20 hours and NOW Im being told it takes 24 hours. The best part is that Im ALSO told they dont turn electricity on, on the weekends. WTF ? Is this a joke ? I live in Texas in 100 degree heat and all my groceries are gone. I was a customer on autopay without any issues, on a one year contract. About 5 months in, Ambit discontinued my service. I only knew this bc I had a fee on my apartment rental acct which the apt mgr said was a "house electric charge".. about $100. The apartment will do this when the tenant has no utility company, b/c you can't live there without utilities and you need to be paying for your utilities. When I called Ambit, they couldn't tell me why this happened and would do a "deep dive". A couple weeks later they contact me to say that someone applied for service with another company using my apartment unit #, and that service was switched out of my name to the other person's name. Long story short, during the time Ambit cancelled my account (6 wks) they still billed me for about $300 while I was paying for "house electric" with my apartment. They lied and said they didn't cancel me but couldn't explain why there was a cancellation fee on my account. Ambit totally screwed this whole thing up, lied, charged me for service not provided and then sent me to collections. I'm overpaying $300 but can't be bothered to fight them b/c it's too convoluted. Ambit's customer service is also atrocious- as you can imagine I had to call in multiple times and they either hang up on you while you're on hold, can't figure out your bill or will argue that you are wrong and lie to your face. Moral: DON'T USE AMBIT. I got set up with TXU after that (the apt "house electric") and it's been great.

This was THE worst electric company Ive ever had! I have so many PUC complaints on them its not even funny but my last complaint about my inadvertent loss topped the cake. My electric was switched out, my apts & I had to work on this for the fact no one would tell me anything coz my name wasnt on the bill the persons name my electric was in wasnt even living in my apts! They shut off my electricity because theirr website for some reason won't take my payment. I've tried multiple ways of paying for it and then got a notice that it wasn't paid. I called and they said it was my fault and that I should have made sure that it went through. I had to pay to turn it back on and pay late fees even after I had confirmation that I paid it but it never pulled out of my account. I've tried to set up auto pay three times and it still says I'm not signed up for auto pay. Don't expect to understand, over the phone, the out-sourced Ambit call-takers. Don't expect any dialects of American English to be spoken. Ambit's call-takers and their supervisors articulation, pronunciation, and dialect--while supposedly communicating in English--is from another planet.Since January 2016, I've been an Ambit customer today is July 30, 2021. Yesterday, I wrangled with three different call-takers and presumably one supervisor over a billing issue. By the time that I gave up, I felt as though I'd been wrestling with a bear for several hours.At the end of last month (June 30, 2021), I paid my bill in full using their automated telephone system. With their paper statement in front of me showing the total balance due, I write my check for that exact same amount (using my carbon-copy checkbook). On the top of my check, as well as on the top of their paper statement, I note something such as this: pd by ph 6/30/21ck# 1234cf#abc123def456 (confirmation #)I noticed yesterday that their most current statement shows me as owing a past-due balance of $2.50. Inspecting last month's statement and my carbon copy check that I had stapled to it, nope...I had written that check for the same amount as "total due." Upon further inspection of last month's statement, however, I saw on the 2nd page the lesser amount their call takers had been insisting to me was the amount I had paid. It was $2.50 less. Then, I saw their electronic processing fee was $2.50. The supposed supervisor (my 4th contact) told me that I would have to prove what I had paid last month by faxxing to Ambit my carbon copy check. I did fax that, in addition to that particular statement and the current statement that shows the unpaid balance of $2.50. The supervisor promised that I would hear back from Ambit in 48 hours.Oh. Let me add this. During the disastrous week of the infamous Texas ice storm and power outages, I had no electric power from Monday February 15, 2021, to Thursday evening of February 18. My bill covering that period was astronomically high--as in, $200 range instead of the $100 and below range. I called about that, back then. But again, Ambit's call-takers' versions of spoken English and their reliance upon reading their required script (passed off as "conversation") had me feeling as though I were wrestling bears.I HIGHLY do NOT recommend Ambit Energy for the sole reason of their outsourced call-taker agents. Their oral language skills are 'outa this world'...as if they are from another planet.

My account has been cancelled twice. Once due to their mistake of turning on the power at the wrong house and cancelling my account. This left me in the TEXAS SUMMER HEAT with no electricity. I was then told the only way to get my power back on was if i set up a new account (2nd account with ambit now).. so i did. But of course, it is a more expensive and longer plan. Somehow they did not offer my current plan anymore (convenient). Fast forward 3 weeks, i set up auto pay on my new 2nd account. After my first bill, i notice my account is cancelled and i am ONCE AGAIN left in the TEXAS SUMMER HEAT with no power. I have talked to numerous customer service agents, not one of them can seem to figure it out. However, the only way to resolve this problem and get my power back on would be to make ANOTHER account. My THIRD ACCOUNT in 2 months!!!!! No help whatsoever. They are not there to help, they just want to explain why their rates are the best. It doesnt matter what the rates are when YOU HAVE NO POWER. I am done with Ambit. So here i am, sitting in a 90 degree house until another electricity company can come turn the power back on. Waiting for the $200 disconnection fee Im sure they will care me. Nate Supervisor of Accounts Horrible!! Breathing into the phone, and sounded like he was asleep and was extremely knowledgeable.
I have also been outright lied to and all of the customer service reps and supervisors are unknowledgeable to the extent of being fraudulent due to their lack of simple knowledge of well anything having to do with your account.
To say they are ABSOLUTELY NO HELP is an understatement!

I was told when I decided to switch my service from TXU to Ambit if I signed up for the summer plan that my bill would be 1/2 off from June to the end of September. Now I had been with TXU for years but I thought this sounded like a great plan so I switched! Well when I get my June bill its definitely not 1/2 off like I was told. I had a 28.00 discount.. So this agent totally lied to me when I signed up. Now if I wanna change services I get penalized and I cant change my plan cuz its past the 30 days. I switched to a new energy company after 5+ years with Ambit. They would not send me any proof of cancellation. After I paid what should have been my final invoice, there apparently another invoice that never received. No email, no letter informing me of a balance on my account. I had no idea I owed anything until I received a letter from a collections agency - followed by a letter from Ambit saying there was a CREDIT on my account and they would send me a gift card in the amount they owed me. How do you send me to collections and then say you owe me money? Shady business practices and an unethical business model (multilevel marketing). Stay far, far, far away.

Their customer service is absolutely terrible, you will get multiple different answers from different people and none of which are even correct. They will most likely bill youtwice on more than one occasion which happened to me multiple times. This process was by far the worst. If you want a refund dont even bother it will take upward of 1-2 months to receive via Wirecard ( some sketchy prepaid card company) just take the credit for the next bill. I made the mistake one time of asking for a refund. They changed my plan in the middle of a contract to a more expensive energy usage without letting me know. To rebound off of this you cannot even view your usage any longer via their app or website. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company.

I have never requested service with Ambit. This is the 3rd time I get switched from my current provider to Ambit. I was told to contact Ambit to ask how they retrieved my personal information. They simply told me anyone who decides to input my information on line can just transfer my service no questions asked. I asked them how if my social security is used, I was told, we dont need your SSN. No assistance at all, agent kept repeating herself and told me that would just need to keep getting my service back with my current provider until whomever is doing it stops.

Ever since Ambit has been sold off their service, customer service has gone downhill. Years ago when Ambit had good people in Dallas to talk too, those days are gone. You get a call center somewhere overseas and the people you talk to have no clue what they are talking about, only to read from a script. Now back to billing. I usually see my bill on line after the 1st of the month. This April on the 5th 9th week I notice I didnt get a bill yet and called. I was told that since the big freeze they are running behind and will get my bill soon and my bill should be due on the 22nd. Around April 15th or 16th I saw a bill Invoice Dated 4-13-2021 for the amount of 108.18. Due on 4-29-2021. Today (4-21-21) I checked my website to see how I can transfer my service to my new house on the 28th. I was shocked to see I was past due for the 108.18 and now owe 193.33 due on 5-03-2021. So in three days Invoice Date 04-13-2021 and a new Invoice Date 04-16-2021 3 days it increased 85.15. They never gave me a chance to by the 108.18 but in three days printed out a new invoice and charged me additional 85.15. And said I was past due. When I asked the representative why all this is going on she had no excuse and seem just as confuse as I did and kept repeating what she had on her script. They speak little English and have a big accent to where it is hard to understand them. Just my opinion they lost money during the freeze and are trying to be slick by sending two bills in one month to make up for their lost. Im sorry Im stuck with Ambit for another year. Years ago when I had TXU never ever had this kind of issues. When My contract is up next year I will be going with TXU.

I signed up for service with Ambit Energy on November 7th, but ended up not moving into the property as planned.

I called Ambit Energy to cancel my service on December 2nd, which the customer service rep. assured me she had done. The Company then decided to launch an investigation into the bill (as i NEVER moved into the apartment, and so could not have consumed any energy in there, right?).

The cancellation was requested on December 2nd. On December 27th however, I received notice of a new bill for the month of December.
Ambit Energy failed to stop service on December 2nd like I requested, and continued to charge me for service to an apartment that has remained EMPTY (according to apartment complex).
I called Ambit Energy with this development and they vehemently REFUSED to admit their wrongdoing and adjust the bill, trying to force me into paying for a service I requested to be cancelled THREE WEEKS prior.
The Supervisor, Nate kept me on the phone for 1.5hours, arguing and telling me they couldnt have cancelled my service at MY request, because they didn't want to inconvenience whoever (fictional person he made up on the call) may have been living there AFTER i told them to cancel service to that apartment, owing to not living there.
This is blatant theft and very fraudulent behaviour from this company. I wouldn't trust them with anything.

Im 53 years old. I have used several electricity companies throughout my adult years and Ambit is hands down the worst. They literally play games with you to get money. They will tell you your bill is due on a certain day and still cut your electric off a week before to charge you a reconnect fee. They will tell you they are waiving the reconnect fee and then add it to your next bill. We have had our electric turned off 5 times this year, twice during the quarantine, despite paying our bill. Please tell me how someone 53 years old who has never had their electric turned off, gets shut off 5 times in one year. The constant here is Ambit. Theyre complete trash. We went with them according to our apts suggestion and I regret it. Switching as soon as our contract is up. Pure evil.

I am just an average customer better off than some I would suppose but nothing to brag about. Ambit was ok at first but their price gets higher and higher. I am just finishing my contract and am running like the wind. (inside joke since I weight 350 and my idea of running is contrary to most)I have a 2 bedroom apt and my bills are like 200 bucks a month. I call to inquire and they change plans and lock me into another year. I had to dig deep into my bill and found that my rate was totally different than what I was told. So I had needed for the first time in my time with them a payment arrangement. Well it was only 2 months total and the bill was 500 bucks. I was like how can my bill be that much. They didn't know just wanted money. So ok what can you help me with. Well for starters they say you need to pay half.... I was like wth? Then finish it off in too months the past due amount. So since my past due was 500 I paid 250 down. Then my regular payments of 200 a month. So that's 450 the first month. Then 125 plus my regular bill that's 375 for the next 2 months? Yeah thanks a lot of nothing AMBIT. I have COPD and sleep with a ventilator. I told them please don't turn off my electricity I need my machine to breath when I nap or lie down. They wanted a doctors form so I get it take it my dr then fax it back to them. OH WOW... they never receive it. I sent them via email... (which like others say in their posts... it gets bounced backed to me) and I have also faxed it. Tried it for 2 months straight and nothing changed. I was not asking for a handout. I work hard.... wanted to pay what's due and not take advantage of the system. They won't help you. 10 bucks for sending you a disconnect notice.... 40 bucks if you pay the bill when they have already sent a notice out but before its turned out..... yes explain that to me. 2.50 for a debit card payment... everything everyone is saying is true. Run from them. Don't ever use them..... if you do you have been warned

Was on autopay but they would screw that up at least 1x per year and then charge a late fee! Trying to get them to reverse it was like trying to do a corporate merger- not worth the time and effort.

I just moved in with my mother. I tried to read bill statement. It was the most confusing piece of paper I've ever read in my life. I'd give this a 5 stars but I can't call customer service to change anything. Confusing. Why can't Ambit just display our meter reading and bill due? If pay it immediately, but I can't because of all the "adjustments". Too confusing!

This isn't worth the switch. I moved and my automatic payment information did not get set up with the new address. My service was disconnected and I literally paid it and reset my payment up on the autopay within 2 minutes from the disconnect. I called to see if the reconnect notice had been sent and was told it was. But Oncor informed me that my order was never sent through. I hate that I left my previous provider and I will be cancelling today!

October 30th cleared my bill and was zero balance, today I check on their recording and I owe $240, after being told by yet another confused billing support clown. This company is a fraud and Im done with their bs. The worst crooks ever.

I came home to my power off and when I called they said I was past due 15 days. I was unaware that I was past due but only 15 days grace period is ridiculous. They told me it would take 24 hours to turn my electric back on meanwhile all my food in the fridge is getting warm. Switching companys today and will never use them nor refer anyone to them again.

I paid my Bill in full to Ambit Energy and they refused to give me a receipt. I was told I would get a receipt sent to me in 48 business hours! Who does this! When someone pays for service an automatic receipt should be generated. In addition to that the customer service is the absolute worst! The rates arent that much different than a more legit energy company. I would advise everyone to NEVER use Ambit Energy for your energy needs. All I want is a receipt!

Horrible company!!!!! We moved andI canceled service on Oct 9th ....waited and paided bill like they said to be disconnected and final bill reading. Just got a call that my bill was due ok???? will called and they are trying to get 100 you know why..... 15 dollar disconnect and get this a 45 dollar reconnect fee!!!! I CANCELED SERVICE OVER A MONTH AGO!!!! No customer service what so ever available now. I Can't wait for my lawyer to get this one!

I signed up for ambit because it was recommended to me by the same person who helped us find out apartment and we were living in a rush so I didnt have the time I would have liked to research my options. I went through the entire process and enrolled in autopay only to learn that for some reason my 3rd party verification call failed even though I have phone record to prove it didnt. Because of this I now have a vacant electric charge from my apartment and nobody from Ambit can explain why this happened. They are refusing to cover the charge or ever offer a reduced rate for the misunderstanding. Please do not use them for any reason. Ill be canceling as soon as I find a better company.

During the pandemic, my husband had spinal surgery and being tested for cancer, seeing 6 specialists and doctors. I tried to work with Ambit to ensure my bill was always paid. I got a disconnect stating an amount which I paid per their due date. They still disconnected me and stated they would not turn me back on unless I paid an outrageous amount to be turned on, even with the current COVID-19 pandemic and my husband recovering from spinal surgery. They even have crazy rates. I would not recommend nor will I go with them again.

I own a dog grooming business and I am sitting here with no electricity in the dark. No way to run clippers or run the fans to dry the dogs. I have been calling every day to try and resolve this matter but nobody could help me. So now I have to call all my clients and cancel their dogs grooming appointments. I am so angry and frustrated. When I first signed I had the texas 6 plan. My bill was $150 average for a one bedroom! Rediculous. Then I resigned and my bills was 150-200 every months. They trick you into resigning. They will email you the contract I resign but what they don't say is that you'll be paying a higher rate. I. July I resigned over the phone and come to find out the CSR put me down for a month to month and Inwhich he made it so I am paying at the highest rate. NO NOT SIGN WITH YHEM THEY ARE A SCAM

We had made arrangements with AMBIT to pay our bill on October 2. The morning of the second at 9 am they turn our power off. REALLY? This is not the only time they have done this either. Second month into the covid pandemic ,my husband out of work and it was 112 outside they turn my electric off. We tried making arrangements with them but they said he would have to be on unemployment to be able to claim covid benefits. He is a contractor so unemployment benefits were not happening for us. This company does NOT care about the people who are struggling and it shows. As soon as I can find another carrier I'm done with this shitshow!

Been using ambit for close to a decade and they have only gotten progressively worse. Just recently received an email saying my statement was ready. Go to pay it and it says we owe 0.00 We just moved and we're only going to be billed 13 days so we thought, oh well, we'll see it on our first full bill surely. Checked several more times throughout the day just to be sure and then went ahead and processed a zero dollar payment (which cost us 2.50) Recieved a disconnect notice in the mail today saying we're past due on 80 bucks. No biggie but why the discrepancy? So my wife and I call the 1-800 number get a guy who barely speaks English tell us that yes indeed we owe the money and the bill most have been lost in the mail and blames USPS. We're on paperless billing, so that's not the case. I explained I tried to pay but YOUR payment portal says I dont owe. Then I get blamed for not paying it and have to start over with my on time payments. I ask to speak to someone else and he refused several times before I just started saying I want to speak to a manager over and over again. Then I hold for the "manager" who just really didn't care. He also audibly set down his phone and didn't respond for a full 1-2 minutes. I asked if he set the phone down, he swears he didn't. Then proceeds to blame shift again. I asked to speak to his manager in which he said he's THE manager (yeah right) offered no apology for the discrepancy which is on their end, no solutions to my on time payment record which is now ruined and no resolution before he hung up on me. If you are dumb enough to use this company pay very close attention to your plans expiration date because they will not notify you and the bill you get will be EXPONENTIALLY more than normal. Happened to us twice.It's just a MLM pyramid scheme and they'll promise you the world trying to get you to sign up but when it comes time to deliver.... nothing. Hidden charges and backwards car salesmen math

Got recommended this energy plan from a leasing agent. Didnt know she ways getting discounts via her recommendations. First year wasnt to bad second year as charged double. Third year was charged over 300 bucks for a 1 bedroom. Enough was enough. 50 dollar energy transmission charge. Would not recommend to anyone ever. Its a big scam. Made billions off of overcharging. Moved to reliant. Now getting 50-75 dollars a month for the same usage never will go back.

I made a payment and had a confirmation of amount. However, more money was deducted than what I confirmed. Now Id have to wait two weeks for reimbursement/refund through the mail... my confirmation means nothing, so I try to send the proof via an email they provided but that email box is full and cannot accept my email. Their customer service cannot believe their email is full and said I should delete some of my emails to see if that works...

I wound NOT recommend this company as they cant be trusted and cannot find reasonable problem resolutions to customers.

When I decided not to renew my contract, my price doubled. I was moving apartments and didn't want to renew with them. Other companies have better pricing. My price for 15 days was the same as 30 days. I came to find out that my leasing agent and her friends were getting free electricity from Ambit based on referrals. I came to find out that this was "illegal." Leasing agents can't recommend only one electric provider. So, we the other customers were paying for their electricity. Their cost was being passed on to us.

I think this is probably the first time ever written a review. But I feel so strongly against this company I don't feel like I can write enough. I was an Ambit customer for 2 years. I never paid my bill late or had any issues until my last two months. I didn't notice until I had moved out of my previous apartment that I had 2 bills totaling 1200 dollars. I called multiple times trying to get it figured out. No one would help me. I'm two years my highest bill was about 150 dollars. Yet they could see no problems or concerns with a 400 and an 800 dollar bill within the span of a month and half.
The best that I could figure out was it was a bad hot water heater that ran the bill up. I obviously don't hold Ambit responsible for that. My complaint is I'm a disabled veteran and I was laid off in March due to Covid. I was living on my life's saving during this time. All I asked is if we could possibly work out a fair price. I offered to pay the average for the year, for both months. They would do nothing except offer to put me on a payment plan. Even after I finally got them to admit that there must be an issue and I'm not just holding nightly raves in my 700sqft apartment. They still said that because the electricity was technically used regardless of how, it was a valid charge.
Again, I'm not claiming they legally did me wrong. But at a time when people could use just a little bit of help. They felt they needed my 1200 more than I did to keep a roof over my head. I can't speak for there rates compared to anyone else. All I can tell you is if you want to do business with a company that cares about you and wants to provide you with good service, this isn't the company for you.
I should also mention it took them almost 6 months to decide to call me back and tell me they could offer no help.
